    Highly recommend
Although my trip to Jordan couldn’t happen because of the war, I want to highly recommend Tourist Israel. From the first contact, Christina was so professional and responsive. Other staff at Tourist Israel were also so helpful.

Impressive logistical assistance and great tour experience
Great friendly, warm, empathic service from Meital at Tourism Israel Head Office in suggesting and then detailing how we could leave our Jordan tour at Amman, rather than returning to Israel to get a flight out while the war with Hamas was in progress. This followed cancellation of our flight home from Israel by Emirates, even though it had been booked months before. Jordan tour guide and driver, Feisal, was extraordinarily helpful and effective in showing us the sights of Jordan throughout the length and breadth of the country. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to both Meital and Feisal of Tourist Israel on their sterling service and generous hospitality. - Roger and Annette

    Unreliable.
Had a bad exprience of booking a transfer to Amman airport. A series of misleading information ended up in a driver that never showed up and dozens of phone calls to an operation staff which is located outside the country and was quite useless. Lastly, no refund was given.

    Loved it!
We had an amazing time before the war broke out! both guides did a good job. We liked the Israel guide a bit better but over all a good tour.

    Masada at Noon?
Moshe was an excellent tour guide, knowledgable and open to many questions, I hadn't been to the Dead Sea in 20 years and it was sad to see its deterioration and the beach was kind of gross but so it is. My only real criticism was the less-than brilliant decision to tour Masada at noon, but we had a cloudy day and so it was tolerable.

It was an amazing experience (01.10.2023-10.10.2023) but our trip was interrupted by the palestinian terror against israel. The tourist israel group handled the situation very professional. And i thank everybody that helped us. (the tourist israel group, the embassy ect.) and don’t forget to take some extra cash with you. Yours truly Marko Bilusic

    Horrible experience.
My journey was adjourned because of the sudden attack from Gaza on Oct 7. The cancellation of the walking tour that day was not informed immediately.

    Outbound expeditor was not there
The outboud expeditor was not at the location specified. We had booked both the trip to the airport and expeditor via Tourist Israel. We did not get a refund for the outbound expeditor. The inbound expeditor was excellent.

    Touist Israel is HORRIBLE!
We only had 3 hours to explore the entire site. Ridiculously long, hot, crowded bus ride. 60 people in our group. FAAAAR too many!

    A wonderful cultural experience
It was an excellent cultural trip. A little tiring on the way back from Petra because it was a 7 hour journey, arriving at 02.00 am and the next trip at 7.15 am. Good guides, friendly and knowledgeable.

As a female solo traveler, this was the best tour company I could find. I did all my tours while staying at the Old City with them and I cannot complain. I was able to get a female guide on my first tour and it was a blast. Thank you again for making my week stayed in Jerusalem one that I will not forget.

Prior to booking, I contacted Tourist Israel to confirm the itinerary of this trip and was assured that Petra would be 7 hrs on day two rather than 5 hours on day one (there had been border issues in July, but my trip ended in August). After spending one hour in a gift shop outside town we ultimately had less than 4 hours in Petra and rushed through it. It is a very large and fascinating complex. There were no issues with early closure at the border on 1st August so there was no reason to reduce the schedule, nor were there any issues outside of Tourist Israel's control.

On arrival in Wadi Rum staff were not made aware that I was vegan (confirmed by Tourist Israel in booking receipt) and there was only cold plain pasta available.

When I contacted Tourist Israel I was informed they would investigate internally. After a few days I received an email accepting responsibility but offering 20% off a future booking rather than a partial refund. This is not an option for me as I have already left Israel, which I made clear in my original email. I have since received no further reply to my emails.

$399 plus visa costs for less than 4 hours in Petra after 10 hours in a bus and an hour compulsory stop in a gift shop, no food options and terrible response to after sales customer emails (very prompt prior to accepting my money though). I paid premium rates hoping for a relaxed trip to Jordan; I would have done much better to travel independently. I would strongly recommend using alternative companies.

Shalom Darryl, We appreciate you sharing your experience, Please note that your feedback has not gone unnoticed, we’re sorry to hear your experience didn’t match your expectations. Indeed your trip ended at the beginning of August just when the restrictions at the border started to loosen up, it was sad to us to hear that restrictions still affected your trip. We passed along your vegan meals request to our suppliers in Jordan, and we were sad when we heard that the different salads and hummus, (the vegan options in the area) were not enough for you. Thank you for posting a review and we’re sorry to hear that your trip was not up to standards. You are a valued traveler to us, we hope to be of service to you on your next trip

Petra was great, but the tour was unprofessional and did not follow the itinerary advertised.

