About
Mount Kenya is Africa’s second highest mountain at 5,199m (17,058 feet) and the highest of all Kenya Mountains. Mount Kenya is roughly circular, about 60km across at the 200mm contour, where the steep font hills rise out of the gentler slopes of the centered highlands. At the centre of the massif, the main peaks rise sharply from around 4,500m to the main summit of Batian 5,199m, Nelion 5,188m and point Lenana 4,985m. Other major summits on the mountain include Point Piggott 4,957m, Point Dutton 4,885 and Point John 4,883m. Of the three main peaks (Batian, Lenana and Nelion), only point Lenana can be reached by trekkers and the other two being only for technical climbers.

- Z1232GQcrete0 contributionsAmazing ! Must do ;)We started at 5:30 am with Edwin. It was an amazing experience. Guide was telling us a lot about the animals and provided general information about the county. Good atmosphere, safe and easy going ;)Written October 8, 2024
- jonmcwhite0 contributionsSurprise visit to Nairobi national park.We had just finished 3 weeks of safari in Kenya and Tanzania, and we're expecting to fly home. Unfortunately, a connection problem made us have an extra full day in Nairobi. Not wanting to sit in the hotel all day, we started looking on TripAdvisor for a tour or activity. We didn't get excited about the in city tours, but when we saw the half day safari in Nairobi national park, we realized we weren't salaried out yet. Although we had some issues getting the park tickets, which you must do online, we were only slightly delayed in starting our tour. The timing actually turned out perfectly as the first animals we encountered were a family of white rhinos right on and next to the road. Two adolescent brothers were mock fighting with their horns, and we got wonderful photos and videos. We had not been that close in our previous 3 weeks, so it was quite special. We saw a young male lion, beautiful Masai giraffes, hippos, ostrich, many kinds of antelope. The only thing you won't see are elephants, the park is too small. The fascinating thing is the park borders directly to the city. There is an electric fence to keep the animals out, but the other boundaries are open and the animals can roam freely. There is actually a very long bridge/viaduct that takes the railroad above and across the park. It really is strange to take pictures of these wild animals and have the city skyline as the background. We didn't think we'd get the chance to go here, but it turned out to be the icing on the cake of our African adventure.Written October 7, 2024
- jitka_haincova0 contributionsamazing safaria wonderful experience, nice accommodation with full board and a swimming pool at the entrance to the national park, great organization, the guide/driver was absolutely reliable, everything was as agreed. I highly recommend it.Written October 7, 2024
- Christel Helene A0 contributionsPerfekt safariOur guide Edwin was friendly and helpful, and created the best athmosphere in the car! He also had good communication with the other guids to communicate where animals could bee seen. We saw Lions eating a zebra and rhino cubs playing. And we have never been this close to a croccodile. Perfect day!Written October 5, 2024
- danielnG9483YY0 contributionsNairobi national Park safariLawrence was a very competent and informative guide. Recommend. Would go again. Saw all animals within an hour of entering the park.Written October 4, 2024
- 841erice0 contributionsWell Done!Edwin was an outstanding guide. He tracked down a pride of lions that most other guides have given up on - and we were rewarded with a group of six and then a second pair. That’s in addition to white and black rhinos, buffalo, crocks, hippos, and many more. Great visit to Nairobi National Park.Written September 30, 2024
- kendrah2040 contributionsBeautiful animals, lackluster guideBooked a last minute morning safari with this company. For a half day tour where you also have to pay a park fee, I found it a bit overpriced. Of course, seeing these animals is a once in a lifetime privilege but for over 150USD, I would expect the guide to be giving us some information on the animals, or really any information at all...! He seemed to either be on his phone or distracted because when we would ask to move, he either didn't hear or didn't listen. And, if not for a South African accompanying us on the ride, I don't know if we would have spotted the animals we did. She spotted rhinos, giraffes, zebras and lions. The guide felt more like a driver (limited interaction and info given) and I was expecting more given the price and the other reviews....Written September 30, 2024
- Vacation660721222520 contributionsWonderful Experience! We saw most of the animals and had a fun and interesting experience. We came across two prides of lions and got a close-up view. Our guide, Edwin, made sure we had the best possible experience with the best views.Written September 29, 2024

- johnstona20240 contributionsGreat safari with LawrenceMy safari was made a memorable experience by professional driver guide Lawrence, he was a great guide who understands the history of Nairobi and knowledgeable about flora and fauna, the safari was even more better because he knew where to find the animals and the best time. I have been to different safaris but for this it has been one of my favourite, we didn't see elephants but learnt more about them as well. From a close point we saw cheetah, lion's, rhino's and many other animals.Written September 28, 2024
- A9899WRsamm0 contributionsNairobi National Park Safari with LawrenceI went for Nairobi National Park Safari in September 2024. Lawrence was the driver cum guide. He is excellent. He explained all the details of animal characteristics. He has very good sense of animal behaviors. He could predict where the animals will move and took us there. Interestingly, the animals moved there. He is also an excellent driver. He always took us to the right spot before any other safari vehicles. I highly recommend him as safari guide and driver.Written September 28, 2024
