Find tune in your trip to do this
An amazing trip; relatively short ride out of Riyadh but feels a million miles away. Rashid was a great, chilled out guide and the scenery was stunning. Like Arizona or monument valley crossed with Mars.

      Highly recommend :)
We went on the Red Sands Tour with Faisal and his team. The desert landscape and sand dunes were breathtaking, particularly at sunset. If you enjoy or want to experience being out in a natural desert environment, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this place is worth visiting. We drove through the sand dunes, had fun on the sandboard, played a board game, enjoyed snacks, dinner, and arabic coffee as the sun set over the horizon. Our transport was via 4WD. On arriving to the dunes, tents and and seating had been set up so we could sit, chat, socialise and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Portable toilets were also available. Highly recommend this company. They genuinely care about customer experience and the business as a whole. I felt safe and in good hands with local guides who know the area and the country well.

Do not sleep in their camp
My husband and I booked an individual tour for 2k RS which included airport pickup/ hotel dropoff, activities (feeding camels, archery, dune sliding), dinner, breakfast, snacks, drinks and accommodation. Everything was fine except the accommodation. We were supposed to setup our bed ourselves in the beginning. After being helpless how to unpack the substandard mattresses, pillows and blankets from broken and extremely dirty plastic bags, they setup the bed for us. Unfortunately, there were no bed covers or linen so that we had to sleep on the dusty and smelly things which were already used by guests before us. We are used to camping and have spent several nights in the desert before. We felt that the provided setup was very dirty, disgusting and overpriced. Blankets were so thin that we were freezing the whole night despite wearing multiple layers. Mice were running through the tent all night long (nothing anyone can do about but might be important for other guests). Toilets are portable ones one can find at festivals. Provided feedback to the owner was unfortunately not taken seriously. Good option for a day trip, but not recommended to spend the night there.

      Gorgeous and Tranquil
Highly recommend this tour. After you leave the highway and go off-roading for ten minutes, there is endless gorgeous red sand dunes. You can see the camels walking around and go sand boarding, it was so quiet and peaceful. Great escape from the city with a tasty dinner and star gazing before heading back.

Must see! Red Sand Dunes with Faisal
Riyadh Sand Dunes - Safari was an unforgettable adventure! Faisal, our guide for the whole day, made the experience exceptional with his expertise and warm personality. From thrilling dune bashing to stunning sunset views, every moment was magical. The attention to detail and safety were top-notch. A must do for anyone wanting to explore the beauty of the Arabian desert! Me and friends felt like home.

      Amazing experience 😍
With Riyadh Hiking you get the unforgettable experience: you not only see the spectacular views of the cliffs, and take amazing pictures, you get the emotions and support during the trip, and a tasty tea/coffee with snacks and a meal at the end. We had nice conversations beside the fire under the moon. Thank you, team, the trip was marvelous

Amazing experience in the Red Sand Dunes
It was a wonderful experience. The guide was fabulous and very friendly. I love the no hassels during meet up. The star gazing was great with the camel rides. A must do experience.

Faisal was a wonderful tour guide on our edge of the world tour in Riyadh! Prior to the tour he was responsive with communicating and arrived at the collection point ahead of time. Faisal was accommodating to everyone’s needs, even stopping for snacks along the way. Faisal continued to assist with tips for tours in other cities planned to visit. Would highly recommend! Thank you!!

My family and I have done three trips with Riyadh Hiking so far. Faisal and his team are always very professional and a pleasure to deal with and the delicious dinner around a fire in the desert, chatting with fellow travellers from around the world is such a lovely way to end the day.

