Itinerary
- 1Depart Aswan to journey 280 kilometers to the stunning rock-carved temples of Abu Simbel. Relocated to the west banks of Lake Nasser, the temple complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the "Nubian Monuments." First, visit Abu Simbel Temple – a stunning Ancient Egyptian monument built by Ramses II out of a sandstone rock cliff. Marvel at the representation of the deities carved on the temple's huge façade. Nearby, also visit the small Temple of the King's wife Nefertari, dedicated to the goddess Hath-or.Pass byAswan
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- klehr950 contributionsEasy and Magicalsuch an easy and great tour. we hit all the good spots, had great guides, and even though we booked the tour for several people, it only ended up being the 2 of us so was private! the cruise was really nice with great staff, only thing is that all the spots we went to were very crowded because there are dozens of cruise ships all going to the same temples at the same times. some really early mornings as well if you do the optional things like Abu Simbel & the hot air balloon. our guide Khaled on the last day through Valley of the kings was fantastic. he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job, knew everything we asked him! Valley of the Kings is the icing on the cake for this lovely tour. absolutely incredible every stop on this whole tour takes your breath away! and super easy, everything planned for you, you don’t have to do anything except enjoyWritten April 27, 2024
- gethynch940 contributionsAmazing trip with amazing peopleAmazing trip - incredible and welcoming hospitality. They look after you from the moment you step off the plane. Khalid, our guide in Luxor was incredibly knowledgeable and insightful, really showed his experienced in egyptology. Well worth the trip!Written April 27, 2024
- dodobirdi0 contributionsHighly recommended Tour in AswanHighly recommended tour to visit all the main sites in Aswan. But more importantly our guide Aida wad simply fabulous taking time to explain all history of the monuments and sites. Aida gave us plenty of free time to explore by ourselves and take pictures. Transportation was on time and well arranged throughout the whole Tour! You will not be disappointed by booking this Tour. X&DWritten April 4, 2024
- 4kareemf0 contributionsExcellent, professional, informative tourMichael is an excellent, knowledgeable guide who speaks impeccable English and led us on a relaxed, stress-free tour of the Philae Temple and Unfinished Obelisk. He did a great job explaining the deeper meanings of the artwork inside the temple, and walked us through the history very well. Aswan is a calm, peaceful oasis by the Nile that's full of fascinating history. I highly recommend you have Michael take you around the sights.Written January 4, 2024
- portpad10 contributionsGreat way to see the sites, but information is not clearThis is a difficult one to review, as the sights we saw were brilliant, and exceeded our expectations. We are not cruise people, and we were hesitant to do the cruise, but it was a fantastic way, and I think the only way, to adequately and efficiently see the amazing, historic sites between Kom Ombo and Luxor. The evening visits to two sites and the early morning horse and carriage ride into another were just amazing. If you love history, and even if you are not so fussed about it, I think that most people, will be blown away by these incredible sites. If things went wrong, Khalid, the tour organiser, did what he could to keep things on track and make up for them. My two main issues were related to the lack of clarity about the details of the tour on the website, and the lack of an itinerary and communications before and during the cruise. You will need to be aware that when you are picked up on day 1, you do a tour of Philae Temple by car and small boat, and then get taken to the cruise boat early in the afternoon, where the boat sits in dock until 2 pm the next day; before it actually departs. This is, however, quite relaxing and comfortable, as the top deck has a pool and multiple loungers and chairs to chill on. There is also a lounge and bar on board, where you can also get a coffee. The bottled water on the boat is very expensive, but you can buy large, cheap bottles from vendors on the street adjacent to where the boat is docked, when you first arrive. The tour to Abu Simbel, (that is mentioned on the website), is NOT part of your private (Nile Cruise) tour. This is not clear at all. You can only do this as an EXTRA private tour which leaves at 4am on day 2 of the ‘cruise’, and travels by car and back in time for the boat to actually leave port. Anyone who doesn’t do the 4am tour has to stay on the boat for 24 hours waiting for the others. We actually organised a very good private tour to Abu Simbel with another company the day before we were picked up for the cruise. It departed at 9am in a very comfortable car, and was actually cheaper than the one offered by this group. If you have the time, I would recommend doing it this way. Aida, who took us on the Philae tour on day one, was very good. She had lots of information about the temple and the region, as well as some entertaining insights. Other tour guides we had in other locations were also good. English is a second or third or even fourth language for some of the guides, so you may encounter need some minor clarifications due to this and differing accents of both guide and guest. During the cruise, we had to ask reception on the boat what time we were arriving at the different docks on the way, and whether we were getting off or not; as there was no itinerary displayed on the boat, (contrary to what we were told) and some people had land tours that we did not. We were given no information about any of this by Egypt Best Holidays. The food on the cruise was pretty good considering it was buffets for every meal. The cabin was bigger than expected, and we had a huge window to watch the scenery go by. Booking as a couple, we expected a double bed, but we had two singles. This may be standard on boats like this? I would strongly recommend a Nile River cruise to see the sights along the Nile, but you may want to check the detailed itinerary first.Written January 2, 2024
- Ruth T0 contributionsLovely half day excursion - Philae temple is magnificent and the boat ride to the temple made it all the more special.Originally booked for two but my husband was I’ll so I went alone. Aida was lovely - she provided me information, we laughed and I felt completely at ease with her. The trip was great - thank you. Aida, I wish you well.Written October 11, 2023
- ChicM20190 contributionsGood food small cabins, good value! We loved this cruise! ... The schedules were just right for us given that there were resting times in between the out of ship excursions! ... We enjoyed the pace. They also had some in-ship activities and so the whole schedule was just right for us! The food was delicious and sufficient. (We gained weight!) Uh-oh! The cabins were small and a little cramped but it was great value for money as we didn't want to pay so much for a cruise. We were curious why they were asking for people's educational attainment, etc. But, it was good because they sub-divided the cruise group into smaller group for the out of ship excursions. We were very happy with our cruise tour guide, Michael, who spoke excellent English and adequately guided our group during the 4-days cruise we had from Aswan to Luxor. All the out of ship experiences were excellent and impressive. I particularly loved the excursion to Abu Simbel. It an early call time and a long drive, but it was a totally different experience! ... With matching historical facts that were so interesting! I hope you enjoy this trip as much as our family did!Written September 17, 2023

