So nice, I used them twice!
This was my second time going to Egypt, and I did not hesitate to reach out to Mike at GLT again to help plan it. My first time in Egypt, I used GLT for my tours in Luxor, and a different tour operator while in Cairo. For this trip, GLT took care of everything- we customized our trip and went to Cairo, Alexandria, did the Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, and then concluded our trip in Hurghada. GLT arranged all our tours, domestic flights and car transfers. We also had Francis (in Cairo) and Mike (Nile cruise) as our guides, and, just like everyone else said, they were both great- very knowledgeable, super helpful and lots of fun. They really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time and took great care of us. I highly recommend (again) GLT for your Egypt experience.

    Highly recommend this tour!
My friend and I had an amazing day out in Luxor on this tour. Michael was one of the best guides we had in Egypt. He's very knowledgeable, fun and was respectful for two women travelling solo.

Everything Taken Care of on Egypt Tours!
Mike and Francis were amazing tour guides. We had private tours all the way room Cairo to Aswan, and Luxor. They were very knowledgeable, patient, and great company! We did not have to worry when we arrived because Francis and a driver came to pick us up from the airport to the hotel. We customized our tour and every step along the way was taken care of-drivers to each temple, tomb, museum, and even to Mike’s favorite local falafel store. Flights were secured for us as well, and everything went even better than expected! Thank you, Go Luxor Tours for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

    Great trip to Egypt!
Our family had a terrific visit to Egypt with Go Luxor Tours. We did a multi day package exploring Luxor and Cairo. Logistics were perfect, including airport transfers and all tours. Mike and Francis did a terrific job guiding, especially keeping our boys (18 and 12) interested. Excellent communication. One thing we were concerned about was the wire transfer for the deposit, but everything worked out. Highly recommend!

Multi-Day: Giza, Saqqara, Memphis, Alexandria, Luxor, Abydos Temple, Dendera Temple, Valley of the Kings
I was initially reluctant to purchase tours because I’ve been through 15 countries on my own and I generally find tour guides to be wastes of money. They are often no more informative than basic research/the plaques at the site and usually try to rush their tour or you through the site before forcing you to go to their friends’ overpriced shops. All that being said, I can honestly say that Francis is hands down the best tour guide ever (Giza, Saqqara, Memphis, Alexandria). Never once did he rush us, his tours were informative and interesting beyond just basic information (including answering a lot of questions about modern Egypt), and the guy himself is hilarious. He is also half a professional photographer and was really helpful in taking photos/suggesting spots. What impressed me most was his deep and genuine love of history that comes across despite being on the job for 20 years. If you are a history nerd (which if you are visiting Egypt, I am assuming you are) you will have a blast learning from him. Michael (Abydos Temple, Hathor Temple, Valley of the Kings) was also an excellent guide throughout the more remote sites surrounding Luxor. We had a third tour guide for a day tour (Luxor) we were not impressed with, but overall our experience was so positive with the company that I would still give it a full score and recommend it wholeheartedly to others. Even if you are an experienced world traveler, remember that there are two types of sightseers in Egypt: those who purchase tours and those who have a bad time.

