About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Q481TFlauras0 contributionsEgypt's greatestWe had a very pleasant experience aboard the brand-new Historia, cruising from Aswan to Luxor. There is nothing negative to say about the boat; everything from the communication during booking to the transportation, excursions, food, and rooms was perfect. The staff made us feel extremely at home and were exceptionally friendly. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after each day's adventures. The excursions were well-organized and informative, offering a deep dive into Egypt's rich history. Dining on board was a delight, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from. Every aspect of our journey exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend the Historia for anyone looking to explore Egypt in comfort and style.Written July 30, 2024
- P6351VOjuliaw0 contributionsHistoria is an Exceptional Nile CruiseThe most incredible, unforgettable journey from Awan to Luxor. This cruise is luxury +++. Every detail has been taken care of and delivered to the highest standard. My family and I were greeted with Egyptian music and dance, and enjoyed every element of our stay on board. The cabins are spacious, exceptionally clean and we enjoyed the huge window allowing us to watch the journey day and night. The multi course lunch and dinner on board were of the highest quality. The entertainment did not disappoint, and the staff bent over backwards to deliver a five star experience. This cruise is most definitely the best on the Nike. Thank you for the memories. I wish we could have stayed longer.Written July 18, 2024
- K8697GTmarianag0 contributionsNile River CruiseExcellent experience. 100% recommend. Best cruise ship for the Nile. Food was awesome, service was perfect, rooms were really comfortable.Written June 2, 2024
- craigbV9076OA0 contributions3 Day Cruise Aswan to LuxorThis was simply breathtaking from start to finish. If the amazing ancient Egyptian tours were not enough, the 3 nights on the cruise made it a truly unforgettable experience. The food was exceptional and the service even better. We started this cruise at the end of May into June. Whilst it was hot, the low humidity made the weather bearable. We would definitely recommend this time of the year if you want to avoid all the crowds. If you are confused about which Nile cruise to book, look no further, this is the one!Written June 2, 2024
- stargazing710 contributionsLuxury On The NileI adored this boat and the staff who looked after us. I looked into the pros and cons of a cruise vs land transport, and am so pleased I did a Nile cruise. This was my first ever cruise, and what a treat to do so on this iconic river, such a relaxing way to stay and travel between Aswan and Luxor, gliding along on this smooth, quiet vessel, watching the scenery of Mother Nile go by. You can move between a number of locations and don't have to worry about where your bags are, or where's your passport. I was travelling solo, and moving constantly, so being on a boat for three nights meant an opportunity to meet and spend time with other travellers. When you are on a boat, a priority is the quality and safety of food, because you may not have the time or opportunity to find an alternative. The food on the Historia was plentiful and delicious - you will not go hungry on this boat! I especially loved the 1001 Nights Banquet, and the cooking demo. The service was next level - probably the best I have had anywhere in the world. Staff were friendly, kind, humorous, and could not do enough for you. They knew guests' names from the moment they embarked. And it was not feigned, but genuine. I left some laundry one morning, expecting I maybe would get it back the next day, went off to visit a temple, and it was back - washed, pressed and folded - by lunchtime the same day. I also loved that they collected tips, to share among the cleaners, crew and staff who are not 'front of house', rather than by individuals who had a lot of contact with guests. I researched just about every cruise boat on the Nile (and I mean ALL of them, multiple links and tabs opened), and specifically requested this boat from High End Journeys, who also organised my fabulous Egyptologist guide, Marco, who met me at each stop for shore excursions to tombs and temples. Hussein, Ali and Ayman (waiters who worked my side of the room) and Executive Chef Mahmoud in particular, thank you for a wonderful Egyptian experience.Written May 14, 2024
- aesale12570 contributionsMuch more than expected. We were originally booked to sail on the Farah, but got tranferred to the Historia. How lucky were we? We were on a 7 day cruise, Luxor to Aswan and back. We cannot say enough good things about our experience on this lovely boat and river cruise. The boat was spotlessly clean. The cabin was comfortable and we had Nile views throughout. The staff were incredibly well trained, attentive, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and more importantly they remembered all of our preferences and often served us before we had to ask. The food was absolutely to die for. The portions were small, but this was not a problem at all - it is called portion control. The presentation and the flavours were fantastic. The menus were varied and included evening meals served on the upper deck. They even did a special river cruise for us on our last night on the upper deck because the weather was too windy the previous night. The entertainment on board was traditional and entertaining. The music they had playing throughout was quietly in the background and easy to listen to. A truly exceptional cruise!Written April 30, 2024
- rollaz20220 contributionsBest luxury Nile cruise.I will start off by saying I’m Egyptian but lived and grew up in the US and have come to Egypt many times. We tend to be the most critical of Egypts tourism. After doing much research, I picked Historia for my ever first Nile cruise. 1. The boat is brand new, very clean and well kept. The rooms are spacious and modern. 2. The staff is all amazing and attentive. They all speak English better than most places. 3. Managers are always available and helpful. They do a good job of training staff. 4. The food is impeccable! Great presentation and the Chef is really talented. Some of the best food I’ve eaten in Egypt. Also everything is fresh and clean so you don’t have to worry about the food and getting sick. 5. The itinerary is very organized and they follow it exactly. 6. Sailing down the Nile is one of the most peaceful things to experience. The customer service is better than some of the 5 star hotels in the US. You can tell everyone on the boat is proud of the work they do. Also we did this trip during the Israel and Gaza war, we didn’t feel a thing and felt very safe the whole time. I would recommend this trip to anyone in America. The only thing I would say is try to go before April just because it gets very hot over a 105 degrees by 11am.Written April 25, 2024
- suhads20240 contributionsSooooo Good!!!!What a marvelous experience. The cruise ship is a boutique style, which really makes it an intimate experience. The ship is new, from 2021 and the decor and furnishing is brand new. The food, staff, and entertainment is really great and generous. The dining experiences are extremely sophisticated and really amazing. The staff are wonderful and there really aren’t enough words to recommend this cruise.Written April 14, 2024
- mamamacc130 contributionsA wonderful experience!Beautiful accommodations. Fabulous food - first and last dinner was sit down: all other meals were buffet. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating!Written March 30, 2024
- janielats0 contributionsFine dining on the Nile.We were a group of 8 people who spent 3 nights on the Historia Nile Cruise as part of our Egypt trip. We had a fabulous time! After a night in Aswan at the Old Cataract Hotel (we would have loved to spend another night there as the position and hotel are amazing) we boarded the Historia for our Nile Cruise. The food and service were exceptional and our waiter Ahmed was great. All staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was wonderful. The Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples and The Valley of the Kings were absolute highlights. It’s a great time to travel as sadly for the locals there are few tourists but we always felt safe. I would highly recommend this Cruise and hope to return one day with the rest of our family.Written March 29, 2024
- samhE3911QB0 contributionsIncredible experience! This is my first time leaving a review on trip advisor to say: Simply incredible!!!! We went on the 3 night cruise from Aswan to Luxor in December. We stayed in the presidential suite which was so comfortable and spacious. The views of the Nile are breathtaking!! The food is AMAZING. I really thought all the reviews mentioning the food seemed too good to be true especially as we’re very picky but I’m here to confirm the food is divine! Chef Nabil is so accommodating and made every meal an experience. Special shout out to the BBQ we had on the deck and the best chocolate soufflé I’ve ever had in my life (and I’ve tried many). The ship is stunning with a modern design and feels brand new. The tours were amazing! We learned a lot and just felt so grateful to experience ancient Egypt with Tamer’s knowledge & expertise and Ahmed’s impeccable organization! Thank you! Also, don’t forget to check out the shop on board (the gentleman who works there made me a custom gold necklace with my name in hieroglyphics). I’m completely serious when I say every single person on the cruise was beyond attentive and genuinely warm. I wish I could name everyone! Thank you Historia for the most incredible experience! I could go on and on…if you’re deciding whether or not to book - just do it!!! I’m so happy I decided to trust the reviews and go for it - it was beyond our expectations.Written January 18, 2024

