About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lezPerth0 contributionsExcellent Value Egypt holiday !Booked this tour with Vacations to go Travel through Tour Radar, was very sceptical at first, but needed not to worry, package was considerably cheaper than other companies, even though entrance fees to exhibitions & tipping were not included in package overall this still represents excellent value. We could not have been more happier, the choice of hotel, cruise boat, tour guides Sara & Mansour, we were greeted upon our arrival in Cario at the airport both times by John & transferred to & from our hotel. Would not hesitate to rebook another holiday with them, very happy holidayers !Written August 27, 2024
- lornev5660 contributionsVery uncomfortable flightWe flew from Keflavik to Baltimore via Fly Play Airline on Friday, August 16, 2024. It was the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. Primarily, it was the seating arrangement; i.e., the seat rows were WAY too close together leaving far too little leg room. I'm not a tall person, but if I sat straight in my seat, my knees were up, against the seat in front of me. Unless you're less than 5'6" tall, I'd recommend flying a different airline On a positive note, though, the cabin attendants were extremely nice and helpful.Written August 18, 2024
- admasuk20240 contributionsJordan -desert but tolerably cool.We booked through Tour Radar but Vacations To Go was our local tour agency. We thought we would be in a large group. Due to the Gaza war many people had cancelled and only the two of us ended up being taken care of. The visa was waived for us and obtained by the company and Mr Hani waited for us at the airport before passport control and zoomed us through- that was excellent in our opinion. And then Sayel our driver took over most everything. He went beyond his duties and was buying us stuff and was quite knowledgeable explaining the details of the places we visited. He was on time when we needed him and he took us extra places also. He also knows when to be quiet! The accommodation at Petra was excellent- converted former residences but with swimming pool, spa and all. The food was excellent. The local guide took us only to the highlight of the area- the Treasury, but make sure to go all the way to the other gate -there is plenty to see and climb beyond the Treasury. We almost missed some parts. Start early, wear a hat - the heat can get intolerable. Wadi Rum is a desert with interesting rock formations and some interesting places including where movies like Star Wars parts were filmed. More interestingly, at night you can see the stars clearly and take pictures with a good camera. Our "tent" was roomy enough despite looking small from outside One thing about everywhere in Jordan- you get plenty of food! If you are a gourmet- enjoy. If you are a light eater like me- wasted! It's sad the Dead Sea is dying. We walked almost 2 minutes from the point where its edge was 24 years ago to where it is now near our hotel. Should be included in your trip if possible. We covered more biblical historic places than mentioned above. All the hotels were nice but then there weren't many tourists at the time and we had some advantage including being upgraded for free at some places This tour agency was excellent and Sayel was an excellent guide in our opinion.Written July 18, 2024
- slacyktravels0 contributionsA+ tourMy husband and I just returned home from our dream trip to Egypt with Vacations to go travel. We would like to thank Walaa and Magdy for assisting us in all the preparations, our very knowledgeable tour guides Tamer and Mansour, our transfer people and drivers for making our trip as smooth as possible. From the pyramids of Giza to the New Library in Alexandria, the hot air balloon ride and the Nile cruise, all the temples and the history behind them, and the catacombs, Kom Ombo, Karmak Temple, Abu Simbal Temple, the High Dam. Egypt is a beautiful country and I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wishes to travel there .Written October 25, 2023
- C N0 contributionsAbove and Beyond! Thank youThank you to Vacations to Go In Egypt! The team made the trip memorable, fun, safe and extremely well time managed. I highly recommend this operator.-- I was able to add new adventures and shift tours where possible. My local contact was Michael was hilarious and worked to ensure my son and I had a fabulous time on our vacation-despite some airline issues with lost luggage. He went out of his way to repeatedly call the airlines to ensure our lost bag was delivered to our hotel--while my son and I enjoyed our vacation. Was a great deal of peace of mind. From pickup and drop off from the moment we landed in Cairo we never felt anything but smooth sailing. We had no issue in Egypt other than the airline losing our bag- But was delivered several days later. From the moment we landed to assisting in securing an alternatives mode of transit to Aswan when the airlines lost one of our bags- Vacations to Go Michael did everything to ensure we loved our vacation. I will call out our guide in Aswan--all the way through Luxor the amazing Hussein!! He repacked our tour once in Aswan to ensure we did not lose anything planned due to airline issue. He not only educated us on Egyptian history and on local issues, culture but he tested us in all the amazing history of Egypt which ensure we retained the history. Hussein made every tour seem like a new experience and we are thankful he was booked as our Egyptologist. *** recommend him ALL day!! All in all this Egypt experience was one my 9 year old son and I will never forget. He learned so much and we felt every documentary we watched come to life! Thank You Egypt Team!!Written August 18, 2023
- Pieter D0 contributionsLuxury slow travel on the NileAn incredible experience to glide over the Nile river (at 9 km/h) on board the only steamship left. The 5-night trip was a combination of old fashioned charm revived on a modernized '20s boat, deep cultural immersion with great and well organised excursions on shore (in Qena, Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan), and a wonderful hotel setting with personalised exceptional service (by Amir and his 67 personnel team) and a great cuisine. All of this combined with nice company of all other guests on board makes this an unforgettable experience.Written June 5, 2023
