9-Hour Masada, Ein Gedi, and Dead Sea Tour from Jerusalem

Overview
Masada, the Dead Sea, and Ein Gedi are situated close to each other, but visiting them in a day from Jerusalem is difficult without a rental car. This day trip makes it easy and gives you free time at each to explore independently. Visit Masada’s ruins, enjoy Ein Gedi, and float in the Dead Sea. Transport and Dead Sea beach admission included, with everything else at own expense.
What to Expect
Start with early pickup in central Jerusalem and travel eastward by air-conditioned minibus toward Masada. Admire wonderful views across the Dead Sea—the lowest place on Earth—to Jordan’s mountains en route, and capture them on camera.

At Masada, hop out to explore the plateau independently. Enter the site (own expense) and ride the cable car (own expense) to the summit to stroll around the ruins—the remains of a Herodian fortress and site of an AD 74 Jewish rebellion.

Continue to Ein Gedi, a nature reserve situated near the Dead Sea. Head inside (own expense), explore the trails, gardens, springs, and pools alone, and, if you wish, refuel at the café (own expense).

Finally, visit a Dead Sea beach to float in the salty waters, bathe in the mineral-rich mud, or simply enjoy the sunshine and views. Your trip then ends with a Jerusalem drop-off.