      Amazing! Don’t miss it!
Me and my girls went to The Edge of the World and Abu was our guide. It was beyond exceptional. He was so cautious with my kids and took us to many amazing points. Took great pictures and made a awesome video of us hiking. After that we had tea, dates, coffee… with Zamir and others all amazing. They took us to a phenomenal delicious restaurant and we ate like locals and they were so nice to teach us about their traditions. I would give millions of stars if I could. Don’t miss this! Do It! Super safe! Visit Saudi Arabia/ Riyadt 😃🎉

Within a doubt a well spent weekend
I had the opportunity to explore Riyadh and its vecinities with Riyadh hiking group. The tours are very well organised, easy going and relax atmosphere. Faisal and his team are very welcoming, helpful and hospitable. He give us enough time to take photos and enjoy the landscape. At the end of the day a traditional meal was organised in a very authentic restaurant were we can taste not just the delicious food but also being introduced to some of the Saudi culture. Without a doubt a well expend day. Highly recommended.

Please avoid. The operator is only interested in making money and you're likely to be left scammed if you book through them.

The owner sent one driver to the pick up point and after an hour of driving, we were told that we were the only ones on the trip that day. This wasn't an issue but soon we realised that the experience was limited to just driving us to the cliff and leaving us there for a few hours before driving us back. This wasn't the experience that was promised. When we enquired, the driver told us that we came on the wrong day (Monday) and that the day before (Sunday) was very lively. We were unable to contact the owner due to poor network.

Secondly we were taken to the edge of the world 2 and not the original one. We were informed of this after we sat in the car. When we enquired why, we were told that on Mondays, it is closed. If that's the case, then why take the booking. Also, I had contacted the owner via phone before making this booking to confirm if we should proceed. He said yes please make the booking.

Lastly, the driver kept telling us the amazing experiences we missed out on had we come over the weekend. Eventually when we did return and had network, we tried contacting the owner and realised that he wasn't as interested in hearing our complaints.

Overall, this is a must avoid. If you're interested in visiting the place, make sure you have a large enough group and I would recommend driving yourselves. This operator barely does anything to charge the amount they do.

I’m so sorry but I think you left this to the wrong tour agency because we didn’t go to that location since last May ( 5 months ago) . Also we never leave people walking by themselves . Please make sure to leave this review to the same tour agency that you booked with

I joined this tour with two of my friends.
The location itself is gorgeous and excellent.
However the service of this travel agency Riyadh Hiking is poor.

First of all, their driver was 45mins late without prior notice, I was trying to whatsapp the company until 3:35pm (was 35mins late already) they finally reply me.

Their tour itinerary mentioned in the website is not correct at all. They said "You’ll also get time at a campsite to enjoy camel rides, quad biking and refreshments, plus if time allows, even a BBQ under the stars."
No camel, No quad biking. We were brought to a Traditional restaurant to have local cuisine. To be honest the meal was sucks. The ask two of us to share the same dish (no individual plate provided) which is not hygiene at all. Only one dish for two person.

Some of our friends so happen doing the same itinerary with us (they even arrived Edge of the world earlier than us, pick up at hotel, eating at the same restaurant same food). Their tour fee is only 50% of our tour fee ! Can you tell how terrible feeling we had.

That's why we are not recommend this company to any tourists.

hi, we so sorry for your experience with us, unfortunately yes we were late 35 minutes due to the cars accident on the way , we contacted to explain everything and to apologize we offer you a traditional dinner at the Resturant and you accept it, it was in traditional Resturant and local people sharing the same dish witch is part of our culture, we respect your taste but it wasn't nice of you to say (meal was sucks) the tickets that you bought are not including the camel ride and quad bikes. and about the price, Viator and TripAdvisor have more than 10 companies offering the trips for different prices (more and less) you choose our company and this price and your dinner cost us more than 50% of what you paid to us and we didn't mind to pay because we were late and we have to make it up for our customers.

Alhamdulillah had a wonderful experience on
    10102020 I.e. 10 Oct 2020
    Well organised complete activity
Right from the start from Dr. Baker Cafe, then Edge of the world followed by Hidden BATS cave.
Nature's beauty, mesmerising wind and sun set. . Wow feeling.
Explored hidden cave of BATS, luckily saw few as well.
Outside extreme cold and inside the cave extreme hot.

Not just mask, but also carry your sweaters or jackets
The more it becomes darker the more cold you will feel.

Well prepared fresh delicious food alongside traditional Arabic Coffee Kava

    Wonderful.