Crossing the border took 2 hours…but more because of waiting for the various tour members to arrive from different origins rather than due to the actual border crossing.

There were 42 on the bus tour which was much more than expected. 500ml water was provided, and that was the only free water given during the whole trip.

Aqaba was a waste of time - rather than being dropped off at the market for some free time (as per the itinerary) we were taken to a gift shop, then forced into a restaurant pay extra for a buffet lunch. We asked if we can go and explore the town but this was dismissed.

We then drove to Wadi Rum, via another gift shop, and went on a jeep tour which was decent.

The camp was depressing. It is about as unauthentic as you can imagine - sleeps approximately 150-200, the food is served in a large refectory. The food itself was ok, but the entertainment was blasting music whilst 5 men shuffled around linking arms.

The next morning, despite leaving on time and not much in the way of traffic we arrived to Petra at 12pm (rather than the advertised 9.30am). We did stop at a gift shop on the way…of course. The bus for day 2 had changed and was absolutely filthy.

Petra itself was great. Although we basically had 4 hours to rush round as much as possible and it was a challenge to get to the Monastery and back within the time constraints (not the 6.5 expected).

We were then slightly late to the border, the crossing itself was quite efficient, although we then had to wait almost an hour for the bus to leave. We were scheduled to arrive in Tel Aviv around 23:30 as “transfers to tel aviv are approximately 4 hours”….I write this review at 23:30 still almost 2 hours away from Jerusalem, and even further from Tel Aviv. I will be lucky to reach my hotel by 3am.

So for 4hrs in Petra, I’m sad to say it’s just not worth the 60 hours we spent travelling and visiting tourist trap shops. If someone offered me the trip for free, I wouldn’t go. Enjoy your time in Israel and visit Jordan separately if you want to see Petra.

Dear Samuel, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, It saddens us to hear that your expectations of the tour did not meet. Our team is committed to minimizing the time spend at the border, we are sorry to hear that this commitment was not reflected during your time at the border. Kindly note the guided tour portion in Petra will have a maximum of 25 passengers however transportation may be with more passengers. Transportation may be shared as larger vehicles are more comfortable and accommodating. Lunch and beverages are not included, as indicated on the website, however as a courtesy, our representatives might provide you with water at no charge before your tour. We would like to add as well that the timings of the itinerary of our tours to Jordan are approximate as shown on the website before making a reservation and stops at establishments allows a restroom break which is mandatory by the Tourism Law in Jordan. Our sincerest hope is that you enjoyed your time in Jordan overall, we are looking forward to seeing you again to make your next experience with us a better one, Have a nice day!

I'll start with the cons

The driver from Jerusalem to the Jordanian border was terrifying. the driver was texting while driving (a fellow passenger took photos of this) He was speeding, tailgating and unsafely passing other vehicles on curves.

The required arrival time of 3am is ridiculous. You will need too tired to actually enjoy anything.

The stop in Aqaba is dumb and a waste of time. Only 2 people signed up to do any of the overpriced extra activities so we had to kill time by driving to a fort no one wanted to see

The restaurant they take you to is way overpriced. Some of us walked down the road and went to a different restaurant which was fabulous and much less expensive.

A lot of time spent doing nothing

Wadi rum is not actually a jeep ride but a ride in the back of a pick up truck with benches. It was OK.

Speaker was blown on the bus so we could not hear much of what the tour guide said.

Not enough time at Petra, which is the whole reason we are there.

The pros

Our Martian tent was pretty awesome and clean.

The food was decent

Our guide, Ahmed, really did seem to make an effort and was happy to answer questions he really wanted everyone to have a nice time.

The staff at the camp were all very friendly and helpful

What an incredible trip! Going into this trip we were super concerned about being stuck wasting lots of time at the border or waiting for logistical reasons and not spending enough time actually touring but that was simply not the case. The border crossing was handled super professionally and we felt that the entire trip was so well run. The one complaint we had was that the first day when we had free time for lunch to choose where we wanted to eat we were taken all together to a fancy expensive restaurant where the food was sub par and we weren't even given menus we were just sorta handed things. We would have much preferred being dropped at the strip mall we were taken to to exchange money after lunch which had dozens of small falafel stands and coffee shops to eat at instead. As a celiac I struggled to eat but did bring a lot of snacks with me so I was okay it was just a little sad because I paid all that money for the meals and watched as everyone else ate but other than the food situation the trip was phenomenal and our guide was super kind and knowledgable!

