We took two tours from Jerusalem on Sunday 28th November it was old Jerusalem and Bethlehem and the 30th Massada and The Dead Sea. My words to
The Manager of BeinHarim Tourist tours and Excursions.
We decided to visit Israel once your government opened the country to tourism at the beginning of November. It was not easy to co-inside excursions with our departure dates and be in SAFED on the Sabbath morning.
All your staff was very helpful but we must compliment Nir in particular. His professionalism and sound advice was instrumental in the perfect holiday we enjoyed.
Even the weather was great. It only rained on Wednesday our museum day!
Nir has à smile in his voice and one can detect the passion with which he does his job.
Because of the difficulty in finding excursions that were running on the days we needed: I also contacted other excursion operators in Israel and New York. We live in France.
I assure you none of them are in your league, some understood less of their products than I. One or two were at the limit of rudeness.
We enjoyed our two tours with your company but believe (from personal experience in hospitality) your ability to attract or train staff, especially those on the first line in contact with potential clients is the essence of good management. You are particularly blessed to have found Nir and created such a good team.
Sincere thanks.

What a great day I had with Zahi! My friends and I are from the US and instantly felt welcomed by Zahi’s expertise on the history of the tour and the ability for him to show us so much in such a short period of time. Aside from being super knowledgeable, Zahi was extremely personable and cared for all of the passengers on his tour. It would be remiss to miss a tour with Zahi, I highly recommend to anyone who is looking to see and learn about the Masada and Dead Sea!

We booked the day trip from Tel Aviv-Yafo to Masada and The Dead Sea. The pick up was on time and the driver very friendly. We were then dropped off at another point where all the other tourists got onto little buses to their chosen destinations. Our guide Zahi (shakeel) was really lovely, very friendly and good fun. He had amazing historical knowledge as he studies history and religion, very impressive. The guide was a professional driver, courteous to others and drove safely. We had a good schedule and didn’t feel overly rushed, there isn’t a lot to see and long distance to cover, but if the group help to be on time then you will see everything you need to. The bus was clean and comfortable and you can store a bag in it while at the attractions.
If you’re going to the Dead Sea you will need swim gear, a towel and flip flops, but can hire it all at the beach area if you need to. There are lockers for your belongings if you want to store them. Do not get the Dead Sea water in your eyes!!! Also avoid rubbing the mud on your face, if might feel good, but if it gets in your eyes I did warn you!

We would not recommend to attend this tour, as you spend 3 out 5 stops at annoying places (0 sea level stop in the middle of nowhere, factory shop, bad and mass-tourism restaurant). The tour guide was friendly, but unfortunately not experienced and so reading the lonley planet is more informative.
Neverthless visiting Masada and the dead sea is absoultly worth and you just need to find the right company, where you might go to Eni Geidi instead of visiting factory shops.

Dear Christoph, We are sorry that this was the nature of the tour experience for you. The Sea Level marking along the way is surely significant information for those first-timers who are understanding they are about to enter the lowest area on earth when you visit locations (this one is the most frequented in our country!!) Indeed after Covid where we were in lockdown for 2 years, we are thrilled that travelers have returned to visit in volumes to our country and its spectacular locations. There have always been few restaurants in this desert region (as you surely saw the landscape)...and some did not survive Covid, so the options where places cater for groups and volumes of travelers as a group, are very few at present and also have to be suitable to stop at along the way (without backtracking over 50kms!) We are more concerned about what you mention about our guide and will check into this. The nature reserve of Ein Gedi that you mention is for a different kind of tour and cannot be fitted into the schedule. Trekking in Ein Gedi cannot suit all travelers, regrettably. Sincerely, Bein Harim

Factory tourism at its worst! The guide was competent but very superficial and didn't even bother to show the most important parts of Masada, when I asked him where all the Jews committed suicide (which is hugely historically important) he did not know and my friend who lived here wanted to show me, but he was like come on, come on. The movie that told the story was dubbed with a stong American accent. So much for Israeli pride! The restaurant advertised was not what I was sent in any way shape or form, it was a cattle station baymari service with all other bus travellers and for 70 sheckles ( a full lunch) I got the most revolting options and overcooked to death. A vegetarian would not be happy and a vegan, don't even think about it! Dead sea (Kalia beach tourist trap) was an occupational health and safety area nightmare. If your reading this and you know any locals, tell them to set up their own local business as these factory tours are shameful, cheap and superficial. Ps. the driver was lovely

Dear Earthsuitlife, We are sorry this was the nature of your experience. We will certainly look into what you mention about the guide's competence and commentary that should be up to par. The Park's board made the film! We stop there for general viewing. The restaurant is a matter that is being dealt with. Since Covid many did not survive to reopen so we are called upon to have the restaurant stop where possible along the route. Yes, they cater to volumes and group tourism, an acceptable practice here. Matters of taste and preference must be taken up with the restaurant. Kalia beach has been seriously upgraded into a bustling resort, catering to all kinds of travelers. It is clear this is not what you expected. The few beaches with facilities along this entire coast are more or less the same. Glad you were satisfied with the driver. Sincerely, Bein Harim team

