I wanted to explore the real city, outside of the more touristy trips and golfing my group had planned, so I booked this walking tour. Juan Fernando was a fantastic host! Extrenely knowledgeable about the city's history, and obviously passionate about local social and political issues – and he made it incredibly fun to walk around and learn! The graffiti is really something, as are the local art scenes and markets. Highly recommend taking this tour!!Written December 6, 2024

This was an outstanding overall experience. First, the communication during the planning was great as they requested feedback in regards to what interests I had, and who I was traveling with to customize the trip to our needs. Our guide Andres, was waiting for us at the airport with a sign. He promptly took us to our vehicle which was driven by a very professional driver also named Andres. Our guide was thoughtful, knowledgeable, entertaining, and overall excellent. Besides sightseeing, various landmarks, we had a guided tour through the gold museum, coffee tasting, tried local fruits and much more before being dropped at our hotel. Bogota is a beautiful historic and eclectic city with great character. I could see how this tour could be customized in many different ways. I highly recommend this tour to any person visiting Bogota who wants to learn more about this great city.

This was a great way to pass the time on our layover from Los Angeles to Lima. We had 8 hours in Bototá, and this 4 hour tour gave us a perfect little taste…just enough to make us want to come back! We got to taste some snacks at the Paloquemao farmers market, we rode to the top of the the Cerro de Monserrate, and walked around Bolivar square. Our tour guide, Laura, was awesome! She was friendly, took photos of us, and shared great history and info about the city with us. We would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to kill some time on a long layover!

The tour guide Tomas is very personal. It is not a standard boring tour because he was able to pick up on what the customer likes through conversations. He introduces many pre colonial history of Colombia and gives me a new perspective of the country.

My 16-year-old daughter and I took a Bogota airport layover tour to Monserrate and a walking tour around La Candelaria with tour guide, Daniel.
My daughter's review: The tour was great. The driver was prompt and the locations were beautiful. The tour guide, Daniel, was very knowledgeable and great to talk to. This tour is definitely recommended.
My review: Daniel connected well with my daughter; and she is not easy to impress. He's a teacher/professor and you can tell. Also, I liked that he was politically astute and gave real insight on Colombia's history, current state, as well as the differences between regions. He also knew the horticulture well. We enjoyed taking the cable car up Monserrate and the Funicular back down. He found a way to get us through the lines quickly.

First time in Colombia and the 4-hour tour left us wanting to come back. Our guide Estevão was wonderful, giving us all the knowledge we could absorb about Bogotá. We took beautiful records including videos and photos and finished with a traditional Colombian breakfast. Also, we didn't miss the chance to try some local delicacies sold on the streets. We left delighted!

I have nothing but praise for Hansa. My guide, an undergraduate geologist in real life, showed me around the Gold Museum, the Candelaria (the grid of streets that is the oldest part of Bogota), Bolivar Square (the seat of power of Church and State) and the Art Museum. He was well informed and extremely pleasant company. We had a great conversation, over the course of the four hours the tour lasted, about Colombia past and present. This included his explaining such nuggets as the recent rise of graffiti as a public art form in the city. Naturally, he spoke perfect English, which is just as well because I have no Spanish worth mentioning.
Ably assisted by a driver and minibus, he picked me up at my hotel promptly and delivered me back there. The minibus was also on hand, as required, during the tour, to take us between places inconveniently separated for walking.
Next time I am in Colombia (this was my first visit), I shall certainly take advantage of this firm's services, probably to visit the Salt Cathedral at Zipaquira - the existence of I had been unaware of until my guide told me about it.

I worked excellent. I had 8.5 hours layover in Bogota and it was so easy and comfortable to have someone waiting for me at the airport to take me to the city and then to drop me off. I got to see the old part of the city and the Botero Museum. My tour guide and driver were both very nice, helpful and welcoming.
I highly recommend this option if you have a long layover in Bogota.
I’m very grateful.

Having a 7-hour layover in Bogota on our way to Aruba we booked this private tour. What a great concept for tour companies to cater to travelers on extended layovers to share their country and culture. Service from the company and our guide was outstanding. We were delayed approximately an hour due to the long and slow lines in immigration but our guide and driver were completely understanding. At our request we spent our time at the Paloquemao market and Candelaria area. We were fortunate to be there early so our guide took us through the flower market to see the large variety of fresh flowers before going to the market area to sample a variety of local fruits, juices and local pastry called arepas. We also tasted several types of passion fruit of all shapes, sizes and textures. Then we sat to enjoy some Colombian coffee and more local pastries. All food and drink was included in the tour price particularly important since we did not have local currency to use. Our driver then drove us to the city and we walked to old original streets and observed amazing graffiti art and the historical sites. Finally a quick return back to the airport in time for our connecting flight. Great experience and excellent guide and company. Certainly better than waiting in an airport for hours. Advice is to plan for extra time to clear immigration and extra security both leaving the airport and returning after the tour.

Hy, I have a layover of 8 hours in Bogota, the problem is that I would really love to go out and visit Bogota, but my flight lands around 5am and my connecting flight is at 12. What's the earliest this layover tour can start?
Written April 7, 2019
We had a similar arrival time. Work with the tour company to confirm a pickup time. We had a private tour so it was no problem. You will have to clear immigration which took approx two hours as they only had two officers. Very long line and slow. Our tour guide was very understanding as she had to wait for us. Another suggest is to make sure you return back to the airport with plenty of time. It was also a long line and took approximately 40 minutes to clear security.
