Kakheti’s two main towns, Sighnaghi and Telavi, have both undergone significant re-development in recent years and have a lot to offer tourists as a result. Red-roofed Sighnaghi is certainly the more atmospheric of the two; Telavi, Kakheti’s capital, is better networked in terms of inter-city transportation. Either can be used as a base for day trips around Kakheti’s winery-studded countryside, which is by far the most popular thing to do in this part of Georgia.

But from the night before the trip I have been sending messages with no reply. Calls made to the number - got the message- mobile switched off or out of coverage area. Nobody bothered to call me or message me. My money is gone and there is no response from the company. I doubt if this company really exists.Written November 13, 2021

Morning of the tour, the English speaking guide messaged that he would not be picking me up at the airport, his father would instead. I arrived to the airport and no one was waiting. I called and the English speaking guide, who informed me that he was dead and could not pick me up. He then explained that his father, who spoke no English, and was not dead and would give me the day tour. His father finally arrived to the airport to collect me. After all this back and forth, I had been waiting at the airport for around 1 hour. I requested the father take me to the hotel and leave me there... there was no point in continuing. I paid for an English speaking guide. Agreed this man sounded quite sick on the phone, I hope he is feeling better, but I didn't appreciate the humor if that is what it was supposed to be. He should have found a replacement guide, or simply canceled the tour, offered a refund, and explained the situation.Written September 24, 2019
