About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BDavis12360 contributionsAwesomeTour Egypt Club, from our rep Yoma to our guides, drivers, and chaperones, we’re all lovely, patient, and kind. Yoma answered every email to make set up less stressful, and the reps who dealt directly with us were charming, punctual, and genuinely concerned that we would get the best experience! There would never be a time where I would go to Egypt without using Tour Egypt Club!Written January 12, 2025
- BDavis12360 contributionsTremendousOne of the world’s great museums, enhanced by our guide, Abanoub, who not only told us dates and facts, but also had such passion that he brought it all to life! Tour Egypt Club created a fantastic itinerary for us, and this museum was a highlight! (Wear comfortable shoes!)Written January 12, 2025
- BDavis12360 contributionsWonderfulAmazing trip and we were wonderfully taken care of every step of the way! The company and our guides made sure we easily negotiated the chaos that is Cairo and got us to the amazing that is Egypt! I would never go with anyone else but with Yoma and her company!Written January 12, 2025
- AnnikaHor0 contributionsGreat DayWe had a fantastic day. The Pryamids and the Sphinx are of course impressive and the new museum offers many highlights. Yoma took care of our special requests in advance, such as visiting the Great Pyramid from the inside. And our guide David was very knowledgeable about all the sites and answered lots of questions. He was also very relaxed and let us decide for ourselves how much time we wanted to spend at each stop. There were six of us and we had our own private tour in a comfortable vehicle with a very safe driver.Written November 16, 2024

- rajahs20240 contributionsGreat TourAn unbelievable experience.Everything was very safe. It was well organised such as driver's photo being sent beforehand, great driver to Bahariya and back. Activities being planned to make the most out of the day and especially the desert guide being exceptionally good. The meals cooked on the spot are amazing. Thanks for everything. I would highly recommended this to anyone.Written May 30, 2024
- 704dedeem0 contributionsWondrous place! My guide Samaa Atef met me at my hotel on time with a driver and took us to the Great Egyptian Museum in Giza. She explained each of the monuments including the hanging obelisk and giant Ramses. The building itself is amazing to regard. There was no book or video about this award winning amazing museum structure. She encouraged me to try some unique local dishes in the Egyptian cafe.Written April 27, 2024
- Maxwell S0 contributionsExcellent introduction to the GEMThe tour organizer Mariem was very pleasant and responsive handling all details very efficiently. Our Egyptologist David was very knowledgeable and gave us much valuable information not only about the GEM but life in modern Egypt. We enjoyed the tour very much and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the GEM prior to its full opening. Additional kudos to our driver who was absolutely fearless in the chaotic Cairo traffic but drove very safely.Written March 26, 2024
- 347saifn0 contributionsOutstanding experience highly recommend!I booked the tour last minute , Mahmoud was very friendly and make sure that everything is good before traveling to Alxandaria. Our guide Hamda was very professional and made sure we are comfortable during the trip. Finally we met our guide Wessam she is do kind , knowledgeable and friendly. We booked the tour with option the food tour. Our operator Yoma asked us if we prefer sea food or local Alxandarian food , we chose the local one and we didn't regret anymore. We tried the falafel , Shawarma and Koshary and for desert rice with milk was very testy Infront of Cournih. If you didn't visit Alxandaria with this company you definitely missed alot of fun! I definitely will come again with my mom next year.Written March 13, 2024
- baxterv20150 contributionsGEM is still in opening phase but worth the visit!Super time visiting the GEM. My wife and I booked last minute but Explore Egypt Tours put it together. Sama was great, very personable and very informative!Written February 14, 2024
- lisakL7721KS0 contributionsDon't hesitate! BOOK THIS TOUR!An exceptional tour! From the start 5 ⭐s. Mariem contacted us. Gave us all of the details. She also communicated through to the end of the tour. David was our guide. He was full of knowledge about, not only the churches we visited, but also about the history that involved them. Our driver, Haney (I'm not sure if that is how you spell his name) navigated us through the streets of Cairo expertly. If this is an example of the tours Explore Egypt Tours provide them I will be booking with them again!!!Written January 21, 2024
- thomashN9238UB0 contributionsExcellent Tour with Nasser!!First of all we have to thank Marianne, from Explore Egypt Tours, for getting us tickets less than 24 hours before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum! Then we were lucky enough to have the legendary tour guide named Nasser as a private guide for this experience. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the museum and well beyond that in general. And, he helped us get tickets to the sold out Tutankhamun visual experience less than 45 minutes before it started...which is nuts!!Written January 6, 2024
- andrewcQ3322VG0 contributionsBreathtaking view, most memorable experienceThis is the most memorable experience we had in Egypt, and I've been to Egypt 3 times already! The view was breathtaking, the experience surreal. You would be able to see the entire milky way, enjoy the serenity, breathe the pure crisp air and savor super delicious Bedouin foods, and look at the out-of-this-world breathtaking view of the Black and White deserts. Our guide Muhammad Ali showed us all the hidden beauty that this area has to offer. This is a truly hidden gem in the desert of Egypt, and I would recommend this trip to any friends. One more reason for my recommendation: you're supporting the impoverished local Bedouin tribes, and hell them cope with the harsh living conditions. Experience it before this becomes famous and gets flocked with tourists like Cairo and Luxor.Written January 6, 2024

We combined two tours to make for a complete day. Thanks to the team of Explore Egypt Tours. Our driver and tour guide Esmail was waiting for us at 11:00 am. Esmail was kind and willing to share not only about food in Egypt but about life in general and what Egypt is like. The food is authentic and often from tiny places that we would have never found ourselves, I promise you will not be hungry when you are finished. After this tour, we went to an amazing bazaar (Local Market) and enjoyed as much as we wanted, I highly recommend this tour to anyone who's looking to have a local food experience with the best possible guide. thanks to Yoma for organizing this so quickly,We felt safe and in great hands so we could relax and enjoy our time there. I had to thank her for making so many arrangements for everything on my wish list! Which included trying the Egyptian breakfast, and feeling like a local, which tasted amazing. I will order it every time I come to Egypt.😍