- A6485XSsusanm0 contributions11 Day Cairo, Nile Cruise, Abu Simbel, Dendarah, Abydos & AlexandriaHow do you describe in a few words the actual magnificence of being in one of those far off places that you only read about or saw in pictures? After literally several years of researching I found what seemed to be the perfect itinerary that would take me to every site in Egypt that I had wished to see. Plus, it was wrapped up with all the important extras, such as transfers, meals, hotels, entrance fees and guides. Under the huge umbrella of Tour Radar, I discovered the perfect 11 day tour in Egypt with Vacationstogotravel.net...an Egyptian based tour company. With Tour Radar's world wide support team that readily answered questions whenever I called prior to the trip and Vacationstogotravel's incredible expertise at flawlessly orchestrating every intricate detail of the journey it all could not have been more exceptional. At no time during the trip was there ever a moment of anxiety, worry or fear. The Egyptian people were lovely and helpful at every turn. When first arriving in Cairo we were warmly greeted by Michael who was ready to assist with luggage, help us obtain our Visa, go through Immigration, take us to the lovely Steigenberger Hotel , initiated the check in, gave us his contact information if we needed anything and established the departure time and guides name for the following day. At exactly the noted time the following morning, Tamar enthusiastically greeted us, introduced us to our driver and off we went to see one of the Seven Wonders of the World...the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and our obligatory ride on a camel. Lunch was in a local restaurant and then off to the Step Pyramid followed by a visit to the open air museum of Memphis, once the capital of Ancient Egypt. He also was our knowledgeable guide the following day in the immense Egyptian Museum a well as a visit to the Islamic city of Calro, the hanging church, the BenAzar Synagogue and the Khan El-Kahlili bazaar where he introduced us to the art of making Papyrus. Tamar readily shared facts surrounding everything we saw as well as graciously fielded questions about everything else that caught our eyes. Then, ever so promptly, Michael returned to take us to the airport to fly to Aswan. It is there that we met one of the most amazing guides as well as human beings I have been privileged to meet. Ibrihim Elmonir can not really just be categorized as a guide although he is a walking encyclopedia of Egyptology. He is the consummate host whose entire focus is on the welfare of his guests. For five days he went above and beyond, hospitably inviting us for coffee at rest stops, treating us to little candies when he would pass a store, buying us bottles of water to ensure that we stayed hydrated and even gifting us a souvenir of a hieroglyphs tracing tool as a memento of our time together. He constantly monitored our wellbeing and patiently adjusted to our pace in the extreme heat. And...as far as being a guide, Ibrihim, who apparently has 17 years of experience to date, is so genuinely eager to share everything he knows about his home. His mastery of historical facts would make him a perfect ambassador for Egypt. Everywhere we toured he so enthusiastically shared his profound cache of knowledge including numerous seemingly hidden and intimate details within the ruins. His endless knowledge of every god and goddess, from Egyptian to Roman, was brilliantly displayed in one fascinating story after another. He encouraged our understanding of the figures and formations that make up the Hieroglyphs that are the source of the multitude of tales within the various temples and tombs. We could not help but mirror his genuine enthusiasm for every carving, painted colors and stones that he showed us. He even insightfully slightly adjusted our scheduled program, respectfully allowing us to access his ideas. Instead of sailing on a Faluca while on the Nile cruise we had a restful sail to the Nubian Village for dinner. His suggestion to switch the day tour to Dedera and Abydos Temple scheduled for the last day to instead, end our trip in Luxor with the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple and the great karnak temples. It was an amazingly fitting punctuation to our tour of Egypt's antiquities. Amongst all the wonderful things we saw and did, Ibrihim stands out as a stunning and most memorable asset for the country and the company he represents. When rating an experience, this tour deserves 5 Gold Stars!Written May 28, 2023
- joanne h0 contributionsPlease read truthful reviewGood evening I am just writing another review about this amazing hotel. Firstly can I just say I can't actually believe the negative nasty reviews some people are able to post this can affect people and their work. I have just read a review about derogatory and negative comments about the manager if this hotel.I can assure you this is simply not true. The manager Mr Hany Mounir is a dilligent hardworking, fair, respectful and polite person. The words said about him are completely wrong. I have been coming to this hotel for over 11 years now I came when it was Hilton and then continued when Mr Mounir took over done years back. He has totally transformed this hotel into the cosmopolitan hotel it is today. The staff literally cannot do enough for you. The cleanliness is spectacular along with rhe Food and Beverages and Surroundings. I have travelled all around the world, yet I come back to this hotel because of the staff and management they make this hotel. I just wanted to clarify that the review was totally incorrect and only just posted yesterday but the person stayed in April 2022 very strange to be making negative comments a year later Please if you want a fantastic holiday with all the phenomenal amenities please come and have a vacation here you will want to stay forever its a piece of Paradise. Thank you for reading this and please try Long Beach Resort it is Phenomenal.Written April 8, 2023
