          A relaxing but inspiring day
We booked a private tour. In the morning, we enjoyed a little sail in a comfortable boat on the Titicaca lake. The captain is native and really owns the techniques of building traditional boats. Their arts and crafts are original and much better than those in the city. If you have spare time, consider bring some souvenirs for your family. In the afternoon, our guide (sorry I couldn't spell his name correctly) introduced the whole Tiwanacu like a scholar. We were so amazed by his astonishing notebook. He really understands every periods in the history and the circumstances between countries, and he also revealed how advanced in technology and life styles Tiwanacu has been. We couldn't remember all but he opens the door of South American cultures for us. The lunch was great. We were impressed by the delicious trouts. We also thank the driver for saving us from the heavy traffic on the way back to La Paz.

          Recommended if short on time!
We did the tour to Uyuni from La Paz. Which included a night bus, full day tour and then a night bus back to La Paz! This activity exceeded our expectations. Firstly the transport to & from the bus stations was great and relieved the usual stress of trying to find your way around a busy station. The Titicaca Bus company was pretty comfortable and you got a little snack & duvet on each route. Once you arrive in Uyuni you are picked up and taken to chill & get breakfast (included) at a lovely boutique hotel. At about 1015 the guide picks you up and takes you on the excursion. They provide wellies & a warm poncho (but mind that it can get hot in the sun). It is a long day but our experience was absolutely magical (see photos). You have lunch & an afternoon snack/wine all included which is very special as you are on the salt flats. You then get taken back to the same hotel to chill for an hour before again being transported to the bus station to catch your over night ride back. The guides and drivers from Jokers Expeditions & the hotel were all lovely & personal. Overall a great day and worth the cost!

One of the best experiences ever!!
When originally booking this trip, we were skeptical that one company could seamlessly take care of all the logistics needed to see the wonders of Uyuni. We could have not been more pleasantly surprised!!! Immediately following the booking Joker Expedition contacted us to get the passport information so they could book our round trip flights from La Paz to Uyuni and hotel. We received our complete itinerary shortly thereafter. The trip itself could not have been better organized; from picking us up from our hotel in La Paz and given our boarding passes to the flight, to meeting in Uyuni by our amazing driver, Samuel and Liliana, the best tour guide of our entire vacation. While we were so excited to see the flats themselves, we were blown away by all parts of the tour (the train graveyard, learning about salt refining, the ojos de Uyuni). Liliana explained all sites with expertise and helped us take pictures and videos with professional quality. Our experience was incredible from start to finish and found the company took very good care of us and thought of EVERYTHING. We cannot recommend this enough, it was worth every penny and delivered on a once in a lifetime experience. Special thanks to Samuel and Liliana, they made our trip so special and could not have asked for two better individuals to guide us around Uyuni!!!

          Salar tour good and bad
Such a beautiful area. Glad we did the tour. Enjoyed the shower after the long bus ride- that was a beautiful hotel. I am not sure we could have done this on our own, especially as well. Miguel Angel was a great guide- very knowledgable and clearly loves the area. Drawbacks: Both lunches were brought along and served at dining areas along the way. I do think the second lunch led to an illness my hubby and I suffered the day after the trip. I also wish we would have shopped around either in la paz or uyuni rather than use trip advisor. There are tons of tours available, not all stay in uyuni after the salt flats. Also Joker Expedition was not our guide. They just got us from la paz to uyuni then we were passed on to Salty Expeditions. All guides and employees were nice.

          Memorable Lagoon Expedition
I recently booked a 3N/2D private tour with Joker. Everything was taken care of from start to finish. Our English-speaking guide Oscar was very knowledgeable and was able to speak about everything from Bolivia's history to its flora and fauna. Joker was also able to secure me a room in the Tayka El Desierto (a must for anyone considering a trip into the national park). Finally, Jose was able to answer all questions that I had beforehand over email. Would highly recommend!

Uyuni is world marvel not to miss.
Uyuni is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. Epic landscapes, wonderful, wonderful people. You’re about two hours away from the final shootout of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. You’re two hours away from Potosi, the world‘s most important and oldest silver mine. The salt flats themselves are larger than Lebanon, dotted with islands of ancient coral and blooming cacti. It’s where Star Wars the last Jedi battle scene was filmed, there’s a British and American steam locomotive graveyard to play around in. It’s just supremely incredible and well worth the effort to see.

