          Excellent and enjoyable experience
A cruise of 5 days 4 nights. An enjoyable experience with excellent food, great care, clean rooms, and friendly company. Relaxing, rich, and culture enhancing cruise. I advise you to take Salacia ship for your Nile cruise. Hospitality is run by Tayee, ever smiling, quick, funny, and active character.

          Beautiful and comfortable boat
I was lucky enough to receive a free upgrade from Memphis Tours for the Nile cruise, and am extremely grateful. The Salacia is a beautiful retro-style boat, with wooden interiors and classic furniture. I had booked a single cabin but was given a suite (again, thank you Memphis Tours, especially my wonderful travel consultant Rabab Taha Hassan!) which was roomy and very comfortable, with a huge and super-comfy bed, a lounge area, and not one but two bathrooms. I found it very clean and well-organised, and the cabin was tidied up everyday while I was out. The bedlinen was very soft and there was even a bathrobe, but no slippers. The staff was efficient and friendly, one of the waiters was over-familiar and had to be snubbed but in general they were very professional. The maitre is simply amazing. The food was pretty good, I would have liked the opportunity to sample more Egyptian desserts. I wish there'd been fresh orange juice instead of concentrate at breakfast, but this seemed to be the norm in all the hotels I stayed in, except Le Meridien at Cairo Airport which finally served freshly squeezed juice. One thing to emphasise is that I ate a lot of fresh fruit, especially melon, on the boat, and had no tummy issues at all. I read reviews commenting on the dated decor and the age of the boat. Personally I found this very attractive, but if you're looking for a sleek modern look the Salacia is not for you.

A unique experience along the river nile on M/S Salacia
My wife and her mother and I took a Nile cruise on the Nile from Luxor on the M/S Salasia one of the unique ships sailing on the river nile in Egypt between Luxor and Aswan. It took 5 days and 4 nights from Luxor to Aswan. During the boat stop in Luxor, you can visit the Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple and the western mainland, including tombs and temples, the most important of which is Tutankhamun tomb. The boat stops at the city of Edfu to visit the temple of Edfu and stops at the city of Kom Ombo to visit the temple of Kom Ombo. During the stop in Aswan, you can visit the High Dam, the Temple of Philae and the Nubian Village We spent 5 days, which were like the days of the Thousand and One Nights Legend. The team that works on this ship is more than wonderful and the service is beyond imagination, making you fly above the clouds. The manager Mohamed Elkashlan leads his team with the utmost love. The cook prepares food with a variety that is more than wonderful and very delicious. The catering team is extremely polite and dedicated to work, espesially the metrdotel Naseem and the beverage caterer Taeea. The room service team is doing its job to the fullest. The cleanliness in the rooms is beyond excellent and in every place on the boat. Stretching on the deck, sunbathing and observing the nile river as the ship sailed was wonderful and the service on deck was superb. On the 3rd day they prepared the Lunch on deck. We had an open buffet in the three mails (breakfast, lunch and dinner). I can't also forget Mr. Ahmed the front office man in the reception for his very friendly attitude. Each room is twice the size of any other ship at the same level, and they are all suites, not ordinary rooms. There is also a royal suite four times larger than a room in another boat with a dining room, salon, bar, bathroom and a separate bedroom with bathroom.

Memphis Tours 5 day 4 night Dahabiya Nile Cruise
This five-day four-night Dahabiya cruise from Memphis Tours from Luxor to Aswan was a perfect introduction to an amazing country. Memphis Tours arranged everything from picking us up at our hotel to dropping us off at the airport and even escorting us the to check in counter at the airport. Wow! what else can I say. Our personal tour guide Abanoub Nazmi was awesome! He was knowledgeable, punctual, funny, and made sure we had a wonderful time. Abanoub is extremely knowledgeable with the historical sites, the city and its culture and we always felt very safe around him because he knows so many people. I would highly recommend anyone traveling to Luxor/Aswan through Memphis tours and if you are blessed to have Abanoub as your tour guide you will defiantly not be disappointed. And to the staff of the Dahabiya Amoura thank you, the food your hospitality and safety was amazing. This was our trip to Egypt and would gladly recommend and use Memphis tours again. Book it! You will be very happy you did! PS.. We were there in the wintertime so please pack a heavy jacket because the nights do get cold.

