Tourist Israel -Beware - Thieves
May 2020
Prepaid for several tours with Tourist Israel and had to cancel due to Covid virus. Tourist Israel promised refund but after 4 months still NO refund. I paid well over $600.00 usd and now I view them as one dishonest company. Stay away

Well organized '4-day Highlights of Jordan from Tel Aviv' trip
Feb 2020
A 4-day trip is a complex affair with many moving parts, and I was expecting some hiccups. However everything went smoothly (except the weather). All the guides/organizers were efficient and professional. The hand-offs between different guides was smooth. Got to see Jerash, Mt Nebo, Amman Citadel, Amman Roman Amphitheater, the best Shawarma place in the world (Amman), Petra (with a lot of free time to explore on our own) and Wadi Rum. After Wadi Rum (on the 4th day) we had a few hours free time in Aqaba before being driven to the southern border crossing and on to Tel Aviv.

Incredible Experience
Feb 2020
I really enjoyed this tour but there are a few things you should know
On the 2 day tour, both days are LONG, so be prepared. We left Tel-Aviv at 3am and drove to Eilat to cross the border. Border crossing took about 1 hour, but was hassle-free in Israel and Jordan. From there, we were picked up by our guide and taken into Aqaba. After a brief drive around the city, we stopped for lunch and then headed up to Wadi Rum for the day.
Wadi Rum is amazing - the scenery and vastness of the desert is breathtaking. We rode around in trucks to different points in the desert and watching the sunset was one of the highlights of my entire 2 week trip.
Please note - if you are expecting to spend the night in the Bedouin camp, if you are visiting in the winter, you will not be staying in a tent unless you upgrade to the chalet, as it's too cold to spend the night in a tent in the winter. Instead, you are taken back to Aqaba and spend the night in a hotel. The hotel we stayed in was fine - think of a Courtyard or Best Western. The next morning you have breakfast and then are off to Petra
Our guide was terrific, Nizar was both incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He answered any questions we had without hesitation and as helpful as could be.
Petra is incredible, truly one of the wonders of the world. However, if you want to see it all (including the Monastery, which I regret not being able to see) you will need to book the longer tour, as this 2 day tour only really gives you the afternoon in Petra. We were still able to see the main sites of Petra, and what felt like 80% of the city, but to hike up to the monastery and to hike to other significant sites within Petra, you will need more than one day for sure
Great tour, great experience, I would certainly recommend

An amazing and worry-free experience!

It was totally worth it to take a tour to Jordan. Tourist Israel made our trip worry-free and the experience of Wadi-Rum and Petra is a must! - truly magical.

Highlight of our holiday
Great tour. Wadi Rum is a “must see”. Driving through the sand and hills was fun. Riding a camel at sunset. The overnight in Bedouin camp was very comfortable and food was really good. The first day travel from Tel Aviv is long, but beautiful scenery. Border crossing is very slow... it took us 2 hours , so if you take one day tour, there may not be much time to see Petra. With the 2 day tour, we were in no hurry and were able to see a bit of Aqaba and have lunch before getting to camp. The visit to Petra was spectacular. It’s a 2 hour drive from Aqaba, so we didn’t start Petra visit till 11am. Petra seems other worldly, and there’s so much too see and learn about. Border crossing back to Israel is much easier. Tour guides throughout the tour were very helpful. They assisted at both sides of border crossing. Tour of Wadi Rum and Petra were highlights of our trip. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Hi PAM K, thanks for taking the time to give your feedback of the tour. We are glad you enjoyed everything. We know that the drives are long and the border crossing can sometimes take a long time if the group is large or a lot of people are crossing that day, but we do our best to make sure the transport is comfortable and everything runs on time, which it seems it did for you. Petra and Wadi Rum are amazing places so we are glad you had a great time and we hope you'll join another tour with us!

Efficient tour
Feb 2020 • Friends
While in Israel we took 2 tours using Tourist Israel tours. Both tours ran like clockwork. Our 2 day tour to Petra and Wadi Rum was no exception. We met the tour in Eilat rather than Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. The tour starts on the Israeli side of the border with tour officials making sure all passports are in order. All
Fees are paid by the tour members. Once across the border we were met by our Jordanian guide, Abdullah. Our tour started with about 15 meme era but that would change depending on the day. We were given a quick tour of Acaba, then lunch at a restaurant which we paid for and then off to Wadi Rum. While at Wadi Rum we took an off roading tour of the beautiful desert moving from tent to tent where we were served tea. After about 2 hours we returned to our bus and to Acaba where we had an 3 star hotel. During warmer months the tour stays at a Bedouin Camp. Dinner was included. The next day after picking up more tour members at the border we drove to Petra. Again we gave all entrance fees to our tour guide who bought tickets. Abdullah took us through Petra stopping for explanations. We then had a couple hours on our own to explore. At about 4 pm we started on the drive back to the border. A bus was waiting on the Israeli side to deliver us back to either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. We arrived in Tel Aviv at about 1 am. A representative was there to meet us and arrange for a taxi to take us home. I was impressed!!This is a no frills tour but I was can not complain. It got the job done. This is definitely a tour for those who are visiting or live in Israel and want a quick trip to see the Amazing sights of Jordan.

