- Austin G00SpectacularThe best part of the cruise was the guided tours. Owf Naggar is an amazing tour guide. His attention to detail is exceptional. He has amazing knowledge of ancient and current history. You will not be disappointed with him as a tour guide .
- aekrfk00If you can get permission worth the visit after Aswan High DamIt was not easy to go see Kalabsha Temple but we are glad we did. It is on Lake Nasser and there are military restrictions since you have to take a boat on the lake near the dam. Our guide got us permission after 30 minutes of security examining of our passports and trap itinerary. I do not think we would have gotten permission if it was not on the formal itinerary. You take a 15 minute leisurely boat ride to the island where there is the Kalabasha Temple and several other Temples . They were all moved like Abu Simbel due to the Aswan Dan and Lake Nasser. They would be under water otherwise. There was nobody else on the island unlike the hoards of people visiting other sites. The Temple is not the most impressive but the design was similar to the great temples we saw later on. It was just nice having quiet time with our guide without crowds giving us a history lesson.
- PETER L00Cruise exceeded all my expections. Amazing, awesome experience.More than met my expectations, the cruise was amazing. Big modern and very comfortable room. Meals were amazing, especially the sweets. All the staff went out of their to make the cruise enjoyable. My guide Ahmed was always on hand to arrange things, setting up meeting times and places, and advising of the days itinery. Never had to worry about anything, Ahmed was always in control of events .It could be a bit chaotic when leaving the boat for tours, but Ahmed always managed to keep it simple. Then had his knowledge to share when visiting the temples. Pick up and drop off to hotels was included.
- J2991EUpeterl00The cruise exceeded all my expectations. Amazing, awesome. The Nile cruise exceeded my expections. The room was modern and very comfortable. The meals were outstanding. All the cruise staff went out of their way to make the cruise awesome. Ahmed my guide, was great to have along. Organised everything so well. Gave daily updates on what was happening, and what stops for tours. Always kept me upto date. Times to be ready and where to meet. Then had his knowledge for the temple tours.
- Guyll H00TrapWe booked a tour for 3 night for 290 euros and asked us to pay 150 euros more because they supposed they don t have place whereas the sold the trip for 290 euros
- Elisa F00Thank you Hamdy! These three days have been amazing! We started our trip with the visit of Luxor (temple of Karnak, temple of Hatshepsut and the Valley of the kings). Then we started our cruise and the view was amazing and extremely relaxing. The second day we did a stop in edfu and then in Kom Ombo, to visit the two temples there. In the evening we finally arrived in Aswan. The third day we did a beautiful tour of Aswan High Dam and the Philae Temple. Everything was amazing especially thanks to our wonderful guide Hamdy who guided us during these three days, explaining us everything and answering to our several questions! We absolutely recommend a trip with this company :)

- juliejules2500Wow!We were picked up from our hotel and taken across the Nile to a waiting mini bus. We were then taken to a drop off point to wait for the balloon to be inflated. It was all so professional and safe. Our pilot was brilliant, explained everything and we felt so safe. The ride was magical, we saw the sunrise over the Nile and and rise to 2000ft, sometimes dipping down and skimming the top of crops! We floated over Queen Hatshepsut's temple, what a view! Such an incredible experience. When it finished we were taken back to the boat and dropped off at our hotel ( Winter Palace) for breakfast. After breakfast we were then taken by mini bus to the Valley of the Kings accompanied by our fabulous guide Ahmed Abass. He started explaining all the history and showing photos in the mini bus but accompanied us all around Queen Hatshepsut's temple, describing everything and bringing the history to life, with such an in depth knowledge, nothing like you can read on the Internet! We then drove to the Valley of the Kings where he continued to impress us with his knowledge and we visited three tombs. His English is superb and he was a great host. We had time for refreshments in a bedouin style cafe in the Valley of the Kings before being dropped off at our hotel. All the time - before, during and after the tour - we were updated and contacted via What's app. It was very professional and we can't recommend the company, Star Balloons and our guide Ahmed for the tour, enough. All 5* A fantastic experience, thank you!
- benjaminahn00The best way to visit the most in EgyptThe sites around Egypt are spread out, in different small towns along the Nile. The cruise is the BEST way to do a trip through Egypt (spend a night or 2 in Cairo as well). - sites: you see some incredible sites! All the sites were incredible, and if you do it with a guide, they arrange the individual taxis/transportation to get to each site once the boat docks. I didn't go to Abu Simbel, but to me, a temple is a temple after a while, and it's a far drive. - tour guide: this is the most important. You gotta do it with Mohammed Shakour. I read about him in some other reviews, and I'm glad I got him as my tour guide. Incredibly knowledgeable. Yeah, many tour guides are, but you can really see Mohammed's passion for his country and history, and he'll give you more information/answer your questions if you want (more than the other tour guides around me). He's also someone you can TRUST. In this country, I've had other tour guides who literally work with camel scammers, and they pressure their own clients into these traps. Mohammed is an honest guy with taxi prices, tourist advice. And he's got a great pace when touring the sites. Detailed, but manages to finish the sites with plenty of time for us to still enjoy before getting back to the boat. - the boat: it's "5 stars" Egyptian standard (not American standard) but it's not as bad as some reviews say. Comfortable and clean beds. AC doesn't always work, but it works enough. Clean showers. A nice sun deck. The food is hot and tasty. It does the job!