Family Trip of a Lifetime Thanks to Go Luxor Tours
For anyone not wanting to read the entire review, here is a summary. AMAZING, BREATHTAKING and just WOW!!! If you are considering going to Egypt, reach out to GO LUXOR TOURS and you will have the TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!! We wanted to do something special for our daughter’s high school graduation that would create memories rather than gifts, so we let her pick any place she wanted to go for a family vacation. She chose Egypt after taking a world history class her senior year. It was easy to say yes to it as I have always wanted to see Egypt since I was a kid. Deep down I always wanted to be an archeologist :). So I started looking into what it would take to travel to Egypt and our options. I have traveled to around a dozen countries across Asia, Europe, South America, Central America plus numerous Caribbean islands, so I feel pretty comfortable traveling most places. For the most part when we travel, we plan things out on our own, rent air B&B’s and are adventurous. After a few days on the internet I quickly realized that Egypt is probably not a place where I would want to try traveling on my own with the family. This was a trip of a lifetime and I wanted to ensure my family had the best experience possible, learned as much about the history of Egypt as possible and most importantly had fun. I started off by watching lots of YouTube videos of people traveling to Egypt and visiting the sites to get a feel for what it would be like. if you go watch any YouTube videos of visiting Egypt you will see there is a lot of haggling at the sites with vendors wanting to sell you stuff, guards wanting tip money to show you things at the sites, people trying to get you to go to bazars, having to pay to use the bathroom and negotiating for most things. The one thing you may not notice is most of the YouTube videos you find are people traveling on their own without a knowledgeable guide. My first recommendation is don’t let the YouTube videos scare you away, go book Go Luxor Tours and you will have the most amazing vacation you could ever dream of. Don’t for a second be worried about being haggled for everything. Just ignore anyone trying to offer you items if you aren’t interested and worst case, your guide will help get rid of anyone bothering you :). My wife and 15 year old daughter were a little hesitant about traveling to Egypt after watching the YouTube videos as they really don’t like dealing with haggling for things. I thoroughly enough haggling for things, so it didn’t worry me….but I wanted to make sure my family had an amazing time too. This is one of the most valuable parts of having a guide from Go Luxor Tours. When you are traveling with a guide from Go Luxor Tours, they will help you with everything from advising you how much you should pay for bathrooms, how much to tip a guard to show you something special and most importantly help if someone won’t stop trying to sell you items. I really can’t iterate enough how helpful and valuable the guides were at Go Luxor Tours. We left Egypt with the entire family absolutely loving it and wanting to go back again. This is truly thanks to our guides at Go Luxor Tours as they made this trip perfect for us. When we decided on going to Egypt and finished watching countless YouTube videos, I immediately started to look for tour groups that we could use so we could have an Egyptologist that knows the sites inside/out teach us the history of each site, help us learn the local culture and help if the haggling was too extreme. One of the big problems I originally ran into was we are a family of 5 with 3 kids aging 18, 15 and 7. Most of the big tour companies would not allow a 7 year old, so that left me to do more searching. I received a couple of recommendations for private tour companies from people who had been to Egypt in the past. I read through their trip reports, read reviews of the tour companies and reached out to both. Go Luxor Tours responded nearly immediately and connected with me through WhatsApp. I was connected with Michael and he quickly replied to all of my questions. He was so personable through chat, helpful and fast. I quickly decided this was the right guide company for our family to go with and let me tell you…….this was by far the best decision I have ever made for any vacation. I continued chatting with Michael for a few days and he was extremely responsive and would reply within minutes regardless of how late it was in Egypt. He asked details about what we wanted to see and provided recommendations on what else we should add to the itinerary. Michael took into account the ages of our kids and planned the most amazing itinerary we could ask for. We locked down the details of the trip and next step was to wire a small deposit for the trip. I don’t know about you, but wiring money to someone you don’t know and is international was a bit nerve wrecking at first. All of the vacations we have done to date I have always put on a deposit on a credit card with little risk, so this was our first time having to