What a beautiful day it was! We first went to laguna Guatavida, which is really beautiful and then, we went to the salt catedral. Too much religious for me but the place itself is really beautiful!
And our guide, Fabio, was really knowledgable, really kind and answered all of our questions with a smile! And before going to the catedral, we went for lunch in a local restaurant of Zopaquira, one thing for sure, you won’t starve after the meal. Really good and lots of it!
The drive went smoothly with the driver, sorry, forgot his name 😳 I forgot my fleece in the back of his car and two days later, he came to our bnb to drop it off! That was truly appreciated!
Definitely recommend this company!!
PS: we had a private tour, which was really nice!

We went with Bogotravel tours because of some positive recommendations via trip advisor. We were picked up by Giovanni in a clean van and picked up our guide Camilla and another client.I went with my 2 adult children. All of us got on very well and Camilla was a great guide with local culture and history as was Giovanni driving showing us different areas in the outskirts of Bogota. The guided walk was fabulous with the parks specific guides, facinating to hear about the history of the muisca indigenous people and the history of Guatavita. The walk took us over an hour, stopping and looking at specific species of plants and taking photographs of the Andes and Lagoon it was so peaceful .And Im glad the guide took us up slowly as it was a bit light on as we heading up that trail but I had a quick recovery. Our driver collected us and took us for a great meal at a local restaurant with music and atmosphere. Then we headed for a few photos of a local town and then off to the Salt Cathedral. How memorable !and such a highlight.Photos dont do it justice .So many things to see and the guide for the cathedral was great. We were exhausted when we got home what a day!!.Highly recommended, back to nature , just what we needed after a few days of museums. Thanks Camilla and Giovanni and the staff at Bogotravel tours.

Me and my partner took a three stop tour: First to the town of Guatavita, then to Guatavita's historic lake, and then to the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. A lunch / dinner featuring authentic Colombian food was included with the tour. Our tour guide, Francisco, got us to each site with no hassle and good conversation (in English). He had tons of information about each location, and plenty more information about Colombia, Bogota, and general travel in the region. We loved him, and the whole tour experience was one of the highlights of our week long stay in Bogota. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone going to Colombia!

Recently I booked the Zipaquirá + Guatavita tour and it was an amazing experience with Fabio as our tour guide, he was charming and knowledgeable. Don Pedro our driver was punctual and respectful all the time, I'd recommend this company anyday and I'll sure book again with them if I come back to Bogota. Lunch was tasty as well.

Me and my boyfriend visited Bogota for work. We had just 2 days to explore the city of Bogota and we were worried of where to go and How. I got I recommendation from my Hotel of this tour operator So we decided to do a City Tour and at the morning and then a tour to the Salt cathedral of Zipaquira. We are glad we booked it! We were picked up by Fernando at our Hotel. Who took us to the historic center to start our tour. Fernando was an excellent local guide. He was full of knowledge about every aspect and details he explained us about the historical, political, economics of his country. We were lucky to have arranged with Bogotravel tours. The service and logistic was amazed for the Salt Cathedral Tour, They took us right outside of Bogota. Both tours lasted about eleven hours and we never felt bored or rushed through it. I highly recommend book your tours and services with Bogotravel tours if you have limited time in Bogota.

I took a private tour because no other options were available. My driver and guide were wonderful people but the experience was really average at best.
Salt Cathedral though impressive is a Disneyland of salt. I found the audio tour really lousy. It was basically tour of the church and and stories about Jesus and almost nothing about the history of salt in the region. The guide didn’t accompany me into the cathedral, but waited for me in the car. Not sure why I needed a guide for this at all. The guide had never done the audio tour so new nothing about what I was experiencing.
Lunch was below average. I don’t even think the guide and driver really liked it.

I went with Bogotravels for two tours.
The first was the Tours to Zipaquira and Guatavita lake. Unfortuantely after booking, they alerted me that Guatavita was closed by the government due to fire hazard from their recent drought. I was given the option to choose another spot and went with Guadalupe Hill.
Fransesco was the driver for my friend and I. Zipaquira, we got there early, but it was during holy week so there was some loud festivals and groups of tourists who were off for the week for vacation. Also, they were there for the church, but we got there before the crowds showed up.
Lunch was at local spot with traditional bbq. They kind of skimped on the meat, but it wasn't bad flavorwise. We only got 2 pieces of meat in addition to the soup and the sides.
Afterwards, we picked up another guide for Guadalupe Hill. We ran back into town to pick up the guide and ended up with another holy week bummer. The top 1/4th of the hill was closed to cars so we had to manually walk up that. Normally I'm a hiker, but this was my first full day in Bogota and was in no way acclimatized to the elevation. I was dying. When we finally got to the top, it was nice, but the tour guide got a little dark with a discussion on the underlying social unrest and murders during the drug era. This was informative, but probably could've been done without. It was a bit of a mood killer.
The second tour was the coffee plantation tour. This was just okay... maybe a 3.5. The drive there you get to pass some gorgeous scenery that makes up the countryside. The plantation is about 1.5-2 hrs away I think.
The structure of the tour at the plantation was kind of just a dude going through the steps on repeat and different tours would join in. He would just endlessly loop so you could join in whenever. Learning about the process was cool, but you spent a lot of time stand around awkwardly around while he would just stand there.
You do get a chance to pick some coffee from this little yard area. I'm not sure if it could be considered a plantation? Maybe there were more plants hidden in the back that you couldn't see. The property was gorgeous though.
Lunch was kind of crap. I understand it was good friday, but I would have assumed that the tour company would do a bit of research to try to figure a place to eat. We ended up circling and waiting while our guide went to find a place that had food. The spot we went to served a pre fixed fish thing w/ dessert for good friday. This was probably the worst food I had in colombia. The soup was a chicken or fish corn soup that was bland. The fish had some type of weird sauce that tasted like scrambled eggs, we called this egg fish. The dessert was some pure sugar multi colored jello that was just bad.
Afterwards, we drove back to Bogota.

We had a great time during our 4-5hour bicycle tour around Bogota. Our guide Fernando was great and very passionate about his city and told alot of intresting stories.
I def. recommend this tour to everyone visiting the city. They have small bikes as well so it would be a good family trip as well.
The traffic is sometime intense, but never felt unsafe in any way.
Another dat we booked a tour to the Salt Catherdral in Zipaquira and the holy lake Guatavita. Only 2 people on the tour and our driver (spanish speaking). He tried his best to explain and show us intresting places along the way in the car. Intresting church and beautiful lake!
