Perfect day from Dashur to Sakkara
Excellent trip and even better tour guide! Amira led us around the amazing Dashur pyramids, Sakkara pyramids, Memphis, and ended with a delicious meal. She knew SO much about the history of the pyramids and interpreted the hieroglyphics for us. I recommend this trip and our wonderful tour guide Amira 10/10!

      Trip of a Lifetime.
These guys were great. It was our first trip to Egypt and we just did not know what to expect. The driver and his companion were very patient with us. Our flight was late getting in but they were very easy to find and it was the first of many great experiences on our trip.

      Not worth in in Cairo
It’s strange that I just finished giving a 5 star review for an Emo Tour in Luxor, but I can’t for this one. I booked an airport ride from Cairo Airport to our hotel. I thought it would be easier after flying for 15 hours with no sleep. I messaged the company the day before to ensure that we were still on and made sure that I gave my WhatsApp number, assuming it would be given to the driver so that we could coordinate once the plane landed. If you haven’t been to Cairo Airport before - it is a complete madhouse with thousands of people. It took awhile to get through customs, and of course my luggage was literally the last bag off the plane. I attempted to contact the number I had talked to the company on the day before as it was the only number I had. No one answered my texts or phone calls (it was evening time). The next day they told me that the driver was there waiting for me. Maybe he was, but I never found him, he never attempted to contact me to tell me exactly where he was (hard to find a guy with a little sign in a sea of people with the vague description “I am outside the terminal”). Or maybe he left as it took awhile to get through customs and baggage claim. I tried contacting them the next day and they essentially said “We don’t do WhatApp” which is something that it would have been nice to know the day before when I was conversing with them on WhatsApp. Anyway, it looks like I’m eating that money. It’s actually not worth it anyway. When you walk out of the terminal there are hundreds of taxis, and they all charge the same thing - $20 USD (taxis in Egypt really prefer USD, just a heads up). The cab driver who brought us to our hotel was super nice and he got me out of the crabby mood I was in for being sleep deprived and stood up.

There must be better tours to Sakkara
The pick up was 40min late. Nobody wouldn't have contacted me and tell if they were coming or not if I didn't contact Emo tours myself. We drove to wrong direction right from the hotel and then again in Giza. Even I knew we were in wrong place and going in wrong direction. So we sat in the car for extra about an hour before we were on the right road. I was told that it was the drivers first day but shouldn't the guide know where we are going. After pur guide Omar unterstood that we really knew we were driving around (he tried to deny that first) he promised us to get inside so many pyramids. Finally we were inside only in one pyramid. Finally at Sakkara pyramids Omar took some exelent pictures from us. Hr also told us about Egypt history. And a little too much about the religion on the way. After seeing the Sakkara Pyramid he asked us if we still wanted to see the other side of the pyramid. Like there was nothing else to see about. So we said no, we are fine. Not knowing there were Mereruka tombs for example. So we missed a big part of history. On the way back Omar took a nap!! The lunch we had in the end wasn't good. At all. There was a lady, Marion, with us. I unterstood she was learning to become a guide. She was sweet and lovely! I give her 5/5. And it looked like Omar didn't like us to get along so well with Marion.

      Good value service
I had a greeter and a driver and both young guys were friendly and they somehow navigated the chaos of Cairo Arrivals without a hitch! Best value for a solo first timer in Egypt, you definitely dont want to be trying to negotiate a taxi after a long flight. Got a good intro to local music hits as we drove along. Good service and good value.

      An informative tour
I had a great day seeing the earliest pyramids and Memphis. The guide showed a passion for the history and symbolism assosiated with the monuments we saw, and I learned many new interesting tidbits. Absolutely worth it. I also appreciate the pickup and drop-off at my Hotel.

      Transport for Cairo airport
Even though there was a small issue with the transport size our guide made it work. He even put one of the bags on his lap and bought us coffee for the inconvenience. Very impressed by the history given on our ride to the hotel.

      Excellent service
Excellent transfer service from Cairo airport to downtown hotel. Great communication on the day of our flight advising us where to meet our driver upon arrival. Sabra was waiting for us with a Clear sign when we exited the terminal, and he was extremely friendly and helpful - the perfect first point of contact in Cairo. The drive itself was very comfortable, and we felt safe the entire time. We enjoyed Sabra’s sense of humour as he introduced us to some Egyptian music on the drive into town. We arrived at our hotel feeling refreshed and relaxed. Thank you Sabra!