- Tami H0 contributionsAswan Highlights at a Relaxed PaceThis tour is fantastic, especially with Asmaa as our guide. At a relaxed pace, we visited the Unfinished Obelisk, the High Dam, and the Philae Temple. Asmaa answered all of our questions, gave good information, and allowed us free time to wander and take photos. I highly recommend this private tour.Written April 8, 2023

- Rachel1234567890120 contributionsEasy peasy egyptIt was all really easy. There was always someone messaging me to tell me what was happening. It was a smooth budget trip. We had a tour guide in Aswan Mina, and another in Luxor, Khaled Alsaady. We had a great time with both guides. Mina in Aswan was very knowledgeable about the Nubian people, the relocation of people from Lake Nassr. Our boat crew on the Shams was also great. Mohammed and Mohammed Ali in the cafe were so sweet. Then in Luxor Khaled treated us like family. He took us around the archeological sites that he used to work at. He was authentic and so knowledgeable about all things related to the sites. I had a great 4 days 3 nights overall. The trip was a value and honest when it came to inclusions.Written March 15, 2023
- GAVZ19800 contributionsWorth It!!!Khaled El saady my guide for 2days at Luxor was really worth it. If you are into a deeper history of Egypt his the one you want and need. He was honest with his advice and suggestions and took us to a really good restaurant near Valley of the Kings/Rulers. The lunch was the most worthy one I had in Egypt. Despite my little knowledge about history, he made me even more appreciate the importance of the arts, civilization, and ancestry/history of humankind. Bonus experience, I saw Dr. MOSTAFA Wazery(2nd famous Egyptologyst in the world as he greeted my guide Khaled while we are at the Karnak temple as they are a long time friends. Really, thank you. - Jodi D0 contributionsA Fun DayWe had a great time exploring Philae temple and seeing the Aswan dam. The temple is gorgeous! Michael was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide who spoke perfect English. He also helped us make other arrangements for the next part of our trip which was very appreciated. I would highly recommend using this tour instead of trying to navigate it solo if you're not familiar with the area.Written February 26, 2023
- 480jeaninef0 contributionsAmazing tour amd tour guideWe had an amazing tour with Aida. She was so knowledgeable , personable , accommodating to all our needs , she also helped arrange transportation for the other days of our trip that she wasn’t with us thanks to her boss Michael. Philae temple was amazing after a fun boat ride , the dam super cool and even did a trip to the Nubian village with her the next day ! Don’t hesitate to book with them ! They were amazing !!Written January 17, 2023
- Oahtea0 contributionsJust okayBased on other tours this one was just okay. Always great to have an educated guide so you know where you’re going and what you’re looking at. We had Mack or “Big Mac.” Knowledgeable but a little too touchy and my friend & I didn’t appreciate the pet names like Princess. He also didn’t want us taking pictures while he was talking. We did get time to take pictures after we were free to roam on our own. I understand wanting to keep us engaged, but constantly boasting if things are “clear?!” and telling us to not take pictures was annoying. Philae Temple was worth a guide but you can visit the Obelisk on your own & be fine. Once there they took us into a room and had us watch the History channel’s excerpt about how it was created & discovered anyways. Didn’t need a guide for that. One of my friends wasn’t feel and skipped out on this tour to rest. Of all the tours we did, this was a good one for her to miss.Written December 15, 2022

