This was an incredible tour, there was enough time to climb Masada, we did that in a good pace and spirit in less than 30 minutes.
Next, we enjoyed spectacular sunrise view from the history woven hilltop of Masada. Ein Gedi was very refreshing and Death see an interesting experience. We have returned to Jerusalem at about 13.00, and felt energized and ready to some more action. In a half day we experienced more than normally we do in 2 - 3 days of regular vacation.

We attended the Masada, Ein Gedi and Dead Sea tour with Tourist Israel. My family and I have traveled to many countries and this was by far the WORST experience that we have ever had in our travels.
Firstly, we booked and paid for the 3 AM sunrise tour, 13 hours before the departure time, we received an email that our tour was canceled due to cancellations from other tourists. While extremely disappointing, I understand that they run a business and rather than continuing the tour that we paid for, they gave us the option of attending a later tour or a full refund.
Unfortunately, rather than disappoint my family, we agreed to go on the later tour, which you no longer allowed us to hike in Masada since it was after sunrise.
Thirty minutes into our ride to Masada, we drove through an armed checkpoint, and it was not explained to us that we were entering the West Bank.
Our Tour Guide, Amir, acted as a shyster by strong-arming us through his words to divert the tour to go to his “friends” restaurant claiming we would save a lot of money by not eating at the Dead Sea which was the planned destination.
Knowing that he then accomplished his goal of diverting the group to this restaurant where I am sure it was a side hustle that he got paid by his friend to take us there, he rushed the rest of the trip.
We were given a total of 45 minutes to hike the entirety of Ein Gedi and then we were hurried back on the bus. When we got back on the bus, he asked us who would rather save money and have a better meal by going to his “friends” restaurant or who would rather eat at the Dead Sea. At most, 10% of the hands were raised to go to the restaurant and then he explained over and over again how we would save money and through this act of intimidation, hands started going up. Even though there was still 20% of the trip that did not want to go, he pleaded with them and publicly shamed them to the rest of the group to go because now other people had agreed.
It was not described to us what the next horrible and dangerous experience was going to be, and for my teenage children, it was about to be one of the scariest and most traumatic experiences of their young lives.
We left Ein Gedi and drove through another armed checkpoint and only at that time did he describe that we left Israel, and entered the Palestinian territories, 12 hours after a cease-fire which ended the cross-border fighting where 1100 rockets were fired into Israel.
If we simply went to a restaurant on the other end of the border, that would be disappointing, but it would not make me feel as if I do now, which is that I have no choice but to besmirch the company on every public Internet forum available to me so that another family does not go through this experience.
We drove approximately 40 minutes through bombed out villages where my family and I were scared for our safety and feared for our lives. As we got closer to his “friends restaurant”, there were multiple signs, of slain “freedom fighters/martyrs“ hanging from buildings and lamp posts.
Throughout this 45 minute unplanned and likely unauthorized drive many other passengers were visibly nervous and speaking loudly that this was not what they signed up for. We were scared, and were very much in danger.
The area felt as if we were in a bombed out war zone and I am fully adamant that the intention of Amir was that he could make money from his friends restaurant in order to bring us there.
After arguing with the driver, Yangaleh, Amir stayed on the bus, and we were driven to the Dead Sea, with four other guests who also felt in danger and defrauded. The driver tried his best to tell us that we were safe so that he did not have to make the drive, which he obviously did not want to do as he was screaming at Amir that he would not do it.
On top of all of this, this unplanned diversion had us leaving the final destination of the dead sea over an hour later than planned which would make us very late for our next activity so we were forced to be dropped off on the side of the highway, in the West Bank, where we had to order a taxi to get to our next activity.
I’m not sure if Tourist Israel was aware of this act, but if so, it was not explained to us in advance, and they should be ashamed of their company for doing so. If they were not aware of this deviant act, then there certainly should be consequences.
Even now, a week after the trip, my family is visibly upset and uncomfortable and likely will be for the balance of our trip. We cannot trust Tourist Israel as a company and feel as if we were defrauded and that they put our lives in danger.
I reached out to the company explaining the totality of our experience & after a week i received NO RESPONSE.

