About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jim S0 contributionsMaasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Hell’s Gate National Park.We did a 5 day and 4 night Safari Tour in Kenya. We did Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Hell’s Gate National Park. All of these parks are amazing, but have totally different landscapes and offer their own beauty. The key to a great Safari is having a great guide. Steve was our guide and he was very knowledgeable, informative and punctual. He made the trip fun and always went above and beyond to get us close to the animals. He knows most of the guides in the parks so he made sure to call them and find out where the action was at the time. Through out the trip we ran out of things to ask for because he put us on everything. We never dreamed we would see the Big 5 animals of Africa but Steve made it happen. It would be hard to pick our favorite things but seeing a leopard was just incredible. One of the coolest experiences was seeing these cheetah’s stalk some impala’s. This cheetah took off running about 5 ft from our vehicle and was successful. So crazy how fast they are and how far away the impala’s were when the chase began. I didn’t think the cheetah had a chance. I was wrong. lol! Steve drove us right up to the kill where the cheetah were enjoying the fruits of their labor. Our accommodations were all more than we expected for the price we paid. Sleeping in the tent in Maasai Mara was fantastic. At night we could hear the baboons and hyena. It was a really cool experience. The food was more than we expected and the staff at every destination were super friendly and helpful. One of the evenings the hotel out on a traditional song and dance routine. It was great fun to see the crowd joining in. If you are going to book with Jocky Tours you should ask for Steve to be your guide.Written October 9, 2024

- keha0l0 contributionsGood SafariThis was our first time visiting Kenya, and we joined Jocky’s 7-day tour. During the trip, we visited Masai Mara, Nakuru, and Amboseli National Parks, among others. Our driver and guide, Peter, was extremely responsible and ensured that we saw lions, leopards, cheetahs, and many more of the Big Five. He provided us with detailed explanations throughout the journey and was always very enthusiastic and helpful. We had an amazing experience thanks to Peter’s excellent guidance.Written October 4, 2024

He was a very safe driver, and it was easy to tell he had lots of experience knowing where, and when, to go for the best wildlife viewing. We saw tons of animals and loved it. He was very pleasant, attentive and funny. He also gave us some great music recommendations. Jocky Tours is very well organized, has competitive prices, and professional staff. They were very responsive to our questions and requests. Food and accommodations were great at all the places we went. Great experience from when we started planning/booking, right through to the end of the safari itself!Written October 1, 2024
- roger19510 contributionsSuperb Companyockey Tours were superb, I could not fault them. My wife and I booked their 4 day 3 night safari to the Masai Mara in Jan 2023, and despite the price for entry to the park being increased massively, Jockey Tours very kindly agreed to honour the original price that they had quoted for our safari - which they didn’t have to do. We were fortunate that the guide/driver that Jockey Tours provided us was Julius, who was simply FIRST RATE. His knowledge, personality and general demeanour was so good it is impossible to put into words. I have no hesitation in recommending Jockey Tours and Julius, and will definitely be using them again.Written September 28, 2024

