- kittyk6630 contributionsWonderful once in a lifetime opportunity experienceWhat a wonderful experience. The balloon ride was beautiful. 20 or more colorful balloons rising at the same time into the sunrise overlooking the Nile and the West Bank. After that our fabulous guide Hasan Capo took us under his wings on a tour through ancient Egypt. Hassan is very knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. He adjusted the program to our wishes and was good fun to be with. He is also a great photographer, so we surrendered our camera to him and enjoyed the sights.Written October 3, 2024

- DCotter20 contributionsNile CruiseOn balance I would recommend Dr Mo for a Nile Cruise. We went from Luxor to Aswan. Everything we had been expecting happened. We did have some communication issues about what was included and what was not. For example, we were told that entry tickets to the Valley of the Kings etc. were included whereas tombs were included once we had purchased an entry ticket. This is clearly a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth as we were dealing with our UK travel agency as well as Dr Mo and a few things got lost in translation (literally). That said entry to most things was fairly cheap. The balloon ride and Abu Simbel were spectacular but we were not told about 4 am starts for both. With the benefit of hindsight, I would recommend starting the cruise in Aswan and going all the way to Cairo (which we wanted to see) and cutting out an internal flight but we also wanted a week of sun in Sharm El Sheikh and that would have required more than 14 days. Other comments are more observations on the way things work or do not work in Egypt rather than Dr Mo specifically. The pick up at Luxor Airport was a fiasco with a driver not speaking English, clearly not having a clue where he was going and using Google Maps on my phone for assistance. That said most other people on the cruise went straight to a hotel on the first night not to the boat as we did (communication again). Things in Egypt happen when they happen – not so much manana as manana manana manana. Don’t expect European efficiency. For the Brits – be aware that in our experience this is the first country we have visited where the main second language is not English as it should be. Spanish and Italian are far more prevalent. Everyone everywhere has a sales pitch and there is no avoiding hawkers and street sellers offering you a “good, special price”. Finally – how many Egyptians does it take to change a light bulb? Multiple individuals are involved in every trip and tipping is endemic. As far as getting rid of pestilential nuisances is concerned, I would recommend learning some Frech phrases as that seems to fox them for a while.Written September 22, 2024

This tour was amazing, eating in the desert at night, around a fire place and then camping looking at the stars in a very quiet night away from all the craziness it’s a most do. “I like Egypt tours” made it work for us, after the tour they dropped us off at the airport instead of the hotel and that was very convenient.

I would have cursed myself if I wouldn't have planned for western desert tour. It is an out of the world experience.
Not many people try to explore this. They are missing out something. One should definitely make a point not to leave Egypt without visiting western desert. Our guide Mr. Mohammed (I Like Egypt Tours) arranged every bit of experience so well, we cherish every moment.
To begin with, we were taken in a private car to Bahariya Oasis, where we had a sumptuous Egyptian vegetarian food served in a village house (we are vegetarians).
From there, we were taken in 4x4 Jeep to Crystal Mountain, Valley of Agabat and White desert… Each and every landscape was so spectacular..Watched sunset in White desert right in front of the famous chicken rock..
Our tent was laid out in the middle of white desert, what a sight it was to behold in our eyes !!Our driver come guide (Mr. Mohammed) had made sure that every detail / aspect was made perfect.. From laying down a tea table, to bon fire, to cooking some great vegetarian curry and rice, it was just awesome..Of course, it was very cold in the night, we had come prepared with all warm clothing along with thick blankets given by the guide. I had never slept under the sky watching bright and shining stars. It was altogether a different world and experience always to be cherished.
Next day, we were served hot tea and coffee and great Indian breakfast (We had carried with us some ready made food packets from India). We were taken to black desert after breakfast and back to our hotel in Cairo.
To summarize, I will give this trip a 7 star experience and a must visit if Egypt is in your bucket list.

Would it be possible to be picked up from Cairo, but driven to Luxor afterwards instead of back to Cairo?