Inshallah will plan for Abha next time.

I am waiting to resolve my group's complaints from our trip to The Edge Of The World on 14/05/21.

The location itself was beautiful - which has more to do with mother nature than anything else.

Unfortunately, due to a sandstorm the tour company were not able to deliver on their itinerary (food, bat caves etc) The contingencies in place were not adequate or communicated to us. We were taken to a privately owned campsite where the facilities were disappointing. The toilets were unusable and gender mixed. The food was prepared 2 hours late after being told the food will take only half an hour. With a party of 16 including young children, it was a difficult experience.

I have been contacting you since 9pm today as you requested yesterday. However, you have not been answering my calls.

Please call so we can discuss the refund process.

    Whilst the views we

Tour agency needs to provide clear instructions on meet-up and confirmation. I was 3 minutes late (as proven by my taxi receipt) but when I arrived outside of SPAR supermarket, no one was there. When I contacted Riyadh Hikers, they claimed that they have already "left". This is Saudi Arabia - from my experience, 3 mins late is reasonable. They did not even bother to contact me before the trip to confirm and neither did they contact me before they left. This is the first time I have encountered such poor service from a day trip operator.

Beware! Beware! Beware! To all potential tourists who are thinking of signing on to this trip and tour operator. You are taking on a big risk! I was not able to get a refund of my USD 150 because I was 3 mins "late".

I only realized that other tourists also encountered similar situation as me. Hence, please do go through the reviews, especially the ones which rated Riyadh Hikers poorly.

Suggest to also check with the other tour operators. They may provide better assurance on quality of service. Please also make sure you contact these other operators directly to get a confirmation and make sure you are in contact with them just before the departure just to be sure that the trip is on.

So sorry for your bad experience, please let us explain for you: 1- first you mentioned that you are late, during the weekdays from 12pm - 6pm is a rush hour. We can’t wait anyone or we will be late as well. A lot of people said we are 2 minutes or 5 minutes but they don’t show up till after 30 minutes later. It’s also disrespectful for people who came on time. So if i wait for you people who came on time will be so upset and this is not fair for them. That’s why we can’t wait for anyone. 2- we offer you to reschedule but you didn’t accept it, you said you will ask for refund through Viator. We never got any refund request from you, if you’re refund request been rejected, then it will be rejected by Viator not from us, also you paid to Viator, you didn’t pay for us. We didn’t receive anything from you. 3- we never provide you any service, how did you call our service is poor. 4- we been doing this business 4 years now , we did a lot of trips for ambassadors, diplomats and celebrities around the world when they visited Riyadh. And they all happy with our trips. Unfortunately we have to deal with people like you sometimes but it’s part of our business . Good luck

I had a great trip. We were just two guests (which I want to highlight, because many tour operators would cancel the trip with this number of participants).
We drove over in a GMC 4x4 truck and then "hiked" (rather walked) along the edge of the world. The guide was very friendly, able to communicate in English at ease, and really knew the area (pointing out to things visible and explaining what they were). The guide patiently took nice pictures of us and gave us all the time we wanted. We then set up camping chairs at the edge of the edge (haha) and enjoyed some dates, snacks, and really good Saudi tea and coffee (even if you do not drink coffee like me - try this one, it is a completely different and very pleasant taste). We then drove over to a traditional Saudi restaurant where we had dinner, sitting at the carpet floor and (if we wanted) even eating with our hands. The guide then even dropped me off directly at my hotel (the Ritz Carlton), even though this was 20km from the "official" drop-off point. I highly appreciated this.
To make it short: would book again, can fully recommend

We had a very special experience visiting the majestic & spectacular Edge of the World all alone - no other tourists nor locals, just us, 4 ppl in the small group. I do recommend going there in a small company to enjoy and sink into its breathtaking views and meditative ambience. If you go there in winter time, chances are of spotting a snake or a spiny-tailed lizard. After sunset we had a delicious dinner in a traditional setting. Thanks for the unforgettable experience.