I have never met such an amazing staff that make you feel at home and welcomed all the team, thank you to each and everyone of you including our guide! The food was so amazing and I didn’t want to miss anything .. it really showed that it was cooked professionally but also with an extra pinch of love, the kitchen staff especially the chef goes the extra mile especially during our cooking class .. This also counts for everyone else working on the boat including the concierge, waiters and cleaning staff - Thank you :) . I hope that we will have the chance to come back because you really gave us a once in life time experience ! The kindness, smiles and service were top notch! Couldn’t have wished for anything more special and a big thank you for the free upgrade - I was already over the moon when we were notified about this :) Wishing you all the best and success you wish for ! Had an amazing time on the Historia cruise. My wife and I were thankfully upgraded by the staff and we loved our experience. We arranged for tours through the concierge which I recommend to avoid issues with timing at each port. Our guide was Ahmed Elmahdy he was awesome. Met us at each port and taught us so much about ancient Egyptian culture and history. He was very personable and we shared a lot of stories that taught us about modern Egyptian culture and food. Would recommend you ask for him when you book he was excellent managing time and had connections that got us to the front of the line at several sites quickly.
The boat was a great experience food and service was amazing. Views spectacular as well. You'll notice the difference between Historia and other boats quickly and there's no comparison Historia is by far the best.
Boat was overhauled recently and quality of experience is top notch. Entertainment on the boat is great as well. I think the bar service can improve but it's not a trip killer for example the staff doesn't have the best grasp of cocktails but they learn quickly.
Overall 10/10 would recommend.

