    Worthwhile Visit
This was my second visit to Petra so I will keep my comments to the tour itself. I traveled with my brother who had never been and he was justifiably impressed with Petra and the area. We were both extremally impressed by Tourist Israel's organization and keeping with the schedule. The bus arrived 15 min early to the pick up point and we left exactly on time. It does take time crossing the border but that is not on Tourist Israel and patience is needed. Once we crossed the border our guide and driver were waiting for us. They offered us each a cold bottle of water and sweet cookies. The guide's English was good and he was friendly. We had one rest stop (around 15 min) in each direction where you could purchase something to drink or souvenirs. Lunch was quite good at a local restaurant which was included in the price of the tour. We stayed on track and returned to the border to cross back into Israel with time to spare. The only negative I can mention is that when we crossed back we waited for a passenger that hadn't crossed back into Israel from a different Tourist Israel trip. Instead of sending us on our way and dealing with that separately we all waited for about an hour before they sent us on our way without the missing passenger. All in all, I would absolutely recommend Tourist Israel and the trip to Petra and would use them again in the future.

    Awful customer service
I do not recommend this this tour company. It should be a great experience instead it’s an awful customer experience with a company that seem to not care about their clients at all!

Great tour. Don’t hesitate to book
Was reluctant to wake up at 3 am with my family but it was well worth it- for the views, the cool weather and the lack of a crowd on Masada. It was a great day. Well organized, the guide was informative and friendly. Right amount of time in each location. Wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommend.

    3 Day to Egypt
Amazing trip thanks to Nasser our guide and Abbas the driver. I never took so many pictures in 3 days! Nasser was very kind and patient with us. He explained history and draw pictures to translate ancient texts. The driver slowed down for us to contemplate some scenery. Going to the National museum to see the mommies was quite fascinating. We will return but next time we will go by plane to have more time to enjoy the places and hopefully Nasser will be out guide again!

    Best Tour Agency in Israel
What an experience! It was my first time in Israel and Tourist Israel made it a point to be a memorable one. We went to Galilee, Nazareth, and Jordan River and we had the most amazing time with Avi, our tour guide and Mustafa, our driver. Avi is very knowledgable about everything we saw and everywhere we went. I really learned a lot during the tour and I wish I could have stayed longer in Israel. Plus points for Avi for giving us a glimpse of how the Torah is recited. I would definitely recommend Tourist Israel to my friends and relatives who are planning to go to Israel. They offer the most affordable yet worthy packages. The van/bus is high class and very comfortable. The places we went to are quite far from each other but because of how comfy the van is, I didn't mind the distance.

    Delicious food and great history!
Yael was our guide and she was fantastic! Not only was the food yummy, but we got a lot of history about Tel Aviv and about the Carmel market. We had 2 different juices, went to the famous "dancing Yemini's" for a kind of meat & veggie on this amazing puffy break that they bake right there in a special oven, then another roll up on bread but Morrocan style with shredded beef, then two giant bowls of hummus with lots of "mix-in's"- also fantastic, then what I would call panna cotta but it is Malabi here, milk pudding topped with candied cashews, pomegranates and coconut- needless to say, we were completely stuffed! Definitely do this tour and I hope you get Yael!

A wonderful and interesting day albeit long.
This was a very worthwhile trip to Jerusalem, our guide Sevin was kind, knowledgable and managed the group very well. It is a long day so go along knowing this especially if it is a hot day. The sites we visited were spectacular, and I felt we spent a good amount of time at each. I wasn’t that keen to be asked to go into a specific shop to buy things, regardless of how much they promise to reduce the prices. My only other comment is that the aircon in the bus was way too high, freezing cold!1

    Great customer service!
We booked a car for to and from the Tel Aviv airport to our hotel in Israel. They were punctual and easy to communicate with. Every time I emailed, them - even with a last minute change in time, they were quick to respond and were extremely efficient. We also booked a tour with them which was a tour of the old city of Jerusalem. It was just as efficient. I was so extremely impressed with their obvious concern for their customers. If I return to Jerusalem, I will definitely use this company.

    Old town Jaffa
I did the walking tour today and really enjoyed the old town. I noticed on Tripadvisor and Viator the description for this tour is incorrect, this is definitely a walking tour of old town Jaffa and it was really excellent and a nice small group too. I had to leave halfway through to get my flight but I wish I could have done the whole tour. The guide was really helpful and knowledgeable, there was even time to look inside St Peter's Church and overall the pace was really nice. We passed other walking groups which were in my opinion too big in size, this was a great size group and I'd definitely recommend Tourist Israel. Thanks for the great tour!