Canceled in the morning...we've been left doing nothing in Uyuni... Try to find another thing to do if you have already done the Salar, like lagoons maybe

          Uyuni salt flats private tour
We had an excellent trip exploring the salt flats of Uyuni with Joker tours. Our guide Oscar was very knowledgeable, and we had the right balance of time to ourselves vs being accompanied. Highlights for us including the photoshoots on the salt flats, which Oscar was brilliant at taking, picnic lunches on the flats (away from the crowds) and enjoying the sunset with a bottle of wine and snacks, set up by our driver Yver. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is thinking of going to Uyuni but doesn't want to do it as part of a large group.

Amazing scenery with impeccable customer service
Seemless from start to end. Joker Expeditions had it all covered, from hotel pickup in La Paz and drop off the next day. Everyone I dealt with were great. Oscar was my guide on the flats, and he was knowledgeable and super friendly. He shared lots of information about the train graveyard and the origins of the lake/Salt Flats like it was second nature. By the end of the day, I felt like I'd known him for ages. The food provided was fresh and delicious. And the views were spectacular. A sight not to be missed. In the eight or so hours I was on the trip, I took 200 photos and videos (some also by Oscar) - which is testament to the special nature of this trip! Thank you Oscar, Coco and the Joker Expedition team.

          Superb, highly recommend
Our trip really was a dream come true. I was nervous about booking from Australia but need not have worried, all my queries were answered promptly, everyone we interacted with were sensational and everything was organised to perfection. The service was top notch and our skilled guides knew where to take us to avoid the crowds. The beautiful lunch and sunset drinks were superb and allowed time to sit and soak up the experience (there was even flowers on the table!). Diego our driver who picked us up in La Paz did such a good job getting us to the airport on time as a car accident had closed the main road, he even walked us into the airport to ensure we got to the gate in time. Our guide Oscar was incredibly knowledgable, accomodating and easy company - not to mention a great photographer who captured some treasured memories for us. Christian our driver was very experienced and we always felt very safe. The hotel was beautiful and Janette was delightful and provided exceptional service. Even upon our return to La Paz we had a very lovely driver Jhonny to take us back to our accommodation. Would highly recommend.

          Amazing Tour of a Lifetime
We actually did this tour from San Pedro Atacama to Uyuni, and Joker Expeditions was willing to arrange pick up there and transport to the border where we met our team. This was an unbelievable trip! Our guide, Oscar, and our driver, Silvio, were kind, caring and attentive to our every need, sometimes before we even knew what they were! Oscar did everything from helping us navigate the visa process at the border (no easy thing) to pointing out and identifying wildlife, especially the diverse assemblage of birds, to supplying us with snacks and water, to making sure that all activities were safe, suitable and fun. Silvio mas a masterful navigator on tough roads, and sometimes no roads (in the case of the salt flats. I kept thinking of the line from Back to the Future - "where we're going there are no roads!") He also kept the vehicle spotlessly clean, no easy task in that environment. These guys were great in every way, and I can't laud them enough. I must also complement Jose and Joker Expeditions. He was very prompt in responding to my many, many emails and questions, which is a great comfort when you are going with a local tour operator. Everything was as advertised and he clearly made the effort o put us in the most comfortable accommodations available at each stop, with all meals included (and delicious). What we paid for our private tour for 2 in English gave us incredible value for the money, probably since it did not involve multiple levels of middlemen as I am guessing may other tours did. The pick up in Atacama allowed us to have the itinerary we planned and I would HIGHLY recommend this agency, as well as Oscar and Silvio, to anyone considering this kind of trip. You won't regret it and you will see incredible things!

        Jun 2024 • Friends
This is without a doubt the most special tour myself friends and I have ever been on, everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. Everything I am about to list below was included in the tour price.

We were first picked up from our hotel in La Paz at 8:00pm by private cars and taken to the bus terminal where we boarded the overnight coach. The coach seats were very comfortable and reclined to almost flat, we were also given a small meal on the bus before getting some sleep.

The bus arrived in Uyuni at roughly 7:30am where we were greeted by our Joker tour guide (Oscar) and drivers (Ever and Christian) and taken to a local hotel in the private cars we would be spending the day touring in.

