Make time to see these three sites
We had a great day, going to Sakkara, Dashur, and Memphis with our tour guide Hosni. He was friendly and professional. The sites themselves were awesome. We went into a couple of the pyramids, which was a really awesome experience. The bent pyramid takes some work, but was worth the effort. You climb down a ways, then go up steps at two different points, then crawl through a tunnel. It is manageable though, even if you are a little out of shape. It is not nearly as hot nor as crowded as the great pyramid. Definitely worth exploring. All three of the sites were fascinating and well worth spending the day to do these three rather than cramming them into one of the tours that also do the pyramids. Do this tour instead of one of those. Hosni also took us to lunch at a restaurant that seems to cater to tour groups. The hospitality and people were warm and friendly. The food was good. The price was $15 USD per person plus drink prices and tip, which is high compared to other restaurants in Egypt, but is average for lunch out in the US. It seems most of the tours we went on had the same food- the mixed grill with accompaniments. I wish we had been able to try a greater variety of food during our time here, but I think they select restaurants that can serve a lot of tourists, which makes sense. The only real drawback was that we were told they accept credit cards but after eating, they said their card reader didn’t work and asked us first to pay in US dollars (most people in the US don’t even carry cash at home, since we use cards or tap our phones to pay everywhere, and we wouldn’t expect to use USD in a foreign country, so didn’t bring much at all). After we told them we have Egyptian Pounds, they went and recalculated and came back with the total in EGP. It all worked out, but felt a little chaotic. So, if you are booking after reading this, bring extra USD. We were also taken to a carpet school. We already did something similar on tour in Morocco, so I didn’t really want to go, but this one was more informative. You really do learn a lot. They also did not pressure us at all. The overall tour was great and I would recommend this tour and Hosni. You will learn a lot about the sites and enjoy your day with him.

Very educational and a good time.
Tarek our guide was very knowledgeable and he communicated in a very clear manner also showing his passion for the subject. We had a great time in the museum learning about Egypt's vast history. I would recoomend using Tarek Rizk as your guide if visiting a museum in Cairo.

          A fascinating and historic tour
My daughter and I had a wonderful time touring Coptic and Islamic Cairo. We visited the historic churches and mosques of Cairo, as well as the Citadel, a fortification built by Saladin in the 1100s. Highlights included the Muhammad Ali Mosque (made of alabaster) and St. Simon Church (in a cave beneath a mountain). Also included were churches along the path taken by the Holy Family during their flight into Egypt. Truly historic! Our tour was much enhanced by our guide, Zizou, whose knowledge of Islamic, Christian and Ancient Egypt history is truly impressive. Zizou is a friendly and accommodating guide who aims to please. He encouraged questions and readily offered to take pictures, pointing out the best locations. It was our good luck to have him as our guide.

          Budget Tour
We did the “Budget White Desert Tour” and it was lacking. You get a driver, not a guide, who barely speaks during the tour (while it does say this online, we were expecting a bit more). There was not a lot of communication throughout the tour or once we got to camp so we were often confused. The desert itself is way out there so you spend a lot of time in the car driving to and from locations. But, camping in the desert was a cool experience, the food was great, and we sang and danced at night which was fun. Besides the lower quality of our budget tour, we also just didn’t think the White Desert was worth it.

Islamic Cairo - should be a half day Tour
This is a review of a full day tour booked to see Islamic Cairo, citadel and the Bazaar. The tour disappeared from the company’s Home page after we booked it and what we got was more like a half day tour to a full day tour Price. The guide Hosni did a great job, friendly and fun. Also the driver got us around safely without problems.

Fascinating tour of old Christian churches
This was a fascinating tour of a different side of Cairo. It started with a drive through the narrow, dirty and chaotic streets of “Garbage City,” the only way to reach St. Simon Church. That drive was an experience unto itself. St. Simon is a unique and gorgeous church in a cave beneath a mountain. It was built only about 50 years ago — much more recently than the other churches on the tour — but has an old-world charm of its own. The other churches, also beautiful and well-worth seeing, are clustered together in the Coptic center of Cairo. Our guide was Zizou, a charming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable Egyptologist. This was our third tour with Zizou and his skilled driver, Ehab. The two previous tours covered (1) the pyramids and the new Grand Egyptian Museum and (2) Saqqara, Memphis and Dashur. The breath of Zizou’s knowledge of the history of Ancient Egypt, Islam and Christianity is truly impressive. He brings a high level of enthusiasm and incisiveness to his work. He also encourages questions and frequently offers to take pictures from perfect spots. It was our good luck to have him as our guide.

Giza Pyramids and Egyptian museum with Deluxe Tours is a must in Cairo
Exceptionel experience to see the Giza pyramids, go inside the Keops pyramid (only recommended for the fit and non-claustrofobic people), go on a camel ride, have a great local koshari lunch and see the amazing Egyptian museum. We had Hosni as our guide - he spoke perfect English, answered all our questions and learned is a lot. Very friendly and respectful. Took lots of fantastic photos of us. I highly recommend this tour which was a dream come true. We also had a great driver that navigatedus safely through the busy traffic and always was ready to collect us.