pay deposits in cash for a trip. One thing you will learn is a lot of things are still cash only in Egypt……its quite a difference from the US. I kept thinking what happens if we show up at the airport in Cairo and no one is there :). Let me tell you….do not be worried. Michael and Go Luxor Tours are some of the most respectable and trust worthy people I have ever met. I would not have any hesitations doing it again. Our planned trip consisted of arriving in Cairo, having a day of rest and then spending 2 days seeing Sakkara, Dahshur Pyramids, Memphis, Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum. We would then fly to Aswan and spend 3 days seeing Philae Temple, Nubian Village, Abu Simbel Temple, Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples. After that we would drive to Luxor to spend 3 days seeing Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, Habu Temple, Valley of the Nobles, Valley of the Workers Karnak and Luxor Temples. Once we finished touring we had a private transfer to Hurghada to spend 5 days relaxing on the beach. It was a total of 2 weeks we were spending in Egypt. Our entire trip included private vans and a private guide on all days touring. One of the best parts is the entire trip is designed around what you want to see and do. You can spend as little or as much time at any of the sites and are not being rushed. Michael frequently checked in with us during the 8 months leading up to the trip. We had planned the trip back in Nov 2022 for a June 2023 trip. On our day of departure Michael checked in with us to ensure our flight leaving the US was on time and confirmed again that our guide Francis would be waiting at the airport for us. Our flight arrived just after 5am local time, so it was early. We exited the arrivals hall just like he said and found Francis waiting for us with our name on a sign. This trip was already off to an amazing start……my first worry of will anyone be there to pick us up was a needless worry :). Our guide in Cairo was Francis and he was simply AMAZING!!! His historical knowledge was not only exceptional, but the way he shared it to keep everyone engaged including our 7 year old was unreal. He would even take the time to point out the seashells and fossils in the stone paths and rocks to our 7 year old who was fascinated with it. They would race between the sites and just had so much fun. One of our biggest worries was that it might be tough keeping the attention of a 7 year old, but he had just as much fun as everyone else thanks to our guides. Francis did an exceptional job planning out our day and timing our arrival at the sites to avoid the large crowds. Everywhere we went it seemed like we would always arrive when a big group was leaving or we would leave just as a big group was showing up. We had some of the sites almost to ourselves. During just a short 3 days in Cairo, it felt like Francis was part of our family. I never dreamed we would have a guide who would blend so well with our family and that the kids would miss leaving. We then traveled to Aswan where Michael picked us up. I joked with him that he had big shoes to fill after we had such an amazing time with Francis in Cairo. Let me tell you, Michael did not disappoint. He was also AMAZING and had so much knowledge to share. I am just blown away by how great both Francis and Michael were. Not only were they amazing guides, but they are great people. You feel like you have known them forever after just a short time with them. We spent 5 days touring Aswan and Luxor with Michael seeing so many great sights. Michael did a fantastic job planning out the timing of seeing sites. We always arrived before/after a large group, so most sites were very empty. They know the schedules of other tour operators so well and can plan around them. Michael also did so well with our kids and kept our 7 year old entertained and engaged the entire time. Michael fit right in with our family and we would all joke and just have fun. Our kids and all of us had so much fun with Michael. It seriously was like he was part of our family on the trip. He fit in so well and helped us not only learn about the history, but to have fun while doing it. I tried to pay attention to how some of the other larger tour groups did things at the sites and I am beyond thankful that we chose Go Luxor Tours. We had a completely personal experience that led this to be the best vacation we have ever taken. If we had chosen a large tour group or tried to do this trip on our own, we would not have had anywhere close to as great of a trip. I can honestly say that our trip was made amazing thanks to Michael and Francis. If you are considering going to Egypt, do yourself a favor and reach out to Go Luxor Tours. My entire family loved the trip and talks about Michael and Francis all of the time. They made such an impression on our kids that will last a lifetime. We all left Egypt wanting to come back again and this was all thanks to Michael and Francis with the experience they gave us. Thank you Go Luxor Tours for helping us make this truly a trip of a lifetime!!!!