- Robin G0 contributionsDon’t Book Cruise ExcursionsVery disappointed in the communication concerning my documents to complete my excursions. Thank goodness I had taken a picture of the fees that I was charged for verification. I was bounced around at each port to find my meet place because I did not get the instructions before leaving. I was on limited wifi and did send an email to London but I had completed all my excursion when I received her response. The Jamaican Beach Horseback riding was extremely disappointing. I was shuffled around through different taxis, then dropped off in what appeared to be a homeless camp area. The young man lead me through homeless camps with trash everywhere, walked me down a seaweed, trash filled strip (2-3 feet deep seaweed) next to the water, turned around, asked me for my phone to take pictures, dipped my phone in the water, and lead me back while asking for a tip. We had two men approach us and my “guide” shewed them away. Additionally, we passed a large group of horseback riders with helmets, life jackets, and they were riding in the water and then trotted off into the rainforest. For $112.00 I was ripped off! Very disappointed. I do not recommend booking your cruise excursions through Vacations To Go.Written February 7, 2023
- Kerrie R0 contributionsEgypt by steamboat. My husband and I recently travelled up the Nile on the Steamboat Sudan and it was a truly amazing trip. Being the only steamboat on the Nile and a much smaller boat it had a wonderful friendly atmosphere 😊 with the most amazing, friendly and very helpful staff. Nothing was to much trouble and even on my birthday the chef baked me a cake and all the staff sang happy birthday 😄On our trip we had a tour guide organised by the boat called Eid Mohamed. His knowledge and friendliness made each trip incredibly interesting and his knowledge of Egyptian history was truly amazing 👏 The boat is so beautiful and even if you are not an Agatha Christine's fan it is a most wonderful way to travel and see some of Egypt and we would highly recommend it 👍🥰Written November 4, 2022
- casstemple0 contributionsDo not Ever Use this Companyhad multiple excursions scheduled - could not find our tour guide, could not get any responses from the company. They were much more expensive than the ship excursions. Would never use themWritten October 29, 2022
- Faisal69960 contributionsBeautiful city with amazing architectureCAIRO city is beautiful considering the heritage which has different Architectural period buildings . It's very chaotic in terms of traffic and organisation, if you are visiting as private tour (not with guide or cruise ) need to be careful with people who offers help in heritage places because most of the time you will end up paying for without a reason to an unknown person who wants to help for clicking your pictures or just showing your the way of your location...putting in simple words Help is not for free at all in the heritage places .Written October 11, 2022
- TripJoe530 contributionsNothing like an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide to show you aroundSimple. Do not miss anything in Cairo. Try to be guided and visit all you can; when you get home, you will have time to organize your thoughts and photos. I found Dina to be very eager to show you Cairo and explain as a great city developed. She is also very patient with the silly questions I was asking.Written June 20, 2022
- KaryAr50 contributionsInspirational Journey to Israel, Jordan and Egypt, Private TourWe did the 12 Days Inspirational Journey. My husband and I are Christians and always wanted to do the Exodus Route, which is how the Bible narrates the Exodus from Egypt, and the journey to Mount Sinai Jordan, under the leadership of Moses until arrival to the Promised Land in Canaan now Israel. After contacting Vacations to Go I received information from Walaa from the office in Cairo; soon after Magdy, the Tour Director, sent link for payment, itinerary and answers to all the questions and doubts I had. To our surprise nobody had booked the same days we booked, therefore our tour resulted in a Private one. We had English speaking drivers, tour guides, air conditioned vehicles and great service in each of the destinations. In Egypt we were greeted at Cairo's airport then transferred to the Hotel and from day one to the last Michael took care of us in an excellent way, even fulfilling some personal shopping request I had. The local guides assigned to us for Cairo and Luxor were also good. The last day at the airport we had some confusions with forms and guidelines from the airline in order to depart but Michael stayed with us to the last minute, he helped above and beyond to translate as well as to get us passed the passport control. Crossing the Border to Jordan we had some specific guidelines we needed to follow and even before we got in his car, Sayel (driver/guide) was in contact with my husband directing us all the way. He was very polite and accommodating, only in Jerash and Petra we had local guides but for the most part of our sightseeing in Jordan (Madaba, Aqaba, Amman) Sayel was with us, he introduced us to local restaurants and shops helping us in addition to save time and money with PCR test requirements. In Israel we had a very nice young and professional driver named John who provided us with excellent service and explanations from our arrival at the airport until we departed. We had visited Jerusalem in another trip before but had not been able to cross to the West Bank/Palestine site; in this trip John made this tour possible for us, taking us to Bethlehem and Jericho in addition to all the places in the itinerary. Overall, the service, logistics and coordination between one destination to another is one of the best we have experienced. We definitely recommend Vacations to Go for your tour needs.Written June 12, 2022
