          the finer points
If we had been alone, there's no way we could have experienced the people or monasteries as deeply. The level of consideration with which the finer points were handled to ensure a flawless experience amazed me. Thander, our guide, was the best guide you could ask for.

          Fantastic photography tour!!
I traveled through SE Asia for 3 1/2 months, and my full day photo tour with Three-Treasures, and its fantastic guide, Thandar Oo, was my favorite activity of my trip! We toured a couple of temples, but at my request focused on local people. Thandar took me to some local villages that Three-Treasures supported, and I was able to photography and meet locals. This was just a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bagan!!

          Worth every cent - superb
Thank you Thandar (our guide), Ian (founder) and Three Treasures Tours for your exceptional commitment to the people and communities of Bagan. I could list the many wonderful things we did on this 12-hour tour - from the sunrise over the templed landscape, the delicious South Asian samosas and Chinese-style doughnuts for breakfast, the sand-painting (I had no idea what it was either, but all will be explained, and it is both relaxing and fun - and in a temple, no less), a visit to a local farm, a ride in an ox-cart (arranged last minute at our child's request), wandering the sandstone caves of a local monastery, the sunset boat ride down the Irrawaddy river - but in fact the most wonderful aspect of this tour was our guide Thandar and the company she works for. Thandar was flexible and arranged our day so that it unfolded seamlessly. She knew exactly when to share information and when to let our little family explore things for ourselves. Thandar trained in Law and has a million other qualifications to her name, including speaking Japanese (and English), being a social justice advocate, and taking beautiful photographs. Three Treasures Tours was established only a few years ago as a way of strengthening existing engagement with locals, especially in education and agriculture, reflecting Ian's background in permaculture. The depth of these relationships was apparent everywhere we went. Our post-sunrise breakfast, for example, was prepared by a family living adjacent to a quiet and lovely temple we had visited, whose income is supplemented by Three Treasures Tours. You could spend your money on a purely commercial enterprise when you visit Bagan/Myanmar, or you could give something back by choosing to spend you money with organisations like Three Treasures Tour. I definitely recommend the latter - you won't regret it.

Six stars! Local, authentic and enriching...sustainable too
This was an incredible, authentic, enriching, wonderful experience. We started the day at 5:45am, when we were collected at our hotel by our guide. She took us to an incredible viewing location to watch the sunrise over the plains, and the balloons rising out over the mist and pagodas. We were then taken to a secluded pagoda, where we were able to walk around the catacombs, and observe a morning prayer. Breakfast was an incredible feast of local delicacies. We then visited a local village, it’s school, and enjoyed an ox and cart ride around the village. We observed local farming techniques, and a range of commercial activities (sewing, sesame seed sieving etc.). It was a humbling experience observing the daily lives of the local villagers. We were then taken to a local lunch venue, which served an incredible range of local dishes. After lunch we did some sand painting, and then visited another secluded monastery and pagodas, climbed the nearby hill and ascended the hilltop pagoda to take in breathtaking river, mountain, valley views — it was an incredible panorama. We finished the day with a boat ride downstream and saw an incredible double sunset through the clouds and then over the mountain range. We returned home at 6:30pm. They were able to pack so much in to the day, it was truly incredible. I honestly would give this tour six stars if I could. The guide was knowledgeable, helpful and engaged in sharing her understanding of the area. We avoided the crowds, while still being able to see most of the significant monuments. Our guide’s knowledge of the UNESCO process was incredible, and we shared a conversation about the challenges the sites face. We had our daughter (9yo) with us and grandma (70yo) and we everyone got something out of the day. Couldn’t recommend this tour and this company more highly. It’s also clear how this company works with local people. We were able to visit local people, who happily and comfortably welcomed us in to their homes, showed us their daily activities. It was evident the support that this tour company provides to local communities.

          Awesome tailored made daytour
As my girlfriend birthday was on the 31st of may, I wanted this day to be really special for her. I contacted Three treasures Myanmar through email with my wishlist for the day. Not only they responded really fast but also perfectly understood what I was looking for. The tour with our incredible guide Thandar hit the spot. From the sunrise on Bagan temples, to the sandpainting workshop, to the handycraft village as well as the sunset cruise and the birthday cake. She brings you to places off the beaten tracks and is very knowledgable about the place and people living there. Moreover, part of the money you paid is going toward helping out community and that brings the feel good factor. If you are looking for tailored made, high quality and a unic experience, this is the go to company.

Best private tour guide in Bagan
We spent a day and a half with Thandar from Three Treasures tourism. She is an amazing guide making our trip to Bagan very special. Thandar has great local knowledge and was able to take us to some of the lesser known temples and monasteries around Bagan. We were successfully able to dodge the crowds even at sunset and sunrise. We visited Bagan at the hottest time of year so traveling in an air conditioned van really helped ease the pain of the hot dusty days making the tour much more enjoyable than it would have been by e-bike or Tuk-Tuk. Three Treasures tourism are working really hard with the local communities to ensure tourism money goes to the right people. We felt very comfortable that the people we met were being fairly treated for their interactions with tourists. We would highly recommend a private tour with Three Treasures. Thank you Thandar and Ian for helping us to capture such special memories of Myanmar.

