- JustGo_WithAMoto00Denise our tour guide was awesome. - tour highly recommended.Denise our tour guide was awesome. A wealth of knowledge ... we covered everything on the list in an exciting and colorful way - highly recommended
- rubinao32100Great tour and great guide!Great tour to get the know the city from above (in the cable cars). Christian was an amazing guide with lots of positive energy - making for happy memories! The shaman at the witches market had some interesting things to say about our fortune, let’s see if it comes true or not!
- 431christianal00Very insightful tourOur guide, Daniel, was very informative and fun. We went to very interesting places, including many areas in El Alto that I wouldn't visit myself otherwise. Totally recommend
- kpsDevon00Colour and spectacle in El AltoAn excellent insight into the life and landscape of El Alto. We visited different areas and saw a range of amazing Cholets reflecting the lives and businesses of their owners from Chinese style mansions to Transformer palaces. Without our excellent guide we would never have appreciated the richness of life in El Alto.
- Gaetan_Lm00Great food, great tour!A lotttttt of good food (mostly meat-based) so come hungry! Great and energetic guide who shared with the group many anecdotes and explanations about the food/drinks we had a chance to try. We recommend!
- Rebecca P00Great insight into the cityWe did the walking tour with Christiano and he was great! The tour was interesting, and lots of facts and knowledge was shared giving us a better insight into the city. Christiano always encouraged questions and answered them with passion about his country.
- MotherDHH00Fabulous El Alto Cholets and MansionsFabulous tour to see some cholets and mansions in the El Alto area. Great to walk and take public transportation through unfamiliar neighborhoods with a knowledgeable local guide. We weren't able to see inside any of the cholets, but managed to include a brief stop at the El Alto Condominio Wiphala, a cluster of several highrises painted by Roberto Mamani Mamani. Spectacular.
- JulieDonat00Life of people, houses and marketsvery interesting combo of teleferico rides and exploring the EL Alto neighborhoods. The cholets were only on attraction; the markets, the people, the juxtaposition of wealth and poverty being another dimension explored. My only negative is that 4 hours may be too long, 3 hours would be enough, and that I would have liked to know in advance that we would take shared vans/cabs so I can bring and wear a mask. Kudos to guide Cristian very nice and knowledgeable.
- Read8900Don’t hesitate to book the La Paz walking tour!Excellent tour with Daniel - would 100% recommend the walking tour. Daniel was very knowledgeable and had the whole group engaged from start to finish. We particularly loved the tours focus on Bolivian culture rather than all history. His english was exceptional too. We’re booked in to do the foodie tour with Red Cap too and have high hopes after our experience with Daniel. This was by far the best walking tour in our 2 months in South America so far!
- feiyangl201700Walking tour with ChristianMy guide is Christian who speaks perfect English and have a lot of knowledge concerning La Paz. He would like to share with tourists with his knowledge. Thanks to him!
- E2207ZJmarias00Great way to see and learn about La PazOur tour guide Max was excellent. He spoke very good English and was very enthusiastic and informative about sharing his home town and their culture with us. We rode in a collectivo to the cemetery and saw beautiful art murals and learned about the local customs, took the cable cars to El Alto where the view of the mountains was fantastic. Seeing the witches market with a local guide to answer our questions made it very special. We had a great afternoon with Max! I highly recommend this tour if you want to get outside of downtown La Paz and see other neighborhoods.
- janekC6943UP00Excellent guide and very full tummies!Having first taken a Red Cap walking tour with Denise, my boyfriend and I decided to do the Foodie/Gastronomie tour. Firstly, our guide Remborto was really friendly, chatty and made us feel very comfortable. We could of talked for hours. We talked about all the great food we tasted, how they are prepared, how they fit in Bolivian culture and much more. We got to try lots of different dishes also, street food, market food and some restaurants. Definitely make sure you bring your appetite. I think the tour is really good value and a wonderful way to engage with Bolivian food culture.
- 773jul00A must do for any foodies who want to learn about Bolivian culture and eat some incredible food.We did the food tour with Max, which was an absolute fantastic experience! His passion for Bolivian food and culture was infectious and he was so kind, warm and welcoming, sharing his favourite caseras with us. We loved everything we ate and drank and were transfixed by his stories. We were happy and very full by the end. If you enjoy good food and authentic culture and good storytelling - this is a MUST DO! We were a group of 6 and there was 1 other person on the tour with us, so a perfect number. Overall both tours we did with Red Cap made us fall in love with La Paz and Bolivian culture! Thank you Daniel and Max!
- 454claudiai00Change the location where this show takes placeThe place where this show takes place is really bad. Drunk people as soon as you get off the bus and extremely dirty. The show is very mediocre. Not a good experience nor a good impression for tourists.
- 77lorif00Informative and fun. Engaging guides. We did the walking tour of La Paz (no cable cars) and it was fantastic. Super story telling by our guide on 13 Oct at 10am. He even took us to a place where we could have lunch/snack with his recommended street food. Great prison , Pachamama offerings and Bolivian political history stories. Really enjoyed it.

