About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- annarumsby10 contributionsDO NOT BOOK THIS TOURThe guide didn't arrive! It's impossible to give zero stars, but we would if we could. Now we need to get a refund. Left us waiting and took our money.Written August 17, 2024

- cynthia H0 contributionsKazbegi, Gergetti and AnanuriI am still puzzled as we didn't stop at any place or area called Kazbegi. OUr guide said that it was renamed stepanandra, which we also didn't visit but he told us about the local legend. THis was a short day - we were back at the hotel by 16.30hrs. Gergeti was the highlight and an excellent visit. General concern all tour cars do not appear to be licenced to carry tourists - does this matter??Written July 14, 2019
- BhaktiHuang0 contributionsVery good private tourA very nice half day tour to 3 monasteries in Mtskheta, with enough time to see them. Also nice walk passing the shops in town. Worthwhile if you have only little time and want to do something outside the city in a half day. The touroperator also contacts you as soon as you book by what's app and short before the tour leaves.Written July 1, 2019

- World2Explor0 contributionsBreathtaking viewsThe trip from tiblisi is a warm 22 degrees. But the further you go up north and the weather changes from sunny to snow top mountains. Despite wearing the wrong type of clothing the cold temperature and the snow top mountains are a breath of fresh area and absolute beauty, I simply can’t complain. My suggestion, whether you want to hike or not come prepared for hiking and bring a warm jacket. As you drive up the mountain the temperature drops about 5 degrees so it is colder once your at the top. But to be honest the scenery is so beautiful you forget the cold.Written May 2, 2019

I really appreciate your coordination and arrangements ( Sandro & David ) and wish you all the best. Keep it up and good luck for your future.Written February 13, 2019

- Harrison J0 contributionsMust do if you want to experience Georgia. Our tour guide was SO accommodating and friendly. He even offered to buy stuff for us at a cheaper price if the sales people try to rip the tourists off. The orthodox churches of Mtskheta were absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. Next, the drive to Gori takes you along a stunning valley with beautiful mountains and hills along both sides. The museum of Joseph Stalin albeit cheap, did provide an interesting history behind one of the most ruthless dictators in history. Also, the original train car in which he rode all around Russia was one of the best historical experiences I’ve ever experienced. The Gori fortress on the top of the hill offered a great view of the town and the surrounding mountains, practically to yourself! Although the climb can be a little challenging for young kids, it’s not what you’d call hard or long. Lastly, our visit to Uplistsikhe was without a doubt he highlight of the trip. Being able to freely roam around a pre-Christ city carved into the mountains was a true surreal experience. I must give a huge thanks to our guide for providing us with this fantastic tour of Georgia.Written June 16, 2018
- Genalyn G0 contributionsGreat serviceWent last month and David was a great tour guide. He picked me up and also dropped me back to the airport. He also drove me to Kazbegi and back to Tbilis. There was a snowstorm on the day I was supposed to go back to Tbilisi and David was very patient and updated me with weather and road closure updates. He was also very helpful throughout my stay. Recommended. I’d hire him again on my next trip! :)Written April 21, 2018

This tour has alot to offer, and if you don’t spend too long in each site, you’ll manage to see everything and get back early. The beauty of the Gudauri region will amaze you. If you are an adrenaline junkie, and plan ahead, you’ll be able to book a paragliding session. Unfortunately I didn’t k now about it, so there was no time to do it. During this tour, you’ll also visit many beautiful churches and monasteries including the UNESCO site- Jvari Monastery. Our guide Lasha was very friendly and took lovely photos of us :)

Our visit to Georgia was limited to just 2 full days. First day was the city tour and the next day we opted to go to surrounding areas including Mtskheta, Ananuri, Gudauri and Kazbegi for a full day tour. Tour operator was Tour2georgia. This company with full professionalism contacted us the day prior on whatsapp, introducing themselves and asking us the pick up time. On April 20th at 1030hrs – the appointed time, our guide cum driver Vakho arrived at the hotel to pick us up. It was raining once again as we set out with a full day rain forecast. The first thing that struck us about Vakho was his quiet yet friendly and welcoming demeanour. Enroute we stopped at a supermarket which I also entered to pick up some chocolates and other eatables for the drive ahead. Vakho would not let me pay for it. He insisted on paying for them. This was very different from tours in any other country we had undertaken before. During the course of the drive Vakho opened up about his life, how he was a part time guide and shared pictures of his lovely family. He was extremely knowledgeable not only of the places that he took us to see such as the Jvari Monastery, Castle at Ananuri and Dam, Gudauri and Mtskheta but also was passionately patriotic sharing interesting anecdotes from Georgian history, their relationship with the Russians, life of the common man in Georgia, the Georgian religious beliefs, the Orthodox church etc. Our small group of four were never like a tourist group and guide but like a bunch of friends chatting and joking and enjoying the wonderful sights of the Georgian countryside.
Gudauri – a ski resort which also houses the (in)famous Russia-Georgia Friendship monument deserves special mention. Located at altitude over 7000ft, it was covered in snow and while the temperature showed 0 deg C, the wind chill made it feel at least -10 deg C. We engaged in some snowball target practice and had thoroughly good time before the snow and wind drove us back to the car. Vakho was in his element… he stopped by the roadside where a woman was selling natural honey and got us to taste nearly all her sample. It was truly awesome and we picked up some honey to carry back home as well.
Kazbegi was closed due to heavy snow and landslides and we then headed to Mtskheta which houses the second largest Cathedral in Georgia. It was a divine place. Enroute Vakho took us to a typical Georgian restaurant and introduced us to some awesome local delicacies. Vakho’s intimate local knowledge again helped us pick up some preserved fruity knick-knacks of the sort we never see in our country. The Cathedral at Mtskheta was a divine experience. Georgian churches and cathedrals are truly unique. This was our first time in an Orthodox church. Vakho went great lengths to explain various ceremonies and upon my wife’s request even tried to convince one of the priests to click a photo with us. The priest politely declined and both he and Vakho were so apologetic it was difficult to fathom who felt more sorry for not clicking a picture with us. Lovely country with lovely people.
Vakho, you and Tours2georgia made us feel not like tourists but like we were visiting friends and family. We are truly grateful for the experience and without doubt would recommend you and your company to friends visiting Georgia. If you happen to be visiting India, do please let me know… it would be great to have you here as our guest.

