          Bomas of Kenya
Stop: 3 hours - Admission included
Your tour starts by pick you from your Nairobi Hotel or accommodation at 1pm. Here you will experience the rich culture of Kenya’s 42 different ethnic groups as they live on their day-to-day basis. This is clearly demonstrated through traditional dances, music, song, and folklore. There is a splendid arena where acrobatic shows are performed. The Bomas of Kenya put on displays of traditional dancers and spread over many acres, it also has a wonderful display of mud huts and traditional Kenyan homesteads. The Bomas of Kenya is the ideal place to bring energetic children as they can freely run in and out of the traditional houses & mud huts, climb up ladders and generally have a wonderfully active time. These traditional houses are set out in clusters according to the region. The homes are grouped with the first wife's hut, second wife's hut, granary etc and you can see where the livestock are kept and the enormous variety between the huts. Bomas of Kenya was initiated in 1971 after Kenya's independence (1964) and it is run by the Kenyan Government and aims to promote Kenya's rich cultural heritage. In addition to the main attractions (the dancers and the traditional homesteads), there is also a large, wooden play area for young children, a small, low-key village of craft shops and other attractions.

          Wonderful Solo Tour
Titus was a fantastic guide! I was a solo traveler and never felt unsafe. The guide was very professional, a great driver, and had a good eye for spotting all the animals! To note: the typical lunch spot is solidly a tourist trap, so just be aware before you go into it. Don't buy any souvenirs from the shop. Ask not to go to the buffet spot next to a gift shop if possible.

          Great experience, expert guide
This tour was really great, and well worth getting up early for. Our guide Steven got us there promptly to avoid all the crowds and queues. He even told us where to stand to get the best pictures. Highly recomended.

A definite must if you are in Nairobi!
I was fetched by Stephen on the morning of the tour. He was warm and friendly. We fetched another guest and then headed to the Giraffe centre. We learned about the reason for its existence and information about the Rothschild giraffes. We were able to interact and feed the giraffes who wander across from the neighboring conservancy. Then we headed to the Elephant orphanage, where we were given an informative talk about the incredible work they do - rescuing, caring for and releasing the orphans. We watched a morning feed and were able to experience the babies, up close. The Bead factory was a wonderful opportunity to see what opportunity can give people who otherwise would have slim prospects of supporting themselves and their families. The work is of high quality and the shop had a great selection of belts, bags and beads. I had a truly memorable experience in Nairobi. I would highly recommend this tour. Stephen was a great guide and answered all our questions. He allowed us time to wander around after the visits to look at the incredible work that was available to buy. Just go!

          A Nairobi Adventure
I really enjoyed this once in a lifetime adventure! We were able to pet and feed giraffes, visit with baby elephants and even a baby rhino. We learned about the bead making process and heard the touching stories of the women at the bead factory. After lunch at a tasty and scenic restaurant we ended the day with Bomas of Kenya. The singing and dancing performances were a beautiful end to an amazing day. Thank you Stephen Mutuku (my driver and guide for the day) for being an excellent, knowledgeable and courteous host.

          Solo trip experience
The best part was the beautiful view from the room, my room faced the water hole. The break from salt lick to have lunch at Taita hill was a good idea since there is no much activities. I also got to seat at the bar one afternoon and it was so calm with a beautiful view. The chef Josephine was very kind passed by after dinner to check on how the meal was and for any requests for the next day. Martin our driver was also very kind. All the staff at the lodge were very friendly and respectful. It would however be nice if there was a phone at the room to communicate with the reception. It’s sad that get to see many animals just 3 elephants, two lioness from far and some grass feeding animals. The one down side is the lodge phone number do not go through and at some point I was frustrated wondering how to contact them. Please fix your phones.

          A Fantastic Day
A long but fun-filled day. The Giraffe Center was a lot of fun! Feeding the giraffes was so cool! We also learned quite a bit and got to see actual bones. The Elephant Orphanage was also really cool. The elephants were close enough to touch. They were very playful and fun to watch! The Bead Center was so interesting! We got to see how the beads are made and painted individually. The Bomas of Kenya was so much fun! The music was incredible and the dancing was so impressive! They even invited the audience to dance with them!

Steven was a fantastic guide! Incredibly patient. Knew the best places to take pictures. We felt so fortunate as we saw so many lions, rhinos, giraffes and zebras amongst so many other animals. We felt do fortunate to have him as a guide! Highly highly recommend. Incredibly efficient. Met us at the airport which made it so easy.

Amazing time with Gracepatt Travel in Kenya
My wife and I just finished our 2 week holiday in Kenya. We used Gracepatt for a 9 day safari as well as a day tour from Nairobi and airport transfers coming and going. Communication before our trip with Grace in the office was always clear and prompt. Our transfers and day tour went smoothly and pick up were punctual. On our safari we visited 6 parks and reserves and Grace was flexible in allowing us itinerary and accommodation options when we were planning. On safari our guide Titus, went out of his way to provide a great experience and see and photograph all the animals we could have hoped for and more. Additionally he was great at finding animals and was an experienced and excellent driver to boot, which is truly important once you see what Kenyan roads are like. All the accommodations were comfortable and…. This was key for us….we had the entire Toyota Land Cruiser to ourselves. While we saw similar vehicles packeked with up to 6plus people, we had the luxury to spread out, stop and go as we wanted, and had lots of space to get in positions to take photographs as my wife and I are keen photo bugs. All this for what I thought was a very reasonable price. So I highly recommend Geacepatt for your Kenyan travel needs.

Solo grandma had a wonderful adventure
Gracepatt made it easy. My driver Stephen picked me up before dawn and we were at the park just after 6 am. Stephen was both good and lucky today. One of our first encounters was with a mama rhino and her baby. So special. Then we came across four or five lions and had to wait for them to move off the road. No worries, we were patient and well rewarded. The day went on like this. We were both surprised to see two lion cubs in the tall grass by the roadside. Giraffe, lots of Impala, beautiful birds, a huge white vulture, hippo, and more. The zebra alluded is until the very end, but Stephen found them. It was such a wonderful adventure I'll never forget. Thank you.

I enjoyed my experience visiting the village and then the Bomas of Kenya. My driver Francis was very informative on sharing his knowledge on Nairobi. And as a bonus because of a traffic jam he took me through Kibera area also known as the slums.
        Asante sana Francis.

Very educational to see how each tribe lived - you get to see their houses and set-up - however you have to imagine what the people looked like and how they might have gotten on with their daily lives - make sure you take someone along as its very quiet there and one can easily get bored -

This was a great experience to get a great glimpse of Bomas of Kenya where we got to see how the various tribes in Kenya lived. We got to see some great homesteads and were later treated to a great show of all the dances by different tribes. We had a great guide called Kelvin who was very informative, knowledgable and friendly.

Francis was available to take us on a journey booked only one hour before start time. The Bomas are all similar in that the have a husband quarters, 1st wife, 2nd wife, 3rd wife, married son, unmarried son, and granaries. The difference is in the construction, using the materials found locally, whether thatched, or stone, or all mud walls and roofs. The dancing exhibitions of the different regions was fun to watch.