The worst and most disorganized tour
Feb 2020
My friend and I joined the 2 day tour earlier this month. Wadi Rum and Petra are remarkable and extraordinary . But the organization of the tour was utterly appalling. Here's why: First , after overnight in an Aqaba hotel , we were all excited to finally go to Petra after breakfast, as the itinerary indicated. But instead, we were driven to the border, waited for nearly 2 hours on the bus, to pick up a new group . No water. No bathroom available. When asked, the tour guide repeatedly said " This is the company's call. I'm just following orders" , in the rudest manner. 2 hours of our time , completely wasted. We were offered No explanation. No apologies. Secondly, the Aqaba hotel we were put in was supposed to be a 4-star hotel. I don't know whose standard that is, but would anyone rate a hotel 4 stars if it provides wifi ONLY in the lobby and restaurant ? when the water is so cold that you can not bear to have a shower even after 4 hours in the dessert ? Will you rate a hotel 4 star when the wall papers are peeling off all over the room and there's only one thin sheet between you and the mattress ? I think not. Last but not least. Our guide in Jordan is the worst , most unprofessional tour guide I've ever encountered. Lack of mannerism , no common courtesy . And, as agreed upon by other tour members in the group, the worst part is he is full of political opinions . We joined the tour to experience , appreciate the country's wonderful and rich history and culture. We did not go there to listen to a tour guide's political comments. That's for yourself. I am not interested . and we can not care less. Keep it to yourself , sir , because it's utterly inappropriate to impose that on a group of international travelers when you know nothing about their political , religious and cultural background is . I can not begin to express how appalled and disappointed we were by the tour guide, and this tour. A shame. If I had a choice , I would have given ZERO star.

Hi BoardingPass633017, thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your negative experience in Jordan. You are absolutely correct that you should not have had to go to the border and wait for the one-day tour to cross over. It seems this was done in order to consolidate the groups, as they were both small, but this does not follow your 2-day tour itinerary and we are investigating what happened with our operator in Jordan. Please contact us directly at info@touristisrael.com and we would be happy to discuss this, as well as the issues with the hotel and the guide, with you. We are always striving to make our tour as organized, informative, and we will be sure to look into what happened in order to improve.

Petra is beyond describing with words; most especially the Treasury. A must see! Wadi Rum (Moon Valley) is a wonderfully great adventure. Be sure you take the camel ride, and the jeep ride.

Amazing once-in-a-lifetime kind of trip!
Jan 2020
The 2 day Petra/Wadi Rum tour was the perfect weekend experience from Tel Aviv. We were a group of 23 NYU Stern students and chose the private tour option (highly recommended!). The buses were comfortable and included wifi both in Israel and in Jordan, and we had plenty of opportunities for breaks as needed along our journey.
The border crossing process was seamless thanks to TouristIsrael setting us up ahead of time. Upon crossing into Jordan we were greeted by one of the best tour guides you will ever meet - Adnan! He was simply amazing and made the tour a lot of fun. While Petra was on most people's minds, I speak for most of us when I say Wadi Rum really turned out to be the main highlight of the trip. The desert safari provided ample opportunities for pictures and the Bedouin Camp Chalets were comfortable as well. We had dinner at the campsite and breakfast the following day before heading to Petra. At Petra, be mindful that you only get ~3-4 hours to enjoy the ruins. This sounds like a lot but time flies - try to avoid the Monastery hike as otherwise you will end up rushing things. Also, the return leg of the journey is quite long so be mentally prepared - from Petra to the Aqaba border into Eilat and on to Tel Aviv. As Adnan said "It will be the longest day everrrr".
Final thoughts - if you are thinking about this tour, DO IT! You will not regret it. Nathalie and Gabi from the Tourist Israel team were super helpful in answering all our questions and for accommodating our many changes. Thanks to all of you for making this trip truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Looking forward to visiting again!