- N2599TRbethp0 contributionsAMAZING!!We did the 5 day 4 night safari package and it was one of the most amazing experiences we have had. Solomon our guide was outstanding. He was so patient and stopped for as long as we wanted to see the animals. His 15+ years of experience showed throughout the 5 days and his knowledge on animals and areas we visited was incredible! We managed to see 4/5 the big 5 and Solomon made sure to get as close and as safe to the animals to fully experience the true beauty of them! We even managed to see a cheetah and her 4 cubs eat their breakfast! We had a chance to visit one of the Masai Mara tribes and would advise anyone doing the tour to pay the additional $20 to experience this and learn about their cultures! We also did the nature walk additionally for $30 at naivasha. This allowed us to walk around the Crescent island game sanctuary with a guide and was in near touching distance of giraffes, zebras and many more animals. This was so exciting to experience! I celebrated my 30th birthday whilst on the trip and Solomon even got me a birthday cake and had one of our lunch stops sing to me African style. This showed how thoughtful he was throughout our whole trip! Jocky Tours where very reliant with communication and would normally reply within a matter of hours! We did the budget safari and this was an incredible value for money! Beth & Navi- UKWritten September 27, 2024
- karimtT8731OA0 contributions5-star life time experience with our guide SolomonThe 5 days safari with jocky tours was by far our best experience ever! 5 days full of adventure where we did Safari , game drives , boat ride , cycling and hiking. Our guide Solomon made sure to make our experience unforgettable, he is a very knowledgeable and humble person , he answered all our questions and even explained a lot of details about the local life in Masai . He was very patient with us and made sure to take action when we requested something ( for example he bought a WiFi package and shared it with us ). We also appreciate the extra effort he made to make our experience even better : for the full masai mara day we were supposed to go back at 16h but our guide did extra hours to show us even more animals ( watching baby lions with the sunset will stick in my head for a while ). First 2 days we were amazed by the beauty of Masai Mara Parc, we almost saw every possible animal there except the leopard, but we were lucky enough to witness some great things like group of lions hunting, a group of Cheetah eating fresh food , baby lions ect .. 3rd day we visited the Masai village where we got close to the local people and learned about their life . 4th day we spend it in lake Nakuru where we saw tons of beautiful birds and we had a nice boat ride in lake Naivasha in the afternoon 5th day was a nice cycling experience in hells gate and we finished with a nice hiking experience In total we did everything that was promised in the package ( we had to pay extra for some activities that were not included in the plan but it was definitely worth it ) I would definitely recommend this experience and you would be lucky if your guide is SolomonWritten September 25, 2024

We were very satisfied with the services. We travelled comfortably in a Toyota Land Cruiser car with excellent driver and guide Steve. We saw just about everything we could, including the big five. We were also satisfied with the accommodation and food. The visit to the Maasai village was also very interesting for us. We can recommend the travel agency Jocky Tours and especially the driver Steve to anyone who wants to experience a visit to the beautiful Kenyan parks full of exotic wildlife for us Europeans. Jockey Tours did a great job of putting together an itinerary that was really great value for money.
Andrew was our driver for the 4 day Masai Mara/Lake Nakuru tour. He did an incredible job going above and beyond the job description by offering all sorts of information about the animals and places we were seeing. I was really impressed by his handling of group dynamics and his energy throughout the early morning and long drives. It’s safe to say that no pot holes threw him off delivering a spectacular experience. Would 100% recommend him for anyone looking to safari in Kenya.
The only things we found difficult about this trip was out of the control of the tour operator or driver - rubbish in the village and the sheer number of tourists/cars seeing the wildlife. Would be great to see more information about the reality of human impact on the wildlife and future groups getting involved with helping the Masai village on projects and maybe rubbish collection could be a start…

My Partner and I had booked a 5 day safari (shared tour) with Jocky Safaris and were pleasantly surprised with the ease of communications with the Jocky team before arriving in Kenya. All our queries and doubts were listened to patiently and answered promptly. We booked with them also because they were the most value for money compared to several other offers we had received.
We were in the jeep with 3 other groups and all our needs were listened to and well understood by our guide, Kikitu. A very special mention to him for staying calm and jovial in meeting all kinds of demands and requests from all of us.
The Lenchada camp location near the Masaai Mara reserve was quite nice and the facilities and service was really commendable. The experience at Lanet Matfarm Resort (Nakuru) was not that pleasant as the facility is quite old with showers not working and seems understand. Maybe the Jocky team should have a word with them in offering a better service. The stay at Dove Nest Lodge at Naivasha was a pleasant experience and staff was really helpful. The bicycle ride at Naivasha Park is a short ride for USD20 which I would not recommend. However, you should not miss the Naivasha lake boat ride which costs additional USD20. Do not miss this!!
All in all, an experience of a lifetime with Jocky Tours. Once again, Please ask for Kikitu and he will enthrall you with his stories about the geography, history and zoology of Kenya. Guaranteed!!
PS - they even dropped us back to the airport after the safari and managed to make a stop at their office to collect our remaining luggage.

