- parisca0 contributionsTravelers BewareTRAVELERS BEWARE. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. THEY SELL YOU A DREAM VACATION AND THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU GET AND TO TOP IT OFF, WE DID NOT FEEL SAFE AND HAD NO COMMUNICATION OR RECOURSE WITH THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I have been to over 60 countries and Tour Radar is absolutely the worst company I have ever traveled with. We hired Tour Radar, because as two women traveling in the Middle East, we were concerned about safety. And this company randomly dropped us off to two unidentified men in an unmarked minivan in the middle of the desert that was not on any itinerary other than “transfer”. The following day, we were left at the camp with no information and were expected to wait for a “transfer”. We inquired multiple times about who and when with no response. Again - no communication. Next, we purchased a flight upgrade to replace a 10 hr drive. The flight upgrade did not in fact, get us to our destination any earlier but in fact much later and was not an upgrade at all. We suspect it was a way to compensate again for poor planning and to take more of our money - again no communication. Next, they gave us the incorrect flight info on the itinerary and never corrected it or apologized, and in fact argued it was correct when it was not. Again- poor communication and failure to acknowledge fault Next, we arrived finally at a hotel hours later due to poor planning on the tour company’s part, to a hotel with no toilet paper, clean towels, or plugs/chargers for our phones- absolutely disgusting! How is this acceptable? Time after time, this company refused to acknowledge any problems with their reservations, itinerary, or inability to contact anyone for help. How can a company like this stay in business as it is so unreputable? Their response? We do not use What’s App. We do not monitor message board nights or weekends. After 5 weeks of attempting to find a resolution, there was none. All they said was “We gave you the services you purchased.” Their customer service is truly the worst I have ever experienced during and after the trip. PLEASE AVOID IS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, THEY WILL RUIN YOUR VACATION AS THEY DID OURS. I could not find the exact tour here, but we hired Tour Radar for a trip from Israel to Jordan to Egypt and I want to warn any travelers considering going with this companyWritten August 9, 2023
- M W0 contributionsTour Radar and Getaways Egypt are very dodgy companiesBooked ‘Footsteps Of The Pharaohs - Included Internal Flights’ by Getaways Egypt through Tourradar as it had good reviews on their website. The initial process of booking was very easy. Issues started to arise before we started the tour. Firstly, we had little to no communication on when the tour company Getaways Egypt was going to pick us up, we only found out 20 mins before we were picked up who was going to pick us up. The hotel staff that we were staying at were so concerned that we had been scammed they almost contacted the Egyptian tourist police. Getaways Egypt then tried to scam us with 55US in tipping fees, which was not stated in the itinerary. When I provided them with feedback the director Ahmed told me the tipping fee was to pay staff. I told him that it is not the tourists' problem to pay staff. The tour guides on our way to Alexandria tried to make the group feel guilty about not paying them the 55US. Everyone who did not pay the 55US still stood their ground, other tour members felt angry that they were scammed. When we asked the drivers and for example cruise staff, they told us that they never receive any tips from the tour operators, and only from the tourists that way provide services. This meant that Getaways Egypt was scamming tourists. The 125US dollars they charged us for site entries was a complete scam. Our entry fees to all sites were less than approximately 60US dollars. On every site entry, the government notification clearly stated, 'do not pay tour operators more than entry fees stated on government websites'. We were also overcharged for an additional tour we did not book, under a tour that we had booked; it was only because one of the tour guides mentioned that we had an additional tour, and were we made aware of the additional charges. We did get a refund after we complained. The tour promised 4 and star accommodation, it was 2 stars at best except for the beginning and end of the tour, where the hotel was 3 stars. Tour guides tried to even scam our group into buying sim cards. Dietary requirements were not taken into consideration either. The management of the itinerary was also very poor. On the first day in Alexandria, we ended up missing out on some of the itineraries because they picked us up 1 1/2 hours after the time, they told us to leave. Because other tour members and I complained they tried to keep to timings, however, we had little to no time at most sites. Getaways Egypt excuse ‘there is a lot of traffic on in Egypt’. I have travelled around the world and been on many tours, and not one tour company made excuses for being late because of traffic. Because of the poor management of the trip, some members ended up leaving the tour early in disgust. I tried to review the tour on TourRadar, however, my review has been pending for over a month. This tells me that they are not open to feedback and are hiding many honest reviews from customers. I wonder if the 4 and 5-star reviews were from people they know and not actual customers. I have placed a complaint with TourRadar and still waiting for a response.Written March 5, 2023
