About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Voyager450127123410 contributionsGreat guides, very comfortable accommodation, beautiful scenery and excellent wildlife variety and viewing opportunitiesThe overall experience was excellent. The guides were very knowledgeable and professional. They went out of their way to get us the best possible view of of the many animals that we saw. Some very special sightings of Cheetah in the Mara thanks to Nathan. Hussain also did a top job to get us "up close and personal" with a great variety of wildlife in the Serengeti, with Leopard, Lion and Elephant at the top of the list. Certainly for me the Mara nd the Serengeti were the highlights of my wildlife viewing experience on the safari. Our accommodation on safari was lovely. The location, service and the food exceeded my expectations. No review of this safari would be complete without a special thank you to Everline. The importance of her administrative ability, patience and promptness in responding to our inquiries and requirements in the overall safari experience can not be overstated.Written November 2, 2024
- E358ZCpablog0 contributionsVery good half day TourWe were a group of three people visiting for the first time the Nairobi National Park. It was an amazing experience thanks to Harrison, our driver and guide. We were able to spot many different animals such as lions, rhinos, zebras… We also visited the Elephant orphanage and Harrison made sure that we found a good spot to watch the animals. Highly recommended!Written November 2, 2024
- noeliaj9380 contributionsThe Maasai Mara deserves to be called a wonder of the worldMy ratings has been sporadic for this because of several reasons: The trip itself was phenomenal, and I highly recommend EVERYONE to do it. It’s definitely an experience you can’t miss. And DON’T miss the hot air balloon! That said, our driver Sammy was very knowledgeable about the Masaai Mara safari, and also diligent to help us see most of everything we needed (minus the black rhino which of course is extremely difficult). That said, there were moments where he & I had some tiffs because of SEATING arrangements (as to which guest sat in the front, etc which was very arbitrary and not really fair). That said, it was trivial, and we were both exhausted from the trip. That said, there were a few problems with communication and coordination from the get-go. 1. On out way home we had to change car+driver. 2. I was told I had to pay the driver dropping me back to my hotel. They realized they were wrong though, and I corrected them. Anyways, despite all that, I still say — JUST DO IT!Written October 29, 2024
- _kosk5250 contributionsGreat company, amazing experienceGeorge and Celestine were amazing drivers and very knowledgeable of the animals. The company was also flexible to make sure our needs are met (we wanted to start later because of our evening flight).Written October 23, 2024

- 157tingz0 contributionsCool Experience But Needs Elevated Customer ServiceThe game drive was very cool. Driver Gasto is an excellent driver and very knowledgeable in spotting the Big 4 but not so friendly and rarely smiles. The camp is basic and does not have hot showers. Beds are comfortable and food is decent. We were only provided 2 small bottles of water out of a 3-day trip. You can just skip the Masai Village tour. It’s too commercialized, a waste of money. Tips: 1. Bring your own water. They only provide 2 small bottles of water during the entire trip. Even coffee or soda are charged. 2. National park entrance is $200/day. You can skip the sunset game drive on the first day and save the $200. The second day is a full day game drive where you can maximize your $200 park fees. 3. If you have been to Nairobi National Park, you will see pretty much the same animals plus rhinos. It’s more budget friendly if you can’t afford this more expensive trip. Suggestions to the tour operator: 1. Please hire more friendly and professional drivers who can elevate the guests’ experience. 2. Need to be more transparent and communicative. We have one lady in our group tour who was kept in the dark about her 5-day itinerary and became very frustrated when the tour operator sold her trip to another agency. 3. Please bring more water to the guests and keep them hydrated. Water is a necessity and costs so little so please don’t be stingy.Written October 19, 2024
- Allen M0 contributionsAmboseli overnighter. We did this tour through a Trip Advisor booking. There was just the two of us and our driver/guide Black Santa. We stayed overnight at the AA Lodge just outside of the park. Black Santa was a very competent and safe driver, excellent guide and great company. Nothing was any trouble to him. We saw an amazing array of birds and animals and Santa's knowledge of such was extensive. The accommodation was lovely and the food and hospitality was fantastic. All in all a brilliant experience.Written October 17, 2024
- sarahmY2050UV0 contributionsGreat trip!We did a 2-day trip combining Mt Longonot, Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate bike ride, and it was excellent! Peter was our guide and he was amazing too, he was always on time, and had great insights on the area and Kenya to share. Highly recommend!Written October 12, 2024
- Samuel F0 contributionsBeautiful Views & Excellent ServiceStephen & Moses provided me with a wonderful experience. We got to the park early, and I found myself the only hiker on the trail! The views are stunning (wait until you get to the top, it is truly a wow moment), and I recommend hiking the whole rim if you’re up for it, about 9 miles total. Bring hiking boots and a reusable water bottle (2 litres if possible). Would recommend hiking poles for some sections that are a little steep and loose on the way down, but I survived without. Really recommend this trip for a fun day outside of Nairobi, and this group is the one to make it happen in a friendly and efficient manner. Thanks!!Written October 3, 2024

