The tour start by picking you from your Nairobi Hotel or residence 9:30AM and start the drive to Limuru arriving at 11AM and over a cup of tea or coffee the history of the farm and process of making tea is informally explained, followed by an opportunity to see tea in the field. The gardens around the home are lovely and well worth a stroll, especially to catch glimpses of the resident colobus monkeys! Also included in the tour is a walk through the indigenous forest that is still preserved. The guide is highly entertaining and comical! Your stay here includes a relaxed lunch. Again most of the produce is locally sourced and when making reservations through inform them of any dietary requirements! Lunch is a 3 course affair with complementary beverages - wine, beers, sherry, soft drinks and of course teas and coffee! Kiambethu's lunch is a great meal with homemade butter, rolls, and soup. Then salad, maize (white corn) and cheese, potatoes, green beans, carrots, Swiss steak, followed by fruit and homemade ice cream. The veggie options served is fantastic. At Kiambethu Tea Farm, guests are given an insight into the tea making process followed by an opportunity to see tea in the field. Accompanied by the resident Kenyan guide, guests can also take a short walk into the small indigenous forest and learn about the plants and how they were used traditionally, watch the Colobus monkeys and birds that are resident in the gardens or just enjoy the sweeping views across the tea fields to the Ngong Hills. You will then be dropped back to your Nairobi Hotel/Residence.

Best place to visit in Kenya
Best tour in Kenya! I couldn’t have a better moment in Naorobi. The place is beautiful, with a stunning view, gardens and birds that look like paradise. The family is very welcoming, gently and kind, and so the staff. The tea class is fantastic and guided by the most experienced person in the family. The service ir perfect. crockery, cutlery, napkins, all of the best quality. Perfect and artisanal food. from the snacks to the main course and dessert. To top it off, a fantastic tour of the medicinal herb forest guided by its guardian. Fantastic. I would go back a thousand times.

          Picture taking safari
John was excellent and we saw more animals than I thought we would. He would stop and let us take pictures whenever we asked him to stop. I highly recommend him.

Price tag for tour is not all, international visitors have to pay $50 more
The elephant orphanage itself is a great cause and i didn't mind paying a very high fee to visit since it is a good cause. What is upsetting is that you can't even go with the tour you buy! You have to buy a separate access fee to the park, which is $45 US dollars. Once again, a good cause, but it feels dishonest to pay over $100 and then be told that you need to pay 50% more. Just charge the full price from the start...

Good visit but don't forget to add park entry fee.
Just do it. A little pricy but I'm would still recommend. Be sure to get your park entry tickets before you go. The price on most tours do not include this. If you don't have tickets before hand you will need to scramble using the guides cell phone to buy these $43 USD tickets. Tickets are not sold at the entry gate. You will likely hold up your whole group.

          Choose your travel agency carefully
The animals and landscapes were great, but the accommodation was very different from what the travel agent Gracepatt said. The accommodation was temporarily changed, and it was not "similar" as advertised, but cheaper and cheaper accommodation. What's even worse is that when you try to contact the company, there's really no response. I think I still enjoy traveling here, but I will never book with this Gracepatt travel agency again.

          Fun and diverse day trip
We enjoyed meeting and feeding the giraffes at the Giraffe Center. The highlight of the day for us was the elephant orphanage. Seeing the baby elephants being fed by the keepers was delightful. There was also a tiny baby rhino. Try to get in the front of the line for the best viewing. The bead factory provides jobs for Masaii women and the jewelry is lovely. Our final stop gave us the opportunity to see many of the ethnic dances of Kenya.

          A Must Go!
A must do. Its not only fun to see the wee orphans but the rhino is also the star of the show. Its very informative as well, the (1) hour overview as to why each elephant and rhino is an orphan is very interesting. I would go again in a heart beat.

Wonderful event and would go again
A big traffic jam started the evening, but once we got there, we were entertained by a group of four for over two hours. The group was fantastic. During dinner a group of about 20 performed dances and it was amazing to see how limber the entertainers were. Food was very good with offerings of goat, beef, lamb, chicken, turkey, fish, horse, and my favorite of crocodile. The crocodile had a smoked flavor and was very tender. Was too full to try the ostrich. It was amazing to taste foods that I normally would not eat. Would definitely go again if in Nairobi.

Great tour. Phenomenal tour guide. One thing I would change.
It was just me and the tour guide this day. My tour guide Stephen was phenomenal. He slowed down for photos, assisted me with getting my ticket to the park, and took pictures and videos for me since I was alone. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. One thing I would like to mention that I think should be changed somehow. The price to the park is an additional fee that is mandatory because you are driving through it to get to where you’re going. If they could provide instructions on how to pay it or a link beforehand would be beneficial because the park doesn’t accept cash. Creating the account was a hassle due to the passport photo that kept zooming in on the picture and they didn’t accept certain cards. Because I wasn’t provided a link beforehand it just caused additional unnecessary stress, but thanks to Stephen it all got taken care of. Something to adjust for future tourists. Otherwise, I had an amazing day! Would highly recommend.

          Highly recommended great experience
Experienced travelers myself and have done many Afrikarrizen. We therefore booked a private safari trip from Nairobi to the Nakuru nature parks, a boat trip on Lake Naivasha and a bike tour through Hells Gate. The driver Stephen Matuku offered us a great experience, thought along with us, was flexible where necessary and made good suggestions. Gracepatt offered us an excellent price-quality offer where we could choose our own accommodation locations. Highly recommended!

Giraffe Centre and Elephant orphanage Nairobi
Visited the Giraffe centre first. Became full of the head butt, make sure you have feed, ha ha ha. Pellets for feeding are given on entry. Make sure you go to the talk as informative and helps you understand the centre. Then off the elephants. 21 baby elephants ranging from 3 months to 3years and one baby rhino. The stories of how they became orphaned and the centre rescuing them as well as the history is worth listening to. Great work by the Sheldrick's, so much forward thinking. Make sure you buy a souvenir or donate on the way out, well worth it.

          Book it without hesitation
This was a great way to discover Nairobi and its people . Stephen our guide was very helpful and sharing a lot of information throughout the day . Morning revolves around the animals , starting with the giraffe center at the opening where we got to hand feed giraffes , followed by the elephant and rhino rescue center where we got to experience the dedication put by the guardians . We stopped for lunch at the Utamaduni craft centre with plenty of local craft products to bring back home . We then visited the Kobe Tough beads and leather factory which was heartwarming seeing how the local women community has built a structure to integrate and produce fabulous handmade products. The Bomas of Kenya was our last stop and I would strongly advise you visit on a school week day as the reactions of the pupils who even joined the dancers on stage was for me almost as good as the show . I would definitely recommend this activity particularly if you have a limited time in Nairobi and want to experience some authenticity.
