- Keri I0 contributionsVardzia tourOur guide Irakli arrived on time as scheduled, we were picked- up at our apartment. He knew places for views and pictures along the way, was accomodating about stopping for a bathroom or rest. Good conversation and knowledge of the area, history, and local culture. We visited Vardzia and Khertvisi fortress, also the local beer microbrewery was a nice way to finish the day. We were dropped off at our apartment at the end of the day. This excursion takes all day: wear good shoes, bring water, hat Thanks Irakli, would book againWritten July 26, 2024
- 894sayantand0 contributionsMystic ArmeniaWe thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Armenia. Thanks to our very knowledgeable guide Irakli, we had a wonderful experience of the mystic region. The scenic country along with it’s treasured history, the esoteric monasteries and a great taste of the Armenian culture made it a delightful experience.Written June 23, 2024
- Sue H0 contributionsAmazing Armenian tour - highly recommended !We did a 3-day guided tour from Tblisi to Yerevan and back with Irakli. He fetched us (my husband, myself and our friend) on time in his Lexus SUV and we started the journey to Yerevan. Once across the border our action packed tour started. Each day we saw beautiful mountain scenery, stunning ancient monasteries and lots of beautiful art and soaked up lots of history, based on Irakli’s recommendations. We enjoyed experiencing Armenian cuisine based on the restaurants recommended by Irakli. On the way back we visited Lake Sevan and we skirted along the Azerbaijan border! With Irakli’s amazing driving skills we managed to navigate a dreadful storm with high winds and fallen trees, across main roads, after crossing the border ! Irakli returned us safely back to Tblisi. We can really recommend Irakli as a skilled and knowledgable tour guide.Written June 21, 2024

- tanveenk20240 contributionsDay Trip to ArmeniaMy husband & I took a trip to Armenia with Irakli, an amazing tour guide. The entire experience was wonderful & a breeze. We saw some breathtaking views of Lake Sevan from the Sevanavank monastery atop the hill & Haghpat was such a highlight for us. Odzun monastery was absolutely gorgeous. We had the best time exploring Armenia for a day. Definitely recommend it to everyone!!Written May 29, 2024
- gurjasb20240 contributionsWonderful One Day trip to ArmeniaIrakli is such an experienced and knowledgeable guide. We chose to see Lake Sevan, Odzun Monastry, Sanahin Town and Haghpat monastry, all in one day. He took for meals and explained us everything about the country’s history. He’s a good photographer as well 😁Written May 23, 2024

- Voyage670699651650 contributionsDid the tour as a transfer to Yerevan and it was GREAT!I booked this as a day tour AND transfer to kill 2 birds with one stone, and it was honestly so worth it! Irakli was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable, funny, and also a great photographer and can take great photo/video of you which I loved. It's great to see Haghpat, Sanahin, and Sevanavat on the way to Yerevan so you can experience all these parts of Armenia while you transfer there from Tbilisi and don't have to backtrack by doing more day trips from Yerevan. Irakli also takes you to other fun viewpoints and spots along the way, off the itinerary, and knows the best photo spots and viewpoints. Thank you so much!Written March 19, 2024
- ninou4510 contributionsAmazingI can freely say that it was one of the most interesting and memorable trips. Besides the places we saw were breathtaking, including amazing nature, the main value of this trip was its guide, who was extremely professional, knowledgeable about his work and history, energetic and enthusiastic. He answered all our questions thoroughly and was ready to help us in everything. He filled us all with amazing energy because of his sense of humor. The family we visited for dinner was also very hospitable. In short, everything was better organized than I could have imagined. Definitely recommend getting this experience!Written February 18, 2024