We were on our way in a taxi to the meeting point only to be told last minute the weather was too bad for the trip. I understand safety comes first but we had just wasted money on a taxi without any apology and had to change our plans for the day. We still decided to go the following day instead. The owner Faisal arrived 40 minutes late and from the moment we got in the car he did not speak to us once unless we asked him a question. We spent around 5 hours with him on the trip and he did ask us one question-Our name, where we are from or if we enjoy Riyadh ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He seemed disinterested in anything we said and had a very bad attitude throughout the whole trip so me and my friend tried to enjoy it ourselves as much as we could. I am very shocked as the owner of a business you would treat paying customers this way. Nothing was explained to us on the hike no information about anything unless we asked. Even when we got to the edge he just sat away from us and never even offered to take a picture or give some information about the place. On the way back he was saying he needs to be back for the next trip at 2.30. Even though he was late in the morning he was now rushing our experience. He even asked if we want to skip the traditional lunch to which we said no we paid for it or else he can take the cost out of the trip and we will take lunch ourselves to which he declined. So he brought us to a place and we had to sit there uncomfortable with him eating as he would not initiate any conversation. The location is amazing and the trip could be so enjoyable only if you have a guide who actually cares about their clients.

Sorry for your bad experience and let me explain again: 1- the location was 2 hours from Riyadh in the north east. We had a trip earlier that day and the guide said the weather is getting worse better to cancel the trip. Once we got the warning we canceled the trip. We already apologized to Your friend who was contacting us. 2- I wasn’t late at all. Your friend confirmed the trip the next day early morning I texted your friend to confirm the trip at 8:39am and she still wasn’t sure if she wanted to go. She confirmed only at 8:57am and she said we need 40 minutes to be ready. I reached to your hotel at 10:03 am so it’s took me almost in an hour to wake up have breakfast and get ready and drive to your hotel ( 23 minutes away from my place) . 3- unfortunately you didn’t like the place and you were too scared, I asked you let’s go to the edge and you said no I’m ok here. Also you didn’t like the weather, is it still my bad ? 4- all the way you asked me about my personal life but you never ask about the history of the place or any information about the place. Maybe you didn’t care to know? But also I sent to your friend who seems enjoyed the trip and the location a video for me explaining everything about that place, have you watched? 5- the lunch was not included the package. You can go to our website and check the package , it was extra from me to make it up for the cancelled trip the day before. I did my best and I was so flexible With timing because you have a flight at 5pm. 6- i did extra services pick from the hotel and drop off at the airport after and lunch usually we do this for 700SAR per person as a private tour . But I charged you 300SAR ( 250SAR and 50 UAE dirham because you don’t have any cash anymore) I took you for a lunch in traditional restaurant where people sit on floor ( our culture) is it still my bad if you don’t like it? All the trip wasn’t on schedule but we made this trip in the last minute because you asked for and we made it happened. I was aspecting a big thanks for what I did . Everything was planned in the last minute as I told your friend before that i have another trip at 2:30pm before even we start your trip and I asked her to join us but she said we have a flight at 2:30pm . 7- i was in contact with your friend all the time and we agree on everything in the trip. So I don’t think it’s my fault if she didn’t explain anything to you. 8- I don’t think you will enjoy the trip with any other tour agency because you didn’t like place and weather .

Faisal is the best tour guide you can imagine! Local yet very internationally shaped. He picked us up with a huge Jeep that was fully equipped for the dessert, played techno on the way to the dessert and was overall great fun! He‘s the right amount fun yet super responsible and caring - we completely trusted him!
The tour led us to date farms, an old settlement, camels, a bat cave and finally the edge of the world with a 2h hike and then a sunset dinner that he cooked freshly on site while we watched the sun set. Most beautiful and fun experience I had in Saudi! Can recommend this wholeheartedly!
    Go Faisal! 💪🏼

The place is interesting to go. The transportation is arranged by buses and by 4 weel drive vehicles. It takes about 1.h and 40 mi uets to get to the place. There many people working in the organization and trying to take care of all of us and very kind and helpful. I assist with my dauther of 1.5 years and my wife and three Spanish friends.
