We combined two tours to make for a complete day. Thanks to the team of Explore Egypt Tours. Our driver and tour guide Esmail was waiting for us at 11:00 am. Esmail was kind and willing to share not only about food in Egypt but about life in general and what Egypt is like. The food is authentic and often from tiny places that we would have never found ourselves, I promise you will not be hungry when you are finished. After this tour, we went to an amazing bazaar (Local Market) and enjoyed as much as we wanted, I highly recommend this tour to anyone who's looking to have a local food experience with the best possible guide. thanks to Yoma for organizing this so quickly,We felt safe and in great hands so we could relax and enjoy our time there. I had to thank her for making so many arrangements for everything on my wish list! Which included trying the Egyptian breakfast, and feeling like a local, which tasted amazing. I will order it every time I come to Egypt.😍

My guide Samaa Atef met me at my hotel on time with a driver and took us to the Great Egyptian Museum in Giza. She explained each of the monuments including the hanging obelisk and giant Ramses. The building itself is amazing to regard. There was no book or video about this award winning amazing museum structure. She encouraged me to try some unique local dishes in the Egyptian cafe.

The tour organizer Mariem was very pleasant and responsive handling all details very efficiently. Our Egyptologist David was very knowledgeable and gave us much valuable information not only about the GEM but life in modern Egypt. We enjoyed the tour very much and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the GEM prior to its full opening. Additional kudos to our driver who was absolutely fearless in the chaotic Cairo traffic but drove very safely.

I booked the tour last minute , Mahmoud was very friendly and make sure that everything is good before traveling to Alxandaria. Our guide Hamda was very professional and made sure we are comfortable during the trip. Finally we met our guide Wessam she is do kind , knowledgeable and friendly. We booked the tour with option the food tour. Our operator Yoma asked us if we prefer sea food or local Alxandarian food , we chose the local one and we didn't regret anymore. We tried the falafel , Shawarma and Koshary and for desert rice with milk was very testy Infront of Cournih. If you didn't visit Alxandaria with this company you definitely missed alot of fun! I definitely will come again with my mom next year.

An exceptional tour! From the start 5 ⭐s. Mariem contacted us. Gave us all of the details. She also communicated through to the end of the tour. David was our guide. He was full of knowledge about, not only the churches we visited, but also about the history that involved them. Our driver, Haney (I'm not sure if that is how you spell his name) navigated us through the streets of Cairo expertly. If this is an example of the tours Explore Egypt Tours provide them I will be booking with them again!!!

First of all we have to thank Marianne, from Explore Egypt Tours, for getting us tickets less than 24 hours before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum! Then we were lucky enough to have the legendary tour guide named Nasser as a private guide for this experience. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the museum and well beyond that in general. And, he helped us get tickets to the sold out Tutankhamun visual experience less than 45 minutes before it started...which is nuts!!

Thanks to Yoma for organising this and Mahmoud, our great tour guide. We enjoy food tours as a fabulous way to get around and familiarise us with a new culture. We were picked up on time from our hotel and came back safely 6 hours later. Lots of different foods were sampled, we strolled around with the guide between places and were picked up by the driver again to see the market and mosque. Central Cairo is very busy with lot’s of people and traffic and noise, but that is what we came for. The food is authentic and often from tiny places that we would have never found ourselves. Mahmoud gave us the background and it was all very relaxed. Just what we needed on our first day.

An absolute rip off. This is not a food tour, the women that was our guide (Marwa) took us to a restaurant where we weren’t given even 1 option, they just bring us a plate that was cold, full fish (with head and all) fried calamari cold, we needed to pay for the drink we had (a juice) the lunch was rushed. She didn’t let the driver stop in one of the spots we were supposed to visit, run personal errands while we were on tour and took us to a “papirus institute” that wasn’t an institute but just a store that sold papirus many times more expensive than other places around Cairo (over $100 for a papirus you can buy for $10) After that I told her I wasn’t going to buy anything and then she rushed us the rest of the time. Sat next to us looking mad, while we eat that terrible plate of food. The price is not worth it, is not a food tour, (tour for us is something where you get options and they show you various foods from a place) you are better taking the ones that are $40 and you choose what and were do you want to eat. Was the only bad experience we had in Egypt. Do not buy this tour you will regret it.

Everything went super smoothly and Hazem was very knowledgeable and just a heck of a nice guy 😊 Even though the museum isn't finished yet it was still very interesting!

Samaa (tour guide) was fantastic, sharing her cultural insights and providing us with an interesting tour of Cairo city life. The food experiences were great. We used Explore Egypt for two different tours in Cairo - Old Cairo & the NMEC, and a food tour. We really enjoyed both tours. The guides were enthusiastic, friendly and informative. Mariam Mousa, the travel consultant, was very helpful in arranging all the logistics and sharing detailed information about the tours in advance. We appreciated all the support she provided. I definitely recommend working with Mariam and Explore Egypt.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour through Cairo with Mahmoud. We had four street food stops (all great) plus a relaxing stop for mint tea when we had a chance to quiz each other about local life in our respective countries. It was fun observing daily life in Cairo while walking to each food stop. The evening walk through the bazaar and stop at the mosque was a lovely end to our day.

We had a great visit to Old Cairo and the NMEC (National Museum of Egyptian Civilization) with our guide Hazem. He provided insightful commentary for the sites in Old Cairo and guided us through key artifacts in the NMEC. The NMEC is an absolutely must do while in Cairo. We visited before our Nile cruise, which provided some historical structure for the days ahead.