We began the day walking 15 minutes in the pouring rain to our "hotel pickup." From there we spent 45 minutes in a minibus picking up people around Tel-Aviv (a few of whom were very late) en route to the main tour bus depot. Although we enjoyed our time at Masada and the Dead Sea, we were disappointed that our tour guide consistently came 20 minutes late back to the bus, even though the whole group was on board waiting. As if that was not enough of our time wasted, he made us stop at two duty-free stores to listen to sales pitches so he could earn a commission. We did not pay all this money to listen to dead sea lotion infomercials. Clearly our time is not valued. We only spent a little over an hour at the dead sea. We ended the day the way we started, dropped off a 20-minute walk in the rain from our hotel. At least by then it was only drizzling...

Dear Kira, We understand your frustration because of unfavorable weather conditions. There has been unusually heavy rainfall this whole week countrywide. Your accusation is not appreciated as if we are to blame. Most people were very appreciative of our efforts under such conditions. Sorry that you chose to criticize us so harshly using false accusations - in fact, we pick up at all Tel Aviv hotels, only NO apartment address - clearly listed. And you were staying in a private apartment, Eilat street, 61 which is only 6 min away on foot from the closest pick-up location available at Florentin Hostel. The pick up is complimentary and is a free service, you could have arrived to the meeting point on your own instead of being picked up close to your accommodation by a minivan which had to collect other members of the group (who are sometimes 2-3 min late, yes, and this hampers the whole bus) on the way, as you booked a group tour, not a private one. We are extremely organized, it may not seem to you. We do stop at one shop, mainly for the bathroom! It is unlikely the guide was 20 minutes late when all the group was on board and we will certainly check with him, simply not in keeping with the schedule. The drop off is usually where the pick up was, if the weather conditions permit. We will review our transportation records to check where you were dropped off on 20, January. Regrettably, the rain does compound everything and people do get wet! It does demand some patience and appreciation that we are doing our very best to get everyone off as smoothly and quickly to their designated destinations. Service and high standard tour experiences is what we primarily invest all our energies in. 94% excellence on this platform indicates this. We will continue to do just this! Sincerely, Bein Harim Tourism Services team

The tour spent a lot more time waiting for people who are not punctual and horrible food choices.
We got combined tour of both English and Spanish so it moved even slower. Hotel pick up was better than drop off.
After all it was probably 6 hours of driving, 2 hr of waiting for people and 4 hrs of actual sight seeing.

Dear Road31, We are regretful to read this description of the tour. Travelers who come later and delay a whole group are a big problem. We state very clearly that tours are always in English and sometimes a second language if required for a certain number of travelers. The pace of a group tour is mainly determined by the group. Traffic as you should have mentioned is often the reason for a long drop-off or pickup. Clearly not the case with most of our operations. We are sorry that this was the kind of day you experienced. We hope that despite all this you were able to enjoy the sites. Sincerely, Bein Harim

We have been in Masada and Dead sea Tour with tour guide Mr Yoav Malachi. He's really professional, talkative and funny. He involves the group by explaining cultural topics with great passion. You do not feel a "number" among many tourists with him. His empathy and natural good hearted attitude makes him help everybody in any circumstances. He made us see a lot of things in scheduled time. We enjoyed our day tour with Yoav a lot. We strongly recommend Bein Harim Tours and their guide Yoav Malachi. Thank you Yoav from Barbara and Raffaele Bologna Italy

Me and my 23 year old son took the tour to Masada and the Dead Sea during Christmas week and had a great experience thanks to Hava the tour guide who went over and above expectations.
Hava shared the history and the details of the sights from both, religious and historic prospective which made it so interesting and fun. Hava was organized and took great care to keep us informed. She was clearly well connected and knew her peers in the places we visited which can be helpful especially when keeping to a schedule and make sure that each and everyone being dropped off in his/her hotel in a timely manner despite the traffic.
Thank you Hava , we would highly recommend you as we enjoyed your manner and skills together with your heart and soul that shine through .

Left our hotel at 6:30. Then we are taken to a park where people are divided up amongst several smaller vans according to tour types. However it’s been very disorganized. One van never showed up then instead we were taken to Jerusalem where we waited again for another van to come swap people around Was supposed to be a10 min diversion but ended up waiting an hour. Then yet another stop to drop off another couple to a different group. In summary it is 10:15 and we are just getting to our destination. A lot of vacation time wasted.

Dear Sherry, We are truly regretful that this has been the nature of your experience, however, van changes are sometimes required. It seems that something there was not right on this day at all and it will be investigated more in depth (the main office is aware of this), but it is for sure a most unusual occurrence. We are sorry for this. Pity you made no mention of how the rest of the day tour was to the spectacular location you visited. We hope you had the chance to enjoy them. Sincerely, Bein Harim team