    Airport Transfer
Airport pickup was great. The map they sent me explained how to get to driver. The driver Rahim was great. When booking try to put a time that estimates customs and baggage pick up and delays. (Our flight got delayed 2 hours from Newark). They will charge extra if you exceed 1 hour and 15 minutes after the time you put for pickup

    The tour was amazing!
The tour was amazing! I enjoyed the day from the start when Tourist Israel staff waited next to the bus to welcome us, through the whole tour with Oded that was knowledgeable and funny. We visited many Christian sites and heard stories about them. Oded was patient with the group and was able to coordinate the times with the driver perfectly throughout the whole tour I highly recommend booking this tour with Tourist Israel, mostly for people who do not like to walk much.

Life Threatening Experience With This Company... Avoid Them!
We used the VIP airport service and transfer to and from Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv. The first transfer on our arrival day from the airport to Jerusalem was just fine. The second transfer from Jerusalem to TLV was an abyssmal nightmare. The driver that we were told was picking us up from our hotel did not respond when I repeatedly reached to him via WhatApp and by phone. After the scheduled pick up time I called the office number and was told there was another driver. He was a little late, but that was just the beginning of our adventure. The driver looked like he was drunk or drugged or both. He kept drifting into other lanes on the highway and nearly caused a couple of accidents. On 3 seperate occasions drivers in other cars had to swerve and lay on their horns just to avoid a crash. When we arrived at the airport he was supposed to wait with us until a VIP concierge met us and took us through airport security. Instead of waiting with us, he proceeded to get into a verbal argument with an airport police officer because his car was blocking the road. After a 3 minute shouting match before the police officer could write him up and give him a ticket, he jumped back in his car and took off leaving us in the middle of the road with our suitcases trying to locate our VIP rep. I reached out to the company to ask for return of the money that I paid for the transfer and they refused, but did offer me a credit to take one of their tours in the future. If they think that I will entrust my life and the life of my family to anyone associated with their company again at any time in the future they are greatly mistaken. There are plenty of other companies that offer VIP service and transfers in Israel and I strongly suggest you seek them out rather than use this one.

The communication prior to boarding the bus in Jerusalem was good. Once we boarded the bus, the communication was very poor. The bus broke down at one of the rest stops in Israel. The passengers were not notified on why we were just sitting there. This caused us to be very late to Petra. Once at Petra, our guide lost an entrance ticket and questioned everyone numerous times to see if we had the lost ticket. This caused another delay in seeing Petra. The guide sent us on our own to explore Petra! We paid for a guided tour but did not receive any explanation of what we were seeing. My friends and I were uncomfortable with how we were transferred to our hotel for the night (luggage thrown in the back of a pick-up truck while we took two separate taxis. The hotel was fine, and the breakfast buffet was fine. The bus ride back to Jerusalem was delayed while we waited for another group of people to get to the bus. The bus driver in Israel (the same guy both ways) was adequate but drove extremely slow. (So slow at times that other tour busses and a loaded heavy equipment flatbed truck passed us!)

The Jordanian guide was great as was the Jordanian bus driver. On the Israeli side communication was non existent we had no idea where we were or what we were doing and relied on one of the passengers to translate for us at the border. We spent hours driving to drop other people off at their overnight camp so that our day in Petra was reduced to four hours. With a little thought and a whole heap of better communication this could work but this company is dreadful. The driver was half an hour late. We were left at the Israeli border on the way home for 45 minutes with no communication. We were nearly separated as a group by the bus driver between two buses. It was farcical. Go on the trip just don’t go with these guys. Drive to Eilat and get a trip to Petra that doesn’t involve money saving scams

This company is rude and uncaring. After a mishap with my pre-booked taxi, I arrived a few minutes late. I was on the phone with the company giving them second by second information. Just as I arrived, and told the person on the phone I had arrived, the bus left without me. It literally drove off with me waving at it, leaving a single woman alone in the dark Jerusalem streets at 2am. Whilst I do accept full responsibility for my misadventure, the way the company handled this was appalling. They were defensive and rude. No alternative plans or refunds were offered. In the end pretty glad to have not spent 48 hours with such uncaring, unfriendly people. Who knows, they might have just left us all in the desert!