‘Welcome!’ We heard this hundreds of times the past week and it felt truly honest and from their hearts. From our tour guide Mohammed, our incredible chef Mohammed , happy and hospitable general manager Mohammed, and helpful concierge Mohammed, to our servers Omar, Mohammed, Ahmed and many more including our housekeepers and greeters. Each were helpful, caring, and their personality a delight. Welcoming us with smiles , cold towels, hibiscus and coconut teas. Whisking away my dress for a very quick press, cooking specials meals for my picky pescatarian diet, and making me tea while I was ill for day . We felt spoiled which is I think how you hope to feel on your dream holiday of a trip down the infamous River Nile ! The rooms are new and beautiful with beds facing the rivet. A treat for me while laying in bed sick one day , I could still enjoy the float down the Nile with views of miles of sugarcane and banana farms and fishermen working their trade. The food was amazing, perfectly spiced and beautifully presented. Too much so, that I’m sure we gained much more than a few Egyptian pounds over our 5 day excursion. The air conditioning cold and abundant, needed after hours in the midday sun. The nightly performances were varied and interesting , colorful and harmonic. Most guest enjoyed participating in dances and drumming , a fun addition to our already busy itinerary. We opted for a private tour guide , an Egyptologist (Mohammed ) with a masters degree, and a wealth of knowledge which he shared enthusiastically with us once or twice daily. We leave Egypt tomorrow, amazed by this countries beautiful treasures. One of which is the Historia Cruise and her incredible staff! Shukran Habibiis!!!

We had an incredible experience on the Historia during our girls trip.
Our guides, Kamal and Ahmed were an amazing team. They showed up promptly every morning and escorted us to each sight with an air conditioned van and unlimited water and soda throughout the day. Very fun and knowledgeable guides.
Our room was exceptional with more than enough space and unexpectedly huge bathrooms
Food was unforgettable. Lunch and dinner were multi course, creative and well prepared. The chef and restaurant staff would always ask if we had any food requests and even one night made us Indian food by request. They took extra care to make sure we were always enjoying our time
Overall, the staff throughout the ship was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were always smiling and asking us if we needed anything. They always remembered our coffee orders and knew us by name. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed. When boarding the ship we were always greeted with smiling staff offering juice, water, and cold hand towels. The entertainment on board included belly dancing, live music, and tea times
We highly recommend this cruise and will be doing it again

Everything from the boat, to the staff, to the 5 star food was an absolute dream. To start all of the staff members are so happy to work here and it shows. Every member constantly had smiles on their faces and they went above and beyond to accommodate everyone’s needs. This also shows in the chefs, waiters and the food prepared. Everyday we had a new lunch and dinner menu that was fantastic. Lunch was always an assortment of different types of foods, salads, and endless desserts. At dinner you would be served like you’re at a Michelin starred restaurant with a 4 course meal. They elevated are dining experience with an incredible violinist who played for all of the lunch and dinners throughout the trip. Additionally, the guided tours everyday were fantastic and informational. The boat also helped set up anything extra you might want to see.
I also wanted to throw a shoutout to the amazing staff members who made our stay memorable! El Azeb the boat manager is amazing and will help you with any requests and makes you feel like true royalty! Our waiters Emad the bar manager and Mohamed Ali you made all of our meals feel special. Our amazing tour guide Mona who was knowledgeable, well spoken and an overall amazing guide. We we’re so happy to have her for the entire week so we really got to know each other well and she was able to pivot the itinerary based on what we liked and didn’t like! Request Mona as your guide you won’t regret it! Also, shoutout to Historia for being the ONLY Nile River Cruise that allows women tour guides.
Lastly, we want to highlight Mustafa the night receptionist. Mustafa is the kindest person you will ever meet. He was so helpful with anything we needed. When he found out we just got engaged, he went above and beyond for us and on his spare time he went out and bought my Fiance and I a STUNNING papyrus portrait with our names engraved in hieroglyphics. This gift was so beyond special and is something we will always have and will forever cherish. The hospitality of all the staff was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.
This was one of our favorite vacations we’ve ever taken and it was because of Historia!

The Historia was a world class boat and much cleaner and newer than any of the other boats we saw on the Nile. The attention to detail was spectacular and the staff was unbeatable. They were friendly, enthusiastic, quick to respond, and took special note of our preferences throughout the trip. They arranged anything we needed. They linked us up with a private guide, Tamer Ibrahim, for the duration of the tour. Tamer was both professional and friendly and had impressive depth of knowledge on all things Egyptology. His passion and enthusiasm for his life’s work was contagious and we could not recommend him enough. Together, Tamer and the Historia made our trip unforgettable.

