About the operator
- LauraR919400Super enjoyable with a fun & knowledgeable hostLoved our tour with Daniella. Enjoyed a new experience in coffee tasting. I have only enjoyed dark coffee with some cream & sugar. This tour taught me that there is more to coffee than the sweet & creamy.
- vanessasB9936NU00Specialty coffee tourThis tour is so informative, it was such a fun way to spend my last morning in Santa Marta. I love coffee! My friends that did the tour with me aren’t such coffee enthusiasts but also enjoyed the tour. Melissa is very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee culture in Colombia. I look forward to trying her recommendations when I visit Bogotá. Our favorite coffee spot on the tour was Ikaro. There we tried the same type of coffee from the Sierra Nevada, but prepared a different way in a Chemex. Melissa did a great job explaining about the different preparation methods and also about the different coffee regions in the country. Go ahead and slurp, you’ll be glad you did!
- mikerwall9300Great way to spend the morning in CartagenaOne of the highlights of our trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided personal insight into Colombia’s coffee roots.
- jhailestorm00A truly enjoyable and enlightening experienceI learned so much about coffee and Colombian culture. Indira is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about coffee culture in general, but specifically Colombian coffee culture. She makes it impossible for you to not find appreciation for colombian coffee culture in your heart. I recommend everyone who comes to Santa Marta to take this amazing tour!
- carlor35000A elevated coffee buzzWe tried different specialty coffees at different cafes and roasters. We got to see how each of the baristas prepared the coffee in different ways, how those preparations affect the coffee flavor and how to rate and grade the coffee. It was an enlightening experience and my friends that aren't as much of coffee devotees as I am enjoyed the experience.
- Ashley K00Highlight of my trip! This tour is a must-do in Cartagena! Milena was our guide and she was fun, knowledgeable, and engaging. I learned so much about coffee and can't wait to continue to apply this knowledge back home. This tour is perfect if you love coffee or if you just want to learn more about how it's made, where it's made, and the business of it all. Highly recommend!
- Danijo12000Amazing!This tour was absolutely wonderful! We both learned so much about the coffee industry in Colombia and got to sample some delicious coffee. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who loves coffee!
- LuisGonPT00Wonderful day learning about Colombian coffee! What an incredible day spent learning about Colombian coffee while strolling in Santa Marta! Indira is a wonderful tour guide and she is also very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and she tottaly passes that on to you. I've like the diferent laminated prints and photos that she used as an aid to her explanations. Kudos to Karen (Flavors of Bogota) for coming up with this "workshops" for people who are in Colombia and whant to learn a bit more about coffee in the country. Don't hesitate in doing this if you are a coffee lover! Thank you for the lovely day!
- jmoore604200Really interesting tour!Milena was a wonderful tour guide. She is amazingly knowledgeable about all things coffee. During the tour, we went to three coffee places. At each place, we tasted coffee and Milena explained about the growing of coffee, the making of coffee and the business of coffee. A wonderful way to spend three hours!
- Oliverniccolajr00The Best experinceI would like to say that I am delighted with the Tour, especially because it was fun thanks to Daniela, I loved how we explain where coffee comes from, how to find the best coffee, an aroma, the aroma of coffee, everything very beautiful. They have the best guide. I learned that you can find the best coffee.
- winelover04500FantasticWe contacted Karen Attman by email to see if we could arrange a tour in Cartagena for the day our ship would be docked there. Karen not only organised their new tour - Welcome to Cartagena with guide Milena for us, she also sent an email with suggestions of things for us to do before and after our tour. Karen was quick to reply to our emails and we really appreciated her suggestions and assistance. The historic city of Cartagena is beautiful and we had a wonderful tour with Milena, visiting 2 coffee shops where we not only tasted Colombian coffee but were given an in-depth review by Milena. Despite a torrential downpour during the tour we still managed to visit the Gold Museum, tasted various local fruits and sweets, meeting interesting locals along the way. The tour ended in the Getsemani neighbourhood where we stayed to enjoy a drink before we made our way back to the historical city to wander on our own before getting a taxi back to the port. This was our first time in Colombia and we certainly would not seen, experienced or learnt as much as we did without going on this tour and having Karen’s suggestions and assistance. We would definitely recommend this company anyone travelling to Colombia.
- Cd212200Coffee Tour with MilenaHighly recommend this tour if you are in Cartagena. Our tour guide Milena was extremely knowledgeable. She was sweet, spoke perfect English (which is pretty hard to come by in Cartagena) and answered all of our questions. We tried 3 different types of coffee prepared in 3 different ways in 3 different coffee shops while learning about how coffee is made from beginning to end. We also learned how to properly drink coffee and identify its many complex flavor profiles.
- theosr2000An insight into the real Colombia.I am pretty much a coffee novice/amateur... so to have an in-depth morning with Indira, (who really knows her coffee!) taking us through all of the processes, idiosyncrasies and intricacies of the beans and then the drinking. I very much know I will always drink coffee differently from now on. And the places we visited were great. I know exactly what I’ll be taking home with me! Many thanks Flavors of Bogotá
- Nealtravels100Absolutely amazing expirience!Today I had a really fantastic exprience on the coffee and culture tour here in santa marta! The tour guide Indira was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the coffee culture and the part Colombia has to play in it. Not to mention tasting the different types of coffee and really learning how to appreciate it. I would heavily recommend this tour for everyone! Whether you're a coffee lover or not you will truly have a great expirience.
- PMDRiverVale00Specialty Coffee Shop and Walled City/Getsemani Tour in CartagenaThe tour was absolutely wonderful - Milena was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, personable - and the tour she "created" for us was perfect.... a combo of coffee tasting at two artisanal coffee shops, walking the Walled City and Getsemani and learning about the history and culture of Cartagena. Cannot recommend this experience more highly!!