- _HedoniZ0 contributionsOh, it was so pretty. From the beginning, I couldn't even imagine. All of you must see.never thought that Armenia could be so wonderful. It was amazing. Our tour leader was so friendly and funny. Also, I must mention, he was a good driver. You will find out, why you need a skilled driver in Armenia. Roads are rough and not in a good shape. He was experienced and knew, where it was better to stop and relax from the road.Written January 31, 2024
- 685tariquem0 contributionsGreat Georgian tour with the best guide ( friend) IrakliMe and my wife had the most amazing getaway in Georgia 🇬🇪. If it wasn't for our guide Irakli this would have not been the same, we visited the most beautiful mountains, monasteries and was indulged with Georgian Nature, forests and cuisines. Our good friend Irakli took utmost care of us and made us feel very safe in each and every place we visited and took us in a splash from one location to another. His in depth knowledge of Georgian history and about the tour locations made it far more interesting and helpful for us. We thank you Irakli for the Amazing tour and your great companionship provided to us for the second time in Georgia and soon will be the third time which is not that far 😀.Written October 21, 2023
- Passport4930670 contributionsAmazing Experience Travelling through Georgia with a Wonderful and Trustworthy CompanyAfter decades of travelling, this was my first ever tour. I cannot say how glad I am that I decided on this Georgian Essence tour with Wonderful Travel. It was an exceptional experience! Highly recommended! Giving 8 days to a stranger (tour company) was a big leap that I am sure I would not have taken had it not been for the responses to my queries by Irakli. As a solo traveller it is risky to take a private tour to remote areas with no guarantees of the safety or personalities of the guide. In preliminary responses, Irakli was so personable and professional - it reassured me that this could work. I also really appreciated that they allowed for one-person tours at a premium but not double the cost (paying for two). From the first day when Tato (brother to Irakli) picked me up and we set off into the Georgian countryside from Tbilisi that balance of personable and professional was maintained. The SUV was super comfortable, with wifi and a large sunroof which was wonderful for seeing the mountains and colours as we drove. We drove a lot! I think we covered over 1500 kms - from east to west, north to south. Tato was a very confident driver. It took a few days for my confidence level up with his, to be sure, but after a few days I grew to appreciate the surety of his driving. Some of the roads were pretty dodgy and scary for me, but at no time did Tato's confidence wane and he was quick to assure me that we were safe. By the end of the trip I knew through experience that he well deserves the confidence with which he drives. We did not follow this itinerary specifically - as it was adjusted to add in some hiking and more off-the-beaten-path options. I outlined my interests and their team created a unique and really fascinating and rewarding trip for me. Highlights were so many it is hard to say - but here are a few: walking along Signagi City Walls (wow!) and lunch with the most remarkable view; road cows; the Palace of King Erekle II and 900-year old tree in Telavi; slo-mo cows; gorgeous views on route to and from Datvijvari Pass; exploring and sleeping in a medieval fortress at Shatili; sheep-dogs that channel polar bears when chasing your car; hiking in snowfall to the remarkable views at the blue lake; Gudauri Friendship Monument - the views!; churches and fortresses all unique and with such incredible views... (a theme in Georgia); Stalin Museum in Gori; forest walks to Tsar baths in Borjomi; vineyard baby cow; Prometheus Cave; mama pig feasting; Martvili Canyon; smiling dogs; the juxtaposition of new and old in Batumi; the road from Batumi to Rabati Castle - wow! the views... ; and, the remarkable exploring of Vardzia cave city... to name just a few. I am not much of a sitter and usually work, read or write when I have to just "sit" but I almost never looked down while driving on this trip (recall we drove a lot!). There was a peace about moving through the ridiculously gorgeous landscape of Georgia - not having to think about where you are going, staying, what's next etc - it is all taken care of (and well). Driving is a major component of the "wow" in this journey - the views; the COWS (heart) and other animals; stopping to see how regional varieties of breads are made etc - it is all flexible and a bit of a choose your own adventure. I was quite unsure of "how to tour" like this, but I will for sure do this again after this experience with Wonderful Travel. Tato the guide was very thoughtful, intelligent, honest and had my back throughout the trip. I didn't have to worry about anything (well, some of the roads jumped that caveat but that is just how it is). He communicated historical, cultural, societal and relevant information where needed but there was no pressure to make conversation, which I appreciated. It was very laid back and easy to travel with him as my guide. Each night Tato would show me the accommodation that they had selected and ensure that I was comfortable before leaving - always letting me know he was available online if needed. The accommodations that they picked were diverse and mostly really great. They were often places I would not have chosen or found on my own, but that too was part of the experience as some were absolutely exceptional, others were shockingly comfortable and a couple were with views that ... wow. As a whole, I was really impressed with the accommodation and the meals provided! With the guide's help selecting lunch items I was able to try many Georgian food items that I normally would have never thought to. So good! In summary - I quickly grew to trust that the Wonderful Travel team had integrity and I could trust that they would deliver the experience they promised - and well! I didn't have to second guess things. Normally when you travel solo - esp as a female - you have to question most things to make sure your assumptions are not misaligned with the culture, tourist traps etc. This trip, I could trust Tato and his team to deliver the experience and I really just relax and experience all of the views, cows, places and people we encountered. If you are considering this tour - or any with this company - just do it! It is not everyday that there is a company you can trust - but in my experience this is one you can. They are out to create great tours for people and are really good at what they do! Thanks Tato and team - it was a truly wonderful travel experience!Written October 18, 2023
- Suprithakumar10 contributionsExcellent Georgia Tour by IrakliIrakli is such a warm personality and a highly motivated guide (recommendable!). I truly enjoyed the trip, the suggestions he made, numerous stops to click pics and it was a relief to have him with us. He created a home-like environment for us - willing to ask and answer questions, and took wonderful pics for us. All respect for Irakli who does a great job - a true example of an excellent tour guide! Upon arrival we felt welcomed with such a friendly demeanour and we had a fantastic start with Irakli driving us to Chronicles of Georgia. In the next few days, we found him to be very flexible, and Irakli made suggestions and accommodated the changes very easily. For that he deserves a special thanks. He is extremely trustworthy, is well aware of his limits and I recommend him to everyone!Written October 14, 2023
