About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Y9830TUstephenk0 contributionsa journey that will leave you refreshedMy trip to Guatavita Lake and the Upside Down House was a delightful escape from the ordinary. The serene beauty of Guatavita Lake provided a tranquil setting to unwind and connect with nature. The whimsical experience of visiting the Upside Down House added a touch of playfulness and created lasting memories. The friendly staff and the charm of the patience lanes added to the overall enjoyment of the trip. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with a dash of whimsy, I highly recommend visiting Guatavita Lake and exploring the Upside Down House. It's a journey that will leave you refreshed, inspired, and with a smile on your face.Written March 23, 2024
- Champoux10 contributionsToo much driving for the experience.I would not recommend this tour while the highways are under major construction. This half day tour took 7 1/2 hours. We were picked up at our hotel on time at 8:25 but did not arrive at the hacienda until 11:15. The tour was over by 13:15 but we did not get back to the hotel until 15:50 so 5 1/2 hours of driving for a 2 hour tour. The driver Carlos did his best but was following trucks and buses belching exhaust - he spoke only Spanish. The tour was interesting. Juan our guide was knowledgeable and spoke English well but this is not a coffee plantation - it is an event space with coffee plants and gardens - they even have a chapel and guest suites. Not what we expected.Written March 22, 2024
- 600marwinh0 contributionsPreserved and beautiful townI must say it is one of the most preserved and beautiful towns I've ever seen. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its charm and authenticity. The cobbled streets of Villa de Leyva add to its old-world charm and give it a unique character. Walking through the town feels like stepping back in time, with its well-preserved colonial architecture and historic buildings. It's a photographer's dream, with picturesque scenes at every turn. What impressed me the most during my visit was the exceptional service I received, the level of hospitality of the staff was outstanding. The company takes pride in their country and goes above and beyond to ensure visitors have a memorable experience.Written February 8, 2024
- evyk980 contributionsUnique and memorable travel experienceThe highlight of the tour was definitely the adrenaline rush I got from the rappel experience. It was thrilling and gave me an incredible sense of self-accomplishment. Villa de Leyva itself is a beautiful town with a slow and relaxed pace of life. The two days I spent there were a delight, as I got to explore the charming streets, visit historical sites, and enjoy the local cuisine. Overall, the tour to Villa de Leyva was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable travel experience.Written December 26, 2023

The desert landscapes can be breathtaking, with vast stretches of sand, large gullies form clay soil, and clear skies perfect for stargazing. You're sure to be amazed by the beauty and tranquility of the desert as well form the very kind and welcoming locals. - Laura25P0 contributionsThe best day trip ever! This was an incredible day trip! Cesar and Rodrigo were fantastic. I highly recommend you request them for your tour. We asked for a 6am pick up and they were there on time. Our first stop was Villa de Leyva. We worked the itinerary backwards as there was a kite festival in Villa de Leyva so we wanted to get there early. It is such a beautiful town. We spent a total of an hour there, walking around the town. We stopped in el Museo del Chocolate for a yummy snack. We then headed over to Casa Terracota, a Gaudí inspired house made entirely out of clay. We then went to Pozos Azules which are 6 or 7 bluish green lakes. You walk the entire area at your pace. The great thing about being on a private tour is that you get to decide whether to stay or just head to the next attraction, which is what we did. We only saw 2 of the lakes before heading to our next stop. Note that you are not allowed to swim in the lakes. We then went to Monasterio Ecce Homo, a beautiful monastery in the countryside. By this point, we worked up an appetite. We headed over to another town, Sutamarchan, and had the most amazing lunch. Lastly, we ended up in Ráquira, famous for its colorful pottery. The entire trip was so much fun and we got to see so much of the countryside. Cesar and Rodrigo’s energy made the entire experience that much more enjoyable!Written August 29, 2023

- D3884JMmauriziop0 contributionsscenic train rideThis tour is a unique experience that combines the beauty of Bogota's landscape with the rich history of the region. The tour starts with a scenic train ride from Bogota, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral, a remarkable underground church built within the tunnels of a salt mine. This architectural marvel is a must-see. Please note that the train operates only on weekends and national holidays.Written August 20, 2023
- maiminhnN0 contributionsThrilling Adventure at Villa de LeyvaIt was an experience I would rate a solid 9 out of 10. The safety measures in place were top-notch, earning a perfect score of 10. It's clear that the team prioritizes the safety of their guests, which is always reassuring when embarking on an adventure trip. The service staff was thoughtful and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a great experience. Their professionalism and dedication added to the overall enjoyment of the trip. One of the highlights of the adventure was the rappelling. It was not only fun but also provided a thrilling adrenaline rush. Whether you're an adventure junkie or trying rappelling for the first time, this is an experience you won't want to missWritten August 14, 2023
- W9414GYalexs0 contributionsAvoid this companyCeasar the owner, was awful. Everything was ad-hoc improvised tour. Very little information. The tour was way overpriced. Id ask for moeby back if I could get in contact with ceasor. Oh and the tickets were sold out at the up-side down house. Like who does that? Nothing was done to remedy the situation. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!Written August 13, 2023
- nadiamP404RO0 contributionsAuthentic experienceTaking a train to Zipaquira was an experience in itself. The journey was filled with scenic beauty. The history of Colombia is rich and diverse, and getting to learn about it was truly enlightening. The Salt Cathedral. It's a marvel of architecture and a testament to human ingenuity, built within the depths of a salt mine. The trip was overall lovely, with every aspect of it adding to the charm. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in history, culture, and natural beauty.Written August 9, 2023