- marciam3550 contributionsYou will be sorry! If you want to have sleepless nights and to spend 50 hours planning your Saudi trip, book a tour with Tour Radar. I made the mistake of booking a tour through Tour Radar who subcontracted the tour to 88 Destinations to Saudi Arabia. Two weeks after I made the payment, the 88 Desitnations notified me that they were “trying to cancel” the tour. They offered 2 new dates, and a totally different tour on both dates. What’s the point of reviewing tours, choosing a tour with the sites that you are interested in, so that the tour company can offer a perfectly different tour? After I cancelled the tour, Tour Radar and 88 Destinations would only give a credit towards another tour if I cancelled 45 days or less. Why would I book another tour if the tour company couldn’t honor the dates of their tour? 88 Destinations offered no reasons for “trying to cancel” the tour. Then I had to organize the hotel, train, taxi, sites, and restaurants for the trip—exactly the opposite of what I had intended when I paid TourRadar thousands of dollars. It took me 50 HOURS to make all the travel arrangements in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi, no one responds to the bullet Haramain train Contact Us messages. I discovered that two hotels only respond to whatsapp, not to emails, no matter how many emails you send. I ended up losing the first hotel reservation because there was no response to my emails. But the second hotel also would not respond to emails. So I ended up with the second hotel. It cost me $100 more than the first hotel, and the second hotel offered NO breakfast! If you book with TourRadar, the tour operator can cancel at will, leaving you in the lurch. You will be sorry—as sorry as I am!Written February 12, 2023
- roslynj720 contributionsDon't use Tour RadarWe booked this tour through Tour Radar. It's our first night in Arusha and they did a bait and switch. First they picked us up from the airport and had no water or anything for us and the ride to the hotel was an hour and a half....after 2 days of traveling to get here. Good thing I asked because the answer prompted me to go to the restroom before we got in the truck. We were so happy to get to our hotel after long travel days. Here is where there was a major issue our first night. The tour company did a bait and switch. The hotel in the itinerary was listed at $254/night. The hotel they took us to is listed at $113/night. A HUGE difference!! We were supposed to be all inclusive for dinner. The hotel person told me drinks (soda and water) were not included and that we needed to pay $24 for drinks. After I asked how much for each drink, I realized he was overcharging me and IF we had to pay it was only supposed to be $14. We booked for 2 twin beds and they put us in a room with 1 full bed. We then realized the air in the room didn't work. We called and he initially told us it was broken. He then came with a remote and got it to kinda work but the room never cooled down. At this point it was 2 am and I was dying to take a shower but I realized there were no face towels/wash cloths. After a long time searching, the gentleman told me he could not find them and to use a hand towel. I told him to bring me scissors and I would cut the hand towel into face towels. He wouldn't let me. Very disappointed, I'm so tired, I agree just so I can get in the shower.....finally. Upon finally getting the water temperature right, I realize every time I touch the metal soap dish or the metal lever to adjust and turn the shower on, I get shocked/electrocuted!!! At this point I am most upset and fearful of getting hurt badly or killed, I abruptly end my shower and ask my friend to reach out to the tour operator and insist he come to get us. Instead the hotel person offers to put us in another room. We then pack up all of our stuff to move to another room at 3am!! I am waiting to talk to the tour guide when he comes to the hotel this morning. I hope this is fixed quickly because the first night has been awful, just like our accomodations. As you can imagine the amenities match the cost. The bed is awful and you can hear the mattress springs when you move. Tour Radar Burigi Safaris, this is a really bad start!! Please fix this at once. Its 4 days later and I am now at a service station as our tour vehicle has broken down and the tour operator is insisting we pay for all hotels for the next 6 days. Your staff can't reach the operator and say there is nothing yiu can do. You have left us stranded in Tanzania and we have paid $8,000, $12,000 including airfare.Written January 11, 2023
- THECPDGUY0 contributionsTour radar averageWhy average, i found out Tour radar is the middle man for travel, you book with them and they find a company to match your trip. they are not not much more than that; you contact them, they contact the tour and get back; just a middle man. thus, not a 5, now the tour group was very good but i found out I could have booked with them. i did a 9 day Egypt trip and it was very good. It was a learning experience , you do not meet the tour company until you arrive; I was surprised to find this out. Again the tour company was very good, just would have like to deal with them from the startWritten November 15, 2022
- YolandaG1290 contributionsTour RadarWe used Tour Radar during our tour in Italy. They arranged the tours to Rome, Pompeii and Amalfi Coast. The best one was Amalfi coast with nice hotel accommodations. Side tours of Capri was great and our tour guide Marco Bellavie was able to arrange to see the Blue Lagoon.Written February 11, 2020
