- Jaclyn S00Amazing!Amazing tour! Great guides, beautiful scenery, incredible experience at a coffee and cacao farm with the kindest locals to show us around. Highly recommend!
- Sightsee10332600Fantastic Trek in Páramo EcosystemThis was an amazing hike through an ecosystem that is only in few parts of the world. It was well worth the hike up to see the phenomenal views of the páramo. Camilo was also a helpful and patient guide with a lot of knowledge about the ecosystem and nature of the place. I could not have made this hike on my own. Highly recommended. Some advice: Bring good hiking shoes, sunscreen, and lots of water. The weather can change at any moment, so also be prepared for the possibility of rain.
- Sightsee10332600A Unique Hands-On Experience to Experience Coffee FarmingThis tour was a lot of fun!! What made it stand it out from the other tours was the hands-on nature of the tour. Instead of simply watching other people perform various stages of the coffee production, you actually got to collect coffee beans, remove the shells, grind the beans, winnow them, and roast them. You got to experience what being on a coffee farm was like. Also, the tour guide was helpful and the farmers were friendly and hospitable. If you visit Bogotá, I would highly recommend this tour.
- Turtle66100sumapaz hikeIt is beautiful up there. The only sound is the wind and the birds. It is a hike for somebody with good fitness though.
- Turtle66100Communing with hummingbirdsThis is a nice trip. We saw 9 different hummingbirds. two violetear, black and green trainbearer. glowing and coppery bellied pufflegs, Sword billed hummingbird and Great sapphirewing. The great sapphirewing is a large hummer and you see the sapphire as its wings open. The smaller the bird the faster the wings. It is an easy trip. The road is a bit rough in the last few km and the traffic on the way out of bogota cannot be avoided. The guide was nice and told us alot about andes ecosystems etc. If you just sit quiet at the observatory the birds come.
- B4327SMheatherr00WonderfulI can't say enough about our driver Hector and guide Jose. Their knowledge, kindness and humor were wonderful.
- Tiffany M00Great birdwatching close to BogotaWe loved this tour - it was a great experience being up in the clouds and we saw a lot of cool birds! There was a place at the front to stop and grab breakfast and then after the hike we had lunch before driving back to Bogota.
- fmcbride9900Truly spectacular views!Being able to visit this waterfall was an amazing experience. It was such a beautiful thing to see, and the walk there, although a little tough at times, was very enjoyable. Our guide Juan was excellent and made sure we were well informed and enjoying ourselves.
- fmcbride9900A lot of driving but a thoroughly enjoyable experience.I must admit that there was a lot of driving involved for this trip, because the coffee and chocolate farms are outside of the city. The roads are also a bit rough in places as you are going over a mountatin. That said, I really enjoyed the trip and my guide Juan was excellent. He was very enthusiastic and well-informed, and made sure I was happy with my experience. Visiting the coffee and chocolate farms was so interesting! I loved learning about the process of growing and producing coffee beans and chocolate.
- Hobbyreiser00Very experienced and entertaining birding tourDespite a huge traffic jam on the way to Chicaque, time ran quickly as the tour guide was very knowlegeable and entertaining. During the birding walk we saw a lot of forest birds. Even though it was sunday and therefore busy in the park. At the restaurant there are hummigbird feeders were this little juwels are easy to see and to record. Normaly the ride from downtown to Chicaque should not take more then 1,5 hrs. On my date it was the beginning of vacation time which caused the traffic jam. I will book another tour with Andes Eco Tours once I am back to Bogotá
- kristindG1785ES00Great Opportunity to See Incredible Birds!I went to Columbia knowing it has nearly 20 percent of the world’s total bird population, but I had no great plan for bird watching. The trip to the Hummingbird Observatory was an excellent way to see many species of birds. Camilo and Hector were outstanding guides, and we saw 11 hummingbird species, and 26 total bird species. The observatory is very accessible, and most of the time is spent viewing birds, which are abundant at the site.
- kristindG1785ES00Don’t Miss the Páramo!I would highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting Bogotá. I wanted to visit some of Columbia’s non-urban environments, and I learned about the páramo early in my trip and wanted to see the endemic plants. We were not disappointed! Juan Camilo was an excellent guide, and he taught us about the flora, fauna, as well as the special cultural and spiritual relevance of the páramo. Gustavo was an excellent driver, and we enjoyed meeting our local host. We are so glad we took this tour as it was throughly engaging from beginning to end, and we developed a deeper appreciation of this unique and fascinating biome.
- mariaisabelvs00Easy and enjoyable!Accommodating logistics and wonderful guides. This is a tricky area for birding (tons of species and little visibility), so if you are an avid/pro-birder, I'd definitely recommend looking for a bird-specific company. But as a leisure birder myself, for a very reasonable price, I had a blast birding in the forest with Hector. He is friendly, patient, and has an immense love for birds. I'd go back to Andes EcoTours in a heartbeat!
- Jack D00Wonderful tour of ChingazaMy son and I had a wonderful day tour of Chingaza with Lluis and Hector. Lluis was extremely knowledgeable and personable, and the park is gorgeous. I highly recommend Andes Ecotours!
- 65nelev00Beautiful trip!It was my first time in a Latin-American forest and it was an incredibly beautiful experience. Hector picked us up at the hotels and was very kind. In the forest he really followed our tempo (I was very slow, as I was very interested by the moss… and there were many!). Yes, I can absolutely recommend it! :)

