Tourism in Aswan differs from other tourist cities in Egypt.
as Aswan alone is a treasury . That contains much of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh’s antiques after Luxor . Surrounded from everywhere by the sweet and mystical Nile River.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- claude_monnier0 contributionsBeautiful temple to HorusThis temple is easy to reach from the dock via horse buggies. The temple follows a very classic layout of entrance pylone, then a column open air courtyard. Scenes of Horus life are depicted on the walls. It is a beautiful complex to explore.Written January 29, 2024
- KarenInSF0 contributionsBeware of the animal mistreatment!!!Thanks to the mafia of the horse cart owners, it is hard to arrange any other transportation to this temple. There are tuk tuks, but apparently often issues between the horse cart drivers and tuk tuk drivers. I'd recommend not going for this reason alone. The horses are disgustingly mistreated. Bloody, open sores, and too skinny. It is 2024 and we can all do better. The entire transportation experience dampened my visit to the temple. To be honest, I found the temple less than impressive.Written January 11, 2024
- MickeyV440 contributionsOkIt was ok. Boat needs maintenance. Food was ok. Air balloon was late. I feel like wifi should be free tooWritten September 16, 2023
- Trevor R0 contributionsA Very Interesting SiteRather busy at times but well worth the effort. This is a very interesting site with lots to see and discover.Written January 12, 2023
- pazza710 contributionsHistorical site worth a visitThis site is also known as the temple of Horus. It is well preserved and reflects the Ptolemaic era..This temple is second largest in Egypt after Karnak temple.Written January 2, 2023
- starmandave19590 contributionsGreat Temple, dreadful experiencespectacular temple..marred by a truly dreadful crush to get through a narrow covered entrance followed by a 90degree turn into the security checks. when all the boats arrive together (as they do) it is a crush of soccer stadium proportions. this needs sorting before a disaster happens (if somone fell they would be trampled on) the temple itself is superb...go when the boats are not in ... and don't use the horse carriages as yhe poor horses are so badly treated. the only way this situation will improve is direct action!Written December 16, 2022
- TonyC1040 contributionsTemple of the Nile cruise so worth a morning of your timeThis is one of the temples you can enjoy if you take a Nile cruise between Luxor and Egypt. You only need half a day which is plenty to visit and get back on the boat. Edfu itself is not the most pleasant of places and the only reason to visit is for this temple. You need to transfer through the town to reach the temple. There are many offers of horse drawn carriages but I would avoid as the poor horses do not look well cared for. The temple itself is certainly worth a visit but perhaps 2nd division compared to some of the temples elsewhere in the country. A guide will help understand the history and background to the building of the site which did add to the enjoyment of the visit. As ever you need to pass through a bazaar/ market where you will be pressed to part with your money.Written November 10, 2022
- Navigate566490651700 contributionsAmazing Temple on your way to LuxorA must stop when you are driving from Aswan to Luxor. Its about 1.5 hours from Kom Ombo temple. The biggest downside is the drive. The roads are terrible. The government should invest in building better roads and remove the terrible speed bumps every 200m. Have proper paved roads and you will have more tourists visiting which helps the local economy. Also official guards should stick to their duties rather than wanting a tip to open a gate for you. Disappointing to see that. Everyone wants a tip rather than helping you from the kindness of their heart. Overall still a worthwhile visit.Written August 16, 2022
- dessemax0 contributionsProfessional and flexible for a relaxing tour.Nice and relaxing tour of local activities around Aswan. I am particularly thankful for their flexibility as my train into Aswan was significantly delayed, and the guide came to pick me up at the station.Written May 6, 2021
- Tsvetelina_Mihaylova0 contributionsAmazing Abu SimbelVery fast driving, very comfortable minibus, egyptian guide included. Everything was OK. I recomend this trip!Written May 5, 2021
- Wanderer02130 contributionsWell preserved structures!Such a huge complex, great place to explore! We spent about two hours walking around and enjoying the site. Even if there are busloads of people, you can see everything well. If somebody ask to take your photo with your camera or give you a tour, you will be asked for a tip, you can kindly say no.Written April 1, 2020