- 825naheedi0 contributionsBeautiful Place to StayExcellent place to stay. Nemo is excellent manager as well as all the staff at the hotel. The hotel is in the best location in Maasai Mara. If you are lucky you do not have to drive far to see the wildlife. There is a hippo pool at the hotel and one of the best hotels to see hippos in the Mara at very close range. Rooms are clean and the food is good. Definetely will recommend Keekorok. Thank You Ismail N stayed in sep 2024Written September 28, 2024

My husband and I decided on Perfect Wilderness tours for our safari of July 2021. I chose this company for several reasons- their exceptionally fast response to any questions and concerns I had (thank you, Everline!), the assistance in navigating the unusual covid VISA restrictions on entering Kenya, and the fact that they were willing to work with my preferences regarding itinerary and lodging. I was very glad that I chose this company! We were picked up at the airport as soon as we arrived, given excellent guidance and advice. We saw the amazing animals of Kenya, and were dropped off back at the airport - safe and sound - seven days later. i can highly recommend Perfect Wilderness as well as our guide/driver, Joel! It was an amazing holiday thanks to Perfect Wilderness, and we would happily use them again for our next trip to the area.

We are about to return from a family trip to Kenya and couldn't be more pleased with the services provided by Perfect Wildreness.
Our itinerary included a safari to Masai Mara, Amboseli, and Lake Naivasha, as well as airport transfers in Nairobi and a seamless drop-off at Diani Beach. The agency also handled our return to Nairobi via a domestic flight, ensuring everything went smoothly.
Damaris, who managed our booking, was simply amazing. She was incredibly responsive to our requests and messages, making the entire planning process stress-free. We felt well taken care of and confident that everything was in good hands.
A special mention goes to Chris, our driver and guide for the safari. He was the best guide we could have asked for! Chris ensured we saw all the incredible wildlife, including the Big Four (no Rhinos in sight unfortunately), and provided invaluable information about the animals and the country. His knowledge and enthusiasm truly enhanced our experience, making it unforgettable.
Overall, we had a fantastic time in Kenya, thanks to the professionalism and dedication of this agency. We highly recommend them. Thank you for making our family trip so memorable!

April 2022, 2 adults and our 3 daughters (ages 10, 13 & 15). We had such a fantastic tour with Simba and everything worked out perfectly. We loved the hotels that were booked by Perfect Wilderness and felt completely safe driving between parks and viewing the animals within the parks. Our guide Simba was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We enjoyed getting to know him and spend time in such a beautiful place. We wholeheartedly recommend booking a tour with Perfect Wilderness!!!

When we arrived on Nairobi Airport our driver Nathan was waiting already for us to pick us up. We had booked a private safari for 9 Days. First off all we visit in Nairobi the Girrafe centre and later theDavid Sheldrick wildlife trust Elephant nursery.
After that we went to Naivasha for a couple off days to visit some friends and relativs. Nathan brought us everywhere we had to go and hadgreat time.
After this days in Naivasha it was time to start our program for Safari from Perfect Wilderness. We went first to the Maasai Mara to try and find the big five. We found a lot of wildlife there and the visit to the Mara river was nice.We found from the big five the Elephant, Buffelo and the Lion. We saw also the Cheetah and the ussual animals.
After that we celebrate newyears eve in the Mara we went the following day to Nakuru national park to find more annimals. In this park we found the Rhino. There are not so many Flamingo's as years ago due to the rise of the waterlevel in the lake.
After 1 day Nakuru , we went to amboseli National park. This was a long drive trough Kenya but a nice on about the few. When we arrived there in the afternoon we did a game drive and saw plenty of Elephants. But Mount Kilimanjaro was hidden in the clouds. Hoppefully we can see it early in the morning next day.
The next day was Mount Kilimanjaro awake and we saw his beaty whit plenty of Elephants. This is the real out of Africa picture that you want to see.
At the end of the day we visit a Maasai village. We got a tour and saw how primativ this people are living.
After al those days in the African Wilderness we had finished our safari and went to the coast. Nathan dropped us on time on the airport to cautch our flight to Diani Beach.I really thank Nathan for his hospatillity and good guidness in the parks.

Details will follow. Just an appetizer: Mr Joel told me to be ready at the lobby of the hotel for departure from Amboseli at 6.30 am today. It is now 7.40 am and Mr Joel (who is, by the way the owner) is still not here. No info on his part when he will appear, nothing. Very unprofessional. More interesting details about the service of this travel agency will follow. I will most certainly not recommend this travel agency.