I should have been alerted when I seen there were no reviews of this operator for some 3 years. This is not a reliable outfit, failing to deliver on a pre booked and pre paid tour. Attempts to secure a refund remain on-going but the company are, of course, incommunicado.

This is an amazing tour for first time visitors. Goga, our guide, was friendly, extremely mannered, funny, knew history well and helped us take amazing photos. He is very VERY accommodating and incorporated as many things as possible during the trip on request. Moreover, the car/vehicle we travelled in was smooth and heating system worked great. I highly recommend this tour and plan take book tours from/with Goga when i visit again. (He also helped us plan a customized tour the next day based on our request). 100% satisfied.
P.S. for Gadauri and Kazbegi buy gloves and snow boots before hand. Ask the guide for help.

we booked this Tour from Tbilisi to Mtskheta, Ananuri, Gudauri e Kazbegi, in selling description was complete of driving and professional guide in English.
We started to visit the Svetitskhovely Cathedral and we were waiting for an explanation or some informations from the "guide" but he said nothing and only
gave us his mobile with Wikipedia webpage dedicated to the Cathedral.
After this also in the other Churches he made the same offer.
We, of course, read by ourselves the informations about monuments but wasn’t the service we asked.
From a driving point of vew this guy was a very good driver, he was also a nice person but it was a pity that didn't tell us any information about the interesting places.
He was only a driver not a touristic guide! We had to check for all the time Wikipedia on internet....And for the amount (EUR €163,64 for two persons) we expect a different treatment.
We wanted only a normal general guide but he didn't say NO ONE WORD, nor historical, nor religious, nor about nothing.
We told everything to the chief Mr Goga Gogadze asking back part of money for missing guide but he avoided his responsibilities.
Be sure to have an official touristic guide!!

Kazbegi (aka Stepatsminda) is spectacular if you like mountains and the last part of the drive there is worth the journey itself. The church perched on top of the ridge is a spectacular location, although outside of the good weather months you need to hire a four wheel drive to get up there as the road is very hairy (we paid GEL50 for the two of us).
The old church/cathedral in Mtskheta was probably the most spectacular church we saw whilst in Georgia and a definite visit (note this close to Tbilisi so if you don't fancy the whole day trip this is very easy and quick to visit as a standalone visit).
Gudauri (a ski resort, currently with a lot of building work going on) is missable except as a coffee/comfort stop. Ananuri (a castle with a church) is also interesting.
Two final thoughts. Whilst well worth the trip note this is a very long day. Also the weather was spectacular when we did it and i can imagine it might be very disappointing if the visibility is poor - so it might be worth booking this very close in when you have some view of the weather forecast.

It was our first time to Georgia and we were going out for our 1st day trip. We booked our trip online and David arranged everything very well.
Vakho (our guide) was right on time. He contacted us on watsapp before coming and was polite enough to wait for 10 mins while we had our breakfast. He made us very comfortable with the first greet and we started the trip.
He took us to all places mentioned in the itinerary along with some UNESCO World Heritage sites along the way which was an add on. (Pictures attached)
Vakho bought us water, coffee and crackers which we enjoyed through our trip. We were glad to cover everything on time.
Depending upon weather, you might have to Rent Jeep to go to Gergeti Trinity Church. We paid 40 Gel for it and it was worth it. (Guy asked for 50 but our guide got us discount on it and also near Russian Georgian Friendship Monument where we bought chestnut Honey).
Extra cost for renting Jeep was informed at the time of Booking this trip which I am glad of. There was no hidden cost.
While returning, Vakho took us to a very nice Georgian Restaurant where we had Georgian food and he was kind enough to take us to Railway Station as we had to buy train tickets for Batumi.
Kudos to the wonderful team.
Tips - Make sure to have boots and High neck sweaters with Jacket. Wide Angle Lens to make sure you capture beautiful landscape. Don’t waste too much time in one spot.

Hi,
We are traveling with 2 young kids (1.5 years and 3.5 years). We are planning to split the Kazbegi route into 2 trips
1. Jvari, Upilistche cave, Jinali water Reservoir & Ananuri
2. Kazbegi & Gadauri
My questions are
1. Is this a sensible plan ?
2. What would it cost ?
Appreciate quick responses
Thanks,
Mihir

I think it’s better to do the trip in 1 go. It’s not that much of a distance and very few things to do in these spots.

the price is written 38.76 euros but when i reserve it jumps to 98 euros , why so ?

We are a family of 5 (3 adults, 2 kids). The kids are 8years and 3 years. Are the kids the same rate as adults? Or do we pay only for 3 adults? We are arriving in May. Is it still cold in Gudauri? Should we bring winter clothes? Thank you!