Amazing experience. The bus showed up on time. The tour guide was knowledge, friendly, professional. Really an overall great experience. (Also did a tour with another group the next week and the contrast was pretty crazy and made tourist israel really stand out as the only company to travel with!) Really highly suggest.

An absolute mesmerizing tour I will never forget! The pick up is quite early, but getting to watch the sunrise over the desert was incredible and so worth it. Everything went to plan and we were very happy with the quality of service. We got to the top of Masada exactly on time to watch the sunrise. We also had enough time to walk around and take photos. The visit at Ein Gedi was very interesting and I'm glad it is included in the tour, as I wouldn't have thought of visiting it otherwise. Getting to float in the Dead Sea at the end was the perfect finish to the trip.
Highly recommend Tourist Israel!

Despite the beauty of the sites and the good combination of spots , I would not recommend this company. I paid in order to be able to see the sunrise on Massada and was very disappointed when our driver told us the road was close . The company didn't even notified us when we bought the tickets, that it could have been a possibility due to the weather condition. We then lost 2 hours in the middle of the road at 4am waiting for the road to open. Those 2 hours that we couldn’t get back and made us rush on every site we have to visit.
I tried to call the company to have explanations and at least a gesture or a refund but the only answer was that they are not responsible for any of this and that it was not their fault. Totally uncommercial of them ! Without even having a notification of those possibilities ! Very disappointing ! Go ELSEWHERE !

Hi Lavibu, thanks for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the situation with your tour. We know it is frustrating when something out of anyone's control, like the weather, has an effect on the tours. This normally does not happen, but we cannot predict the weather and are unable to notify anyone in advance of road closures or site closures. On this day, Masada was closed in the morning to weather conditions which we were not made aware of until the last moment. We wanted our customers to still be able to experience these amazing sites, and since everyone had already arrived for the tour we went to Masada as soon as it opened back up for the day. This is the same situation that would happen with any tour or tour company with such last minute closures.

The bus was late more than 2 hours, so I had to wait outside the hotel in the cold night and I finally didn't see the sunrise. Masada was amazing, but we had not enough time to enjoy it fully. Ein Gedi Nature Reserve was ok. We visited the northern part of the Dead Sea, with the muddy ground. The beach was a little dingy, sunbeds was cracked. For the price, the trip was average.

Hi AnnaB4529, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the bus was so late. We have looked into it and see that it was delayed because it broke down. Unfortunately, this is not something we have control over and we did our best to get the bus running and ready to pick up the group as soon as possible. We hope you still enjoyed the tour!

This tour can only be described as a taster experience, as commented by others our party of four would have liked longer at each destination to allow time to explore, sit, gaze and marvel at everything you see - words cannot describe the views from Masada or how your skin will feel after a mud bath and soak in the Dead Sea.
It's a self-guided tour, make sure you download the App for info on each destination though leaflets are available at Masada and Ein Gedi.
Only criticism was that the driver did not make it clear what time to return to the bus prior to transfer to each destination. I had to rely on others we travelled with for this very important fact and not all guests on our trip spoke English.

Hi Neil P, thank you so much for your feedback. As you said, there is unfortunately not enough time in the day to explore all three of these incredible and breathtaking sites in depth, but we are glad that you got such a great "taster experience" and we hope you are able to spend more time at all of these sites in the future! As for the issue with the driver, we will definitely look into it and use your feedback to improve future tours so that they run more smoothly. We hope to see you again!

Is it possible to take this turn in the first days of December? Would it be too cold or too rainy?
Would it be possible to stay in the Dead Sea on my own for a couple more hours and perhaps visit the Qumran Caves/Mar Jaris/Deir Hijleh? Or could these 3 sites be done from Jerusalem, starting around 6am?

Yes it is. Although i’m sorry I have no idea if you can get another bus to take you to Eilat. Maybe you should book a full pack taking you there the next morning with the same company.
I wish you to enjoy as much as I did.

Hello, At Masada could we get the cable car instead of doing the hike up?

Yes you can and after doing the hike I would recommend taking the cable car, especially in the summer. But you will have to take into account that their operating hours do start after sunrise (at least that was the case when I visited Masada).