Hi EmmaBullSydney, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you were not able to join the tour as planned. When booking a group tour it is important to arrive promptly to avoid delaying the entire group-we do ask our travelers to arrive early and state in our confirmation emails that we cannot wait for late arrivals, as this can cause major delays for the whole group for the rest of the tour. As per your email correspondence to us, you arrived 15 minutes late and the bus did wait 10 minutes but then had to leave in order to stick to the schedule. Our representative was waiting at the pickup point another 15 minutes after the bus left and did not see you arrive. We understand this is a frustrating situation but this is why we ask customers to arrive 15 minutes before the departure time, and our cancelation policy clearly states that refunds are only given if a request for cancelation is received at least 24 hours before the tour departure time. As we said, we would be happy to have you join us on the tour at a later date should you return to Israel in the future and this offer does not expire.

Very bad experience, trip was disorganized, left us at the border without proper instructions, we waited several hours and then had to re-cross the border because we needed to purchase additional travel tickets. Hotel was not as advertised (supposed to be 4 star, more like 2 star). Finally they made no effort to return my package that I left on the bus from Petra to Wadi Rum. They pretend to be responsive but they are deliberately deceptive in their business practices. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This review is specifically for the bus, immigration, and logistics aspect of the "Petra from Israel" two day tour through TouristIsrael.com. Trip taken in December, 2022.

The Petra Archeological Park (PAP) itself is beautiful, and well-worth two days of exploration to see the sites and appreciate the history. Petra an amazing place to visit.

It's important to understand that this two day trip from Israel makes sense if you are already in Israel and want to see Petra in a few days. Other options for exploring Petra include flying directly to Aman, etc.

This is a very long trip, (12+ hours from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem until you actually enter the PAP), so doing it in one day would be very tiring.

All of the staff, drivers, and guides are very nice, but in my experience, there was a big disconnect as they pass you along from stage to stage. Each staff member understands their part in the process, but not necessarily what is coming next, or the big picture. If you are someone who wants all the details to be fully known in advance, and does not have much flexibility, it will feel very uncertain and anxiety-producing. If you can go with the flow, it all works out (at least it did in my case.)

Here was my experience:

Day 1-
3.00 a.m bus pick-up in Jerusalem at David Citadel Hotel.

3:15 departed hotel. Bus ride south to Eilat for several hours, with two rest stops at 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. for bathroom and to purchase snacks, drinks. Bus driver was very nice, but did not speak English.

8 a.m. Arrived Yitzhak Rabin Crossing in Eilat. Aaron got on the bus and explained the process and paperwork for leaving Israel.

In reality, some steps were quite different than what Tourist Israel emails had said. example: Joran Visa QR code was not needed. Israel departure paperwork could be purchased by credit card or cash. (Email said that only cash would be expected.)

Aaron explained how to walk across border through security, etc. to Jordan side and to wait for Ramsey, the Jordian guide on the other side. For 1+ hour, Ramsey was nowhere to be found, which made 25 people very anxious to be waiting in "no man's land," outside of Israel, but not yet "in" Jordan. Eventually Ramsey appeared and helped us clear immigration, and by 9:45 local time, we were boarding buses on the Jordan side.

Jordanian guide Methkul (sorry if mispelled) boarded the bus, and was an EXCELLENT guide. Very knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and informative. His English skills were perfect.

One stop for bathroom and food on the Jordan side at about noon.

2 p.m. finally arrived PAP.

2 - 4:30 Explored the Treasury (most famous site in Petra) and had a little time to walk around.

Buffet dinner at local restaurant, "Sandstone," and then those who were on the single day tour boarded the bus for another 10-12 hours back to Israel.

Strongly recommend staying one night, so you can explore Petra a second day, rather than just 3 hours on a single day tour...

The tour staff did not seem to know until the last minute what hotel they had booked me into, but eventually they informed me.

Day Two

Day two of Petra allowed more time to explore on own through 5 p.m., with a similar ~10 hour bus trip to Eilat, border crossing, and return to Jerusalem.

Do not use this company, they will steal your money! I booked a tour with Tourist Israel which offered a full refund on cancellation. Since I prepaid for a trip which did not occur, when the trip was cancelled due to COVID they promised a refund. They are ignoring my calls and emails and I have still not received a refund. They keep telling me things like 'you will get your refund in 2 weeks' but it never comes. Terribly unethical operators that are either stealing customers' money or trading while insolvent. Either way, avoid them!

