There's no question that Ron was one of THE highlights from our two-week trip to the Middle East. We cruised to Israel via a Norwegian Cruise and I booked a full-day tour of Jerusalem/Bethlehem and the Dead Sea. My friends and I wanted the full Holy Land experience with perspective from Judaism, Christianity and Islam and Ron delivered. He was incredibly informative, honest about the political and religious tensions and open about his own life experiences. We left our trip with more than photos and amazing memories to share. We left with a life-long friend that I have stayed in touch with and will continue to do so. Ron is the absolute best. I adore him. You will too. He's smart, funny, and eager to give you the most comprehensive tour possible.

We spent two days with Ron. His seemingly knowledge and boundless enthusiasm for his subject are infectious and inspiring. He explained the centrality of Jerusalem to each of the Christian faith, Islam and Judaism whilst also sharing fascinating details we would have overlooked without him. We all came away with a much better understanding of the historical tensions which have given rise to today’s conflict . Ron really brought Masada to life for us, leaving us with great respect for both its architect and its conquerors! I cannot recommend Ron highly enough- you could not have a better guide.

This was my family’s second experience with Ron and he surpassed our greatest expectations! Our schedule was very specific for parts of three days and Ron did an excellent job of packing our limited time with amazing experiences. He took the time to get to know each of us to tailor our itinerary in a way that had something for everyone. Beyond all of the wonderful touring, though, what I enjoy most about Ron is the time we spend talking. He is full of historical knowledge and context, and very aware of current events not just in Israel but throughout the world. He presents information in a very unbiased manner and allows the listener to draw their own conclusions. By the end of our stay Ron felt like a member of our family. And, he skillfully managed to incorporate my friends and their families into several of our excursions, and he also provided excellent contacts to assist us and some friends with various logistical needs throughout our stay. We were lucky to have Ron to ourselves for three days!

The best of the best! My husband and I visited Israel in late September and stayed in Tel Aviv for a short 4 days. While in Israel, it was an absolute must for us that we visit major landmarks and areas of the country but had very little time to do so. I travel often and do quite a lot of research on tours and tend to avoid larger groups as it doesn’t allow much freedom to explore to your personal interest. Our goal was to visit Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and the Dead Sea in one day trip, which quickly proved challenging to find any tour that accommodates across the major travel booking sites (group or private). I stumbled on “Tours By Locals” and wrote a few of the guides on my desired itinerary, including Ron. All responses back apart from Ron noted they could not accommodate and would require 2 days of booking, which we simply could not do based on our time in Israel. Ron responded with a detailed suggested itinerary; confident we could make the (3) stops happen within a full day tour. From the moment Ron picked us up, we knew we had made a great decision in our booking – he simply exudes great energy, he is kind, extremely personable and professional. As we began our day with Ron, he provided detailed background of the day – and proceeded to tell us the history + significance of the places we would soon visit. Not only did he provide us the facts on the historical sites, but he also catered the background to the information we were most interested in understanding. He was so incredibly well rounded and unbiased as it related to discussing the history of each region which allowed us to have a real understanding of the intersection of faiths and significance to each as we toured the surrounding areas. Beyond knowledge, it truly felt we were a good friend vs. a formal tour guide – we had fruitful discussions, never a one-way conversation, and thoroughly enjoyed his company. Prior to each stop he gave us background on what to expect, his suggested stops and should we have any further request – and during our time on the premise (i.e Jerusalem) it was clear he knew the best routes to navigate the big bus tours – it felt we were on paths that no one else knew about which allowed us to not be disrupted by crowds and feel the true essence of the grounds. I simply cannot say enough about how wonderful Ron L was as a tour guide – and left the trip feeling we had made a long-term friend. I would highly recommend him to anyone traveling to Israel, there is no doubt I will when we visit again.

Ron Lev was an excellent guide. We had been to Israel before so we wanted to some off the path sights. Ron was great leading us through them. Just the right amount of knowledge without hovering. And even more importantly, he is a lovely person to spend time with!

Our travel agent arranged Ron and we were so lucky. He took us everywhere but mixed things up as he heard what we liked and changed the plans as needed. This is a complex and interesting country. His guidance and insight was priceless. He prepared us for each visit and was always on point. You will not be disappointed!

Where do I begin? We were assigned Ron by our travel company on our recent trip to Israel. We met as complete strangers and left as friends for life. Ron’s depth of knowledge, history combined with his ability to quickly “read” his audience and know exactly how to direct, manage time and create a one of kind experience is simply unbeatable. The three of us, my husband, 16 yo daughter and I, were all thrilled with the experiences Ron arranged. He found a balance between my husband’s love of history, religion and politics, my love of shopping and exploring new places and our 16 yo who is an artist and enjoys hands on experiences. Ron also introduced us to places to eat, foods and experiences that can only be had with a private guide who is well connected. We enjoyed lunch in a private home of a Druz family, a culinary tour of the markets in the Old City of Jerusalem, road side stands with the best falafel you’ve ever tasted and fine dining in local faves. Ron kept us moving and yet, we never felt exhausted or too hot. He kept an eye on all of us, listened carefully, anticipated our needs, got to know us and taught us a new word- “Yalla,” which he used often to say let’s go and kept us smiling! Go to Israel. Meet Ron and have the time of your life. As Ron said when we first met, “there’s never a right time to go to Israel,” just go!