          Awesome experience
We did this the day after the West Bank, both tours with Memphis and the same guide and driver. Really looked after us and tailored the tour to what we wanted. Our guide Beshoy was very experienced and knowledgable while allowing us plenty of free time to just enjoy the experience too. Door to door transport in a comfortable car felt very safe. Karnak and Luxor temples of course are a must if you are here and completely live up to expectations. A lot has been reconstructed using all the original material that was buried and done in a very sympathetic way, to show the full awe of the locations without looking like a remodel. Breathtaking really. Memphis tours as always are brilliant to use and would very much recommend them and their guides

Memphis tours are the go to guides
Going to the West Bank is a must, it can get busy but that’s the same of all the locations. Having a good tour guide is essential to arrange everything making the whole journey seamless. Great communication in the lead up to confirm collection times and location, all tickets bought in advance (except for any extras that you may want, but they support buying these too), comfortable transport and provisions along the way. Lead straight to the best areas with great explanation of the history and interesting facts. I’ve used Memphis tours a number of times now and all have been a great experience.

Egypt is safe, and a must see.
Memphis Tours really delivers. Their attention to details is unsurpassed. From the food to the accommodations everything is five star. Our tour guide Hany was so knowledgeable and kind. I toured Egypt in 2016 with Zahi Hawass, so the bar was set high, and he boy did he deliver. If you are planning to see Egypt I highly recommend Memphis Tours, but make sure and ask for Hany as your guide. You will not be disappointed.

Tour Guide, Hany Refaat, saved this trip!
We sailed with a group of friends from Luxor to Aswan on the M.S. Salacia. SHIP The vessel is outdated, lacking modern comfort and conveniences. The dining, spa and cabin staff were excellent. The reception staff were not personable and were lacking good communication skills. There was a good variety of options at every meal to meet the dietary preferences of our group. TOURS/ GUIDE Our tour guide, Hany Refaat, saved this trip! As an Egyptologist with a PHD he had in depth knowledge of every site we visited. He was passionate and patient teacher. We really enjoyed our time with him! Overall we had a great trip. We felt safe and found the majority of Egyptian people to be warm and welcoming.

          Cruise from Aswan to Luxor
We really enjoyed our cruise from Aswan to Luxor. The Sonesta Moon Goddess was good however the boat itself it was a bit dated and old. The staff were great though so that made up for it. Hany Refaat was our tour guide for 4 days. It was just my husband and I, but Hany treated us just as well as a bigger group. He showed us amazing parts of temples that aren’t usually visited by the crowds, such as the first ever zoo behind Karnak Temple. He made sure that we beat the crowds as much as possible even thought it was out of his control. Hany had the most extensive knowledge about all the temples and sights, as well as about Egypt in general. I noticed people from other groups listening in while he talked as he had such a passion about the history of the temples. I cannot recommend Hany more highly, he was fantastic.

          Absolutely perfect
We spent 4 days aboard her and loved it all. The crew is awesome. Their goal is to make the guests very comfortable and they exceed at every level. The ship may be dated but that truly adds to the charm of your voyage. It is very clean. Ignore the pictures of those complaining. It is clean. Again, it’s an older ship so there aren’t luxury showers in the cabins. The bed was very comfortable. Food was incredible. We toured Egypt for 3 weeks and the best food we’ve had was aboard the boat. Crew really go out of their way to make you happy. We’d come back to Egypt just to sail her again.

          Marwa and Osha the best!
We had a two day tour of Luxor with our tour guide Marwa Ali, she was amazing and so knowledgeable. We really enjoyed her company and learnt so much, the experience wouldn't have been the same without her. I cant recommend her highly enough. Our driver for the two days was Osha, he was fabulous and so kind and friendly. We want to say a huge thank you to both of them for making our stay so wonderful.

          Aswan to Luxor with Hany
My wife and I traveled to Egypt for a friends wedding so we decided to make the most of our journey. We were told a Nile cruise is the best way to see and experience this beautiful country. After exploring Cairo for a few days, we booked a 4 day Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. When we arrived we were paired with Hany. Hany was our guide for the next four days, and he was incredible. He has encyclopedic knowledge of the temples. You will learn so much with him as your guide. We recommend going from Aswan to Luxor so you can end with the most amazing sites. Valley of Kings was the most impressive site in our opinion. The ancient colored walls are a sight to behold. One aspect of traveling in Egypt is the shops and bartering. Hany helped make sure we never got taken advantage of and sent us to the vendors with the best reputation and quality goods. Egypt is a beautiful country with an vibrant and friendly culture.

