There are not enough favorable adjectives to accurately describe how wonderful Mohamed Zaki is not only as a guide but as a person in general. We traveled with him throughout Egypt and enjoyed his company on a Nile cruise and still to this day talk about how much we miss him. His breadth of knowledge and experience in the field of Egyptology is extensive. He is patience, kind and most notably we felt very safe and comfortable in his presence . We have journeyed all over the world and I have yet to come across a better guide. If you are traveling to Egypt do not miss the opportunity to meet and learn from Mohamed. He will most assuredly elevate your expereince and leave you wanting to book your next trip with him before you get home. My husband and I look forward to experiencing even more of Egypt with the accompaniment of Mohamed when we book our next trip to his beautiful country.

My spouse and I were in Egypt for a friend's wedding. HIs family connected us with a second cousin who had a tour business in Cairo and his employees took us around there. The cousin also contracted with Mohamed to give us a three-day tour of Luxor and nearby areas. Because of this situation I can talk about not only what an excellent tour guide Mohamed is, but also what you might experience if you choose the wrong tour company.

In Cairo with the cousin we were rushed through everything we wanted to see in the museum and then driven to specific shops that had arrangements with the cousin's company. Harried and hungry, we bought paintings on papyrus for 50x what they sell for in regular markets. We were taken only to buffet restaurants with western food and always told to stay on schedule though we were just two people with one guide taking us around. While we are Christian and enjoy hearing about the history of the church in Egypt, there was a clear bias in the guiding and it took a lot of arguing to get the time we wanted to see the part of the city with Turkish-built mosques.

Our time in Luxor with Mohamed was worlds apart. He has been exploring the ruins of Luxor—where he grew up—since he could walk, and he is a real Egyptologist, brimming with love for all of Egypt's history and presenting a detailed and unbiased account of it.

I ask a lot of questions on tours. I like to learn about history but also about the local economy, the natural resources, the local ecosystem, and the names of plants and animals I see. Usually I find guides have one type of information they want to talk through and they don't care about the rest. Not Mohamed. I could ask him anything, from any angle, and he was engaged, engaging, and knowledgeable. In just one example, I commented that we must not know much about the lives of the people who built the tombs of the Pharaohs. Mohamed told me that if we had another day in Luxor he would take us to the place where the craftspeople had designed their own tombs, which included a depiction of workpeople storming a Pharoah's house and taking out all the furniture in what may have been the world's earliest collective labor action! In three days of questions and conversation I barely scratched the surface of Mohamed's knowledge of Upper Egypt.

Mohamed is making a living as a tour guide, but he does not make this living by shuttling tourists around to his connections and getting kickbacks. He clearly loves his job and enjoys helping tourists discover the treasure that Egypt is. He is flexible and will let you set your own agenda as you do this. For us, this meant that when we didn't have time for a Nile cruise, he took us on a 50 cent ferry ride across the river and back. With Mohamed, we understood the value of things we purchased, and we paid vendors the higher prices from tourists that they rely on for a living but that didn't amount to windfalls.

I have since sent friends to Mohamed, several of them Arabic speakers who could have done a lot on their own in Egypt, and they were as delighted with him as we were. We would like to return to Egypt with our kids and use Mohamed as our tour guide in every location, not just Luxor.

My wife and I had Mo as our guide starting in Aswan , and then on a Nile cruise to Luxor. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, he was thoughtful with a kind heart. As a native of Luxor, he shared many personal stories which made our time with him feel very special. As a result of this intimate knowledge, we visited places only someone like Mo would know about. We’ve had many guides in our travels over the past year - Mo is at the top of the list. Highly recommend!!

I got a one day private tour of the Valley of the kings and temples of the West Bank. Mohamed is extremely knowledgeable. He was very flexible and helped us make our own schedule based on our interest. He organised transportation so we would be safe and comfortable. During the tour, he gave us so much interesting information. But he also give us some time to take photos and walk around. It was truely a great day. We learned so much. I got to say we were very impressed by is capacity to read hieroglyphs and tell us about stories written 3000 years ago. Overall it was a wonderful tour!

Mohammed Zaki was hands down the greatest guide I’ve ever had, anywhere in the world. He was helpful without hovering too closely; he gave us room to mingle and explore on our own while always keeping a watchful eye on us and explaining everything along the way. He also seemed to have a personal relationship with someone wherever we went —- it’s like he knew half the country.

I literally could not recommend Mr. Zaki more. Book with him — you will not regret it.

Mohamed was my guide during 4D/5N tour to the upper Egypt. This included trip to Dendera and Abydos, Luxor, Edfu, Kom Umbu, Aswan, and Abu Simbel

Mohamed is extremely knowledgeable, gentle, and polite. He was always on time and and ensured that I got to tailor how I wanted to spend the time at sites. He gave me ample aline time after explaining key aspects and answered any questions afterwards.

I will highly recommended tours with Mohamed đź‘Ť

Mohamed Zaki took my wife and me on an eight-day tour of Aswan, Luxor, and Cairo and it was the best vacation because of Mohamed. Mohamed planned out our entire week and added in sight my wife and I also wanted to see. He was very flexible and his knowledge of Egyptian history, culture, and archeology is second to none. We also had a dedicated driver who was always on time or early. Email him wasetmzaki@yahoo.com and have him plan a tour for you. We also enjoyed his company for the week while we were there.

If you’re reading this, you’re one step closer to making a great decision. My son and I found Mohamed here and started working with him to build a tour of Egypt. The tailored process and trip exceeded all expectations. We always felt safe, we learned so much about the country, and I feel fortunate we were able to experience Egypt alongside Mohamed.

Mohamed is the best tour guide I have ever had. He pays attention to details and makes sure everything is taken care of. He always has cold drinks when you need them. He handles all the ticket purchases for you and makes sure you're safe. Very professional and always on time. Highly recommend him!

We just returned from Egypt, having Mohamed as our guide for four days in August (hot! 🔥🔥). He is an amazing tour guide! He took us through the pyramids at Giza, then through the sights at Aswan and Luxor (where he grew up and lives). He is a wonderful teacher with a wealth of knowledge on ancient Egypt and Cairo history. He's patient, and was very attentive to our pace and desires to combine touring the sites with having time to relax. We had a wonderful time with him, and highly recommend him!