Great organisation from Michael who contacted me via WhatsApp to finalise the details of the trip the day before. Hany, my driver, was simply fantastic! He could not speak English perfectly but we still managed to communicate and he shared some tips with me, like where to enjoy some local food. The guide in Abu Simbel was fun but professional. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Mike is a very good guide with a rich knowledge of ancient egyptian culture. We went to the temple of isis and it was amazing! Avoiding crowd, private transportation and epic views. What else can you ask for?

This tour is not to be missed. While it is roughly a three hour drive to and from Aswan each way, it is well worth the journey. We chose exactly what time we wished to depart from Aswan and our guide, Big Mac, made it happen. Big Mac and two drivers arrived 10 minutes early. Two drivers were included to ensure safety, in case one became tired. This was a really nice touch! Once we arrived we were given all of the pertinent information and then proceeded to tour the Temples on our own as tour guides are not allowed in the Temples. We stumbled upon a bit of travel luck as we had the Temples completely to ourselves! We departed around 6:45 am, toured the Temples around 10 am and returned to Aswan around 3:00 pm. To say these Temples are awe-inspiring does not quite do it justice. You must visit!
We added on a trip to the Botanical Gardens via boat ride following our trip to Abu Simbel. If you have the time this is a fabulous stop. The entrance fee is only $20 Egyptian Pounds and the grounds are shaded and lovely. We were able to stroll around with Big Mac at a very relaxed, comfortable pace barley noticing another soul. The gardens smell of fragrant flowers from around the world and have beautiful views of the surrounding Nile river banks.
Lastly, we wanted to applaud Big Mac and the company for taking exceptional care of our fellow traveler. She was travelling alone. Our guide and the company made sure she felt safe and secure. Her cruise company moved the departure time to an earlier time while we were in mid tour. The cruise company threatened to leave without her, but Big Mac and the General Manager of the company made sure this did not happen. The driver's flew through the town of Aswan while Big Mac stayed on the phone with the cruise ship the entire time. Our fellow traveler safely reached her boat!

Overall a very good experience with a 2-person team of professional drivers and a knowledgeable tour guide of high English proficiency, who took good care of us at Abu-Simbel. The van was clean and spacious four us 5 guests.
Abu-Simbel is a 3-hour drive from Aswan through desolate desert country. Halfway there is a coffee-candy bar-restroom waystation; pack-in snacks or insist on eating at the simple cafe on-site if you want more to eat on this total 9-hour journey.
Though we booked the 8am pickup, this tour company informed us the night before that pickup would be the customary 5am time. We made it across the Nile from Elephantine Island by 5:15am and they were waiting at our ferry stop.

You cannot beat the service of this agency. We booked the night before and got door to door service. Tiger was a great guide, as was Mona? The following day when I went to Philae. If you are on Aswan and need a trip, contact Michael. He won't let you down. Brilliant.

Hello,
I am interested in this tour, but I would like to spend the night in Abu Simbel in order to have more time to spend in the archeological area.
Therefore I have several questions:
1. If we take the trip with you, can you take us to our hotel at 2.5 KM from the archeological area to drop off the luggage before starting the tour?
2. Is it possible that you accompain us for the trip and then we stay as long as we want at the archeological site, while you go back to Aswan?
3. Do you think that my plan makes sense?
4. Do you offer tours also in Italian?
Thanks
Erika
