- rachelleroque050 contributionsAbu Sarga Coptic Church and Hanging GardenBest part of my trip , is that we’ve visited Abu Sarga on the day of my birthday! When I came to know that this church is deeply connected with the Holy Family’s journey through Egypt when they sought refuge during their flight from Palestine. Feel very blessed to walked and see what inside their home. It is one of the oldest church in Egypt .Written March 10, 2025

- NellyT6350 contributionsTruly magical Nile cruiseFantastic trip organised by South Sinai travel. We did a 4 night cruise on Ms Nile Style ship. Food was fantastic, staff all friendly and courteous especially the ship Captain John Michel. There were well organised trips at every destination with our own English speaking guide, and private transfers by boat, car and horse drawn carriage at each of the temple/sight destinations. Cannot recommend this more highly. We loved every minute of itWritten November 24, 2024
- Tula450 contributionsThe Nile Style Cruise Boat was the Highlight of 9 days in Egypt. The tour I was on was booked through the UK company Exodus Adventure Travels; Ancient Egypt & Nile Cruise. For this 9 day tour, Exodus use the tour agent, South Sinai Travel. The tour began in the Steigenberger Pyramids Hotel from where the group of 15 visited the pyramids / Cairo Museum/ Mosque and Bazaar. Next day there was an early flight to Luxor and a visit to Karnal and luxor Temple and we boarded the Nile Style cruise boat. The Nile Style was a great cruise boat, the room - and whole boat - was clean, beds comfortable, many towel animal made, fabulous food, and lots of it. The Nile Style and its crew were the highlight of this trip. Visited the valley of the kings, Edfu and Kom Ombo. In Aswan there was a visit to the high dam & Philae Temple. The end of the tour was in the Basma Hotel, after the cruise boat this was a bit of a let down, but I think it was because the Nile Style had been so good! the tour ended in Aswan. It was a great way to see the Pyramids and cruise the Nile in a short space of time. A great trip.Written October 2, 2024
- B4140PTbillc0 contributionsThe Hanging Church & Ben Ezra SynagogueI am not a religious person but have always been interested in the history of religions. This trip did not disappoint. In the heart of Old Cairo & close to the Nile, within easy walking distance of each other are the Hanging Church & an ancient synagogue. I spent an hour in each place; soaking up the atmosphere. Definitely worth the time & money.Written September 25, 2024
- dave8dmb0 contributionsVery poor customer serviceVery unhelpful company who are only interested in exploiting English tourists for as much money as they can. For example I was quoted $65 for a $20 private transfer to Aswan airport. Also they use a very old and dirty boat on the Nile cruise. Do not travel on boat Nile Style as you will not be looked after - rude staff. Poor hygiene, dirty and very very overpriced. If traveling to Egypt then avoid having any involvement with this companyWritten May 15, 2024
- JoeCBansteadUK0 contributionsVery Highly Recommended AgentI was solo in a small group 8 night tour of max 14 - we were 9 ( all very well travelled), South Sinai were the organising agent on behalf of Exodus Travel who in turn operated the tour on behalf of Trailfinders. From being met prior to immigration at Cairo airport until we split in the transit lounge upon departure, the organisation was efficient and unobtrusive everywhere we visited. A tip on the Egyptian e visa - I struggled (and failed) to master the application, being rather anxious about the possibility of huge queues asking all the myriad same questions as the e visa. In fact you simply pay (no questions/forms) US$25 for a stick on visa at a 24/7 bank counter which the Immigration Office simply sticks in your passport - simples! Our guide - Ahmed, a very articulate and well educated (4 year Egyptology Bsc) young man judged the ‘mood’ of our party very quickly and undoubtedly contributed to the success of the tour. We were a disparate group on paper, but to a man/woman the tour was rated a huge success. Tour buses were comfortable and well driven. Visiting Phillae we were the only ferry boat wearing life jackets - another plus for South Sinai. There was a supplementary list of visits which didn’t get the hard sell, but were carefully explained. Throughout Ahmed was knowledgeable, discrete and avoided any large queues/crowds. The sites individually are a matter of personal taste - for me I was personally ‘templed out’ by the time of an opportunity to visit Abu Simbel but others enjoyed the trip. Once again, Ahmed was a star!Written December 17, 2023

- Wander5464950 contributionsWonderful Discoveries in CairoMohammed lend us on a very interesting and engaging tour and encouraged us to let him know of our special interests. Had plenty of time to see the historic sites plus others Mohammed thought we would enjoy. We especially loved the Coptic Museum! The building is a gem itself with impressive craftsmanship from 1901. Our only disappointment was that the Ben Ezra was closed for renovations and had been closed for a long time, so it should not nave been listed as part of the tour. Private tour was well worth every penny! Thanks!Written December 2, 2022
- rayp4690 contributionsExcellent private tour!Joseph was an excellent and knowledgeable guide! Great english and provided an in-depth learning experience at every location. There were three in our party and he made sure we were comfortable and stayed on schedule without feeling rushed or stressed in finishing at a certain time. The lunch location was for tourists and basic food. Would have preferred a more unique and authentic option but was ok. I suggest allowing the customer help determine what is preferred within reason. Thank you to Joseph for a great experience!Written November 27, 2022