I received this tour as a birthday gift and couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Our driver Solomon was excellent, he alone added a lot of extra value!
Our group was 7 people and we were picked up promptly on the first day in Nairobi, and driven a scenic route to Masai Mara including a pitstop to see the stunning views at Rift Valley. First evening was a 3 hour game drive at sunset followed by an early morning wake up call on day , for a 12 hour game drive experience. Our driver was amazing at spotting animals that 9/10 people would not see, and had interesting facts and stories of all wildlife with a great knowledge in regards to the history of the park. He fielded all of our many questions with ease !
All meals were included with price but lunch on day 2 was the highlight - a lovely picnic in the middle of the reserve which in itself was a once in a life time experience. Also unlimited bottled water was included which added to the value !
Final morning consisted of a sunrise hike with many different viewpoints of the entire park followed by a tour of Maasai village by locals, which was certainly eye opening. From here, we set off back to a Nairobi, a safari tour bus full of people sitting in mostly silence as we all contemplated and took in what an amazing experience the previous 3 days had been. 11/10 couldn't recommend doing this enough.
Only feedback I would have is timings and having more visibility of how long some things would take so you prepare yourself i.e. sunrise hike was sold as 1 hour and ended up being 2.5 hours and many of us didn't bring water !

The safari itself was an absolutely a beautiful experience. I had spent months looking for an affordable group joining safari with no luck until i came across Africa Jocky Tours & safari tours . I saw all that I wanted to see and met an amazing group of people while I was there. Our guide Jack did his best to make sure we were satisfied and exceeded our expectations with all the questions being asked and getting as close as he can to the animals. The team is very responsive especially Minneh, and you will have a trip of a lifetime. I will definitely choose Jocky tours again Five stars.

I submitted inquiries to several tour guides and Jocky Tours responded in a few hours. I was looking for a tour guide for a family of 6 (2 grand-parents, 2 parents, 2 kids), and Jocky tours offered the best deal for 2 nights. Communication with Minneh was professional and everything was explained clearly. One thing I liked is their flexibility- we encountered issues getting to Nairobi and had to move our tour in a day's notice. Adjustments were made quickly! We stayed at Lenchada camp. Our tents had very comfortable beds, they were clean, the toilets flushed and there was hot water for showering. All of our meals were tasty and every member of my family ate heartily! Helen made sure we were always comfortable by addressing all our needs. Everyone was so friendly!
Our tour guide was Khalifa, and he was phenomenal! He picked us up at our hotel in Nairobi, and from the time I began communicating with him, he made sure my family and I felt relaxed. He also had the carseat I wanted for my toddler. Right from Nairobi, he began sharing information and his knowledge on major attractions in Nairobi and Kenya! The drive to Maasai Mara was over 5 hours, and he kept my family and I entertained with his knowledge of Kenya. We had great conversations throughout! Khalifa knew the park very well and he made sure we saw almost all types of wildlife at Maasai Mara including the elusive leopard! He had so much knowledge about the animals, the park, the Maasai people, and Kenyan culture and politics. He shared all this during our 3 days together, and my family felt like we gained a new family member by the time he dropped us off in Nairobi! One other thing we really liked about Khalifa was that he was such a careful yet efficient driver! Khalifa helped create the kind of experience we were hoping for during our safari tour- we had an enriching yet relaxed time! The visit was totally worth it thanks to our tour guide!

Due to Corona-pandemic restrictions it took our time to make decisions but Jocky Tours was very flexible, assisting, helpful understanding. We had specific wishes with regards to the Parks we wanted to visit and accommodations, Jocky Tours provided us what we wanted. (it’s important for us to have a Jeep instead of Minivan and accommodations of our taste).
Jocky Tours was also very flexible regarding to the payment (we payed in Euro instead of US Dollars).
On the day our tour started the guide showed up on time and the vehicle (Jeep) was in perfect condition.
Our Package was 6 days Private Tour (2 days Masai Mara, 1 day Lake Nakuru and 2 days Amboseli National Park). Throughout the tour our guide (Joshua) was very informative, helpful and always ask us if we have particular wishes (For example: Break times, Game drive arrangements etc) He made sure to arrange the game drives such that we have the best possible experience. Joshua made sure that we have a great view of animals while at the same time observing a distance in order to not disturb the animals. In Masai Mara due to Migration a lot of animals was in Serengeti (Tanzania) however we had a chance to see the Big Five in our second day at Masai Mara. In lake Nakuru National Park we had a great sighting of Black and White Rhinos and in Amboseli we were able to take the icon Elephant and Mount Kilimanjaro on the background picture. We made Safaris before with different operators in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda but Jocky Tours gave us a tremendous experience, special thanks to the Jocky Team in particular our guide (Joshua).