          Very Kind Crew, personalised service
We just recently did the Nile cruise tour with MS Salacia via our private tour package with Memphis Tours. The MS Salacia is an old dame. A small classic river cruise that gives us vibes of the 80s, and had a small crew managing it. We felt very welcomed and well taken care of - because they were attentive to our needs as a young family with a toddler. The staff who served and managed our F&B everyday were especially kind to our young child and also went out of their way for us when I had a slight mishap on one of the temple excursions and returned with an injured ankle. While the cruise might not be the newer nicer ones, we were happy with our stay on the MS Salacia. Rooms were clean, pool deck was fun and we all had fun. Our big thanks to the very kind crew for taking care of us, and Memphis Tours for arranging everything.

We recommend Ahmed & Memphis tours
Our experience of Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan was amazing and we will recommend it to anyone who is looking for some relaxation along with the history of Egypt. Memphis did a great job in organising it and even customised the itinerary and added Abu Simbel as wanted to visit it. And, this experience was even better as we had Ahmed with us. Ahmed is a very knowledgeable guide with an amazing attitude and ethic. I don’t know the other guides, but can say undoubtedly that he is one of the best.

Just back from a Memphis tours 19 day Egyptian holiday.
My wife and I started in Luxor and travelled in a mini bus with our guide Ashraf and driver Bahaa.
Ashraf is the guide you want as nothing stopped him from getting us the best imaginable tour.
Bahaa our driver navigated the roads through all of the towns and village expertly. As crazy as those roads are we made it without a scratch because of Bahaa.
Day one we started with an Egyptian breakfast roadside (very tasty) as well we had a hotel box breakfast. Our first temple was Dendara then to Abydos. We spent the night in Minya for an early morning adventure to El Amarna and Beni Hassan tombs. If you want to see Egypt you should start here. It’s a couple of long days but so worth it.
Back to Luxor to see Medinet Habu temple, Nobles and Workers tombs, spectacular reliefs another great outing.
Balloon ride in Luxor valley at day break, we looked down on Queen Hatshepsut funerary complex. Which we visited in the afternoon along with the valley of the Kings and Queens. Felucca and horse carriage ride in Luxor was a lot fun. With a trip to the market for tea in the evening. Said goodbye to Ashraf and started another adventure out of Luxor. Expectations where high as we had a fantastic experience so far.
4 nights cruise on M/S Salacia from Luxor to Aswan with stops at Edfu and Kom Ombo. Boat was dated is an understatement but it was clean and comfy.
Aswan sites and a 3 day stay at the Mövenpick Aswan resort on Elephantine island. Very good accommodation with a balcony view of the first cataract of the Nile.
Next onto the M/S Prince Abbas and a Lake Nasser Cruise 4 nights. This is the best boat working on the lake by far. Very enjoyable. Visited Kalabsha, Wadi El Seboua Amada temples on our way to Abu Simbel. By far the pinnacle of the tour.
Ahmed from Memphis tours put this all together after we gave him our wish list.
He and his crew in the field did a fantastic job and we can’t say enough about it. They were all very professional and thorough. If more than 5 stars is available they deserve it.

Wonderful experience! Where do I start... It was very adventurous and educational among all the beauty of Egypt. My now fiancé (yes he proposed on this trip in front of the pyramids! : )
and his mother and I enjoyed every bit of it. And I tell you without the help and guidance of Memphis tours we would be lost. A few of the guides did stick out: Marwa very attentive and kind educated us well at the museum. She took many pictures of and with us! Mohammed Afifi made sure whatever we needed was taken care of smoothly from getting from place to place and check ins and hotels etc, along with his fun driver Ahmed playing popular music of Egypt during our drives who was always friendly and smiling!
Lastly, Hany Refaat! He is a very special person to give all his time early mornings and with great patience. He planned everything to accomadate our group individually and as a whole. As an egyptologist, I can tell he is one of the best. He has shared so much knowledge to our group we can take home to share. Overall, he reconciled any issues we had along the way, educated us, laughed with us, and showed great comradery among the entire group.
The crusie ship was amazing including the food, the fun Egyptian night dancing, and the room service attendant surprising us with towel animals : ) please see photos attached explains it all including the photo of Hany we took of him getting some rest.
        Very thankful,
        Christine, Jason, and Gladys

Then there was the final leg of our adventure with Yasser. Even though every one we encountered up to this point was an A+ Yasser was able to make our final leg truly unforgettable.
He had a special twinkle and his passion was unyielding. What impressed us most with Yasser was his genuine kindness and pure heart that was so obvious in his spoken and unspoken communication. His love of his country and people was so pure and sincere. The way and mannerisms in which he spoke you could feel the passion he had for life and his fellow man. He only saw good in everything and we all have been so touched by his heart of gold. We distinctly remember him describing the Nubians as some of the most beautiful and kind people that existed . Yasser’s passion with Egyptology was also unmatched. He could talk forever about the history. We all learned so much from him and we all fell in love with this country through his eyes. Yasser spoke from the heart and he blessed us in a way that is hard to describe or explain. To Yasser: You touched each and everyone of us in a special way!! We will keep fond memories of our time with you forever in our hearts. Never change ….your soul is pure and good. Continue to bless people with all you have to offer.

