About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mattmA8389PY0 contributionsJerusalem Tour OptionVery informed guide and it was well organized with good quality for the cost. Pickup and drop off was easy. 3 of my other Nazareth, Jericho and Bethlehem tours were canceled so buyer beware if the group has less than 4 people as the tour will be canceled. They refund your money quickly within the week for me, which I greatly appreciated. Good luckWritten January 9, 2025

- 811martenp0 contributionsMasada Dead sea relaxI really enjoyed the trip! The guide Eyal was very provident and professional! I Learned a lot about the places we passed by. We went through the sites without any hurry. The things were explained in an very eupeptic manner. Although we passed through the Westbank in summer 2024, there was no impression of any danger on the way. Local people we found where very kind at all places. The stay at the beach was about 1.5h, enough to enjoy this extraordinary place. Thanks for a very nice trip!Written June 26, 2024
- 811martenp0 contributionsJerusalem in a rushIt was a really nice trip! The guide Abu Shai was very professional, a history professor giving courses in US universities, as he stated. And indeed a lot of historical background was given beyond the facts about the sites we visited. Furthermore information was always intended to be in a consistent (not always religious) context. I really enjoyed the discussions. Unfortunately, we went through Jerusalem with a great portion of hurry, not really giving us time to rest and contemplate as I would have preferred for such a magic place on earth. People were also told to don't stop at any stall or photographic site except the ones we were told by the guide. The excuse was that we had to pass by so many places in the given time frame. Finally we finished the tour in around 6 hours. Anyway I learned a lot and enjoyed what I found. ThanksWritten June 26, 2024
- esimisrael0 contributionsUnforgettable Masada and Dead Sea Adventure! This "Masada and the Dead Sea Day Trip from Tel Aviv" was incredible! The convenience of hotel pickup and drop-off, combined with comfortable air-conditioned travel, made the journey stress-free. - F6783QFjimt0 contributionsTrip of a lifetime!Avi was our driver and tour guide. Easy efficient pick up and drop off. This was a 'return' trip for me after 53 years. Avi made the trip live up to all my expectations and more. We covered the Sea Level pit stop on the way down to the rift valley from Jerusalem. The cable car ascent of Masada and Avi gave us just the right depth of insight without any stress or rush. Then our time at Kalil Beach for our float in the Dead Sea and our self-pasting with Dead Sea mud was the best! A once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. It was a humbling honour to be blazing the trail for the return of tourism to Israel after the devastation wrought on 7 October 2023.Written May 31, 2024

- katlinw20240 contributionsGreat tour and amazing tour guideThis trip was the highlight of my time in Israel. Itamer was an amazing tour guide- his knowledge of history, Israel, and the Bible all fused to make this trip really memorable. All the sites we visited were amazing, there was ample time at each one but it didn’t feel like we were there for too long, and Itamer did a great job conducting the tour in multiple languages for different people. He truly cared about each person having a great experience. Visiting Jesus place where he grew up and did most of his ministry was truly incredible and the price for the tour was great. If you go, download what’s app because they will communicate with you that way for the pick up and drop off.Written May 21, 2024

The Jerusalem City of David Tour is a full-day tour comprised of a small group of five tourists. Our tour guide Mr. Danny Maor from Bein Harim Tourism Services brought the City of David to life through his comprehensive understanding of the multiple facets of cultures and civilizations that have predominated in succession in that world-famous location. Knowledgeable about the various periods and customs he led us literally step by step through the eras so that we could follow the sequences of conquerors and cultures. The pace was appropriate and the amount of walking thought considerable was not strenuous. For the time of the tour the price was appropriate. As a Jew, the tour was most compelling of course when we’re taken to the “kotel” and allowed to make our own spiritual moment with the continuity of generations. I recommend this tour for those with a love of history, archeology, and the myriad cultures of Israel and Palestine.

A fascinating underground walk where you walk where 1st century pilgrims walked. Currently it only goes at 2 pm and lasts 1 1/2 hours. Much of the time is above ground or in an archeological site, but you get about a 15-20 minute trip in a skinny, low underground tunnel and you get to see the foundations stones of the retaining wall for the temple mount below street level.
You don't walk on the wide stone steps where they are still excavating. Those you can only walk a short distance and then it is blocked. This tour starts about 1/2 way between the Pool of Siloam and the southern wall of the temple mount and then ascends up to the southern wall. You end up coming out in the Davidson archeological park near the south west corner of the temple mount down on street level.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day to both the City of David and Jerusalem with our tour guide YOSEF HAVIV. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the places we visited and had a great sense of humour. The tour was set at a great pace and we managed to pack in a lot within the 1 day that we spent there. We would definitely recommend both the tour and our guide YOSEF - thanks for an awesome day.

We did this tour couple of weeks back - myself being over 70 and my wife with an replaced knee. We found this tour to be very uncomfortable - did not realize that this tour had so much walking in the very hot Jerusalem sun on ancient coblestones, up and down hills and steps. No water or shade, and we don't recall if the notes said to wear comfortsble walking shoes.
We also assumed that by stating "underground Jerusalem tour" it would be under or near the Western Wall.
All this made for a very hard day, totally unpleasnt and unenjoyable.
Also at the end of a tour, we expect to be taken back to our starting point. Not to be told that to be dropped off at our hotel, we must now sit on the bus while other tours are to be picked up at the other side of Jersualem with the bad traffic, resulting in over an hours delay before being dropped of at the pick-up spot. Or get out now where they were at the time and nake our own way back to our hotel by foot. More walking!!!!
But we must complement our tour guide.