Great Cairo Airport transfer to hotel
Driver waited while we dealt with lost luggage. He was easy to find. Safe and fast experience to the hotel. Shared possible tours/excursions on the ride and a little bit of Cairo history. Great transport from airport to hotel!

      Professional service
We visited Egypt late May, early June 2023 and we booked all our tours and transfers, even before our trip, with Emo Tours. We bought a voucher and that worked well. Each transfer and tour was at time, without delays. Drivers and tour guides were nice, friendly and helpful, tours always in English. We booked in total 10 different services. Communication was, via What’s up, easy and helpful, and was especially nice that before each tour we were contacted by tour guide to confirm a tour and pick up time. I would choose Emo Tours again.

The concept here is a good one. Cairo is hard to navigate and having a guide take you to major sites makes a lot of sense. Having a driver/navigator/pre bought tickets. All a godsend when trying to maximize time on your vacation.

However, this experience can vastly vary based on the guide you are assigned. I was assigned Sara who was mediocre at best. From the moment we met it was clear she had her own money making agenda. I missed seeing the underground of one of the sakara pyramids bc she took me to the “best carpet factory” where she was clearly making a side prophet.

These attempted scams continued throughout the three days with her aggressively trying to steer my restaurant choices and taking me to the “best papyrus museum”. Which is a hackjob trying to scam tourists out of hundreds of dollars.

By day 2, when it was clear i was not interested in her side hustles, she was keen to finish the tours ahead of time. 2 out of 3 days she left me early to fend for myself getting home.

I think all of the above is not specific to this tour however and if one got a good guide, this could be a great way to see major sites expediently

Words honestly cannot begin to describe how good this experience was. Our tour guide Habib was welcoming, helpful and honest. He helped us to save pennies here and there and always ensured that we had the best experience possible. Nothing was too much of an issue. Highlights included seeing the first pyramid build. The pyramid of Geza. Mohammed Ali mosque as well as a range of other experience! It was honestly incredible!

We booked a 3-day tour package with Emo Tours last Oct 19-21, 2018 under booking ref.: BR-670651570. We were accompanied by our guide, Ahmed Yassin, and his driver, Ahmed “Schumacher”. They were very professional and picked us up from our hostel at the agreed time. They took us to landmarks/places listed in the itinerary. Yassin was very knowledgable and with his teacher-like demeanor, he made sure that we remember key facts and figures of Egyptian history.

At the end of our first day, Yassin asked us to write a review of the tour but for some reason our wifi at the hostel did not work so we put it off. The next day, he kept on bothering us for a “5-star and excellent” review. He even offered my cousin to use his mobile data and finally got what he wanted. Our 2nd day ended and he did same thing again. I understand that he needs a good review for his job but constantly pestering his tourists to do it is really not acceptable.

Lunch was not included in the package so we took Yassin’s advice to dine at one of
Emo Tours’ recommended restaurants. We gave 20 USD or 380 LE to him who in turned paid our bill. For 2 days we had starters, rice with kebab, mixed grill and desserts (drinks not included). On our 3rd day, however, I asked him if we could try other Egyptian food like hawawshi and kushari. He told us we cannot have both so we chose hawawshi. He then led us to one of the hole-in-the-wall eateries in downtown Cairo. What really irked me was that he didn’t let us pay for it. Instead, he collected our money (380 LE) and ordered for us. I can read arabic numbers so one order of hawawshi with mozarella cost only 22 LE as shown in the menu (see picture to prove it). We ordered 5 so it should have cost us 110 LE only or around 120+ LE if tax was included. I don’t know if service charge was included but it’s just a hole-in-the wall eatery. We know that it’s part of business and Emo Tours gets commission from the restaurants but we felt like we were ripped off. It’s not really worth our money.

Back in the car, he claimed that it’s Emo Tours who will collect the money from our lunch. But we have our doubts and really hope that Emo Tours sets the record straight on this matter.

