A great coffee experience and fun day
Jessica was a very friendly and knowledgeable English guide: we also learnt a lot about Bogotá and surrounds. Eliberto was a skillful and patient driver. A fantastic way to see the area around Fusugasugá and learn about the coffee process from Camillo and a guide in training. A fun day sharing the warmth of Colombians proud of their country and its products!

        Fabulous Bogota Day-Long Experience
Camilla was a great guide and each site was fabulous. We were especially impressed with her guiding us through the wonderful Botero Museum. She is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The trip included a cable car to the top of the impressive Monserrate mountain facility and the magnificent Salt Cathedral and other sites in Bogota. The driver and Camila were kind and so helpful.

Great town and amazing tour guides
Camila was such a great tour guide, we had so much fun with her, also got a bunch of interesting facts and insights about Villa de Leyva, the Cathedral and Colombia in general. We actually wanted to schedule another tour with her, because she was fantastic. Guillermo, the driver, was fun as well and provided guidance. They both made sure we had a great time and enjoyed every part of the tour as much as possible. Had to do some changes to the schedule, but all of it was worth it. Loved it! Cheers from Panama and Puerto Rico. ✨

Great day trip out of Bogota
Wonderful trip. The lagoon hike was a little slow, with a lot of explanation for a relatively short hike. However, the salt cathedral was worth the trip on its own. Very unique and cool experience.

        We really enjoyed the tour!
The tour was definitely worth it. Esteban and Guillermo picked us up on the car right in front of our hotel, and we had a private ride for the whole day. We visited Guatavita town, Laguna de Guatavita - the birthplace of El Dorado legend, and one of the top Colombian wonders - Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá. Colombian lunch was also included :) Esteban guided us and shared lots of information. The car was very comfortable, and we weren't tired even after such a busy day. Thank you, Esteban and Guillermo!

        Book this private tour!
We had a great time. The drive thru the country side is lovely, The Salt Cathedral was outstanding to visit and the walk at the Lagoon was easy and relaxing with all the beautiful nature around. We opted for the private tour and spent a bit more rather than sitting on the bus with many other people. Alejandra our guide and Emilio our driver where really engaging, obliging and kind people. We can highly recommend this tour if you are a relaxed traveller and leave high expectations at home.

Fantastic Tour of Stations of the Cross in a subteranean mine!
This was one of the greatest adventures in a subterranean mine I've ever had! I have worked in the mining industry, so I am familiar with some of the attributes of a subterranean mine. What's makes it special are the stations of the cross. Each of the stations is carved out of the subterranean mining walls and ceilings. The beauty is phenomenal! I really enjoyed the tour. The only negative thing I can say is that it is very commercial. As a Christian, If a person were able to take their time and go through the mine on a "spiritual walk" it would have been VERY moving. All in all, it was a great site to see, and I would definitely recommend a visit. The little town of Zipaquira is a quaint little town that dates back to the late 1500s and is evident in it’s architecture. We spent quite a bot of time exploring the city and enjoying it’s fine traditional Colombian Cuisine.

Cool destination, too much time in the van
First let me say, the Tatacoa Desert is really cool and worth visiting. We really enjoyed our tour of the red desert, grey desert, valley of the ghosts, and visit to the natural pool. However, I would strongly recommend traveling by plane to visit Tatacoa. The drive from Bogota was simply too long, especially in only two days. The tour description says "approximately five hours." This is a blatant falsehood. The drive took NINE hours. I understand it was a holiday weekend, and the traffic was denser than usual, and the guide can't control that. But to be off by four hours is to mislead customers about the true length of the journey. Neither the guide nor driver gave any warning that the trip would take longer than expected, and grew very defensive when we asked about the route. What's worse than a nine hour drive when you were expecting five? A nine hour drive crammed into a middle seat in a tiny van while holding your backpack on your lap. The van was really too small to comfortably hold that many people for more than a few hours. Really unfortunate, considering we spent the majority of the two days in the van. We had several miscommunications with our guide, mostly because she didn't seem to know what the agenda was and kept telling us contradictory things. We approached her about this on the second morning and asked for her to clearly lay out the schedule so we knew the plan. Yet despite this, we had another miscommunication that day when she tried to cut a key part of the visit (the valley of the ghosts) from the itinerary without telling us. It was re-added to the agenda after fierce protesting from us. She also did not translate what the local guide said into English. Most of us speak Spanish, so it was okay, but the tour was supposed to be in English and she did not even check that all of the group could understand. Altogether, we were pretty disappointed with this tour.

        A Great Experience!!
Such an amazing journey....my son-in-law and I had two incredible days with Lorena, our guide and Emilio, our driver. Trekking through the gray desert and enjoying the red one...staying over at the colorful Oasis hotel....eating local foods outside on the porch at the Sal Si Puede restaurant in Villavieja...it was "all good!" We will never forget our ferry crossing of the flood-swollen Magdalena River!! Even though cloudy skies curtailed the "dark sky" experience for us, we highly recommend this adventure!

        Salt Cathedral in Zipaquira
The Salt Cathedral was an incredible experience We went independently on public transport from Bogota ( 4 buses) and purchased our ticket on the day at the site. The audio guide was informative and easy to operate. We spent at 2 hours exploring the cathedral.Afterwards we spent time in the pretty traditional town of Zipaquira where there are lots of places to eat and drink.

Our trip to Nemocon and Zipaquirá was honestly one of the highlights of our week in Bogota. Esteban, our driver, was stalwart and dependable with a great sense of humor, and Ana Maria, our tour guide, was an utter delight - knowledgeable, kind, and a joy to spend the day with. And what a day!

The trip from our hotel in Bogota to Nemocon, the first stop, was over an hour, but Ana Maria made sure to fill us in on the history of the everyday neighborhoods around us and made sure we were comfortable on the way to our destination. Nemocon itself was fascinating - we first were walked through a museum focused on the natural and cultural history of the region, then taken down into the mines themselves, which might as well be another world! Next, after the drive to Zipaquirá, we stopped for lunch (which was both huge and delicious) and then made our way to the Cathedral of Salt. The cathedral really is an experience not to be missed - though they aren’t kidding about the need for comfortable shoes, as it’s humongous! Finally, we saw some of Zipaquirá itself, including the plaza that, as Ana Maria explained, was one of the most important locations in the story of Colombian independence.

All told, it was an amazing experience that I’d recommend to just about anyone!

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and heartfelt review! We’re thrilled to know that your tour to Nemocón and Zipaquirá was one of the highlights of your week in Bogotá. Esteban seems to have made the journey even more enjoyable with his reliable driving and great sense of humor, while Ana María shone as a guide with her knowledge, kindness, and ability to enrich every moment of the day. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the museum and the almost otherworldly experience of the Nemocón mines, followed by a delicious lunch and the breathtaking visit to the Salt Cathedral. You’re absolutely right about the importance of comfortable shoes, as its vastness is truly impressive! We’re also glad you appreciated the historical significance of Zipaquirá’s plaza and the insights Ana María shared about Colombia’s independence. We’re deeply grateful that you chose to explore these amazing destinations with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back for more unforgettable experiences in the future. Thank you!