With special warmth we would like to express our gratitude to the entire staff of the Historia cruise for the first-class cuisine with a variety of themed breakfasts, lunches and dinners, ideal service, a luxurious new ship, and a picturesque journey along the Nile.
Special thanks to our guide Mahmoud, who gave us individual excursions for 4 days in Luxor, Edfu, Esna and Aswan. Mahmud speaks Russian fluently, calmly leads the tour without haste, listens to wishes, and after each part of the program he takes free time to walk around the attraction, take photos, and relax. Each excursion left only pleasant impressions. We recommend Mahmoud as a professional, experienced Russian-speaking guide to historical places in Egypt.
We traveled in comfortable cars from Historia with good drivers. Tickets for each location were purchased separately for us in advance; we did not stand in lines anywhere.
The cruise program turned out to be very rich, colorful, harmonious and definitely justified its cost.

Booking your Nile cruise can be a difficult task as there are a lot of things to consider: the departure & arrival date of the boats, the stops, the places that you want to see with the guide, the size of the groups and also the time in the year, as summer in Egypt is really hot but at the same time you find yourself with small crowds, and small groups.
Above all, choosing the right boat is the most crucial decision as it affects the comfort of the cabins, the level of the service on board, the quality and safety of the food, the cleanliness in all areas, and the look-and-feel in the boat, where you are going to spend quite some time.
After careful consideration we chose Historia and did the 4day-3nights Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor and we never regretted it!
Having just returned, we are happy to confirm all the positive reviews we read from previous guests: the quality, variety and delicate touch of the food, the cleanliness and comfort in the cabins and in all the areas, and the style which we found very modern but at the same time casual. The upper deck was a blast, especially during the 2nd day that the boat traveled from Aswan to Luxor and there was enough wind to enjoy the time. The boat itself has few cabins compared to other ones, which means fewer crowds in all areas.
Above all, we were overwhelmed by the nicest approach of the ENTIRE crew. They were all friendly and polite but at the same time sincere and open. We even had some nice conversations that we really enjoyed and were happy to understand that the boat company is taking a good care of them and they enjoy their work.
Some additional point: Historia has its own dock in Luxor and in Aswan and will never need to park next to other boats like other cruise boats do.
If your budget allows it we recommend it 100%.

Some additional point: Historia has its own dock in Luxor and in Aswan and will never need to park next to other boats like other cruise boats do.
If your budget allows it we recommend it 100%.

The days on the Historia were great for us.
The ship is new, well maintained and clean. There is enough space in the restaurant, bar and on deck. The cabins are practically furnished and comfortable. The air conditioning works well and easily compensates for the pleasingly large window that covers an entire wall of the room.
The fitness center is small. There are 2 treadmills and a few dumbbells, so enough for a little exercise between sightseeing, but not for sports fanatics. There is also a treadmill on deck, but summer Egypt was too warm for that.
Despite the high temperatures, summer in Egypt is a recommended time to travel. There are far fewer tourists and you can enjoy the sights without crowds.
There were also relatively few guests on board the Historia, which probably benefited the service.
It was outstanding and we were impressed. The team was exceptionally attentive and courteous.
After each excursion we were given cool, damp towels to refresh ourselves and were greeted with a typical Egyptian soft drink. On deck, staff kept coming to the loungers to ask if we needed drinks or anything else. The freshly prepared lemonade was always delicious. Although we hadn't booked all-inclusive, the non-alcoholic drinks were free and there were plenty of them.
The staff in the bar and restaurant were friendly throughout and the service left nothing to be desired.
The food was also outstanding. We have rarely eaten so well, varied and delicious. The recommended wines were also of exceptional quality.
It is also special that the Historia always has its own berth and you don't have to go through other ships to enter it or have guests from other ships cross it at the quay. Otherwise, rows of 3-4 ships in a row at the same berth are the norm.
All in all, we can only recommend a trip on the Historia and plan to travel on it again soon. There is still a lot to see in Egypt that is not included in the standard program.

Everything was amazing. Truly 5-star and one of the best ships on the Nile. Everything from the common areas and guest cabins, to the amenities and offerings felt new and luxurious. The service from all the staff, Omar in particular, our guide Mo Ramadan and the Executive Chef was truly something special offering service and empathy you cannot find at even the most selective hotels and resorts in the world. The food was like dining in a Michelin Star restaurant everyday. Don't think twice when booking this cruise.

It was a bad experience with this boat because it was so Racist treatment for guides. They make a differant time for eating and different meals that not listed in the menu and they put more than guide in one room. They make charges for tea and hot drinks in the bar and the other clients for free.,it's not fair treatment.. They ask for tip from the guests. And they have high noisy vibration in last section near the motors.