Secondly I would like to thank you for that review for letting us know the essential feedback to keep us moving forward by solving that bad problems as you know we a very big company in the world . Some times our listed guides are busy with their tour with us that is way we support the extra tours we have with a guides who are not from our list who did not know our rules well and those stops at shops are not from our priorities as the most important rule of company that the satisfaction of our customers . We did not get any kickbacks from any local places or shops as the local places are public and governmental places . For the shops , they optional places for you , you could skip them and you are not obligated to buy at all . Its not from our priority to make you buy anything but it is a mark of our culture which alot of our guests asking for it an we have to send them to a certain trusted ones that is why they have got a high quality pieces which more expensive than the cheaper low quality ones of the street. I took the 3 Days 2 Nights Visiting Cairo Highlights tour recently in November 2018. The tour covers a lot of sites and is okay for the price but the operators are shady. I booked with them because of all the good reviews on TripAdvisor, but they don't have very good service. Their communication is TERRIBLE. Definitely request a guide other than MAHDY. He is dishonest. Below are some examples of this poor service:

    1. They were pretty responsive before I placed my deposit, but it took multiple emails to get a response after they had taken my money already. I asked them a question about the tour on 9/25, but they never responded until I emailed them again on 10/5.

    2. My traveling partner's flight to Cairo was delayed by a day and it was a headache trying to coordinate with Emo Tours to get her caught up with the tour. I notified them that my traveling partner would not arrive until the following day, and they verbally confirmed with me her flight details and said that they would be able to pick her up. The next day, when I met with the tour guide, he told me that he knew of no such thing and was wondering where the second person was. How irresponsible! It took a while of back and forth just to get them to pick her up.

    3. It's definitely not a no-hassle tour, if that's what you are expecting. The tour guide asked us multiple times and we felt really pressured to visit some shops that were not on the itinerary. If you ask once, it's okay. However, if you keep asking after we say no multiple times, it's not okay. Sometimes we felt rushed at some of the sites just so that they could ask if we wanted to visit some of these shops. The shops are overpriced and I'm sure the guide gets a kickback.

    4. The WORST PART is that we were charged by our tour guide MAHDY for something that was supposed to be included in the tour price. I guess I should have double-checked with the itinerary, but a camel ride near the pyramids is supposed to be included in the price. Our tour guide charged us for this, and I stupidly paid him, forgetting that it was included. After we had ended the tour, I remembered this and notified the tour company. They have not responded and it's been almost 2 weeks! They are crooks. Especially MAHDY.

I will say that they do have a fantastic transfer guide who is named Muhammed Alaa. He is kind and welcoming and great to talk to. He was the first member of the company that I met when I landed in Cairo, and I had hoped that his service would be representative of the rest of the company. Unfortunately, this is definitely not true. If you read this Muhammed, you should try to find a more reputable company! You are definitely better than the rest of them.

We did three separate tours with Emo Tours: Airport pickup and Egyptian Museum, Giza and Saqqara, and Coptic and Islamic Cairo. Mo Salah (like the soccer player!) was our amazing guide and Walid our driver for all 3 days. They were always punctual, knowledgeable, funny, extremely helpful in all ways, and really helped us navigate an extremely chaotic Cairo. We have never used tour guides before, but feel that a guide in Egypt is essential for first timers, especially when dealing with overzealous souvenir sellers, horse/camel/donkey drivers, and insane traffic in every single intersection. We felt very well taken care of, and would recommend Mo and Walid, and Emo Tours, to everyone visiting Cairo.

From greeting us immediately at the airport, they were with us every step of the way and ensured we felt comfortable and were getting the most out of our experience. The guides were all very knowledgeable. Osama showed us around Cairo and made us laugh the whole way. Kareem Schumacher was an amazing driver throughout and helped us navigate the crazy streets. Ahmed was with us all throughout our trip and really went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience, he made it something that we won't forget! Would recommend all these guys and Emo Tours for a special introduction to Egypt.

We did the Emo Tours 3 day tour of Cairo and we really enjoyed it. Ehab and Tolba were our guides and they were friendly and informative. They answered all our questions about the places and sites we visited, taught us some Arabic and even took us to try some famous Egyptian food! I now consider them friends and would highly recommend tours with them!