Did the free walking tour of La Paz on Tuesday and sadly got really disappointed. I was recommended this company as the best one. Maybe I was just unlucky with the guide. The tour was so basic that I have no words to describe it. No introduction to Bolivia, no introduction to La Paz. Starting with a jail that is in the middle of the city and how families live there, how much flats cost there etc. Guide didn't even ask where we are from! That is the first mistake a guide can do. Talked way more about money and payment instead. Free walking tours are about the people, about making them talk to each other, discover the city together. And for the guide it was more important to get more than 20bs...and I was sad to give him these 20bs as he really didn't deserve it... we walked a lot but haven't talked even about the San Francisco square, which is one of the main places in La Paz instead we learnt how to chew coca ... I am a guide myself so I know how walking tours are supposed to work, sadly, from being super excited about taking this tour, I got really disappointed!

Hi, thank you for your opinion. We will be discussing with the guide the reasons for your comments. As you can see from our many other reviews, your review does not reflect the service that most people love with us. We certainly aren't the traditional city tour, which is part of why people love our tours and one of the most enjoyed stops is the San Pedro prison. Again, we will be discussing this further with our guide and thank you for your comments.

Amazing city tour! Definitely a must! I did the "free" (they can't legally do free, but it's super cheap/basically free) walking tour of La Paz. My guide, Christian was very knowledgeable and friendly. He did an amazing job of introducing me to La Paz and it's history and culture. Got to see and learn about all the main sites of the city and he explained each one with stories as well and answered all my questions. Additionally, I felt very safe as they took all the necessary covid precautions. If you are in the city, definitely take this tour! I wish I had time to do some more of their tours...

My little gang thought it would be great to get to know LaPaz with some local advice and info. We were not disappointed, Max was an excellent guide! We got so much insight into the culture of the city which made us all feel more comfortable and happy to explore solo after the tour. Max was a passionate and funny host who went out of his way to help us get to know the fascinating city and character of Bolivia. I’d highly recommend the walking tour, it’s not expensive and is well worth the time. Thanks again!!

I ended up signing up for 2 tours after I finished this one because I enjoyed my experience with Denise so much - so clearly, i highly recommend this tour :) I did this one, the extended city tour that took me all the way up to El Altos & the food tour to finish the day off. Denise gave us a LOT of history on the place, which is always so fascinating when you're visiting a city for the first time. She patiently answered any questions the group had, no matter how large/small the group was. And also gave us great recommendations for places to go to/restaurants to visit even after the tours. It was a delight for me to be able to sample some street food with someone that knew where to go to for the best of everything! Thank you, Denise :)

Would highly recommend anyone to take the 3 hour walking tour of La Paz. Our guides Chris and Rem were excellent, knowledgeable and so friendly. We learnt interesting facts about the city itself as well as it's local people and much about the traditions in place. Thanks guys!

The walking tour of La Paz was great! Chris was our tour guide and his extensive knowledge and passion for the city made the tour not only informative, but also engaging and entertaining. From the bustling witches market to the historical landmarks, Chris made sure to highlight all of the key features of La Paz while also sharing cultural and historical anecdotes. Anyone looking to learn more about La Paz and get local recommendations for places to eat and drink then I highly recommend this tour.

I took a tour with Daniel on a Sunday morning and right away I knew it was going to be great. The first 20 minutes was spent on one building, the prison but I was engaged the entire time. His stories brought everything to life and provided insight and personal experience into the tour which I appreciated. He was funny and the whole group had a great time. Highly recommended it.

This tour was one of the best things we did in Bolivia! Max our tour guide was fantastic, had perfect English, and amazing knowledge of the city and Bolivias history. He brought us to all the main spots you would want to see in the city, kept us entertained the whole time, and was always happy to answer any questions we had about the tour, the city, or Bolivia in general. We would recommend this tour as the first thing for anyone visiting La Paz to do!

My family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids aged 16,14 and 10) all had a wonderful time doing this tour. It was fascinating to hear all the stories and visit all the must see places on foot. Denise is a super star tour guide, sharing the history and stories about La Paz and Bolivia in an engaging way that had us all captivated: from the San Pedro prison to cholitas and why they wear those hats; to the superstitions surrounding the witches market. Highly recommend this tour!!

Having travelled through Peru I've done a few city walking tours already, however the Red Cap walking tour of La Paz is probably one of the best I've done. It's maybe not as extensive as some tours I've done in terms of distance covered, but the information provided more than made up for this...especially the info about San Pedro prison!!
Denise, our tour guide, was super knowledgeable, really engaging and best of all...entertaining; she really was brilliant! And for $3 it's a really great way to understand La Paz and its culture better, whilst also familiarising yourself with the major spots of the city.
