- sarabegonha0 contributionsGreat walking tourOn the walking tour it was just me and my boyfriend and thankfully it was so. Our guide knew a lot about the history of Myanmar and the various colonial buildings in the city center. It took us to visit local markets and some corners of Yangon. He answered all of our questions with immense enthusiasm. We have never seen anyone speak of their country with such appreciation. The tour was supposed to be from 2 am to 2:30 am and we ended up staying almost 4 am. We ended up going for tea with Tin Mar Wai chatting. Tin Mar Wai also gave us tips on various things to do and places to visit in Yangon. I highly recommend the tour with Tin Mar Wai.Written February 25, 2020
- 410stevw0 contributionsGreat Tour through Yangon's historical sitesWe had a wonderful tour through the old historical places in Yangon and lots of fun with our awesome tour guide Wai (i hope i write it in the right way ;) ). She was very helpful and pleasant and showed us lots of interesting places in the city with all the historical background. I would recommand it to everyone before you start your sightseeing trip on your own, because you understand the places way better with all the informations before. The tour was nearly 3 hours and we had a great conversation in a tea house where we can taste the real traditional tea. Wai was the best tour guide during our trip in Myanmar and we hope to see her again.Written February 15, 2020
- Albert11920 contributionsFabulous Private Shore Excursion from Cruise journey! We came into the Yangon seaport for 2 ½ days, and contacted to local tour operator Wonderful Myanmar for a private tour at the last minutes. Within an hour, Mr. Htun, holiday architect, came back with specific questions to fit the itinerary with our requirements! After back and forth with him, we got our customized detailed itinerary. I especially like his careful attention in arranging the itinerary as we've a 75 year old Grandmother with us. Payment was quite easy and we just paid them on arrival. What a care-free! In the morning, we were warmly welcomed by the very nice young man who spoke perfect English. On the fairly long drive from the port to Yangon, our guide Tom gave us a very detailed history of Myanmar and the city of Yangon, and what we were likely to see and experience on our days with him. When we arrived in Yangon we were struck by the Colonial architecture, colorful markets as well as the many Temples in two days. We learned so much about cultures, histories, local life right through interesting commentary of Tom. One of my highlight was a beautiful and immense Shweedagon Pagoda Complex - so stunning and wonderful to see. One has to remove shoes in this and all other Buddhist Holy Sites, and it being a very hot day my grandmother especially was not coping very well with the heat. At the top of the stairs Tom very kindly obtained a wheel chair for her and wheeled her round this beautiful and special world wander place. I highly recommend 100% to Wonderful Myanmar to anyone and good value for money with personalized services. I cannot emphasize enough how perfect everything was organized, how friendly, knowledgeable and professional they all were. Thank you so much. Ps. We spent one night in downtown and it’s better to recharge ourselves especially for grandmother.Written February 6, 2020
- 380heathern0 contributionsGreat walking tour filled with interesting informationI only had a day and a half in Yangon, but I wanted to experience as much as possible and really get a feel for the place. Doing the walking tour with Tom (the guide), I got to understand how much Yangon had changed in such a short space of time. I loved hearing about the history and culture. It was interesting and a nice touch, to go to a local tea shop, which is a big part of the culture of Yangon. The traditions of the tea shop have even changed a lot too! I’m interested in Architecture, so to see all the colonial buildings and to go inside some of them, was a real treat for me. Tom told me about any historical facts related to the buildings, which only enhanced the experience. I really enjoyed the tour and I would definitely recommend it!Written February 1, 2020
- thechristianking0 contributionsInteresting walkWe had a great time on the free saturday walking tour with our friendly tour guide Chung. He showed us around a local market, went for a complimentary tea, really cool abandoned building and gave some interesting info about historical Myanmar. The tour is free, but it is worth giving them a tip afterwards. We had a very nice tour!Written December 27, 2019

- GRL88880 contributionsMagical MemoriesJoining the Wonderful Myanmar Magical Shwedagon Tour was a memorable experience. Although I had already toured the Shwedagon Pagoda once before I found this tour to be be a fuller experience and a wonderful way to learn about the culture and beliefs of Myanmar. Before entering the impressive Shwedagon Pagoda, there was a highly manageable walking tour which included meeting for a tasty breakfast and meandering through interesting streets and places of historical, religious and cultural importance. Sandra Snow was our guide and she was professional, caring, adaptable and keen to share information to help us build our understanding. It should also be noted that her English language skills are excellent; it amazed me how engaged she was in conversations and her ability to tell stories to from Buddhist beliefs. If you're looking for a half day tour you won't forget I would highly recommend this one! You might walk away with a better understanding of monks, temples, buddhas, and life in Myanmar. Not to mention the fun of meeting an astrologist along the way to hear about your future.Written December 9, 2019
- KatCupova0 contributionsThe perfect tour of Yangon with TomI would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone, as Ye Htun Kyaw (Tom) is very flexible on the go to adjust the tour to individual interests! We only had one day in Yangon with my friend and this was the perfect way to see and learn about all the main sights as well as the local and less touristy aspects of Yangon. The tour was really two-in-one. My friend and I booked a half day tour with Tom during which he took us around colonial buildings in Yangon and some of the main sights in the city including: Kandawgyi Lake, Chuakhtetgyi reclining buddha, and Shwedagon Pagoda. My favorite parts of the tour were the more local aspects of it such as when Tom took us to a local tea cafe where we tried Burmese tea and snacks, and also when we stopped by a card reader near the Shwedagon Pagoda which was not planned in the tour but Tom took me there because of my curiosity about the subject in an earlier conversation that day. He even translated for us. Thank you for a perfect tour, Tom!Written December 9, 2019
- elisabG6750NY0 contributionsUnforgettable Half Day Tour of YangonWe had the pleasure to have a half a day tour with Tom (Ye Htun Kyaw), our incredibly prepared and kind guide. He walked us around the main colonialist buildings and explained the history and facts about Myanmar. After that, we had a cozy stop at a traditional tea house where we tasted local tea and food (super delicious) and then we moved to Kandawgyi Lake and the reclining Buddha. There, he told us about Buddhism and he answered all of our questions. Finally, the beautiful Shwedagon Pagoda for sunset. Tom accompanied us to a card reader there and he translated for us, and then he explained more about Burma traditions and customs at the temple. Thank you again Tom! And see you soon!Written December 8, 2019
- Banananalux0 contributionsExcellent Expert Guide Ms Sandra! We booked on to the morning tour, and were kindly contacted via whatsapp in the morning to ask if we wanted to swap to the afternoon tour due to the heavy rain, so we did without a hassle! We met our fantastic guide Ms Sandra and were told, it was only us two, so kind not to cancel, when there are only two people! Ms Sandra was very knowledgable, gave us many details and answered all of our many questions! Even though it was only two of us, it felt like Ms Sandra went above and beyond to show us everything! Thank you for a great tour! Arnaud & Daniela from BelgiumWritten November 7, 2019
- Felix Z0 contributionsNice start into Myanmar!Tom was a great guide and we really enjoyed the two hour tour with him. For five stars it would help if he stops at some quieter spots and adds more recent information for the younger audience for example about life and culture in Yangon. Keep up the good work! :) We found the free walking tour via guru walks and pre-booked it there.Written October 5, 2019
- annabS8978CN0 contributionsFree walking tour old colonialWe were very fortunate to be the only two people on this tour. Tom was extremely informative and answered all our questions!Written September 17, 2019