He walked us through the airport all the way to the lounge as we navigated the first baggage check, check-in and our extra baggage. We will absolutely use this service and request Farid again!Written September 9, 2022
- MikeR53030 contributionsExtremely DisappointingThis was so disappointing. In the age of technology what a complete let down and totally not wot the $40 I paid for 2 VIP front row seats. To add insult to injury the narrating was in Spainish with a Sony walkman (like) translation headset of very poor quality. My advice would be to skip this low tech show, which is only 40 minutes. Worst still was the usher who quided us to our front row seats and then hovered around endlessly looking for a tip! There is a reading it was only 10% full..... SKIP THIS ONE.Written August 26, 2022
- christopherkQ8123CR0 contributionsFun Evening - Wonderful Picture OpportunitesThis was a fun evening adventure and provided some great photo opportunities. Our guide: Mahmoud Badr and driver: Sabri were very polite and punctual and humorous. Mahmoud is an Egyptologist and provided some great history of the sites/area during our time together. Fun guys and very engaging. We also had time to stop at the Papyrus shop where we were given a demonstration of how it is made and ended up buying a few pieces that were reasonable in price. The light show itself is a bit dated in terms of technology - and should be updated but overall worth a few hours in the evening while you are in Cairo and again for wonderful picture opportunities. Ask for Mahmoud and Sabri and you won't be disappointed. One last thing - be sure to dress appropriately if you go in the colder months as the desert does get chilly with some wind and you will need to bundle upWritten February 18, 2022

We had Henry as our guide and we are so pleased we did! He was a super informative and passionate Egyptologist...my husband and I were blown away by the history lessons and the stories shared with us on the tour. We had a driver, thank goodness, and they both did a wonderful job. He even helped take some amazing photos that will be hung on our walls at home. We still think about that day at the pyramids...what an unforgettable day! Thank you Henry! We will visit again one day and hopefully be able to hire you again in Luxor

Traveled through Petra, then week in Egypt. Sailed the Nile River; visited the Giza Pyramids, saw the Sphinx and all the sites throughout the Valley of the Kings, including Hatsheput, the female pharaoh's resting place & museum. Visited sites of Luxor, Aswan Dam as well. Trip of a lifetime. Highly recommend! Afterward, went to Israel for last party of my journey. One of my favorite trips of all time!!

Visiting the Pyramids, Sphinx and Sakkara was amazing. The see the gifts the ancient Egyptians left the world was something I never thought would happen for me. I also was able to ride a camel from the Pyramids to the Sphinx. a true Bedouin experience. There was so much history to absorb, I know I will go back.
PS Elegant Voyage and our guide, Tamer, provided us with both very special experience and one we will not forget. Thanks, Tamer

Tour guide knowledgeable and willing to explain. I wish it was less commercial around the papyrus offers. It is truly a pitty the city is so full of garbage, there are not proper bathroom facilities at any of the attractions, and the proliferation of street salespeople is overwhealming. Such an amazing site the Pyramids; yet once visited, not to come back.

It has been a lifetime dream for me to visit the pyramids and Egypt in general. We were picked up promptly by a driver and a very enthusiastic guide. On the way to the pyramids he gave us a lot of his background and what we could expect from the day so I was thrilled that we would have all the information when we arrived.
It really is important to get a tour guide if you are not familiar with Egypt… Our tour guide was able to bypass all of the lines and get us in to the pyramid complex very quickly and easily.
Once we actually walked up to the pyramid that’s when things got weird… Apparently our guide wanted to give us a one hour talk standing just 40 yards from the pyramids instead of going straight to them and wondering around as I had expected.
It was news to us that there were six more pyramids besides the main three and we wanted to go see them but he would not let us. My son and I went inside the great pyramid which was incredible, but while we were inside my wife and our friend were not permitted to walk around the complex at all and was consistently Warren to buy the guide that every other human being was going to try and take advantage of them which is not true and extremely weird.
We briefly saw the sphinx and the pyramids from a good vantage point but just as we were expecting to see the solar boat and spend another hour the driver was driving away from the pyramids and as we protested they said sorry that’s all the time we have.
We booked our other two days of tours with other tour groups and had much better experiences… But I did not let our frustration with the tour guide to get in my way of having an incredible day at the pyramids.
After that things went much better we had an incredible lunch on the way to Memphis and Saqqara. By this time our tour guide started listening to us and we asked to make some small changes to the tour and he was amenable to that.
The moral of this long story is this. Whatever tour group you use sit down with the tour guide first thing in the morning and explain exactly what you want to do and tell them exactly your knowledge of what you were going to go see that day. Things will go much better for everybody if you start out on the same page.
It was so frustrating to have a tour guide who didn’t seem to understand our wants and needs but I still gave this four stars because it was very well organized and the day was still incredible no matter how frustrating our guide was.

Our tour from Cairo through Viator was amazing. We were met in the lobby of our hotel promptly. We traveled in comfort & safely. Our tour guide, Amgad Ali, was phenomenal. During our drive to the first destination, Amgad gave us an overview of Egyptian history. He was thoroughly knowledgeable, spoke English perfectly, and sensed the pace we needed to absorb the multitude of information. We, truly, feel we got to experience the magnificence of these sites! You won't be disappointed.
Such kind people who count on the tourist industry to thrive. My suggestion is to be as generous as your wallet permits.

Is it possible to go inside the pyramid AND take a came ride? How much time is allotted for these activities? I would like to avoid being rushed...
From the description: "Get free time to explore inside one of the pyramids independently (additional cost) — your guide is not permitted to accompany you. Alternatively, take a camel ride (additional cost) and absorb the sweeping views over central Cairo"

I saw that the departure time was 9am- about when should we expect to return? My party were interested in trying to make the 7:30 light show at the pyramids. I assume that's feasible?