    Wonderful Experience!
We had a multi-day tour to Luxor and Cairo, with a stop at Hurghada for snorkeling in the Red Sea. It was a great tour! Both tour guides, Michael and Frances, were extremely knowledgeable and never tired of our questions, even if we asked them two or three times because we forgot what we were told (it's so much information!). No question was too dumb for them! We had limited time in Egypt and Michael was able to arrange a tour based upon what we wanted to see, rather than a pre-packaged tour. We were able to tour at our own pace and when we got tired, it wasn't an issue to wrap up the tour and head back to the hotel. Michael was very easy to work with and responds very quickly to emails, texts and whatsapp. He exchanged dollars to pounds for us so we didn't have to bother with that. I was most impressed with how he handled a situation at one of the hotels for us. We ultimately were wrong in that situation but before we found out we were wrong, Michael went to bat for us with the management. He could have not gotten involved but his involvement meant a lot to us. It is good to know that he will take care of you in any situation that you need him to. Most travel operators would not have gone out of their way for us in that situation. I highly recommend Go Luxor and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

    Exploring the wonders of Luxor
I went on this tour with a family that I met in Cairo and we figured out that we would be in Luxor on the same dates. So we decided to do a tour together. Since there were two children 9 and 14 years old, the company offered my friends to split the full day into two half-day trips and start early around 7.30 am so it would be easier for the kids. It turned out to be a great idea as the temperature soared to 44-46C after 2 pm. Those were wonderful, overwhelming two days. On the first day, we went to the West bank, and on the second to Luxor and Karnak temples. We had two different guides, Mike and Eereen (female guide), and they both were entertaining and doing their best to make us feel comfortable and engaged. I learned a lot of details about Egyptian culture and it was mind-blowing. Be aware that guiding in the tombs is forbidden so it would be better if you acquire some basic knowledge about Egyptian symbols beforehand. The guide will explain the most interesting aspects and details of a particular tomb and what to pay attention to at the entrance of it but those tombs are gigantic, with well-preserved inscriptions and there are so many interesting details so I got a lot of questions. I would take pictures and then show them to the guide. They would explain. Guiding in the temples is allowed so the guides accompany you and tell the story in real-time, and it's a bit more fascinating because they answer your questions as they arise. Beside explanations, both guides also gave us a lot of free time. I finished the tour with enormous inspiration to learn more about ancient Egypt because it is never enough and there is no end to its mystery. Overall, I had a fantastic time and enjoyed no end, despite the crazy heat of those days. I highly recommend this company for those who wants to be flexible and adjust the tour to their specific needs, enjoy comfort and thoughtful service, or who just wants to have a great time. Guys, thank you so much for your guidance and inspiration!

Next time I visit Egypt I'm only going to use Go Luxor
Mike at Go Luxor was in constant communication throughout our trip. He made arrangements on the fly to suit our needs at the moment. We were able to see everything that we wanted in comfort, security, and true joy. We also used 2 other tour companies for short portions of our stay including one affiliated with Marriott and one affiliated with Rick Steves and Go Luxor was by far better than either of those two in every category. Their English speaking guides had flawless English and endless charisma and knowledge. I cannot fathom a better experience and we used 2 other major companies that we can compare against so I feel confident in my opinion. Also, even at their high level of service they were not the most expensive. We came back to them several times throughout our trip and each time they exceeded our expectations. Each time Go Luxor responded in minutes to organize every request we made.

    Trip of a lifetime
We did a multi-day private tour in Cairo and Luxor. Overall, we had a great time and saw everything from the Pyramids in Giza to the Egyptian Museum to the many temples in Luxor and more. Our guides were very nice and knowledgeable - always had an answer to any questions we had. They were also very accommodating / flexible with creating an itinerary that suited our interests.

We did the half day tour to the Dahshur pyramids, and it was great. Everything went smoothly, as we were able to visit and enter both the Red and bent Pyramids. Francis, our guide, even arranged for us to visit the Bent Pyramid's Satellite Pyramid. He also did a wonderful job providing the history behind the site so that we could really appreciate what we were seeing. In addition, he helped us with tipping etiquette, cultural norms, pointing out fossils and pottery fragments, and where (and how) to take the best pictures! All told, we had an extremely memorable experience.

Travel Tip: The day we went, the power was off at the pyramids. Luckily we had mini-flashlights and used that. I would recommend bring one if you take this tour. Also, don't let the lack of power deter you from entering the pyramids as it only adds to the "Indiana Jones" experience.
