The day started quite early in Tel Aviv, but from the moment everyone was on the bus the overall mood was quite lively. We drove to Jerusalem to collect a few more riders, in addition to our incredible tour guide for the day, Dan. We made our way out of Jerusalem and towards Masada, with Dan providing an insightful commentary skillfully interwoven with historical facts, cultural observations, and a decent amount of humour. Masada itself was breathtaking, lunch was tasty, and the 1hr dip into the Dead Sea was definitely a memorable / once in a lifetime experience. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Israel who wants to experience the country off the beaten path, but who also appreciate history and geographical wonders—Also, aim for Dan to be your guide (:

The day to Masada and the Dead Sea was great. Aaron Garcia, our tour guide was very informative and kept everyone entertained. Most also recognize the driver, he was very professional and never took any chances as I've seen other tour buses have. I do recommend Bein Harim Tours.

I booked this tour last minute end of February. I had not heard about Masada before joining this tour thus I was astonished to learn about its great history from our knowledgeable and humorous guide, Hava! The scenery atop the Masada cliff with beautiful views of the Dead Sea was awesome. Hava gave a very good recount of Masada's interesting facts while explaining to our small group what and where the incidents actually happened during the time of Herod the Great.

After Masada, we had lunch and ample free time to relax on the Dead Sea. The beach was crowded during our visit. This was expected as we had a perfect sunny day that time. There were shops selling souvenir items and plenty of Dead Sea products for those who failed to get from the Ahava factory shop at the start of the tour.

This tour is worthwhile. You get to visit 2 significant places, Masada and the Dead Sea, in one day. I enjoyed the views and sites without being rushed. Thanks to Hava and our skillful driver!

She is worthy of your favourable feedback for her professional efforts. We are indeed very happy that you have shared your pleasure with our services with others on this platform. Hopefully you will return soon to so much our country has to offer.

Masada is without doubt a “must see” spectacular site. The Dead Sea is an unforgettable experience. However beware that this is a very long day tour of 9hrs: taking into account the 1.5hrs set aside to visit Masada and 1.5hrs for the Dead Sea the remaining 6 hours was inefficiently used; 3hours 20 minutes driving time but 3 hours was lost on pickups and logistics. You will most likely be picked up in a minibus and transferred to a larger bus near the University. There were 40 people on our tour which was too large a group. The lunch stop time would have been better used for more time at Masada or the Dead Sea where there were other (and less pricey) lunch options.
The tour guide was ‘efficient’ with her explanations but we were very uncomfortable listening to personal opinions regarding the current tensions in Israel which weren’t helpful, and we didn’t think benefited the tour.

Dear Ginger, Thanks for this review. Indeed tour and time management is an important skill for all our guides. You can understand in high season (especially after Covid and lockdown of 2 years) when there is demand then tours are certainly run as large groups. This does not in any way deter from the locations visited in the commentary provided. Lunch stops are very few in this deserted region. We stop where it is convenient to cater to groups. We cannot go without a lunch stop and certainly cannot fit into a schedule a drive only for lunch but rather a restaurant on the way. We certainly will reiterate the manner and non-voicing of personal opinions. This is not acceptable. Sincerely; Bein Harim team

My husband and I participated at the Masada and Dead Sea tour on February 16. Our guide was Eric and we'd like to thank him again for the wonderful tour! He is simply great, it's easy to see that he loves his job and is enthusiast about sharing his knowledge. He speaks perfect English and Spanish and managed the tour perfectly in two languages. He is always ready to answer questions about history and culture, we learned a lot from him. Masada is a unique experience and we highly recommend to visit it with this organized tour because you will go back home with the feeling that you haven't just seen places but you also learned about them.
The bus was clean and comfortable, pick-up and drop-off times and places were respected, the timing was just perfect. Really recommended!

WOW!! thanks very much for this rave 5-star review of our tour and your guide Eric. He is most worthy of this favorable complimentary posting for his professionalism, wealth of knowledge and his fabulous engaging persona. He is highly skilled bilingually, managing capably guiding in both Spanish and English mother tongue, As u mention our travelers did not in any way feel compromised, not on information provided and not on quantity and quality of the day. As you wrote the locations visited were indeed spectacular, and it is great to read you came away with a meaningful and highly memorable tour experience to cherish. Your kind and sincere recommendation of our services is much appreciated by all at Bein Harim tourism. Hope to see you sometime soon again travel with us.

I enjoyed the Day Trip and Leo was a good guide. He tried to show us the right things in a pleasant way, for example inviting us to notice how dramatically the view changed outside Jerusalem: after the shortest time we were in the Judean Desert, and then in Masada. Again, after a few kilometers we were on the shores of the Dead Sea.

Masada is one of those bucket-list places. But bucket list visits can disappoint. Not so at Masada. It delivered. I was not prepared for the size and scope of the place or the ingenuity and skill of those that designed and built it.

Floating on the Dead Sea was just plain fun, and we had plenty of time there to enjoy the water.

The trip was organized well but the pickup was disconcerting. The bus was late, which I could understand, but no one at the pickup site knew anything about the trip, so I was concerned about being left behind. Once on the bus, however, we were greeted by a smiling, engaging, and cordial guide. I am not sure about some of his facts, however. For instance, there were no books about Jesus among the Dead Sea Scrolls.

If you would like to spend a day at the lowest point on earth, book this trip, just be prepared for the heat. The Dead Sea is 4000 feet lower than Jerusalem.

Our guide was (at least he said he was) an archaeologist with a specialization in the sites we visited. He evidently knew a lot and had a flair for conveying it. He was a nice guy who, however, should have paid a bit more attention to organizational matters. For instance, we had booked and prepaid for our lunch at Qumran but we had to remind him so that he could provide us with a voucher. All in all, a good experience.

Thanks very much for this complimentary review of your tour guided by Ami. He has a genial manner and together with his wealth of knowledge we are sure he provided interesting commentary. Sorry there was a mix up about the lunch voucher, but am presuming it was sorted to out. Main office will get instructions to make this matter clear to all guides. Glad it was a good tour experience all in all.

We had a wonderful day exploring Masada with our tour guide, Dan. He was really kind and very informative about everything we were seeing along the way to Masada and at the fortress itself. We had hoped to hike up the snake path but it is closed in the heat of the day (for good reason - it was HOT). Our lunch spot was really good and enjoyable. After that we went and floated in the Dead Sea. It was a neat experience. The one wish I have is that we had worn shoes down to the water as the pavement and even the mud surrounding the Dead Sea was incredibly hot (and slippery). Flip flops are a must to ensure you dont burn your feet. While in Israel, we did two tours with Bein Harim and really enjoyed both of them.

Thanks so much for sharing your satisfacition with the range of tours you enjoyed with Bein Harim. We sincerely appreciate your feedback. You have wisely!! mentioned how one needs to go prepared sith appropriate gear for the Dead Sea experience. Hot muddy and slippery it is on the shores indeed! Snake path ascending is generally done for sunrise, becasue of the heat that sets in early on in the day.

Dan Porges was our (excellent) tour guide for Masada and the Dead Sea. He generously shared his knowledge and answered many questions. It is very hot (to be expected), Dan took opportunities to help keep us comfortable. Dan’s enthusiasm for Masada was incredible … We had very little knowledge about Masada when we started the tour — Dan fixed that!