We were then given two rooms at the hotel to shower, refresh and relax in prior to being served a nice buffet breakfast. Oscar then picked us up at about 10:30am and the tour commenced.

The tour was beyond incredible and was perfectly scheduled, Oscar gave us in depth information on every place and area we visited (train yard, salt processing plant, island, etc.) and spent lots of time taking amazing photos and videos of us once we got to the salt flats.

We were treated with lunch in the middle of the flats which was set up beautifully by the Joker team and then spent the last part of the day watching the sunset with wine and a cheese board.

Following the tour we were taken back to the hotel to freshen up and then to bus terminal for our return overnight trip to La Paz on the same coach, we were back in La Paz by 6:30am the following day.

I don’t typically write reviews this long winded but this one is an exception due to how special it is, we cannot thank Oscar, Ever and Christian enough for how far above and beyond they went to ensure we had the best day possible with the most fun.

If you are staying in La Paz and are considering a trip to the salt flats I cannot recommend this tour enough, you definitely won’t regret it.

        Thanks again Joker team!

Our trip to the Uyuni salt flats was an amazing experience. The flats are beautiful and Joker expeditions made sure the whole trip went above and beyond our expectations.
If you are thinking of going to Uyuni I can not recommend Joker expeditions enough.

The pickup and transfer went very good. I have a hard time sleeping in busses/planes. But with the reclining seats on our bus I slept better than I usually do.

Upon arrival in Uyuni we were picked up and delivered to a hotel where we had breakfast and got a room to relax and shower in.

Refreshed and ready we were picked up by our amazing driver and guide. Fernando and Leroy gave us impeccable service throughout the whole day. Leroy was extremely knowledgeable about local history, wildlife, culture, the salt purification process and much more. He also doubled as an incredible photographer.

The lunch was served in the middle of the salt flats. It felt like we had our own personal restaurant. The food was incredible and there was no one else for as far as the eye could see.

Fernando and Leroy also found us a beautiful spot to watch the sunset away from the main group of tourists. Here we had another table beautifully set up with a bottle of wine and snacks.

All in all the day was perfect. And we would like to give a special thanks to Fernando and Leroy for making it so.

From booking to drop off I was very impressed by the professionalism , flexibility and attention to detail this tour company provided.

I booked this tour very last minute on the plane due to change of plans and the only time available was Christmas Day. Jose catered to all my requests and managed to find me a private English guide within hours.

The overnight buses were comfortable but due to the dry and hot aircon I got sick. Upon arrival at Uyuni, I was given a hotel room to rest and freshen up. My guide Jeaneth and driver looked after me the entire time. Jeaneth taught me a lot about Bolivian culture and even put on a traditional dance show. She is also a fantastic photographer as she knows exactly when and how to get a good photo.

My accommodation was close to the bus station in La Paz but the tour company organized pick ip and drop off regardless.

Overall it was a very luxury experience and worth every penny.

Our trip to Uyuni was made really convenient with Joker Expedition.

They booked our overnight bus tickets to La Paz for us, picked us up directly from our hotel and guided us all the way onto the bus.

The bus itself was really comfy, and the seats reclined basically into beds. We were picked up straight from the bus doors at Uyuni and taken to a nice hotel where we met Jose, the manager, and were given access to a room for a couple of hours whilst we waited for our tour to start at 10am. We were also given breakfast here.

Our guide Israel collected us from this hotel lobby and took us around the Train Cemetery, the salt processing and the markets at Colchani and then onto the Salt Flats. Israel explained to us about how the flats were formed and also described how the locals process salt. We had a really nice lunch in a secluded spot on the salt flats and then Israel helped us take lots of fun photos with the perspective! After lunch we did a hike of the Incahuasi island which had amazing panoramas across the flats at the top.

Even though it was the dry season when we were there, Israel knew where there was still some water left at the south of the flats so we were lucky enough to enjoy the reflections as well, with cheese and wine at sunset!

We were taken back to the room we had in the hotel to wait an hour for our bus and then transferred to the station and back to our hotel at the other end.

Overall, a really easy and comfortable way to see the salt flats in a day with a great guide and lots of small touches that created an amazing experience!

