Wow! We had two tours with Ashour and he was totally brilliant. We went to Saqqara, Dahshur, Memphis and Giza first, where we also had a camel ride (not sure I recommend that for the infirm lol!). Ashour got us to the front of ticket queues, and explained in clear English about each site, showing us all the important places. Nothing was too much trouble and we could go as fast or slow as we liked. The second tour we took with Ashour was our BEST TRIP EVER! We went to the desert at Wadi al Hitan (valley of the whales) and after an exhilarating fast drive in a 4x4 up and down steep sand dunes we had breakfast on a blanket in the middle of the desert! The desert there used to be the bottom of the sea 30 million years ago and it’s covered in shimmering seashells! We drove to see the fossilised whale bones (so ancient they had rudimentary rear legs!!!) and then we swam in the ‘magic’ lake there and viewed two waterfalls. What a day!! Thanks to Ashour and our crazy Bedouin expert 4x4 driver, Ishmael. Thank you so much!

Had the best day with Ashour Tour! The guide was very helpful and knows a lot about the area. When you’re in Caïro, you should definitely contact him.

It's a rarity to come across a company that delivers on all fronts. We had a hard time finding someone who caters to independently-minded visitors. We met Mohamed in Cairo and gave him a test for a day, and without any hesitation, we decided to hire him for the rest of our trip, to drive along the Nile to Abu Simbel, then the Red Sea, and then to the Sinai Peninsula. Mohamed is easy to communicate with, speaks perfect English, and has a natural gift to negotiate at police checkpoints, which is extremely important in some parts of Egypt. You get the utmost personal assistance with Mohamed. He was ultra-flexible upon a multiplicity of changes, forward-thinking, and never hesitant. He has a great personality and is reasonably priced. We drove 8000km+ for four weeks. Mohamed went above and beyond to fulfill our whims en-route. The memories we have from this trip are unforgettable. Thank you, Mr. Best. I was in Giza for a week and this included a day trip to Alexandria for lunch. Mr Mohamed Ashour provided knowledgeable service with a smile. He was most willing to help in all tourist needs I requested such as a phone card, money exchange, bank or ATM and activity referrals. He and a couple of his friends even joined me briefly during a horseback riding activity. It wasn't my first time in Giza but I still needed a bit of direction. I appreciated his help and look forward to my next visit to Al Ahram.
