It was enjoy to spend time here, Nana and her team was so passionate and paid so many attention to our visit and share their experience and stories. - sophog20200 contributionsAn insight into Real Georgian Family Cooking TraditionsI had been looking for an authentic class in Tbilisi where I could take my guests and be sure that it reflects real Georgian culture of making food rather than a tourist-oriented trap or a very professional cooking school. Nana’s Kitchen was exactly that. Chakapuli was amazing, instructions were clear, Nana and her staff were amazing, and the food we all made was delicious. The class provided easy to recreate recipes, info about substitutes and a great intro about Georgian traditions.Written March 8, 2020
- 891ninog0 contributionsAmazing experienceAmazing time with friends how to make wonderful authentic dishes and a tasty meal at the end. The venue itself is very bright, spacious and unique surrounding by a beautiful garden. Certainly will come back with guests and friends.Written March 8, 2020
- afJarrus580 contributionsA must-try when you visit Tbilisi!Fantastic lesson on how to make khachapuri and Khinlali! Nana and her helpers made every step clear and easy to understand ... we made each dish and cooked them in the beautiful kitchen, then ate our whole batch of food with wonderful wine and chacha!! All ingredients were fresh, delicious. Instructions very clear and the experience was a lot of fun! Nana is an amazing chef, and her kitchen offers a warm and welcoming home atmosphere... I highly recommend to all! After my lesson, I feel like I won’t need to eat anything more for three days or more! Yum!Written March 3, 2020

I was the only participant and I was made to feel welcome and right at home. Mariam greeted me and she was so warm and easy to speak with. I enjoyed our conversation. Nana was wonderful! A great teacher and an excellent cook! Her granddaughter did a lot of translating and we also shared some great conversation. They taught me exactly how to cook everything and taught me about Georgian customs and traditions. The menu was very approachable for any skill level and a great introduction to Georgian cuisine. We made a walnut sauce and used it for two different appetizers, imeruli khachapuri, and a chicken stew (this was spectacular!) They also gave me suggestions for other things to do in Georgia, recommend providers, and also helped me buy tickets to a marionette show (was also awesome!) It was a wonderful cooking experience but it was made even better by such warm and generous hospitality. I think I stayed an hour longer than scheduled because I was having such a nice conversation with granddaughter Anastasia.

My time at Nana's master class was truly incredible. Nana has created a wonderfully warm and homely setting that transforms the class into a delightful home-cooked meal experience. Together, we prepared various dishes, sipped on wine, and engaged in lively conversations. Nana not only explained the recipes but also demonstrated them through her own cooking. Personally participating in the cooking process was a highlight for me, making the day all the more enjoyable. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Nana for crafting such a inviting atmosphere and for a fantastic day.

My friends and I were warmly welcomed into Nana's gorgeous kitchen and garden space and enjoyed a fun afternoon in the kitchen cooking with her. She accommodated our vegan dietary preferences and we cooked more food than we could possibly eat in one sitting!
Our wine glasses were never empty and enjoyed the experience making and preparing the food for ourselves (under Nana's mindful supervision of course!)
Covid safe precautions were highly respected and strictly followed, with hand washing, hand sanitizer, and mask wearing adhered to. The kitchen doors were also left open to keep the space well ventilated.
It was very yummy and fun afternoon! Highly recommend.

The cooking class experience was perfect! It was a lovely day so I decided to walk from my hotel in Liberty Square to the Nana's Kitchen. Took 40 minutes. Bolt would've been faster and affordable and the bus would've been cheap but I knew I needed to burn some calories before the cooking class.
I'm glad I did. By the time I arrived, Mariam greeted me and showed me around the beautiful kitchen and dining room. The area was spacious, very clean, relaxed and jazz music was playing in the background. She introduced me to Nana who was shy with her English but to me it was perfect enough to give great instructions. Mariam gave me delicious Georgian wine and Nana put me to work.
In the end, I learned how to cook eggplants with walnuts and pomegranates, red bell pepper with traditional sauce, chakhkhbili chicken stew, and khachapuri. The food was excellent and the instruction was fabulous. Both Mariam and Nana were absolutely 100% fantastic! Can't wait to make these delicious and vegetable heavy dishes for my friends and family.

Together with a friend of mine, I spent most of a Saturday in Nana's kitchen together, with a crew of Nana's family members and friends, learning how to make some Georgian Classics. I learned how to make one of my favorites - spinach phkali - but also found a new favorite in the fragrant Chakhapuli.
The environment of Nana's Kitchen is relaxed, cozy, modern yet traditional. I would recommend this cooking class to anyone who wants a chill day, learning something new, in a nice and cool environment together with a modern Georgian family. Nana is great at what she does, and who better to learn Georgian cooking from, than an experienced Georgian grandmother!

Nana’s Kitchen experience was such a great way to spend our time in Tbilisi. I felt so immersed in Georgian culture. Nana and her friend were so sweet and made us feel so comfortable in her home. The space was decorated beautifully with seemingly all new renovated equipment. They were also flexible with changing the menu as we had gotten sick of Khachapuri by that point in the trip lol. Highly recommend to anyone in Tbilisi, especially on a rainy day. Thank you!

A family business that radiated warmth and hospitality. We had a wonderful afternoon with Nana and her daughter and grandson. Strict guidance, with a little humor, and we all sat at the table, enjoying the food, and the conversation afterwards.
I (Papa 54) was there with 3 daughters, and a son, aged 21-28 years, and we are already talking about visiting Nana again. Although this was something we had ordered, it became a pleasant surprise, and the best holiday memories from our trip to Georgia.
Everything was perfect. Everything was clean and practical. We felt almost like home after a few minutes.
If I was to find one thing, it must be that there was a little bit too much salt in the 2 dishes we made, but we will try to make it again, when we get home, then we will see....

We had such a lovely time at Nana's Kitchen. Highly, highly recommend to anyone interested in learning to make a few Georgian dishes. As soon as we arrived, the kitchen was filled with warmth and joy, and soon after - the incredible aromas of the dishes we prepared. We sipped homemade wine while Nana walked us through each step of the process. We made 4 dishes: Chakaphuli (Georgian Veal and Tarragon Stew), Pkhali (Spinach with Walnuts), Red Pepper Filled with Walnut Paste, Eggplant Filled with Walnut Paste, and Georgian Cornbread. Everything was SO SO SO delicious - better than you can find in any restaurant. My favorite was the Chakaphuli because I've never even seen it in a restaurant. It's a seasonal dish reserved for the spring. I can't wait to try these dishes at home!

We had a wonderful afternoon at Nana‘s Place with lovely Georgian people who enabled us the best cooking experience in Tbilisi.
Nana herself speaks only Georgian but that’s no problem at all as her daughters and friends of the family - who also joined the class - speak perfect English. We cooked some delicious dishes such as filled eggplants/red peppers with walnut paste, Khachapuri, Chakhokhbili and more. At the end of the class we enjoyed the freshly cooked food with Georgian red wine of the vineyards of a family‘s friend.
Strong recommendation for people who want to dive in the countrie‘s food culture and get in contact with lovely Georgien people :-)

My brother and I had a great experience cooking with Nana and Mariam. Although I am a terrible Khinkali maker, it was a fun wine-filled experience. The best part was having a meal with 3 generations of Georgian women and being able to chat about life in Georgia. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in Georgian food!
