The most amazing breath-taking gorge in Jordan at 400 meters below sea level. The Wadi Mujib Reserve is the lowest natural reserve in the world, located in the mountainous landscape to the east of the Dead Sea, approximately 90 kilometers southwest of Amman. The trail is graded easy to moderate and starts at the visitor’s center. A self-guided trekking tour, where you will follow the course of the river towards the dam. Once the waterfall and gorge are reached, you will be able to enjoy a swim depending on the season rainfall levels. This is an ideal walk to take slowly and enjoy the cool water shade, especially in the heat of the summer. Walk towards your car that is waiting for you to return to your centrally located hotel in Amman, after this amazing unforgettable easy – moderate hiking experience! Please note customers must be at least 18 years old, know how to swim, and be in good physical condition. This tour is not recommended for clients with health problems.

Fun water sport!! Pulse raising as well :)
I have been wanting to post a review on this place for a very long time. It was April 2015 when we visited here. :) It is still fresh in my memory as this is a different but fascinating place in Jordan.
The Siq Trail gorge trek is an absolute must-do for those who love water sport.
Fun, refreshing & pulse raising!!
Hiking through the gorge, scrambling, climbing several boulder rocks against the water current, sliding off rocks, swimming past several water falls and wading was definitely challenging, yet so much fun.
We did this activity at midday. Was refreshing in the hot sun.
The guides are experienced and helpful.
Do not miss this activity when in Jordan.

Great fun!
Oct 2019 • Family
This is the only trail that was open (20 JD pp). As a family of 4, we opted for a guide, Ali, (39JOD). We could have done it without the guide but appreciated his insight within the trail and help with photo taking. He led all four us through the canyon as we floated on our backs. What a view!
The trail takes about 2 hours (there and back). You don’t need a reservation, or to bring anything (unless you don’t look 18- then you need some ID).

We wore sneakers or teva’s.

It was an expensive day, but worth it!

Great fun canyoning
What great fun. Costing 21 JOD, you don't need a guide or need to book. You can get a guide if you're not confident in water but everybody gets a life jacket and any area of deep water has plenty of ropes to hang onto. There's a waterfall att he end that you can go behind too! It takes about 2 hours to go to the end and get back again. They have lockers that are free - you need to bring your own lock. The canyon is rocky, so you'll need closed-toe, sturdy footwear like hiking sandels or trainers.

Wow amazing experience if you come to Jordan 🇯🇴 you have to do this. This place is CASH ONLY!!!! Worth every penny and you do not need a guide. The trail is easy to follow and there are other people around to help. Just pay the entrance fee that’s all.

What a BLAST! Bring water proof pouch (or rent one)
May 2019
It was exhilarating to walk, to swim, to climb, to scrabble, through the water, over the rocks. You can pay for a guide, but you really don't need to. The trail is obvious. The footing is problematic at times, so if you're not comfortable forging your own way in nature, a guide might be a good choice. We're two senior citizens in OK physical shape and while the hike up the slot canyon stretched us to our limits, we managed just fine, and had the time of our lives!

Great fun, and indeed sometimes not without risk
Apr 2019 • Couples
We went April 2019, just 2 days after it was opened, so water was 'really' high (apparently). We went in without a guide, and you'll get a life jacket (needed) and a waterproof bag (also needed). Price 21 JOD each plus 10 JOD for the bag rental. We didn't take a guide, since we were told we didn't need any. Which is true. However, there are guides in the trail that help out folks (I assume they simple 'roam around' and help folks, and quite frankly it's helpful to be guided at some waterfalls. You will manage by yourself, no question, but if someone tells you where to put your foot etc it's helpful. You'll most likely see others and can copy them, so indeed no guide needed in my opinion. By the way, we were early (around 08:30, after sleeping in Mujib Chalets at red see, literally across the street from the entrance) which gave us the big advantage of being there with not too many others. On our way back it got crowded (approx 10:30 or so) and then it will take a much longer time to get through the obstacles since you may need to wait and wait and wait to let folks through..

Unique!
A wonderful place, for a wonderful experience!
We were a group of 15 people, and we had so much fun there.
The trail it's not that easy, we helped girls in different points on the way up.
But we did it and we were so amazed from the beauty of the rocks above us. You feel adrenaline every second!
Maybe they have to think about an helmet besides the safe jacket.
Something that you have to try once, and more, in a life.

So much fun! No guide needed
Amazing trail, really enjoyed all of it! Try to come early to avoid the busses full of people that could jam the trail.

It's not super easy, but doable for almost everyone. Don't need to hire a guide, it's pretty self explanatory. Besides, there are a lot of other people hiring a guide so you can see them do it.

The views are amazing and it's a nice workout. The waterfalls are also fun to slide or jump down from.

You should really try this when you're in Jordan!

Canyoning! highly recommended but be prepared!
Sep 2018 • Friends
for inexperience travellers. It's totally doable but it's not "easy". Hire a guy ($35JD); it was worth it.

we went in Sept and supposedly the water level was higher than usual and the current was pretty fast at some point; i don't think i can finish the trail without the guide.
you do need to swim (against current), climb, and use robes. On the way back you also slide off a rock into the current (it's pretty fun and not high up; but it can be intimidated if you are just expecting an easy hiking trail).

you don't have to dress conservatively, but please don't wear a dress. Wear bikini and shorts (if you wear bikini bottom only, the current might actually eat it off you :). I wore nike flyknit and they were perfect (got wet, but got good grip). my friends wore water shoes but it could still be a bit rocky, she said. they do give you life jackets.

Travel light. you don't need water/sunscreen/glasses/hat. bring a waterproof case/bag for your phone if you want to bring it.

the whole tour took about 2 hours. 30-45mins of it is pretty chill (walking in shallow water and/or lazy river style). The view and the experience is unreal and i would do it all over again!

great nature trip in the desert kingdom
May 2018 • Friends
We went as a group of 14 in late May. The waters were wonderfully cooling, the gorge scenery gorgeous and the terrain exciting. They say the gorge hike can range from easy to medium difficulty I guess depending on the time of year and water level. The hike, swim, climb, skip, zip of sorts, float downstream was such a welcome departure from the antiquities trail. Strongly suggest that you Go with a guide. For JD 35 per trip, it is a good investment! They supply life jackets but you may want to equip yourself with skin tight shorts and tops (to lessen drag) and good tight rubber surf shoes to navigate the rocky surface. The current was pretty strong when we went and the water level higher than 2-3 meters in some parts. It was exhilarating, at times a bit scary but in the end you'll be glad you did it !! Great experience in the desert !
