About
Join our hostel's staff to a special neighborhood called the Yemenite Quarter, through the maze-like alleyways and experience the food, the culture and the people. This place is unique not only due to the feeling of a kibbutz inside a city, but also because of the authentic culinary culture which is like no other. Then, we’ll arrive at the main dish – the famous Carmel Market. In the market we will experience together the smell and the taste of amazing Israeli food. We will get to the best places in the open market and enjoy some mid-day shots of Arak. The tour includes Burekas, Hummus, Halva, Malabi and more incredible dishes brought by Jewish immigrants to Israel from all over the world – Asia, Africa and Europe. Everything includes good vibes, big laughs, small stories and strong alcohol.

Great food! Great guide!
Dec 2019 • Solo
We got to tour lots of off the beaten path restaurants around the market, that actual Israelis go to. It was some of the best food I ate in Israel. There was a lot of variety, and the group was small enough that you got to have an interesting conversation with everyone!

Unfortunately, not a lot of food for a food tour

Seemed more like a “hey let’s walk around the neighbourhood and meet some of my friends” tour, than a proper tour with knowledge a traveler would find interesting. I don’t care where “bob” lives. Tell us why we’re here, and why this place is special. Ori is a great guy, but the tour was not worth the 40 plus dollars I paid. There needs to be more structure, more information, and definitely more food.

Highly recommended tour with Ori. He's a fun and knowledgeable guy and the places selected were simple but great. It was a fun group and it's certainly a great way to have a very extended lunch (and daytime drinking)!

Not worth it
Dec 2019 • Solo
For a local food experience, it was lacking food. We had to fight between the 15 of us, 3 small hummus plates and 8 pitas. Likely could have gotten the better value if I went with 3 others to all the same spots for all the same dishes.