Diego was a great guide and we really enjoyed talking with him. Overalls expensive was great! Only feedbacks I have are 1. I wish the descriptions are more clear regarding the actual tour within the cathedral is an English audio tour. 2. Trip is pricer versus other similar trips, it may be due to the nature of smaller groups, however I still feel it's not price competitive at $100 per person.

My family and I were lucky enough to tour Zipaquira with David as our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable of the tour and made sure we had a great time. He even gave us some stories about his life that my family really enjoyed hearing about. We really felt like we were experiencing something special when David was with us!

Out of all the group listings for tours to Zipaquirá and the Salt Cathedral, we are very pleased we chose this one. Ana was an amazing guide, sharing her knowledge of the history and culture of Bogotá and Zipaquirá. We had plenty of time to explore the salt cathedral on our own and Ana and our driver Cesar promptly picked us up when we were finished. Highly recommend this quick trip out of the city!

I enjoyed my tour with Ana and Cesar. Cesar, the driver, came to the hotel on time. Unfortunately, Ana was stuck in traffic and told him to leave with out her. She caught up with us at the Cathedral. He took us to the Salt Cathedral with a stop for coffee tasting. I learned how to make a good cup of coffee. Then, we went to the Cathedral. It was very nice. In fact it was memorable.
Ana was waiting for us outside of the mine. She apologized for being late because of a traffic accident and we went to the town for lunch. I had a delicious fish served on plantain leaves, fries and salad.
I enjoyed spending time with her. She told us about Colombia, the people and the food. Ana is a first rate guide.

A visit to the Salt Cathedral is a must for any visitor to Bogotá. It’s staggering in its beauty, scale and serenity. I was escorted on this tour by Jhon, who spoke excellent English, was knowledgable, interesting and attentive to my needs. A fine ambassador for Colombia.

I recently had the opportunity to take a tour to the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral, my second tour with this company, and it was nothing short of amazing.
The tour was well-organized, starting from the pick-up at our hotel to the journey to Zipaquirá. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the Salt Cathedral itself. The atmosphere inside the cathedral was surreal and awe-inspiring. The intricate carvings, the play of light and shadow, and the sheer grandeur of the cathedral carved out of salt left us speechless. It's a testament to human ingenuity and a sight that I believe everyone should experience at least once.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. It's not just about visiting a place; it's about immersing yourself in a unique cultural experience. The Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral tour is a journey that will stay with you long after you've left the cathedral's cool, salt-laden air.

THIS TOUR IS A SCAM!!!!
I booked the VIP $190 Salt Cathedral tour. This was supposed to have a nice car pick me up with a private English speaking tour for the day. The tour was supposed to include salt cathedral tour and two stops in town with a tour of the town as well. None of this happened. Someone picked me up from the hotel in a beat up car. He was a very nice driver, but did not speak any English, and was not aware of any English guide that was even supposed to meet me anywhere. When we got to the cathedral, there was no guide to meet me. I waited sitting by the entrance for OVER AN HOUR while the driver disappeared and tried to find an English speaking person to give me a tour. He finally found an employee of the cathedral to walk me around. The employee was very nice, but this was not what i had paid for. After the tour around the cathedral, the employee went back to work at the cathedral and i did not have anyone to continue the tour around town. After looking for my driver for 30 minutes, we got back in his car, and went to a spot for lunch. Again, the driver was very nice and he did his best, but the operator and organizer of this tour completely lied about what i would receive, and is a complete scam. The “delicious gastronomy experience” i was supposed to have for lunch was disgusting and the meat was inedible. We then went back to my hotel without any city tour. I asked for a refund and tripadvisor said they could not help me. Not even a partial refund was offered. BEWARE of this company, and of tripadvisor because they DO NOT have your best interest in mind. This is a shame because one tour of many experiences and trips i have booked through tripsdvisor has cost them my business for life. I will never trust tripadvisor again. When you book something in a foreign country, you expect to feel safe and receive what you pay for. If not, you expect a reputable company like TripAdvisor to help you. I only had 2 days in Bogota and i bought this “6 hour trip” with the expectation of having one of the days be this wonderful, memorable and well planned experience that Trip Advisor helped advertise. Instead, the tour took almost 8 hours, without the city tour, and i did not have time to do anything in the afternoon. A complete waste of my time and my experience in Bogota, and i have no faith in these companies any more. The previous day, however, i booked a city tour with a company called Green Trails, and they were wonderful. To go from a wonderful company like Green Trails, to this horror show, was a really big let down. Horrible TripAdvisor, shame on you for advertising this tour scam company, and for not supporting a customers needs, especially a customer that has been with you for many years.
