I thoroughly enjoyed this Garmarjoba Georgia Tour thanks largely to my knowledgeable guide, Guga Evgenidze and my nerves-of-steel driver, Mikheil Meladze.

I was transferring from Tbilisi to Kazbegi to stay for 2 nights. I was picked up at my Tbilisi hotel and dropped off at the end of the day at my Kazbegi hotel (tired and windblown but very happy).

The sights along the way were interesting (the Jinvali reservoir, the Ananuri Castle and the Russian Georgian Friendship Monument). We also stopped by the confluence of 2 rivers that in Spring would have different colors but at this time of year, there was not much to see. What was more interesting was getting to talk to Guga and Mikheil about Georgian history, politics, food, sports and music. These guys have a real passion for their country and an enthusiasm that was contagious.

By the time we reached the friendship monument and Gergeti church, we were battling strong winds and new snow (the ride up to Gergeti was pretty challenging). So I didn't spend much time at these sites but I got great photos of the mountains and mountain roads in snow.

Meals and the jeep ride to Gergeti (50GEL) were in addition to the tour cost. I thought the restaurant Guga chose for lunch was so good and walked back down to it the next day for lunch.

My wife and I went on this tour on August 14th, 2021. This was the first time we saw real mountains, and it was breathtaking. Our guide Lasha was very nice and attentive, shared a ton of information during the tour - facts, tips and stories.
We saw Jinvali reservoir, Ananuri fortress, stopped at Gudauri for a break, then moved to the Cross Pass, Stepantsminda, took a delightful ride to Gergetri Trinity church. On the way back, we stopped at the Russia-Georgia friendship monument, had a dinner and returned to Tbilisi. All the trip took us ~11 hours.
Unfortunately, weather was not very pleasant, we have not seen the Kazbegi mountain top, and were not able to go paragliding.
But in any case, we loved the tour and can recommend it - especially to those who hasn't seen the mountains.
Kudos to the driver Zuru as well, for his attention and comfortable driving.
Thank you to Gamarjoba Georgia Tours for the great experience!

The Kazbegi tour was definitely the most exciting experience in our visit to Georgia. The success of tours to mountain areas depends on several factors: weather, general organisation and guides. While the first one is in the full control of the Lord, the rest depends on the agency you work with.
Gamarjoba staff was very proessional from the early stages of planning the tour and until very last minute we said "Thanks & bye" to our guide Katerina and driver Zura.
Zura's driving is very safe which is extreamely important on the sometimes narrow and slippery roads and Katerina's guiding is friendly, unobtrusive and informative.
The views are breathtaking, especially in a good weather and the Gergeti church must not be missed (the visit is maked as optional by Gamarjoba).
Some practical suggestion:
1. dress appropriately, it can be very windy
2. put on shoes with a good greep
3. for the photgraphers: you'll be able to use all lenses from wide angle to tele.
4. leave the Ananuri fortress for the way back to have more sunlight in the mountains

One of the best tours i had so far in Georgia, and what made the tour even more special is our guide Naniko and our lovely driver Misho.
Naniko provided a ton of historical information and kept us entertain throughout the full trip

During the ride we stopped at Highlights:

Jinvali Water Reservoir
Ananuri Fortress Complex
Very delicious lunch
Gudauri View Point - Friendship arch of Georgian and Russian people
Stepantsminda
Gergeti Trinity Church
The Rooms Hotel Kazbegi

Unfortunately there was a lot of fog and we did not enjoy the view from the trinity church as much as we should but no one can control the weather but it is worth checking the forecast before you book.

One of the advantages of the private tour is that we chose to try the cable car , we paid extra 20 for 2, almost 25 minutes between the mountains , it was a very relaxing ride. You can also choose to do the paragliding instead.

In short this tour is a must if you are visiting Georgia

It was an out of the world experience. The guide Nina (of Gamarjoba tours and travels) was amazing and was very detailed about every spot we visited. Driver David was very helpful too. They were able to provide the insight as well as the warmth we travelers expect. I have 4 year old twin daughters and both Nina and David helped us a lot with them. Holding their hands and getting them down from the car, helping with the luggage, literally everything. It was such an amazing experience.

Thank you Gamarjoba 😄😄

As expected our friendly guide cum Driver Georgi was there to pick us up right in time. we went to Ananuri and surrounding places taking memorable photos. As again our Georgi Kireusvili took wonderful photos of us. We spent almost 2 hours in the snow playing around. George like a family member got involved in our activities and made it more colorful. George brought his car close to us so that he can put on the car karaoke music so that our daughter can sing the song. That video is excellent. it was an unforgettable wonderful experience.

The most amazing part of this private tour is BUTA our travel guide. He is simply the best even though he is very young and new in this job. He does not only speak very good English he also expresses his thoughts very well. He is very engaging and never boring. He made us feel comfortable. The trip is very informative and we learned a lot about Georgian culture.

Definitely will come back to Georgia and get again tours from Gamarjoba!!!!!

If I come back it will be for Kazbeki. The snow cladded mountains, the gorge and beautiful landscape, what made the trip even more amazing was getting to know about the history, culture people which was well explained by our guide Naniko and even though our drive was long but it was smooth due to the well experienced driver Zaza.

It a must to visit Kazbeki whenever you visit Georgia.