Our driver, Mustafa, was excellent. Tour was overbooked so we were in a minivan and missed out on all the tour guide information. Communication was subpar, so there was often confusion of what we were doing next, where we were meeting, and what was included in our tour cost. That said, Wadi Rum and Petra are both must-sees! But Tourist Israel could tighten things up to make the experience that much better.

The tour was very organized, it has multiple transfers but instructions are really easy to follow and there will be representatives from each border to assist the crossings. The highlights would be the desert safari at Wadi Rum, overnight camp at one of the camps (we stayed at luxury rum magic, they offer camel rides and other activities) sunset and sunrise from this camp. I personally liked the food offered as it was a new experience. And of course, to visit Petra's archaeological sites which is really famous and one of the seven wonders. The price was actually worth it, knowing that it includes all the transport, accommodation and meals. Our guide Methqal is really friendly, fun, knowledgeable and explained everything really well, there are a lot of things you would know from him that you cannot easily find in the internet. Our driver Mohammad ensured our safety along the road and drives really carefully. The tour wouldn't be successful and fun because of them both. People in Jordan are really friendly and accommodating. All worth the 2 day and 1 night adventure.

What a wonderful trip this was! Reading some of the reviews for this tour, I was a bit apprehensive but i was an amazing experience !
Lets start with our guide Methqal, He was so knowledgeable with an excellent communication. We were informed at all time about our itinerary and places we would stop at and visit. He was very professional, friendly and could answer all the questions we had.
The jeep excursion of Wadi Rum was a real highlight for us. The place us stunning and we had time to stop several times, climb rocks and sand dunes to admire this stunning scenery ! Magical!
The bedouine camp was great, we had upgraded to a martian tent and we loved it! The food was not great for the dinner but we had a very good breakfast. We took a camel excursion to see the sun rise over the Wadi Rum desert and this was also fantastic !
The visit of Petra on the second day was also a delight! Such a beautiful place and Methqal guided us through the Sik for 1 hour explaining the history about Petra. Very interesting. We then spent 3 hours of free time to visit Petra, it was perfect. The return was quick and efficient. Both border crossings to go and to come back were very well managed. The buses we had in Israel and in Jordan were very comfortable and the drivers especially Mohammed in Jordan, were great.
I cannot recommend more this tour. I just wish I could have stayed an extra night to see more of Petra. Thank you Tour Israel 🙏🏼

Awesome tour! Well organized and made border crossing and transportation easy and seamless. Our tour guide Adnan was so great and went above and beyond for us. One of the people in our party had a birthday while we were in Jordan and he even helped us celebrate and organized a small birthday celebration! Other highlights included the jeep tour through the desert and an hour and a half camel ride excursion -- way better than just hopping on a camel to Would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit Petra and Wadi Rum!

Such an incredible tour. Our guide Nizar was so knowledgeable about the area, kept us on time and answered all our questions. We were picked up in Tel Aviv had a long bus ride but it was comfy and had plugs. We stopped for coffee and restrooms along the way. Border crossing was easy and nice to have guides help us. A new bus picked us up in Aqqabat. This bus has wifi but no plugs so plan ahead. We went to Petra and it was a about 5 mile minimum was but sooo stunning. Lots to buy and the guide makes sure you won’t be scammed. We then saw a beautiful sunset back to camp. Dinner was great and they played music. Comes with an optional camel ride for $20 and then u go into the wadi rum desert on jeeps. We then took bus back to border. It’s a lonnnnnnnng day and tiring trip for sure but worth it and makes sense with the long drive time from Tel Aviv. We got dropped off at Jerusalem which was nice. Highly reccomend Nizar as your guide.

This was an amazing 2 day trip as part of the Ultimate Israel 8 day trip. The Bedouin Camp in Wadi Rum was a taste of heaven. The bedroom was so comfortable and the food delicious. We opted to go snorkelling in the Red Sea on a yacht and what a fabulous experience. In my late 50s I had never snorkelled before but I felt so safe with the Tourist Israel guided I braved it and loved it. The transfer over the border was meticulously organised and the female guide who joined our bus on the Israel side was exceptional, giving us very clear instructions so that we knew exactly what to do. I would recommend this company without reservation.