Faces of Bagan full day photography tour
I arranged a Faces of Bagan tour for 2 people whilst in Bagan. Communication was great and very prompt and a tour was fully organised in less than 24 hours. Thandar met us at the hotel lobby at 05:30 for sunrise in one of the only spots now available, allowing for great shots of the hot air balloons rising over the archaeological zone. A breakfast was organised (choice of going back for the hotel breakfast is there but eating in the field is much better - and the food/drinks excellent) and we did meet Ian over coffee to talk further about shooting goals for the day which was great. Thandar then took us off the beaten path to small monasteries, villages, local markets and farms, allowing us to witness and photograph the daily life thanks to her local knowledge and relationships. Interaction with novice monks, a boat trip back to Bagan during sunset and finally a candle lit temple capped an excellent day. Thandar was very knowledgeable, professional and easy-going as well as having a keen eye for photography. Thank you for a great job!

          Amazing tour, fantastic experiences!
Everything about our tour was fantastic. The itinerary included an impressive variety of sights and experiences from sunrise to sunset, and many aspects were customized to our preferences. There is no way that we would have had such an immersive experience among the villagers or monasteries if we were on our own. I was impressed with how thoughtfully the details were taken care of so that the whole experience was seamless. Our guide, Thander, was as good a guide as you can ever hope for. She knows so many local artisans and monks that I felt welcome to enter their homes and workshops with my camera. This company has great customer service. I got ill during my travels and almost had to miss the tour, but when I contacted the company, they offered to reschedule to a later day when I was better. I'm so glad we were able to work things out, because this tour added so much value to my time in Bagan.

          Excellent and amazing tours
With 3 other friends we booked 3 days of tours with this amazing company. We were all very impressed by the way the trips were tailored to our wishes and the variety of aspects of life around Bagan we were shown. We went to local villages and temples that are not on the map. We learned a lot and had a wonderful time. Our tourguide Thandar Oo never pushed us into anything and was very imformative. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Three Treasures.

One of the most unforgettable experiences in Myanmar!
I was so lucky to be able to get a booking with Three Treasures on my last day in Bagan! From the beginning to the end of the tour, my heart was filled with so much happiness and awe from what I experienced on this tour. Starting with watching sunsets from a secluded location in Bagan, to meditating in a quiet temple, interacting and laughing with the local villagers, visiting a monastery, and finishing the day with a stroll through a local festival. I truly felt immersed in Myanmar's culture and fell in love with the people. Thank you Thandar for showing me so many beautiful spots off the beaten track! She is the best tour guide you could ever ask for. Knowledgable, thoughtful and kind-hearted. She is actively involved with helping the local community and it was wonderful to see the funds from the tour being used for great deeds like maintaining local farms and paying for medicine for elderly people. I highly recommend booking a tour with Thandar and Three Treasures!

          Highly recommended
We met Thandar by chance during a plastic collect campaign in Bagan and we ended up spending the all day with her. This wasn't a "Three Treasures" tour as we didn't book anything but she showed us so many places around Bagan off the beaten track, small villages, her organic garden, and we also maditate with local people we met in a monastery as we were passing by. We spent the all day speaking about Myanmar culture, Buddhism and Environment. She is a very interesting, enthusiastic and passionate person. It was so nice to meet her and we would definitely booked a day tour with her if we had one more day in Bagan... Next time !

Hands down the best tour of Bagan!
Thandar and Ian are the best tour planners. So much so that I made it back a second time. While the tours seemed expensive at first glance, it was so worth it. Plenty of opportunities for them to make money off you but they didn't. Sometimes that's a put off when tour companies try to peddle things to you but not in this case. Lookup Thandar and her off the beaten path Instagram spots. Highly recommended

          Best tour ever
This tour exceeded all of our expectations! We did the sunrise meditation tour and had an amazing time meditating with a monk in a local monastery. We even had a half an hour to ask the monk some questions and Ian was amazing at following up as well. Our tour guide was so sweet and she had amazing recommendations for us for following the tour (Sharky’s restaurant was perfect!) strongly recommend! Thanks again!

          Immoral Company
This company has no part in the local community, and in fact is very rude to local people. They do not deserve to stay in business with this kind of behavior. Help support local businesses instead.

          Wonderful time in Bagan
I had a wonderful time during my 3 day tour in Bagan with Thandar from Three Treasures. I chose a private photo tour as I am a keen photographer. Early start at sunrise to spots that mainly avoided the crowds, time to set up and shoot at leisure. Thandar knows all the best places, including hidden Pagodas where indoor low lighting shooting is ideal. Usually rested from 1 to 3 pm to avoid the heat, then headed out to Golden Hour shots followed by sunset. Thandar also very willing to model wearing traditional outfits for the photo shoots. Highlights for me was the sunset boat cruise, even though we got no sunset the lighting was surreal, also very much enjoyed the morning spent at a small monastery and cliff top Pagoda with local people and monks. I would strongly recommend Three Treasures, great job from communications and planning with Ian to the actual relaxed and private guided tour. It was more like an old friend showing you around their home town rather than a commercial tour, and I mean that in the best possible sense. And some of your money goes to local causes 3T support.