Dear 68rufusa,
We are sorry to learn about this experience you went through. Our tours go through the most popular and visited sites and therefore require a considerable amount of walking. You can find the tour itinerary on the website and see the number of sites visited. It is not possible to visit all of these sites by vehicle. In the tour description, you can also find a note mentioning "This tour includes a reasonable amount of walking; comfortable walking shoes are recommended". We cannot consider all of our customer's needs and conditions, therefore we try to bring to mind all of the details that we think are crucial for our customers to decide for themselves whether our products are suitable for them. If you know you have a limitation of some kind, it is best if consult with our office to figure out whether this tour is appropriate for you or not. Also, the temperature in the Israeli summer can get really high and that is something you have to consider as well while booking a tour. Plus, it is also mentioned that the tour doesn't include food and drinks. We provide a private tour service, where you can decide on the itinerary, pickup time and location and build a custom tour for your needs and convenience.
Again, we are sorry that you went through these difficulties and can understand your situation. You did mention enjoying your guide. Considering all this, we honestly don't believe that we deserve this 1-star rating. Take care!

The morning started with poor communication on every level (an unidentified white van pulls up and waits at the curb ... along with a number of other white vans and the assignment to groups was not well communicated). Once in our group (1.5 hrs later), our guide was obviously knowledgeable but did not have a good presentation prepared for different sites. She read from ancient texts throughout but had a significant accent, was yelling to be heard, and the texts didn't add anything. Overall every 15 minutes of talking contained about 1-2 minutes of useful info. Lunch was at a spot twice as expensive as other nearby locations and full of other tour groups; we were given 30 minutes to shop at expensive boutiques ... not why I took a tour. By the time I left the tour late in the afternoon, Iess than a half hour of relevant, useful information had been presented. Very disappointing.

Dear customer,
We appreciate your sincere review and would like to inform you that it's essential for our continued customer Service improvements that we clarify the issues you raised.
All of our guides, with no exceptions, graduate an intense course under the Supervision and Licensing by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The Course includes 570 academic hours in class and 80 field trips, designed to make proper acquaintance of Israel. The main Program’s Objectives are:
1. Providing Tour Guides with knowledge about the Land of Israel, in the fields of Archaeology,History, Religions, Flora and Fauna, Geography, Art, Architecture, and Israel’s current affairs in Social, Governmental, Economic and Political subjects.
2. Acquiring the ability for the Tour Guide to show visitors around the Country in a manner suitable to the diversity of the clientele.
Regarding lunch- A tourist is not forced to eat with the group and with arrangement with the guide may go nearby elsewhere as long as it's within the time schedule of the tour.
Regarding the shopping part of the tour, we would like our tourist to have the option to buy souvenirs if they want to, and we dedicate a small part of the tour for it. We are working with several stores that we are verified to have product warranty policy as well as shipping policy. We grant our guides the option to use their judgment and decide whether to linger or shorten the visit at the stores, according to the group's will.
I regret the fact you didn't contact us prior posting your review so we can conduct a clarification of the matter and if necessary, compensate you accordingly.
Our customer service is available and you are welcome to contact us at any time.
Know that we value your input as we continue to strive to provide quality service that meets client expectation.
I hope that we will have the privilege to guide you again in Israel and rectify any disservice.
Sincerely,
Shelly Yaron

This trip was a wonderful first visit for me to Jerusalem. It began at the Mount of Olives overlooking the city, then on to the City of David, outside of the city wall where Jerusalem actually began. We walked through amazingly ingenious sewage tunnels, the pool of Siloam (where Jesus had healed the blind man), the Western Wall, and Jerusalem quarter. He also took us to the room of the Last Supper and David’s tomb.
My guide, Eyal Shoval, was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the sights and helpful in both giving background and answering questions. He was patient with all of the different tourists and points of view on our tour and was able to give both historically and Biblically significant information.
As an aside to the tour itself, at the end of the tour, Bein Harim had arranged for a taxi to get me back to my bus to Tel Aviv (I was the only person coming from Tel Aviv on this particular tour). Eyal waited with me for over an hour for a taxi that never showed up and then helped to get me into a city bus to a hotel and cafe to wait for my Tel Aviv bus to arrive. It took over two hours in all, but he was incredibly patient and helpful the entire time.
I highly recommend both this tour and guide!

Day was as follows:
Met at 8:30 am.
Drive to meeting points and pickup of others 90 minutes wasted
Visited sights as described
3:30 pm back on bus for additional 90 minutes to back to dropping off for connections.
Would rethink using Ben Harrem tours bc of this.
Tour guide should use headsets and microphones bc very difficult hearing descriptions of sights.

Dear Marc,
Bein Harim is regretful that you were essentially NOT satisfied with the getting to and from your tour.
We take such feedback seriously and therefore provide detailed answers and insight. We contend with major transport matters and logistics daily, through a complex system, however. We are certainly pleased you were satisfied with the main and central part of the tour: its itinerary locations, guide and guiding.
Thanks too for the mention of the audio operation, it is presently being investigated. Due to the rising volumes of guests in our groups, and whom we only see for a day, we are checking options where we get the earphones back. This is huge daily maintenance and operational challenging procedure. But thanks for giving it a suggestion.
There is a law that amplification equipment may NOT be used at public locations therefore the guide cannot simply use a loudspeaker at any stop. We sure hope you will give us another chance one day to offer an experience of the high standard, as we have earned on this platform.
Sincerely,
Bein Harim Tourism Service team

I would literally take any tour that Zahi Shaked led. A warm and caring human, his approach to share peace and love with the world via the unique history of Jerusalem made a great impression upon me. He's lived a full and interesting life and has anecdotes--both personal and historical--that will blow your mind. His loving kindness moved me to tears multiple times throughout the day and really helped make my trip to Jerusalem a spiritual one. (And I'm an atheist!)
I was sad to be traveling alone on my birthday but Zahi was so sweet and the entire experience so lovely that it will be a memory for a lifetime.