We had the most amazing tour with Joker Expeditions. From start to finish everything was flawless. The night bus from La Paz was well organised and we were greeted by our driver Andy once we arrived in Uyuni. The breakfast and hot showers at Hotel Atipax were a bonus and much appreciated after a night bus. The day was jam packed with activities as well as a delicious lunch enjoyed on the salt flats. Our guide Janet and driver Andy were fantastic from start to finish. We would highly recommend booking this tour with Joker expeditions - professional service, unforgettable experience.

This trip was amazing from being picked up at our hotel to the luxury coach to the hotel we could shower at and were given breakfast to the fantastic day at the salt flats which included a lovely lunch and snacks whilst we watched the sunset to the coach home and the last lift to our hotel. Our guide Soledad Lopez and our driver Erik Cruz were knowledgeable and did everything to make the day extra special !

We had a wonderful time with our 1 Day Tour to Uyuni Salt Flat!

We were picked up at our hotel in La Paz just before 8PM to drop us off at the La Paz Bus Terminal. He (Joni) assisted us from making sure we have our tickets and where we should by certain time for the bus ride.

At exactly 9PM our bus left for UYUNI. It was a very comfortable 9 hour ride.
We arrived in Uyuni just before 7am, and there’s already someone waiting for us. He (Christian) dropped us off at the hotel where we had breakfast and advised us that we will be picked up at 10:30AM for our tour!

The Hotel concierge are very accommodating and very nice!

At exactly 10:30AM, our English Speaking guide had arrived (Janet). Janet is very knowledgeable about certain/specific things about Uyuni, we really appreciate her guiding us the whole tour. She was very patient with us, especially we love taking photos!

In this tour, lunch was included and we were surprised by how Christian and Janet set up the whole experience. Food was great too! 👍🏼♥️

In between, they drove us to Isla Incahuasi (Cacti Island 😊)

At the end of the day - they drove us to the area where the sky reflects on the water, which is what the Salar de Uyuni is known for - largest mirror in the world! We did have a lot of time to just enjoy and take in the moment….

Here, they once again set up another snacks/tea/wine for a toast 🥂 with the Sunset in the background!

Janet is also very creative with her Shots!

We will never forget this experience, and I definitely recommend this tour to anyone! We had a great time and there’s definitely no flaws TBH :)

At the end of the tour, they brought us back to the hotel where we had a chance to freshen up before our ride back to La Paz! Everything was in time and I couldn’t have asked for a better Tour!

Thanks Joker and to your team!

        Much ♥️

This day was one we will remember forever! Our driver Christian & guide Leroy went above and beyond to make the day so special, thank you so much!
We were worried about squeezing so much into one day trip but it didn’t feel rushed at all we had loads of time. The lunch set up and the evening drinks for sunset were just so amazing, the food was so yummy too, and they catered for me being veggie as well. Also Leroy took so much time to take the most incredible photos for us, ones we will cherish forever!
The whole day was so perfect, definitely book this tour! 😊

I could give 10 stars if possible! It is an amazing experience with the tourguide-Paolo who are great for guiding the entire tour and also an excellent photographer to help us to capture the amazing photos!!! The company, Joker Expedition has well organized from hotel pick up to drop off, great meals especially the lunch on the “mirror of the sky”, wine with the beautiful scenery of the sunset… we had a lot fun and forever memories! Highly recommended!

This tour was amazing! We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the bus station for an overnight bus trip from La Paz to Uyuni. The bus was extremely nice and sleeping was not a problem. We were met by our tour guide, Elsa, at the Uyuni bus station and taken to a wonderful hotel where we were able to shower, have breakfast, and relax for a few hours before heading out on the tour with Elsa and our driver, Jose. The tour started with a visit to the train cemetery, then on to a salt factory, and then the salt flats. A wonderful lunch was prepared by our guides, then Elsa proceeded to take all of the fun pictures (she’s a great photographer) that are possible out on the salt flats. We then visited Isla Incahuasi for some great views. After the island, we headed back to the edge of the salt flats for a breathtaking sunset and some more photos. We then headed back to the hotel to relax for a couple of hours again before heading to the bus station. We were met at the bus station when we arrived in La Paz and taken back to our hotel.

I can’t say enough about this tour! Wonderful planning and accommodations from start to finish! And we couldn’t have asked for better tour guides. Elsa and Jose were absolutely amazing! Elsa spoke great English and was a wonderful photographer!
