Excellent tour
Dec 2019
We met Melissa at the Liberato coffee roasters coffee shop where she started our journey into Columbia specialty coffee tour. She is very knowledgeable and an interesting and fun guide. We learned of different plantation areas, different ways to drink and appreciate coffee and how to taste and recognize sub-flavors in the coffee. We visited a few coffee shops, all within walking distance and each one of them was different. Different atmosphere, different coffee. It was fun, full of interesting stories all tied to Colombia. This group, flavors of Columbia , seem very passionate about the coffee world and Melissa represented that well. It was an excellent excellent tour . If you love coffee or just curious - do not miss it. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia.

Thanks for sharing your impression of the workshop. Finding flavors in coffee can be tough, so it's great to have an experienced guide to walk you through it. There are so many fascinating stories about coffee in Colombia - thanks for joining us. Happy slurping!

Can’t say enough about the 3 hours spent with Francisco visiting specialty coffee shops in Bogotá. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and just an overall nice guy. I learned so much about coffee. I can’t wait to return Ottawa and impress my friends.

Must-do when visiting Bogota!
Jan 2020
This was a fantastic tour, super interesting and informative! We loved our guide, Francisco, and enjoyed spending the morning with him. He was super knowledgeable with a great sense of humor, and the information presented was interesting and very well done. Even if you don't love chocolate and/or coffee, the tour also highlights interesting aspects of Colombian history and culture. Highly recommend!

Francisco does have a great sense of humor, and the 3-hour workshop flies by. And it's even better to learn from Colombians who see coffee and chocolate not just as delicious treats, but as a vital part of the history of their country. Thanks for learning with us.

Great experience
Nov 2019
We really enjoyed our coffee experience with Favors of Bogota. Daniela, our guide was knowledgeable and fun. At all three stops we did pour-over type in which we learned how to appreciate different flavors, aromas, brightness, and varieties of coffee.

Our tour started at Libertario Coffee, very nice small coffee shop in Rosales. The second stop was Cafe Cultor, a very cool place in Quinta Camacho, the outside patio was amazing. The last place Colo Cafe also in Quinta Camacho (I think the previous name was Bourbon Coffee Roasters). We enjoyed walking around the neighborhoods. It seemed like the people working at the different coffee shops were very engaged and enjoyed having us there. I got to help one of the baristas in the preparation of the coffee. He explained step-by-step how to do it, the time needed, and the exact quantity of coffee and water for a perfect pour-over. These young guys are among the best baristas and coffee roasters in the country.

A very nice thing about this tour was that Daniela shared not only the cultural and historic aspects of the coffee, but also the economic and societal connections that coffee has with the country. These small shops are very intentional about supporting small, local growers and producers, usually family-owned farms that work hard to produce high quality beans. Even if you feel you are paying a bit higher for the coffee, it is still a great price compared to other coffee shops and you know it supports many families in other regions of Colombia.

In our case, because we wanted to get the most out of such learning experience, it would have been nice to get copy of the taste/flavor wheel and maybe the map of the different regions (maybe our fault not asking for it). Finally, all three coffee shops were great, but for us this experience would have been perfect if we would have had one more tasting stop in this tour.

Hello Tere. Thank you for sharing your opinions about the workshop. We´re glad you had a good time with Daniela - she certainly is passionate about Colombian coffee. And we're glad you enjoyed not just tasting the coffees but also learning about culture and history in connection with coffee in Colombia. I'm happy to send you a copy of the flavor wheel to your email. And yes, we'd like to include another stop on the workshop, but it would make the workshop too long for many people. But we will consider adding another coffee at one of the shops we already visit! Thanks so much for your feedback.

We are so happy we got to try Flavors of Bogota coffee tour before coming back to states. Not only it was educational but had an amazing experience with a group of people we love. Our coffee guide, Melissa was very knowledgable and very passionate about coffee! Now, many of our friends in states will enjoy one of the best gifts we can give them from Colombia. We love you both Melissa and Karen!

Wonderful Experience!
Jul 2019 • Solo
I booked this tour last minute and enjoyed every moment of it! I learned so much about how coffee is harvested, made, brewed and sold! The tour was well organized and the guide was prepared to answer any question and provide us with additional resources to add to our knowledge. I will definitely do another Flavors of Bogota tour again when I go back to Bogota!

I loved the cards we were given to actually think about the coffees taste. This really helped me to understand what I want in a cup of coffee.