What an incredible way to view the reservoir that helps supply water to Bogota! A beautiful two hour ride through a small part of the Andes, no prior riding experience required (though if you have some they're happy to let you take a slightly more adventurous path!) with stops along the way to rest and take photos at scenic spots. If you request an English-speaking guide you'll be sure to have someone to talk with you about local sights and the people/plants who live in the area. We had a wonderful experience!

Was a very fun time. 6 of us jumped a horse each and enjoyed a few hours riding through the Andes. They gave us a little bit of information regarding the area and it’s history and then we cruised back down the mountain to enjoy a nice tea and arepa.

Amazing horseback ride with stunning yet peaceful views. The horses were healthy and calm. The guides are with you, one in from and one in back, which provides a lot of comfort.
My 13-year-old daughter guided her own horse. We loved every trot of the journey, as the views awaiting us were just icing on the cake.

Nice response using WhatsApp before we booked the tour. Easy pick up at our Airbnb, no issues!! Andres made sure everyone was comfortable with the horses during the ride. We all wanted to stop for some local food on our way back, our tour guide had a great spot picked out.

This trip was great! Loved riding through the mountains and learning about the culture and farming economy of the area. The views are beautiful and the horses were gentle. Our guides were excellent and gave us great information, but also answered all our questions! We had arepas and the hot Aguapanela drink made by the family of Andres. Highly recommend this wonderful experience!

I do not normally write reviews on Trip Advisor, but I had such a fantastic experience with my day hike to the Chingaza Natural National Park that was organized by Andes EcoTours that I wanted to make sure that others knew about them.
Five us from the USA went down to Bogota for a 5 day trip and we were eager to spend at least one day in the mountains outside of the city. We chose Andes EcoTours because they were the most responsive and helpful over email. Our trip to Chingaza was led by Andres.
We were extremely satisfied with our experience. Andres was super friendly and knowledgeable about the Park's history and ecology. I also appreciated his willingness to answer our numerous questions about Columbian history, politics, and culture. He made our trip.
In fact, we decided to sign-up for an additional half-day hike with Andes EcoTours during the last day of our trip to Bogota.
I've done a significant amount of international travel, and I believe that Andes EcoTours was the best tour company I have ever worked with.

My girlfriend has never riden a horse before. The staff made her feel comfortable, and she wanted to return. Great mountain views for photos. Horses are very calm. Will return when I visit Columbia. 5 Stars.

Loved every minute of this ride. Andes Ecotours were amazing and the best thing is they create their excursions with locals. The only tour company I would use for trekking around Bogota and the Andes!

My friend and I were in Bogota for a short weekend so we decided to do the horseback riding day tour to La Calera with Andres. We felt safe and comfortable at all times. Andres was awesome. Us and another visitor, who was equally cool, met Andres in Bogota and he drove us to La Calera where we stopped for delicious arepas and juice before we picked up our horses. After, we met our horse handler and our horses for the day. The horses were calm and easy to ride, a bit short - but good for the mountains as Andres informed me. The ride was amazing. Breathtaking views of the Andes. We rode for an hour and a half then stopped to enjoy the view and Andres surprised us with some extra arepas he'd picked up earlier - thanks again! We got back on our horses and went back down the mountain. Overall a great day. Thank you Andes Eco Tours!

I had a blast on the Andes Eco Tour to the Sopa valley. I had managed to save a bit of money on my week long visit to Bogota, and decided to treat myself to another tour. I was lucky enough to come across the Andes eco tour office (it's hard to miss - beautifully painted!) and was able to afford the trip to the Sopa Valley. I was the only tourist on my trip, just me, Andres, and a friend of his. It was an amazing day, and an amazing tour! Andres is very relaxed and easy-going - if you're looking for a structured tour, this may not be the best for you. He was very willing to adapt the trip depending on our abilities and interests, and was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna as well as the history of the country and city.
The trail we took wasn't for the faint of heart. It was definitely a scramble, and part way through I took my shoes off to get better purchase on the uneven ground (highly recommended). But it was completely worth the slightly nervewracking paths, as the view was incredible. I'm naturally an outdoorsy person, and love a good scramble, so it was a perfect tour for me. We were so tired by the end that we hitch-hiked down the mountain. Overall an amazing day, and I will be recommending the Andes Eco Tours to any and all friends travelling to Bogota!