- hquintana198500Experience a phenomenal tour with great peopleThis was an amazing experience. Everything was as described and our guide Ahmed really gave us a fascinating and detailed narrative of the sites visited. The hot air balloon ride was breathtaking. I will remember this tour for the rest of my life.
- jennydM9229EU00Great transport hub from Aswan to Luxor. Had a lovely time!My friend and I book this 2 Night Nile river cruise from Aswan to Luxor. We had a great time! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The boat was well maintained and comfortable. We are from the US..we often are spoiled with great cruise ships so you cant compare apples and oranges. Some people expect 5 stars as US standards, that's not the case here..but it is 5 stars for Egypt standards. For what we paid and for what was included:food, tours, room and board it was a fantastic deal for the accommodation we got. We were really happy with our arrangement and time on this Nile Cruise and would do it again. This is a good transport hub if you're going to Luxor or vice versa to Aswan. You'll probably pay the same hiring a private car to take you there...why not do it on this cruise where you're pampered with a nice cabin, spectacular views, and 3 meals a day? The food is really good and has great variety. It's a win win! This company made everything very easy..from communication to after the cruise to ensure we were having a great time and if we needed assistance for after the cruise activities. I cant recommend this company enough. Contact them directly, they are friendly and professional. Here Egypt Tours.
- Jiffy00400Definitely not 5 starWe booked this tour based on the reviews, photos and the fact that this is a TripAdvisor company. We were extremely disappointed. Our guide Mohammed was excellent, hence the 2 stars, but that is where it ends. If it wasn't for him we would have jumped ship on day 1. Our boat, The Lady Mary, was anything but 'luxury'. It is stated as 5 star and it most certainly is not. The cabins are a good size, but they are old. The bedding had been used way too many times and the sheets were pilly. The doona is not a doona or a blanket. I think it was some kind of foam. The bed was old and saggy. The pillows lumpy. The bathroom was tiny with a triangular shaped shower in the corner. I do not know how half the people on the boat even fit into it. There are no amenities except for a liquid soap dispenser on the wall. No one ever mentioned you need to provide your own shampoo. The 'air-conditioning' was not air-conditioning. After enquiring as to why we were just getting very cold air regardless of what setting we used, we were told it does not produce cool air or warm air, it simply blows in air from outside, which in March is very cold, especially at night. I would hate to be in that claustrophobic box in summer! The photos we saw showed cabins with Juliette balconies or windows that opened. This was not the case. Our window was solid, it did not open. When you were not sailing, which is a lot of the time, the boat docks side be side with other boats. They line up like dominoes and connect and you have to walk through each one to get off. Sometimes they were 5 boats deep. What this means is your window is right up against the window of the cabin on the boat next to you. Like you are standing in someone else's cabin and they in yours. There is no light and definitely no view. On the second night, when we were docked between two other boats, our cabin kept rattling and vibrating really loudly. It was extremely annoying and difficult to sleep. There is a small television that does not actually work (nor did the telephone) so you will need your own entertainment or you are just sitting there in silence the whole time. We listened to music on an iphone. Most (not all) staff wore masks much of the time, but none of the passengers did. My husband and I wore them constantly and people looked at us like we were crazy. This was a small, enclosed space with a lot of people but despite the signs, nobody enforced any kind of mask wearing. There were some hand sanitisers on the wall, but when I tried to use one, it broke off the wall. Social distancing was certainly not enforced and it was very crowded during meal times, and nobody ever checked our temperature. These things were supposed to happen according to the information we were given. I will say there was more than enough food and the staff in the restaurant, where there is always a buffet (covid safe??) were very friendly. It was not necessarily to my liking, but I guess that is a personal thing. What there was, there was plenty of. But drinks are not included, and that includes water, which is 10 times what you can buy it for off the boat. Then there are acholic drinks on a drink menu, but they do not actually have them, so be prepared to stick to extremely expensive wine and beer. The things you see on the land tours are amazing, but they belong to Egypt, not the Nile cruise and you can access them from anywhere. Many of the tours happen either very early in the morning or at dusk, which is a bit annoying. Entrance fees and tipping (which there is a lot of) are not included, and this is stated, but it would be good to know ahead of time how much all of these cost because they certainly add up and it would be good to be able to plan for them. Even the pick-up time on the first day was not as stated. We had been given an choice for pick-up, only to be told the night before that pick-up would be 4 hours earlier unless we wanted to miss the entire first day's sights. This is not at all my idea of a 5 star Nile cruise. If I were to do this again I would fork out the money to go on a better cruise.

So let me begin. This trip will last the whole day. It’s a 3 1/2 hour trip from Luxor to Safaga. It’s not the funniest of journeys but the destination is amazing. Snorkeling in the Red Sea is just one of those experiences that come only once in a lifetime. Once you are there, you will have several instances to snorkel. They will prepare a home cooked meal which was surprisingly good. And you will be transported to a island in the middle of the Red Sea where you can relax and soak in the sun. After that, depending on the time, you might have another chance to snorkel and then you head back to Luxor. My driver was great but the drive is just long. We did stop for snacks on the way back.
If you can stand the 3 1/2 hour drive to and from Safaga, then I say this is a cant miss opportunity. Also, don’t worry about being a beginning snorkeler, it was my first time and the staff really worked with me.
