- D6530FLlorenzor0 contributionsGreat experience, cannot miss out!Great experience! Highly recommended, it’s a very fun place where locals go to have a fun night. Highly recommend dinner over lunch. This the original Andres restaurant, it is located in Chia, so be mindful of traffic to get there from bogota downtown, particularly on weekends (1.5 hrs to get there, 40 mins to come back after midnight).Written November 26, 2022

- wildfirelu0 contributionsBad BusinessI booked and payed for my Salt Cathedral and Guatavita lake from Expedia, a couple of weeks prior to my flight, I like booking in advanced so I have a more better time management of my vacation. One day before the scheduled tour, when I was already in Bogota, the tour company contacted me and said, they'll have to cancel my reservation, due to only being me for the tour (it was a group tour) and that Expedia takes alot of money from then and it was bad business for them, I paid $120 dollars in expedia and it stated that entrance fee to both attractions was included, only lunch was excluded. I didn't want to cancel, since my time in Bogota was brief and I ended up agreeing to pay the next day to the driver in cash. They charged me $150 and I had to pay for all entrance fees, even though the tour guide was good and the places visited were really I felt the need to express that I felt taken advantage off by the company. Expedia made the refund of $120. But I ended up paying more for the tour. I highly recommend both Guatavita and the Salt Cathedral, but use another tour company/Written October 16, 2019
- Ray W0 contributionsAmazingI am confident that, over time, this will become on the the top attractions in all of Columbia. A moving and massive depiction of the Stations of the Cross ending with the cavernous Cathedral. All of these made in various a huge sections of a former salt mine. Moving music plays throughout as you contemplate Christ's final journey. I imagine coming here during Lent or Christmas season(s) would be an experience of a lifetime. Well worth the c. one hour journey from central Bogota.Written October 11, 2019
- Bill P0 contributionsWorth the effort but crowdedThe salt mine is a very popular attraction. Most folks travel there by the train which only runs on weekends. We bought our train tickets on line and saved a lot over the package tour price. The trip there gave us the opportunity to see a lot of country outside Bogota. The mine itself has been well developed into a cathedral but the crowds really got to me. One guy sat down at the foot of one of the stations of the cross and answered his email until I told him to move on, other people wanted to take photos. After the mine, the bus provided by the train dropped us off in a nice town where we had lunch then shopped. The return trip was not as much fun as the sun shone in the end of the train car making it rather warm. I would recommend this trip but be prepared for the crowds on weekends.Written October 4, 2019