I have put a complaint in with the Israeli Consumer Protection And Fair Trade Authority so hopefully some of the other customers with similar experiences get some justice.

I´d like to provide you with the facts of these disastrous evening. We‘ve booked a overnight Tour to Petra with a stay in a Martian Dome (extra 360 USD). The first desaster was the bordercrossing from Israel to Jordan, which takes more than 4 hours!!! in fact of very bad organisation of the „tour guide“ which we payed 60 USD extra/each!!

After finishing the Jeep tour a driver brought my husband, me and another couple to Aladin Camp. A manager brought us to a reg. tent (#17) where we should stay overnight.
We complained immediately, because we´ve booked specifically a Martian tent for extra $240,- and not a reg. tent.

But it was obviously visible, for all involved people, that the Martian domes are still work in progress (see pictures attached 1-…). So the manager told us to wait for a while, he will clear the misunderstanding… In the meantime another hour passed, it was cold, we where tired (getup at 1 a.m in the morning), so I told to the manager if it is possible to wait inside a tent till the situation is cleared. We entered a regular tent #17, which had no heating and no water (video 1) available.
Angry and frozen we´ve made our way to the dinner (food was ok). At 21:30 o´clock the manager came and told us the Martian domes are now ready prepared for us. Honestly - we thought a driver will bring us to another camp, but no!! He went with us to the Martian Dome construction side - it was like a bad movie!

With difficulty, two Martian Domes where obviously prepared for the night: heating, light and two bedsides and our luggage was already brought into the domes… without asking us! It was late and we saw no chance to get another reasonable accommodation for to night. So we stayed.

The Dome was an absolutely NO GO!!
_No water - neither cold or warm!
_the floor was completely wet and dirty with sawdust and dirt. I had to wipe all the floor with toilets paper before we went in… our luggage was getting wet an dirty of this.
_it smelled of paint, glue and solvents, we both had headache in the morning!!
_the price tags where still on the equipment. Obviously somebody went quick to IKEA and bought this short time before

In the morning there was water available - but just ice-cold. If we tried to take a shower, during seconds the whole tent was flooded, because the shower wasn’t seald up. So we quited this project immediately and made our way to leave this place as quick as possible. All in all one of the badest experience in my lifetime!!!

Hi patronabavarie, thank you for your feedback. We are sincerely sorry to hear about your negative experience traveling to Jordan with us. We strive to give our customers the best experience and make sure everything is arranged properly for overnight tours. We have looked into this with our operators in Jordan and see that, as you said, your upgrade was not in acceptable condition. We will be refunding everything you paid for your accommodation upgrade. We will continue to be in touch via email to ensure that you receive a full refund on this. As for the fee when crossing the border, we clearly state in all of our tour descriptions and confirmation emails that customers will pay a $60 visa fee and $65 border fee in cash when crossing the border and that this is not included in the tour price. If you were charged anything in additional on top of these please, let us know via email.

Everything went according to plan. Pick-up from Jerusalem was on time. Border crossing to Jordan and back was fine. Accommodation in Jordan was superb. Petra is breathtaking. All my queries and requests pre-travel were dealt with to my satisfaction. Our group felt safe throughout. We had a wonderful time. In fact one of the most memorable trips we've ever had. Thanks to Tourist Israel/Tourist Jordan. Excellent value for money.

The guide was very professional and the logistics at the border was managed very professionally. These 2 days were very intense but i felt no rush in visiting all these gorgeous places. The unexpected boat trip in the red sea added a huge value to this tour. If i think that in 2 days i visited Petra, enjoyed the Wadi Rum and swam in the Red Sea i cannot even believe! 2 days worth 10 years. I would recommend to all and the price is fair.

This is truly one of the best tours I’ve ever taken! The 2 days tour is the perfect amount of time to visit Petra. The bus left right on time and crossing the border went smoothly with the help of the staff. We made a 4 hours stop in Aqaba to visit on our own. Then, the real adventure began! We checked in at Bait Ali Camp, a tent in the desert! Amazing! You have a table, 2 single beds, a fan and you can charge your phone! Wait, you even have wifi in the tent! Then, they take us for a Jeep ride at sunset in the desert which was undeniably one of the best rides of my life! Going down a huge sand dune at full speed was so exciting ! Then, the dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious! You should see the stars at night! Finally the next day is Petra day! It is magical! The lunch provided is delicious and sustaining.
