Overview
Enjoy the natural beauty and history of Masada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea on this self-guided, all-day tour. Early in the morning, head to the top of UNESCO-listed Masada, one of Israel’s most popular attractions, to see, perhaps, the greatest sunrise in the world. Bring a camera to capture the incredible view. Then, hike to one of the most beautiful places in Israel, the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, followed by a rejuvenating dip in the legendary Dead Sea. Transportation to and from Jerusalem plus printed guiding materials included.
What to Expect
This full-day (10-hours) tour begins with an early morning central Jerusalem pickup in an air-conditioned minivan. Enjoy a 1-hour trip through the Judean Desert, past biblical sites like the Inn of the Good Samaritan and Jericho, the oldest city in the world, along the way.

Stop at Masada, a UNESCO World Heritage site, located in the Judean Desert and situated on top of an isolated rock plateau overlooking the Dead Sea. Walk along the famous Snake Path to the summit just in time for a beautiful sunrise view. Aside from the breathtaking view, spend some time exploring the archaeological ruins here. It was built as a palace complex in the style of the early Roman Empire by Herod the Great, King of Judaea.

Travel back down the mountain on foot or by cable car and continue on to the beautiful Ein Gedi Nature Reserve. This is one of Israel’s premier hiking spots with a wide variety of landscapes, waterfalls and botanical gardens. Take a short hike along the springs, stopping to relax by the refreshing pools along the way. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase here as well.

Finally, spend some time relaxing on the beach at the Dead Sea. Feel years younger after applying mineral-rich black mud and floating or swimming in the ultra-salty lake water. It’s an experience unlike any other in the world.

The tour concludes here, where you'll board the minivan for a return trip to Jerusalem.

Great trip apart from the beach at the dead sea

Would have been 5 star if the beach at the Dead Sea had not been dirty and chaotic. Looked like it had been ploughed and cigarette ends everywhere. However the trip to Masada was just amazing and enough time there to do all you wanted...More

Very friendly & informativs staff

Despite the fact that it’s a tour without a guide, our driver was a history teacher and knew a lot about the places we visited! The usage of the app is very handy and communication from the tour is clear. Would recommend.

Quite an amazing experience, all in all. Early morning start is a bit brutal but totally worth it. Climb to Masada is a bit painstaking but the sight from up top during sunrise is marvelous. The Dead Sea is quite unique and same goes for...More

I'm not sure what you mean by voucher? Do you mean a ticket for this one day excursion? If that is the question, one can purchase a ticket on-line at the Trip Advisor page, or at the Abraham Tours website.

It's a public beach. Bring something to put your wet bathing suit in. Bring flip flops for hike from lockers/parking area down to beach. Depending on how strict you and your group stick to the schedule will determine time at... More