I had the pleasure of experiencing a Food Tour offered by Explore Egypt Tours in Cairo, organized by Shahd, the company’s tour operator. From start to finish, the tour was perfectly organized. He made sure everything went smoothly, from timely pickups to timely breaks between tastings. His attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the tour. And I must say it's been a culinary journey like no other. From the busy streets of Cairo to the hidden gems of local restaurants, this tour was a feast for both taste and soul.
Our driver, Ehab, took us to a variety of places to eat, each offering a unique taste of Cairo. From sampling traditional Egyptian street food like koshari and falafel (Egyptian falafel) to enjoying exquisite desserts like kunafa and basbousa, each stop was a new flavor adventure.
Our guide, Mahmoud, not only knew Cairo’s culinary scene well, but also shared fascinating stories about the history and culture behind each dish. His passion and experience added a rich layer of context to every bite we take.

We - a family with two teenager boys - got a chance to do this tour with Mr. Aref Bakry and loved it so much! Definitely recommend it to everyone who are interested in getting to know normal Egyptian life and taste everyday Egyptian food.
After a week of Nile cruise and other sightseeing (temples, tombs, temples, tombs,….), it was a refreshing treat to walk on the street of Cairo where everyday life is going and taste local food that is clearly different from the hotel restaurant food. My boys ate lentil and chick peas, which they normally do not give much chance at home!
It was an authentic experience with some comfort: Aref ordered, ate with us, and talked, like a friend. And we had a driver following us to give a ride for longer distance.
Two thumbs up!

I booked this tour for my myself and 4 friends to taste authentic Egyptian food while learning a little about Cairo and Egyptian culture on our first full day in Egypt. While we had a good time overall, it was not what was advertised or expected. We came during Ramadan, and the restaurants we were suppose to go to were all closed. We found this out after walking around for nearly an hour, and our guide was surprised. Since this is a unique time of year, the tour company should have checked into things before the tour or not offered it during this period. Our guide did a good job coming up with an alternative restaurant that was very tasty, but of course they were not expecting us, so we had to sit for some time and wait for our food. Afterwards, we went to a desert shop to taste a unique pastry for Ramadan, then went to a neat spice shop and a paper making business that was very interesting. Our guide did not provide any information about the culture or the city, but he was very preoccupied with trying to make the tour work. My advice is to make sure you do not go on this tour during any high holy day or time like Ramadan!

I had a day to spare in Cairo on a business trip and decided to try the real Cairo food tour. I am verry happy that I decided to do so. Mahmoud was an excellent tour guide. We tried various tasty local cuisines at locations that only locals would know about. Mahmoud was also very knowledgeable about his country and its history. After some amazing food we continued to tour the Grand Market and ended with a walk through the old city. I would highly recommend this tour to fellow travelers.

Allow me to introduce our tour guide, Momo. As soon as you get to know him, you will discover his warmth, his kindness and his love for his country. Momo is a knowledgeable guide who was able to create friendly bonds with those who had the pleasure of traveling through Egypt alongside him.
Momo is also a connoisseur of contemporary Egyptian culture. He will introduce you to local cuisine, take you to bustling markets for shopping, and introduce you to local people with remarkable hospitality.
Exploring the streets of Cairo or sailing on the Nile in the company of Momo is an enriching experience. He doesn't just show the sights, he makes them come alive. When you share a cup of Egyptian tea with him, you will realize that you not only have a guide, but also a sincere friend.
If you are lucky enough to visit Egypt and meet Momo, your trip will be memorable. He embodies the hospitality of Egypt and will introduce you to this fascinating country. Prepare for an adventure with Momo, your tour guide turned friend, and unforgettable memories! 🇪🇬❤️

I had a great tour with Mahmoud going through the city and eating great food. He explained his plan of where we were going to go and what we were going to eat and background about the food and what was special about it in Egypt. He was kind and willing to share not only about food in Egypt but about life in general and what Egypt is like. Everything was taken care of and delicious, I promise you will not be hungry when you are finished. Once we had a few different foods we walked about the city, looking through the big bazaar and going into the mosque of Al Hakem Bamr Allah. Truly a great time and a great way to spend an evening. I highly recommend it and I only wish I had more time.

Mahmoud was by far the best tour guide I've had during my whole Cairo trip experience. He was a genuine and respectable person who knew the best food spots. I highly highly recommend this tour for anyone who's looking to have a local food experience with the best possible guide.

Thanks to Yoma for organising this and Mahmoud, our great tour guide. We enjoy food tours as a fabulous way to get around and familiarise us with a new culture. We were picked up on time from our hotel and came back safely 6 hours later. Lots of different foods were sampled, we strolled around with the guide between places and were picked up by the driver again to see the market and mosque. Central Cairo is very busy with lot’s of people and traffic and noise, but that is what we came for. The food is authentic and often from tiny places that we would have never found ourselves. Mahmoud gave us the background and it was all very relaxed. Just what we needed on our first day.

Our guide, Ahmed El Sayed, picked us up at the hotel on time and is very knowledgeable about Egyptian history. We started our trip to the St Simon Tanner Monastery, with Mohamed as our driver who is a daredevil driver (as you’d need to be one to drive in Cairo). Ahmed is very patient and explained things to us as we explored the monastery. We had koshari which was wonderful and had coffee and tea at a local shop, right beside a car repair shop. You can’t get any local than this which was what we wanted to get out of this trip. We ended our tour by having a falafel and sugar cane juice.