Hello Mr Nikolas,
1. I do appreciate your view about the just recent 7 days safari that you did. Now to answer your allegations is that i really apologize for not communicating to you effectively that morning since i was also under pressure to find a mechanic to repair the breaking system of the Jeep since it had a leakage in the pipes and had drained the whole amount of break fluid. so i do apologize i didn't communicate effectively as i should have.
2. Regarding you giving us a 1 star review surely this is uncalled for, since we upgraded you from a van to a Jeep which really was comfortable and i could maneuver any place in the parks to make sure you have a really nice experience which deep down you know you saw the big 4 , although it was the big 5 just that you missed taking a photo of the leopard mum and cab as vehicles were zooming left right and center.
3.On the issue of you saying we left you, it's not right since i had to ask for 2 vehicles, 1 vehicle from the nearby town came and picked you up and the other vehicle left Nairobi with our driver so as they can meet on the way to facilitate your transfer back to your hotel in Nairobi on time which we inquired as it was an extra cost.
To summarize it all is that safaris are always unpredicable vehicles break down and we find ourselves in such a situation like this , that's why as a company we are always have a vehicle on standby to help us mitigate such situation. On the issue of communication once again i do apologize i could have done it better. Overall i believe our company did the best it could to make sure the situation is solved since our clients are our number one priority. All the best in your future endeavors.

Stunning nature, great lodges, and the friendliest of people I've ever met anywhere
The tour guides we had (Joseph and Santa) were amazing, were incredibly
knowledgeable about the animals we saw and the landscape around us, and were
ready to answer any questions we had. Santa was especially entertaining and made
our long drives and long days full of light and laughter - thank you so much for a great
trip! I have nothing bad to say about this adventure. Thank you for a great
introduction to the magnificent and beautiful country that is Kenya, and rest be
assured, we will be coming back once we have time again.

Three days in masai mara were enhanced by an amazing hot air baloon fly. Not cheap but worth the price. The Naivasha , Nakuru lake and Amboseli completed nicely this safari ended at AA Lodge offering an outstanding accomodation near the national park . Only regret, the camp at Masai Mara, clearly below average in terms of quality as well as management clearly not up to the task.

We had the most incredible time on this tour. Our guide for the 6 days was Albert, who we thought was amazing. He was always on time and very respectful. During the Safaris, he gave us lots of information about the animals and knew exactly where to go to spot them. Thanks to him (and a bit of luck) we got to see all of the Big 5. He was open to suggestions and made us feel very comfortable. Thank you Albert :)

If I could give this trip a 10 star review I would! This was a "bucket list" trip for me, my wife and my family of 4 kids. Going on any safari is an amazing experience...going on this safari with our guide Sammy was an unforgettable memory of a lifetime.
To start with, as we were booking the trip, Perfect Wilderness was very easy to deal with and extremely responsive. We dealt with Beatrice most of the time via email and she was terrific. We have a few dietary and allergy restrictions and they made sure everything was taken care of with no problems.
In terms of the actual safari, all of the parks were amazing. We literally saw every animal on our target list, which included the big 5 and much, much more. All of the lodges we stayed at were terrific....the Sopa Lodge in Lake Nakuru is so nice I almost wanted our car to break down so we would have to stay another night!!! The Sopa Lodge in Navaisha is also incredible with wildlife roaming around the grounds. Just spectacular.
But all of those things wouldn't have meant as much without Sammy, our guide. Sammy was the most professional, caring, courteous and fun guide ever. I never imagined a 7 day safari with a guide who was so concerned for my family's well being literally every second of the day. We have 4 children (18, 16, 14 and 12) and they all loved Sammy. In addition to being an incredible safari guide (he spots things from so far away....like he has special vision or something?), we learned so much from Sammy about the animals (he knows so much about all of the different species and so many interesting facts), about Kenyan history and culture and so much more...not to mention the many, many laughs we had along the way. By the end of 7 days, he felt like a family member. We just got back a few days ago and we already miss him!
Overall, I thought the package Perfect Wilderness offered was a incredible value and I only wish I was doing it all over again!
p.s. Since this was my first safari, in terms of tips I would say: (i) binoculars are a must and I wouldn't consider them optional. Whether spotting something far away or even just getting great close up looks of a lions face, they are great to have; (ii) I would bring something better than an iphone for pictures. Having a reasonably nice camera with telephoto lens is nice to have and I felt bad when I saw people that only had phones for pics; (iii) we brought way too much luggage...pack as light as you can; and (iv) both in Nairobi and Kenya it is very hard to get small bills (ie.., dollars or 100 Kenyan Shillings), which you will want for tips and small purchases. We found people reluctant to take our 1000 KS ($10) because they wanted smaller bills. I would bring at least a hundred dollars in mostly small bills if I were to go again.