Jocky tours is amazing for the service it provides at a ridiculously low price. Given the charges for the national parks, I was left in awe as to the price at which they provide this service. The quality of the service is also top notch and they have spared no expense in catering to the needs of the customer. Joshua our tour guide was extraordinary, I ran out of superlatives throughout the trip to see his wide range of talents. His driving, his spotting and his knowledge regards to the flora, fauna and the history of Kenya was so in depth. He always put us first and ensured we were always catered to. I sincerely recommend asking for Joshua to be your tour guide and you can then completely relax knowing you're in the best of hands.

For the price, this is great value, so I feel a little bad that I’ve given it such a low rating. However, after the game drives in the maasai mara, with Isaac as our guide, I left feeling stressed and depressed at what wildlife watching has become and how the jocky tour guides are contributing to this.
Cars consistently raced around the park at high speed to get to big cats, at which point they all jostled to get as close as possible, stressing the animals out. Isaac assured us he was not disturbing the animals but when he drove very close to a resting rhino, which then proceeded to get up an walk away from us, i feel like he proved us right.
We would have to shout at him over and over again to stop the vehicle as he would try and get so close that he’d cut off animals as they were trying to cross the road. Coupled with the fact that every other driver is doing the same thing, the animals have no where to go and a particular encounter with a pride of lions was very uncomfortable as they were totally blocked by cars.
If we ever managed to get Isaac to stop the car - which was a difficult task in the first place - he would then start the engine again and push yet closer. So there was no peace for us or the animals. Furthermore, he only cared about seeing big cats, he even drove straight past elephants without even thinking we’d want to see them.
He did not listen to us in the car, who expressed explicitly that we wanted to go slow, and didn’t want to race around the park harassing the wildlife. I think this is a huge mistake for a guide, who should be adapting their guiding based on what the guests want.
We did see some amazing wildlife very close up including rhinos, lions, elephants, giraffe, cheetah, leopard, jackals and much more. So I leave feeling happy that there is such abundance in the maasai mara, but sad that there is so little respect for the animals. There definitely need to be stricter rules on where they can drive, I.e. not off road, where they can damage wildlife.
The food was also great and really good value for money. But if I recommend this to a friend I will definitely provide a warning about the guiding style.

We went in a 3 days tour with Kikitu as our guide and it was a great experience. He was punctual to take us in Nairobi airport and the road trip to Maasai Mara, although it's long, was fun and amusing! Kikitu is really funny and makes everything looks easy! First day in Maasai Mara we were already surprised by lots of animals and we saw a beautiful sunset. However, second day was when it was really amazing! Kikitu took us to see the sunrise in the most beautiful place and from then, we spent whole day in a game ride seeing animals. He is a great guide, able to find and see all the animals around the place, and he looks truly respectful with them and their space. We saw a huge number of animals in their own habitat, eating, sleeping, hunting, swimming... and all the big 5 expect for rhino. Also, Kikitu explained us lots of things regarding the habits or life forms of the different animals, as well as information about nature and the Maasai Mara itself. He was a great guide, and also a great company for us!We had a great time together. We finished our tour on the third day with a visit to a Maasai Village to learn a bit more about such a different culture, and we were taken to the airport on time again.
Great experience Kikitu! Thanks!

Our tour guide made sure that this 3-day safari is to become our best experience of our 10 day stay in Kenya. The park was above expectations. We ere able to get very close to every animal, basically could have pet the lion from the window (not recommended though :D). Our lodge was also much better than expected. Khalifa was flexible and recommended an early start and also agreed to visit a local school near the masai village. This trip was truly the very thing we will still remember after many years! Thank you!

Hi, can I check what time will you reach Nairobi in the 3rd day? I have to fly out of Nairobi international airport at about 5 pm - will there be enough time to reach the airport?

Hi, after visiting Masai Mara, we traveled to another city and did not return to Nairobi. If I remember correctly, on the third day we had breakfast, went on a morning drive, visited a local village, and then began our journey back.
They are very supportive and you can check with them directly.
Have a great trip!