The GEM is amazing but having a private guide makes it so much better
Zizou was an excellent guide. I highly recommend him. He was very knowledgeable especially about all the hieroglyphics on the various exhibits at the GEM and his English is excellent. He was my private guide for a day and a half visiting the GEM, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square particularly for the Tutankhamen exhibits, the Museum of Egyptian Civilisation where the Royal Mummies exhibit was amazing and the Giza Plateau. My enjoyment and understanding of all the displays was made so much better with Zizou’s explanations Thanks

Unfortunately, I felt the need to cut my tour with Mahmoud short as I felt so uncomfortable. Although he knows a lot about Cairo, he spent a big portion of our time together talking about my looks instead. I did not realise I was the only one who had booked onto the tour until he showed up at the hotel on his own with a driver.

I’m a blonde, blue eyed, female solo traveller and would not recommend that other young female travellers to do this tour on their own. Mahmoud would get very close to my face when talking, he would tell me I was beautiful on repeat and he also struggled telling a coherent story in english. I had to google most of the places after visiting them as his stories didn’t make much sense.

Although I did end the tour early we spent about half an hour just sitting in a restaurant drinking tea rather than seeing more of the city and prior to that we simply drove past some of the most beautiful sights. Please also bear in mind some mosques are closed if you do this tour in the evening.

I was told by locals there are much better walking tours out there.

We would highly recommend this tour with Tito to anyone looking to explore Islamic Cairo. The area itself was architecturally beautiful and steeped in history. Tito was an excellent guide and made the history come to life, stopping at each noteworthy building to explain the story behind it. He was extremely knowledgeable, answering any questions we had. He was also very flexible and friendly and let us decide which parts of the tour or area we wanted to focus on. Again, would highly recommend both Tito and the tour to anyone visiting Cairo - thank you Tito!

Our guide Hussein Elgaby was excellent and we would definitely recommend him! The tour was fantastic and showed us another side of Cairo altogether. We had kids ages 14, 12 and 9 with us and walking around this area of town with Hussein as out guide made us feel at ease. Unfortunately as it was a Friday (and simply because it was so busy) we couldn't enter the mosque but that was ok with us, we had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this to others travelling to Cairo.

I had a phenomenal time exploring Islamic Cairo and Khan el Khalili with Titto as my guide and highly recommend it to everyone visiting Cairo. From the moment the tour started, Titto's warm and personable approach made me feel welcomed and at ease. His passion for the local history and culture shone through in each fact and every story he shared, turning the walk through the historical areas into a captivating journey through time.

Titto's knowledge is remarkable. He provided detailed explanation of the historical and cultural significance of each location, offering insights that I could never have gained from guidebooks. What set Titto apart as a guide was not just his expertise but also his ability to engage in enjoyable and meaningful conversations, answer any question thrown his way, and tailor the tour to my interests.

By the end of the tour, I felt like I had seen the heart and soul of Islamic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili through the eyes of someone who loves and understands the city. It was an immersive cultural experience to remember. Thank you, Titto.

This was the second tour our family did with Zizou during our trip to Cairo. Zizou is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to ensure your tour goes beyond expectations. He is also very patient while answering our thousand and one questions. He always ensured our safety while walking beside vehicles and in the market.

Again, Zizou personalized our experience by bringing us to reputable vendors for items we wished to purchase and even helped us bargain for the best price. He also managed to convince a papyrus vendor to stay open after hours, so we could buy some papyrus paintings.

Overall a really good tour. Mo was very informational and knew a lot of information about the mosques we went to. The experience was a little confusing and chaotic at times because we had to pay extra to enter all the mosques, and had to circle back through the market to go to the famous spot to take pictures. The tour was also a lot shorter than the 5 hours advertised. Ours lasted ~2.5 hours. But overall I would recommend this to others.

Zanetti speaks English well, explained the history of Egypt and Cairo. He helped navigate the market and workshops. He was patient and helpful in every way. Our tour lasted longer than planned as he helped track down goldsmiths on a Sunday which was very appreciated and overall a fun time! Highly recommend Zanetti and Deluxe Travel. The driver Omar was very polite and safe, the Deluxe Travel vans are nice.

We went for a half day tour according to our own requests and not the standard program, very good that the tour organiser had the flexibility to adapt to individual requests with very short notice. With the help of our excellent guide Zanaty we got an excellent insight on modern history of Egypt. With his support and patience, we also succefully negotiated through the labyrint of the market and got ourselves some really nice Egyptian artifacts

What a truly awesome tour, all enhanced by my amazing guide Mo and driver Omar, who were both exceptional and first class: very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Both really excelled in ensuring that I got the most out of the walking tour, and the additional visit to the papyrus centre and carpet making centre were really interesting. Mo was so knowledgeable and informative about Egyptian history, and I learn’t so much. I loved this tour and highly recommend it.

A great introduction to the history and culture of Cairo. Our guide, Zizou, took us to the Mosque of al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah where we learned about its cultural and architectural significance. We also were given a history of Egypt; from its three periods of Egyptian civilization, Greek, Roman and Ottoman as well as French and British influences. . We learned the five principles of the Islamic Faith. We then toured the souk of Khan el-Khalili were Zizou guided us past the many vendors. We enjoyed freshly squeezed sugar cane and mango drinks as well as enjoyed coffee and mint tea. We then took a van to both an Egyptian perfume shop and cotton shop, upon our request. The tour was very flexible. Zizou was great! Even before he told us he had a masters degree (in I believe) Egyptian history, I thought he presented material far better than many of my post graduate training professors. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and proud to share his heritage. Ask for Zizou.
