About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- marthofer0 contributionsCartagena City SightseeingWe have been extremely happy with Trip Advisor recommendations and Things to Do tours in multiple cities/trips over the years. This tour was an exception. The description was inaccurate. There was very little walking (as advertised), little to no information about the places we visited, and no timeline given to the length of the tour in the description. Instead we spent the first hour driving from location to location in a bus to pick up other customers. Unfortunately our guide, Alvaredo (sp?), lacked information about the history, facts and culture of the city. He was unable to answer basic questions, snarky and in general unpleasant. By the end of the tour the only people who did not leave and go on their way were those who needed the bus ride back to their hotel.Written January 25, 2020
- K9844MZkeithm0 contributionsNice way to see the city in the comfort of a carWe were picked up at our hotel and the tour was just the two of us and the driver/guide. As the tour was just after New Years, all of the holiday decorations and lights we still up and on and really made the parks and houses wonderful to see at night. The driver gave us several choices for dinner as the originally planned restaurant was closed that night. We ended up at Colombian BBQ place. The ribs were excellent, but the beef was so-so.Written January 13, 2020
- RamFamMP0 contributionsPick another tour!Spent over an hour picking up passengers on a huge bus. Not a lot of walking. Customer service and communication was terrible.Written December 27, 2019
- Jagaimaja0 contributionsHorribleThe horses are mistreated and neglected on the daily basis. If you take a closer look you can easily see the wounds all over their body and their feet. They dont v any access to water or food. It is really sad thing to see in this beautiful city.Written November 6, 2019
- halohaven0 contributionsCali City Tour- private hireWe booked with Vive En Colombia, the agent Paola ensured that one of her colleagues that spoke English, explained everything to us. They booked us a bilingual tour guide called Johanna. Johanna arrived on time to pick us up in the morning at 10:00 we had a fantastic day seeing all the sights. Lunch and snacks were Provided. We say more sights than we expected and the day ended with a hours salsa class, which we totally loved. Our day ended at 20:00 and I have to say that it was more than worth it. I would totally recommend doing a private hire. I had a good feel of the culture and history of the city. We went too many places to mention. It is so worth itWritten October 8, 2019
- shawnab8170 contributionsGreat ValueEasy bus pickup at hotel. Great, inclusive tour of the old city, bocagrande and the fort. English and Spanish appreciated.Written August 14, 2019
- Wendy B0 contributionsGreat tour.We did the tour later in the afternoon. The bus was air-conditioned,plus it started cooling down a bit since we did the later tour. We had Richard as our tour guide, he was very nice and knowledgeable . We did the walled city, the Fort area, and we got to go in the Church in the walled city. It was beautiful. Its a great way to see quite a bit of Cartagena, and learn about the history also. The only area that may be a little problematic for someone with disabilities would be the fort area. It is steep waking and there are some stairs. You still can quite a bit if you stay at the lower levels. We are glad we picked this tour.Written July 17, 2019
- shashwat_bedi0 contributionsGreat beach, good for Snorkeling and Sun shine.Tayrona National Park is a beautiful beach with clean water and sunshine. You need to use a speedboat to get there, which is a small 5-7 minutes ride but can be bumpy, so sit tight :) Getting to the Park itself is a long journey from Santa Marta, and there are some other beaches as well which are quite beautiful as well, so chose your options accordingly.Written April 22, 2019
- delgado_freddie0 contributions¡Una hermosa experiencia!Estamos muy agradecidos por las anteciones que nos ofrecieron. El guia tomo el tiempo de explicarnos cada pregunta, nos hizo sentir muy bien. And yes they can give you the your in English, I appreciated more as my girlfriend doesn't speak Spanish. The restaurant was good and the service was very fast even when they had a full house.Written April 10, 2019
- Normand L0 contributionsCould have been betterGuides very knowledgeable but took on the same minibus passengers from Princess (leaving at 16:30) and Holland (leaving at 12:00) so those from the Princess ship were rushed back to accomodate the Holland and missed part of the tour.Written March 19, 2019
- Ron L0 contributionsVery fun tour! This was such a fun walking tour! Our guide, Ronaldo, was so pleasant, informed, witty--just an all-around great guy. I had already been in the city 8 days, so knew my way around...was just trying to fill in the blanks. I was disappointed we blew by the casa of Gabriel Marquez (I went on my own the following day), but in sort maybe the best tour I've been on.Written November 29, 2018
- DLR10310 contributionsNice Introduction to the CityWe were in port aboard a cruise ship and had limited time to explore a new destination. However, this tour allowed us to see the highlights that included a museum, cathedral, walk through the city, plantation, and resort. Tour guide was pleasant and enthusiastic. She shared both current and historic knowledge about the city as well as her country. Bus was clean and comfortable. Driver was always on time for pick ups. Only problem was with the guide's audio in crowded spaces. Otherwise, well worth the experience if you have a small window of time.Written November 24, 2018
- Alli I0 contributionsGood, basic tour of the cityWe enjoyed our tour of Cali and being able to see some of the major landmarks and historical places. We had a lovely guide who spoke English. She took us for a local treat, as well, which was appreciated.Written September 19, 2018
- Alexandra R0 contributionsBeautiful and long walkIf you like walking and scenic views, this is the tour for you. Its at least 2 1/2 hour walk each way, they give you the option to return walking, on horse or on a boat, the horse is super fun, if you like adventure try it; the views are beautiful and majestic. Take snacks and plenty of water, there are no eating sites until you reach the beach. There is a restaurant where you can order food and they are really fast at serving, you can do this by yourself not necessarily with the tour guide. The beach water is super cold! be ready!. I went in July and the heat was exhausting, so make sure to dress appropriately.Written August 31, 2018
- Giovanni G0 contributionsA tourist trap, definitely...The Chiva Bus is an old, noisy and rusty bus that is nice to see but awful to travel with. The tour itself is loudly commented (in Spanish, which I more or less understand) by a guy while a group is playing music in the back of the car. The bus starts from Bocagrande, follows the exterior of the old city walls, then ends up along the San Felipe caste where some song and dance is organized. Finally the bus stops by a disco and I do not know the rest of the trip, since I took a taxi and got back to the hotel. Little food (some empanadas went a round) and plenty of some coke-like drink laced with some low-quality whisky-flavored drink. The experience lasts about 2-3 hours and the main relief is when it is over.Written June 16, 2018