My girlfriend and I went for 12 days in Egypt, and without a doubt the best part of the trip was the 4 days we had in Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan. Besides the beautiful scenery and great accomodation in Steigenberger Legacy boat, the days were filled with great history lessons and guide to the past thanks to our assigned Egyptologist Hany Refaat.

We were so lucky to have someone like Hany accompany us. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the ancient and modern Egypt history. We learned a lot thanks to him. After the busy days we would hang out also in the boat to chat about topics of the day, anything related to modern Egyptian history, or even just chit chat as friends. Great person all around, gives you space to enjoy the place, speaks perfect English, and has a great sense of humor.

I would strongly recommend to anyone going to Egypt to do the Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, and on top of everything insist on having Hany Refaat as your guide. I can't recommend him enough.

It's important to have a good guide when doing the historic Luxor and the scenic Aswan. We were ably led by Khaled Mohasab, who articulates English clearly and was flexible to accommodate one member from our group who had walking difficulties. What's more , Khaled was able to explain to us the historical significance of the area and the meaning of different wall inscriptions at the Edfu, Kom Ombo Temples, Valley of the Kings so that we had a memorable visit in Aswan and Luxor . (Our first guide was grumpy, and we couldn't hear his narratives , necessitating a request for change ). He was also tasked to lead a group of 20people till our group members complained , requesting to be split to 2 groups.

Took a nine-day trip booked with Memphis that started in Cairo and ended with a cruise down the Nile and Abu Simbel. The trip was a once in a lifetime trip with my son and went off without any issues. Our guide for the Nile cruise and Abu Simbel was Abdo Esmael. He spoke perfect English and was extremely knowledgeable about all the sites we visited along the way. He was more like traveling with a close friend from the region rather than a hired guide. He helped us every step of the way and gave us a memory that will last forever. Thank You again my friend.

Our Egyptologist was Hany Refaat and he made the whole experience coe alive through his knowledge of the histories and characters involved. Hany was more than an Egyptologist - he immediately became part of our group and his friendly humour was part of the experience. He also sorted any issues that arose, very professional and highly recommended.
Our group was put together by the company and we were thirteen in total. The group was well-selected and we all quickly became friends. Also, Hany ensured that noone felt left out in the background.
This trip with Memphis Tours, Sonesta Moon Goddess and Hany Refaat comes highly recommended!

My friend and I had the BEST time on our trip! Our Luxor tour coordinator Shreef Ammar did such an amazing job getting everything ready for us. He rolled with the punches and made everything for us relaxed and fun! Wa’el was our tour guide and was the BEST!! So funny and kind, patient and knowledgeable. Amazing trip!!
We also spent our last few days in Cairo with Tarek - incredible tour!!! Tarek was knowledgeable, curious, thoughtful and insightful - a total scholar! Ahmed Mostafa coordinated the Cairo section of our tour and was sooo helpful and awesome. At one point we needed to make a hotel change, he got on it immediately and had us in a new spot before we knew it. So appreciative for everyone who helped us do this once in a lifetime journey!!

We had an amazing trip from Luxor to Aswan and Abu Simbel. Hany, our guide, was a wealth of historical and cultural information. We viewed these sites and left with an appreciation of the architecture and ancient knowledge of the people that built and inhabited these structures. This is a once in a lifetime experience, and our guide really brought the history to life.

As a child, I wished to visit the great Temple at Abu Simbel. This September I fulfilled my dream on a fantastic one day trip Beginning in the early morning from my Hotel, the Old Cataract in Aswan (highly recommended). My Memphis Tours guide Waleed organized the trip and and we were off. A box breakfast was provided and a few hours later by road, we were there. Waleed, a an expert Egyptologist, guided me through the site and detailed it’s ancient history and recent past. Following Abu Simbel, we return to Aswan and Waleed ( a native of Aswan) showed me the best shops to find the best Egyptian cotton fabrics in all of Aswan. Thanks Waleed and Memphis tours for a wonderful trip.