Tour guide, Daniella (I think that’s her name), was very knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions. The experience was great, as we toured the coffee shops and learned the different coffee making techniques!
Worth the 3 hours, and be prepared to drink a ton of coffee!

We did the coffee tour on Saturday morning and it was absolutely incredible. Ale was a lovely, knowledgeable guide who had a lot of interesting information about coffee and Colombia, but she also made everyone in the group feel involved and comfortable sharing. We had a great time, and of course, the coffee was delicious!

This is the best thing I did in Bogotá! I was lucky to be the only person on the tour that day so I got a private tour with Alejandra. She is so knowledgable about Colombian coffee and I learned so much from her, from the farming of coffee in Colombia, its history and culture to the making and processing of coffee to the tasting of the actual coffee we got. we went to three coffee shops and each of them not only had their own roasts but also were aesthetically interesting to check out. at no point was I being pushed to buy anything. the walks were short and scenic. Alejandra is so open about any questions you might have, about coffee or else. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and would highly recommend this tour!

Daniella was an amazing host! She was super knowledgeable about speciality coffees and the pacing of the tasting was well thought out. I appreciated the scenery change between each different cafe that we went to. All the coffee was super high quality. We had a lot of fun tasting the coffees and Daniella was kind enough to help us purchase some coffee beans at 2 of the shops. She inquired about our taste preferences to help select which roast to buy.

A walking tour of three Chaperino neighborhood cafés -- tasting three regional coffees. We met our Flavors of Bogota guide, Ale, at the Libertario café where we tasted coffee from the Tolima region (Castillo/Coturra). Ale provided us with flavor charts and our own Tasting Sheet to help us decide and record the fragrance, aroma, body, brightness, sweetness, flavor, balance, and finish. We learned to smell then “slurp” the coffee to sense all the flavors. Our second stop was Café Cultor where we tasted coffee from the Ceasar region, and the third and final stop was the Colo café where we tasted coffee from the Cundinamarca region and watched a Barista demonstration using a Chemex. All three coffees were distinct and we learned how to judge each using our Tasting Sheets and studying the flavor charts. Ale, in excellent English, walked us through the process and helped us discover the flavors. Truly a fine flavor-awakening experience.

Fantastic tour. Our guides, Ale and Karen, were outstanding. Both were great English speakers with in-depth knowledge of Colombia and the specialty coffee world. When we booked this tour, we thought it would be a “coffee crawl” where we’d drink cappuccinos and eat croissants. It wasn’t. But, it was so much fun learning how specialty coffees intertwine with Colombian culture and economy. Learning how choose, prepare, and taste specialty coffees was fascinating. An excellent experience. Highly recommend.
